Clinical features and in vivo confocal microscopy assessment in 12 patients with ocular cicatricial pemphigoid

AIM： To describe the clinical features and microstructural characteristics assessed by in vivo confocal microscopy（IVCM） in patients with ocular cicatricial pemphigoid（OCP）.· METHODS： A descriptive, uncontrolled case series study. Patients diagnosed with OCP were examined by clinical history, slit-lamp biomicroscopy features and IVCM images. The results of direct immunofluorescence（DIF） biopsies and indirect immunofluorescence（IIF） were also recorded. Local and systemic immunosuppressive therapy were administered and adjusted according to response.·RESULTS： A total of 12 consecutive OCP patients（7male, 5 female; mean age 60.42 ±10.39y） were *** patients exhibited bilateral progressive conjunctival scarring and recurrent chronic conjunctivitis was the most frequent clinical pattern. The mean duration of symptoms prior to diagnosis of OCP was 2.95 ±2.85y（range： 5mo to 10y）. The Foster classification varied from stage I to IV and 20 eyes（83%） were within or greater than Foster stage Ⅲ on presentation. Two of the 12patients（17%） demonstrated positive DIF; 3 of the 12（25%） patients reported positive IIF. The mean duration of the follow-up period was 20.17 ±11.88mo（range： 6 to48mo）. IVCM showed variable degrees of abnormality in the conjuctiva-cornea and conjuctival scarring was detected in all the involved eyes. Corneal stromal cell activation and dendritic cell infiltration presented asocular surface inflammation, ocular surface keratinization along with the destroyed Vogt palisades was noted in eyes with potential limbal stem cell deficiency. After treatment, remission of ocular surface inflammation was achieved in all the patients, 18 eyes（75%） remained stable, 6 eyes（25%） had recurrent conjunctivitis and cicatrization in 2 eyes（8%） was progressing.· CONCLUSION： As an autoimmune disease, OCP manifests as variable degrees of clinical and laboratory abnormalities with both local and systemic immunosuppressive treatment playing important roles in disease therap

Objective To compare the effectiveness of immunofluorescence and polymerase chain reaction （PCR） in detecring human papilloma virus （HPV） in condyloma acuminata （CA）. Methods HPVs in CA tissues from 60 patients were detected by immunofluorescence and PCR, respectively. Different subtypes of HPVs were also identified with restriction fragment length polymorphism （RFLP） . Resuits The positive detective rates of immunofluorescence and PCR were 56. 67 % （34/60） and 96. 67 % （58/ 60）, respectively （ P 〈 0. 01 ）. RFLP results showed HPV6 and HPV11 were the main subtypes in the detected virus, which accounted for 98.28%. Conclusion The sensibility of PCR is superior to that of immunofluorescence.

Vector meson's spin alignments in high energy reactions

The global spin alignment of vector mesons has been observed by the STAR collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider （RHIC） at Brookhaven National Laboratory （BNL）.It provides a unique opportunity to probe the correlation between the polarized quark and antiquark in the strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma （sQGP） produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions,opening a new window to explore the properties of s *** addition,spin alignments of vector mesons have also been observed in other high-energy particle collisions such as e+e-annihilations at high energies where hadron production is dominated by quark fragmentation *** results obtained are quite different from those obtained in heavy ion collisions where quark coalescence/combination mechanism dominates suggesting strong dependence on hadronization *** comprehensive studies in different hadronization processes are *** this article,we present a brief review of theoretical and experimental advances in the study of vector meson’s spin alignments in a variety of high-energy particle collisions,with emphasis on hadronization mechanisms.

Pemphigus vulgaris(PV)is a life-threatening autoimmune bullous disease that causes blisters and erosions on the skin and mucous membranes to standardize the diagnosis and treatment of PV,Chinese experts in this field were invited to make recommendations which are presented in this *** vulgaris can be divided into cutaneous mucous type,cutaneous type and mucous mucous dominant type according to the different clinical *** pathological manifestations of PV are acantholysis above the basal *** diagnosis of PV and the assessment of the severity of the disease are made in accordance with the clinical manifestations,histopathological features,immunofluorescence assay results,and detection of pathogenic serum *** first-line treatment of PV comprises systemic *** combination with immunosuppressive agents or rituximab is recommended for moderate and severe *** immunoglobulin administration is recommended for patients being treated with *** exchange and stem cell transplantation can be performed if *** the course of therapy,the disease activity should be closely monitored,and actions should be taken to prevent adverse reactions.

土壤冻融过程中的水热参数化方案研究进展

冻土是陆地冰冻圈的重要组成部分,其冻融循环变化能够影响土壤结构、土壤水热传输以及土壤生物化学等过程,并通过陆-气相互作用影响局地甚至全球天气气候。因此,研究土壤冻融过程对冻土区人类生产生活和了解区域外天气气候变化具有重要的科学意义。本文回顾了土壤中的砾石、有机质对土壤冻融过程的影响及物理机制,总结了土壤冻融过程中水热参数化的相关研究成果,包括土壤导热率和水力学参数的计算、水热耦合方案以及冻融锋面计算方案等。相对于普通的矿物质土粒而言,砾石具有高导热率和低热容,有机质具有低导热率和高热容,他们对热量在土壤中的传输及土壤温度垂直分布有不同的影响。另外,砾石和有机质的存在改变了土壤孔隙度、土壤基质毛细作用与吸附作用,进而影响水分在土壤中的传输过程和垂直分布。已有研究表明:(1)当前大部分数值模式中土壤导热率采用Johansen方案及其派生方案进行计算,其中Balland-Arp方案考虑了砾石和有机质对土壤导热率的影响,该方案更好地刻画了土壤冻融过程中土壤导热率变化的连续性;综合考虑热-水-变形相互作用的导热率参数化方案可以较好地刻画土壤冻融过程中的水热耦合和土体冻胀的作用,对相变过程中土壤导热率变化特征的模拟更符合实际观测。(2)过冷水参数化方案刻画了土壤液态水在0℃以下存在的事实;相变温度方案描述了土壤相变温度低于0℃且不固定的事实;导水阻抗方案考虑了土壤冻结对土壤水分下渗的阻抗作用,改善了对冻土区水文过程的模拟效果。(3)土壤冻融过程伴随着水分的相变和能量的转化,水热耦合方案的发展能够较好地刻画土壤中热力-水文过程的协同变化特征,细化了对冻融过程中水分和能量相互作用的复杂物理机制的描述。(4)等温框架的数值模式通过模拟每层土壤中间深度的冻融过程代表该模式分层的整体特征,导致对冻融深度的严重高估或低估,尤其是对厚度较大的模式深层土壤,冻融锋面计算方案的提出和应用减小了这种模拟偏差。目前土壤冻融参数化方案的不足之处包括:绝大多数数值模式没有考虑土壤盐分导致土壤水的冰点降低这一事实;虽然大部分数值模式考虑了土壤有机质对土壤水、热传输的影响,但是模式中对土壤有机质含量及垂直分布的考虑与植被根系的生长状态脱节;模式模拟的土壤深度不足并且下边界通量为零的假定不符合实际情况。发展土壤溶质传输参数化方案以模拟盐分的分布、刻画植被根系生长过程和土壤有机质的分布特征、考虑深层土壤对浅层的热力学影响并完善数值模式中的下边界条件,这些是未来陆面模式改进土壤冻融过程模拟的可能方向。

Reperfusion following cerebral ischemia causes both structural and functional damage to brain tissue and could aggravate a patient's condition;this phenomenon is known as cerebral ischemia-reperfusion *** studies have elucidated the neuroprotective role of the sirtuin protein family(Sirtuins)in modulating cerebral ischemia-reperfusion ***,the potential of utilizing it as a novel intervention target to influence the prognosis of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury requires additional *** this review,the origin and research progress of Sirtuins are summarized,suggesting the involvement of Sirtuins in diverse mechanisms that affect cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury,including inflammation,oxidative stress,blood-brain barrier damage,apoptosis,pyroptosis,and *** therapeutic avenues related to Sirtuins that may improve the prognosis of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury were also investigated by modulating Sirtuins expression and affecting representative pathways,such as nuclear factor-kappa B signaling,oxidative stress mediated by adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase,and the forkhead box *** review also summarizes the potential of endogenous substances,such as RNA and hormones,drugs,dietary supplements,and emerging therapies that regulate Sirtuins *** review also reveals that regulating Sirtuins mitigates cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury when combined with other risk *** Sirtuins show promise as a potential target for the treatment of cerebral ischemiareperfusion injury,most recent studies are based on rodent models with circadian rhythms that are distinct from those of humans,potentially influencing the efficacy of Sirtuinstargeting drug ***,this review provides new insights into the role of Sirtuins in the pathology and treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Performance of wavecatcher intakes at angles of attack and sideslip

A wavecatcher type scramjet intake,that reduces the Mach number number from 4 to 1.552,is used as the basis for a study of flow starting/unstarting as affected by freestream angles of attack and *** intake design is based on a morphed streamtube consisting of two conical flow streamlines using streamline tracing and osculating axisymmetric design *** flow and performance is modeled using the numerical CFD code and the k-e turbulence *** intake unstarts at a sideslip angle of 2,a positive angle of attack of 1.Both positive angle of attack and sideslip angle have an adverse effect on the startability of the MBus *** negative angles,the intake initially unstarts at5angle of attack,due to the thickened shear layer induced by the streamwise *** it re-starts at8angle of attack,mainly due to the expansion fan formed at the leading edge,causing the shock wave structures inside the intake to be reestablished.
