BACKGROUND Skin wounds are highly common in diabetic patients,and with increasing types of pathogenic bacteria and antibiotic resistance,wounds and infections in diabetic patients are difficult to treat and *** To explore the effects of betaine ointment(BO)in promoting the healing of skin wounds and reducing the inflammation and apoptosis of skin cells in microbially infected diabetic *** By detecting the minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs)of betaine and plant monomer components such as psoralen,we prepared BO with betaine as the main ingredient,blended it with traditional Chinese medicines such as gromwell root and psoralen,and evaluated its antibacterial effects and safety in vitro and in *** skin infection wound models of ordinary mice and diabetic mice were constructed,and the OTC drugs mupirocin ointment and Zicao ointment were used as controls to evaluate the antibacterial effects in vivo and the anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects of *** The MICs of betaine against microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus(***),Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans ranged from 4 to 32μg/*** root and psoralea,both of which contain antimicrobial components,mixed to prepare BO with MICs ranging from 16 to 64μg/mL,which is 32-256 times lower than those of Zicao ointment,although the MIC is greater than that of *** 15 days of treatment with BO for USA300-infected ordinary mice,the wound scab removal rates were 83.3%,while those of mupirocin ointment and Zicao ointment were 66.7%and 0%,respectively,and the differences were statistically *** diabetic mice,the wound scab removal rate of BO and mupirolacin ointment was 80.0%,but BO reduced wound inflammation and the apoptosis of skin cells and facilitated wound *** The ointment prepared by mixing betaine and traditional Chinese medicine can effectively inhibit common skin microorganisms and has a strong effect on the skin wounds of sensit

Planning conservation corridors in mountain areas based on integrated conservation planning models: A case study for a giant panda in the Qionglai Mountains

With the accelerated urbanization,human activities pose serious threats to species because of *** conservation corridors between habitats could improve species mobility in order to address the human ***,there are a limited number of studies that focus on assessing the effect of human activities on species movement in mountain areas as well as how to integrate different conservation models relating to conservation corridors *** our study,we modified the resistance model and took land use data as input parameters to quantify the impacts of human activities in mountain ***,different conservation planning models,including Circuit model and Least Cost Path(LCP)algorithm,were ***,our approach was applied to identify giant panda corridors in Miarro nature reserve,Caopo nature reserve,and Wolong nature *** results suggested that the impacts of human activities were limited in valley regions due to topography by resistance ***,Circuit model demonstrated that the conservation corridors for giant panda could not be identified between the Miarro and the Caopo nature ***,more detailed corridors between habitats were planned by the LCP ***,we also identified bottlenecks for migration in each corridor,indicating that human activities’interference was the primary *** approach not only could connect habitats for conservation in mountain areas but also found out that the corridor could not be identified between habitats.

Systematic review of Yougui pills combined with levothyroxine sodium in the treatment of hypothyroidism

The C–Ge cross-coupling offers a promising approach for the precise synthesis of organogermanes. However, the current methods are primarily effective in the germylation of organo(pseudo)halides. This work demonstrates the possibility of transferring low-cost and easily available ester groups into organogermanes through the cleavage of stable C–O bonds. Primary,secondary, and even tertiary benzylic pivalates were coupled well with chlorogermanes. The reactions proceed under mild conditions. The scalability of this reaction and derivatization of the formed benzylgermanes are demonstrated.

Effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of structural steel–mild steel composite plates fabricated by explosion welding

Baicalin Ameliorates Corticosterone-Induced Depression by Promoting Neurodevelopment of Hippocampal via mTOR/GSK3β Pathway

Objective: To investigate the role of hippocampal neurodevelopment in the antidepressant effect of baicalin. Methods: Forty male Institute of Cancer Research mice were divided into control, corticosterone(CORT,40 mg/kg), CORT+baicalin-L(25 mg/kg), CORT+baicalin-H(50 mg/kg), and CORT+fluoxetine(10 mg/kg)groups according to a random number table. An animal model of depression was established by chronic CORT exposure. Behavioral tests were used to assess the reliability of depression model and the antidepressant effect of baicalin. In addition, Nissl staining and immunofluorescence were used to evaluate the effect of baicalin on hippocampal neurodevelopment in mice. The protein and mRNA expression levels of neurodevelopment-related factors were detected by Western blot analysis and real-time polymerase chain reaction, respectively. Results:Baicalin significantly ameliorated the depressive-like behavior of mice resulting from CORT exposure and promoted the development of dentate gyrus in hippocampus, thereby reversing the depressive-like pathological changes in hippocampal neurons caused by CORT neurotoxicity. Moreover, baicalin significantly decreased the protein and mRNA expression levels of glycogen synthase kinase 3β(GSK3β), and upregulated the expression levels of cell cycle protein D1, p-mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR), doublecortin, and brainderived neurotrophic factor(all P0.05). Conclusion: Baicalin can promote the development of hippocampal neurons via mTOR/GSK3β signaling pathway, thus protect mice against CORT-induced neurotoxicity and play an antidepressant role.

Cloud point extraction coupled with HPLC-UV for the determination of phthalate esters in environmental water samples

A method based on cloud point extraction was developed to determine phthalate esters including di-ethyl-phthalate （DEP）, di- （2-ethylhexyl）-phthalate （DEHP） and di-cyclohexyl-phthalate （DCP） in environmental water samples using high-performance liquid chromatography separation and ultraviolet detection （HPLC-UV）. The non-ionic surfactant Triton X-114 was chosen as extraction solvent. The parameters affecting extraction efficiency, such as concentrations of Triton X-114 and Na2SO4, equilibration temperature, equilibration time and centrifugation time were evaluated and optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the method can achieve preconcentration factors of 35, 88, 111 and detection of limits of 2.0, 3.8, 1.0 ng/ml for DEP, DEHP and DCP in 10-ml water sample, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of trace amount of phathalate esters in effluent water of the wastewater treatment plant and the lixivium of plastic fragments.
