Stomatal regulation is critical for mangroves to survive in the hyper-saline intertidal zone where water stress is severe and water availability is highly ***,very little is known about the stomatal sensitivity to vapour pressure deficit(VPD)in mangroves,and its co-ordination with stomatal morphology and leaf hydraulic *** measured the stomatal response to a step increase in VPD in situ,stomatal anatomy,leaf hydraulic vulnerability and pressure-volume traits in nine true mangrove species of five families and collected the data of genome *** aimed to answer two questions:(1)Does stomatal morphology influence stomatal dynamics in response to a high VPD in mangroves?with a consideration of possible influence of genome size on stomatal morphology;and(2)do leaf hydraulic traits influence stomatal sensitivity to VPD in mangroves?We found that the stomata of mangrove plants were highly sensitive to a step rise in VPD and the stomatal responses were directly affected by stomatal anatomy and hydraulic ***,denser stomata was correlated with faster stomatal closure at high VPD across the species of Rhizophoraceae,and stomata size negatively and vein density positively correlated with genome *** negative leaf osmotic pressure at the full turgor(πo)was related to higher operating steady-state stomatal conductance(gs);and a higher leaf capacitance(Cleaf)and more embolism resistant leaf xylem were associated with slower stomatal responses to an increase in *** addition,stomatal responsiveness to VPD was indirectly affected by leaf morphological traits,which were affected by site salinity and consequently leaf water *** results demonstrate that mangroves display a unique relationship between genome size,stomatal size and vein packing,and that stomatal responsiveness to VPD is regulated by leaf hydraulic traits and stomatal *** work provides a quantitative framework to better understand of stomatal regulation in mangroves

Improving the highly selective and sensitive binding of chemosensor to target guest is always very *** order to solve this issue,herein,the enrichment effect was introduced into the design of chemosensor molecule.A novel bi-fused-macrocyclic host molecule BPN1 was synthesized by bridging a pillar[5]arene and a naphthalene diimide(NDI)group through hydrogen-bond-rich *** the BPN1,the naphthalimide side ring is outside the cavity of the pillar[5]*** addition,Cr(VI)greatly threat human health and the environment due to its severe toxicity,and it is very important to develop effective chemosensor for sensitive and selective detection of Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)or its ion *** this paper,the novel bi-fused-macrocyclic host molecule BPN1 can recognize Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)with high selectivity and *** mechanism of BPN1 recognition of Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)was studied through experiments and density functional theory(DFT),the results show that BPN1 could supply enrichment effect to bind Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)through multiple weak interactions such as hydrogen bonds and anion-π,and achieve highly sensitive and selective detection of Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-).It is a significant and feasible strategy for improve high selectivity and sensitivity of host to specific objects by using the enrichment effect of fused bi-macrocyclic.

Integrated interconnected porous and lamellar structures realized fast ion/electron conductivity in high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries

The practical application of high-energy-density lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have been highly praised for energy storage devices,while are largely hindered by the“shuttling effect”.Herein,core-shell carbon spheres composed of interlinked porous core and lamellar shell were designed to restrain the polysulfide *** microporous structure with pore size of around 1 nm effectively trap lithium ***,the interconnected porous core shortens the ion transfer distance and the lamellar carbon shell endows the carbon spheres with fast electron conduction,finally facilitating polysulfide conversion ***,the Li-S batteries with the carbon spheres as the interlayer show high discharge specific capacity of 1002 m Ah/g at 2 C with 574 m Ah/g remaining after 600 cycles,and high areal capacity of 5.48 m Ah/cm^(2) with sulfur loading of 4.67 mg/cm^(2) at 0.1 *** corresponding pouch cells also exhibit stable cycling stability with an initial discharge specific capacity of 1082 m Ah/g at 0.1 C.

Easy non-radiative decay property of long-lived triplet excitons in aqueous solution obstructs their applications in aquatic *** reported phosphorescence phenomena in aqueous solution have excited researchers enormously but achieving full-color water-soluble phosphorescent carbon nanodots(CNDs)is still a challenging ***,full-color phosphorescence of water-soluble CNDs has been demonstrated by triggering their triplet excitons through nanospace domain confinement,and Förster energy resonance transfer is used for further tuning phosphorescence *** phosphorescence spans across most of the visible spectrum,ranging from 400 to 700 *** an aqueous solution,the CNDs exhibits blue,green,and red phosphorescence,lasting for approximately 6,10,and 7 s,***,the phosphorescence quantum yields are 11.85%,8.6%and 3.56%,making them readily discernible to the naked eyes and laying a solid foundation for practical ***,phosphorescence flexible optical display and bioimaging have been demonstrated by using the multicolor CNDs-based nanomaterials,showing distinct superiority for accuracy and complete display and imaging in complex emission background.

Based on the in-situ self-reduction and chemical stability,graphdiyne(gDY)and graphdiyne oxide(gDYO)are used as trapping agents to investigate the ability for recovering Au^(3+),Ag^+,and Pd^(2+)under different pH values and interfering *** strong acidity at pH=1,these two agents demonstrate high select recovery towards the three precious metal ions,which could be insitu reduced to nanoparticles(NPs).In addition,superparamagnetic Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs are deposited on the surfaces of gDY and *** magnetic responses enable gDYFe_(3)O_(4)to recover precious metals conveniently and efficiently by the aid of an external magnetic *** study also confirms the antibacterial activity of the as-recovered NPs deposited on gDY and gDYO against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus(1×10^(5)colony-forming unit(CFU)·mL^(-1)),and the antibacterial rates are 100%.This strategy of recovering precious metals and subsequently reusing to combat pathogens will be of great significance for environmental remediation and biomedical applications.

Covalently Bonded Ni Sites in Black Phosphorene with Electron Redistribution for Efficient Metal‑Lightweighted Water Electrolysis

The metal-lightweighted electrocatalysts for water splitting are highly desired for sustainable and economic hydrogen energy deployments,but *** this work,a low-content Ni-functionalized approach triggers the high capability of black phosphorene(BP)with hydrogen and oxygen evolution reaction(HER/OER)*** a facile in situ electro-exfoliation route,the ionized Ni sites are covalently functionalized in BP nanosheets with electron redistribution and controllable metal *** is found that the as-fabricated Ni-BP electrocatalysts can drive the water splitting with much enhanced HER and OER *** 1.0 M KOH electrolyte,the optimized 1.5 wt%Nifunctionalized BP nanosheets have readily achieved low overpotentials of 136 mV for HER and 230 mV for OER at 10 mA cm^(−2).Moreover,the covalently bonding between Ni and P has also strengthened the catalytic stability of the Ni-functionalized BP electrocatalyst,stably delivering the overall water splitting for 50 h at 20 mA cm^(−2).Theoretical calculations have revealed that Ni–P covalent binding can regulate the electronic structure and optimize the reaction energy barrier to improve the catalytic activity *** work confirms that Ni-functionalized BP is a suitable candidate for electrocatalytic overall water splitting,and provides effective strategies for constructing metal-lightweighted economic electrocatalysts.

Efficiency and safety of laparoscopic left hemihepatectomy: A study of intrathecal vs extrathecal glissonean pedicle techniques

BACKgROUND Selective hemihepatic vascular occlusion is utilized in both right and left hemihepatectomies to preserve blood supply to the intact lobe,maintain hemo-dynamic stability,and mitigate surgical *** this technique encompasses both intrathecal and extrathecal glissonean pedicle transection methods,there is a lack of systematic comparative reports on these two *** To retrospectively analyze the clinical data of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)undergoing laparoscopic anatomical hepatectomy in our hospital to explore the feasibility,safety,and short-and long-term efficacy of extrathecal and intrathecal glissonean pedicle transection methods in laparo-scopic left *** A retrospective study was performed to analyze the clinical data of 49 HCC patients who underwent laparoscopic left hemihepatectomy from January 2019 to December 2022 in our *** patients were divided into extrathecal glissonean pedicle transection(EgP)group(n=24)and intrathecal glissonean pedicle transection(IgP)group(n=25)according to the different approaches used for selective hemihepatic vascular *** perioperative indicators,liver function indexes,complications,and follow-up findings were compared between these two *** The surgeries were smooth in both groups,and no perioperative death was *** hepatic pedicle transection time and the operation time were(16.1±2.3)minutes and(129.6±19.0)minutes,respectively,in the EgP group,which were significantly shorter than those in the IgP group[(25.5±2.4)minutes and(184.8±26.0)minutes,respectively],both Pgnificant differences in intraoperative blood loss,time to anal exhaust,hospital stay,drain indwelling time,and postoperative liver function between the two groups(all P>0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications showed no significant difference[16.67%(4/24)vs 16.0%(4/25),P>0.05].All the 49 HCC patients were followed up after surgery(range:11.2

Influence of tectonic preservation conditions on the nanopore structure of shale reservoir: A case study of Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation shale in western Hubei area, south China

Tectonism is one of the dominant factors affecting the shale pore structure. However, the control of shale pore structure by tectonic movements is still controversial, which limits the research progress of shale gas accumulation mechanism in the complex tectonic region of southern China. In this study, 34 samples were collected from two exploratory wells located in different tectonic locations. Diverse experiments,e.g., organic geochemistry, XRD analysis, FE-SEM, low-pressure gas adsorption, and high-pressure mercury intrusion, were conducted to fully characterize the shale reservoir. The TOC, Ro, and mineral composition of the shale samples between the two wells are similar, which reflects that the shale samples of the two wells have proximate pores-generating capacity and pores-supporting ***, the pore characteristics of shale samples from two wells are significantly different. Compared with the stabilized zone shale, the porosity, pore volume, and specific surface area of the deformed zone shale were reduced by 60.61%, 64.85%, and 27.81%, respectively. Moreover, the macroscopic and fine pores were reduced by 54.01% and 84.95%, respectively. fault activity and uplift denudation are not conducive to pore preservation, and the rigid basement of Huangling uplift can promote pore preservation. These three factors are important reasons for controlling the difference in pore structure between two wells shales. We established a conceptual model of shale pores evolution under different tectonic preservation conditions. This study is significant to clarify the scale of shale gas formation and enrichment in complex tectonic regions, and helps in the selection of shale sweet spots.
