The Impact of Different Effective Models for Star Formation on the Properties of Simulated Milky Way-sized Galaxies

Hydrodynamical cosmological simulations of galaxy formation such as Illustris TNG or Auriga have shown considerable success in approximately matching many galaxy properties,but their treatment of the star-forming interstellar medium (ISM) has relied on heuristic sub-grid ***,recent high-resolution simulations of the ISM that directly resolve the regulation of star formation suggest different mean relations for the dependences of pressure and star formation rate on the average gas *** this study,we adopt such a modern,physically grounded parameterization inspired by the TIGRESS small-scale *** dub this model TEQS and use it for a detailed comparative analysis of the formation and evolution of a Milky Way-sized galaxy when compared with the widely used TNG *** employing high-resolution simulations in tall box setups,we first investigate the structural differences expected for these two models when applied to different self-gravitating gas surface *** results indicate that TEQS produces considerably thinner gaseous layers and can be expected to form stellar distributions with smaller scale-height than TNG,especially at higher surface *** test whether this induces systematic structural differences in cosmological galaxy formation simulations,we carry out zoom-in simulations of 12 galaxies taken from the set of Milky Way-sized galaxies that have been studied in the Auriga *** results for these galaxies shows that disk galaxies formed with the TEQS model have on average very similar stellar mass but are more concentrated in their central regions and exhibit smaller stellar radii compared to those formed with the TNG *** differences in the scale-heights of the formed stellar disks are only marginal,however,suggesting that other factors for setting the thickness of the disk are more important than the applied ISM equation-of-state ***,the predicted galaxy structure is quite similar for TNG and

Jet Flame Characteristics of High-Temperature Gas-Solid Mixed Fuels

Preheating combustion/gasification technology enables efficient and environmentally friendly utilization of coal resources,but the research on the flow and reaction characteristics of high-temperature gas-solid mixed fuels produced by the technology still needs to be further *** flame can intuitively show the jet,mixing and reaction of fuel and oxidant at the outlet of the ***,this study investigates the jet flame characteristics of high-temperature gas-solid mixed fuels on a self-designed test *** temperature and gas-solid mixing are the special features of the fuel in this study,which are different from other ***,we first qualitatively compare the jet flame characteristics of high-temperature gas-solid mixed fuel with traditional *** preliminary results indicate that high-temperature gas-solid mixed fuels exhibit higher reactivity and a faster reaction rate compared to pulverized *** a result,it shows different characteristics in flame shape,ignition delay and ignition *** jet flame shape of high-temperature gas-solid mixed fuels closely resembles that of the pulverized coal group combustion flame,displaying a continuous cloud-like structure similar to the shape of a gas-fueled ***,the flame image does not show any significant ignition delay *** upon these results,this study also quantitatively analyzes the geometric parameters,temperature distribution and oscillation frequency of the high-temperature gas-solid mixed fuel jet flame under different secondary air equivalence ratios and primary air equivalence ratios,so that we can have a deeper understanding of the influence of operating parameters on the combustion/gasification process.

AIM:To investigate the clinical profile of patients with acquired lacrimal sac mucocele(ALSM)and evaluate the efficacy of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy(En-DCR)for this ***:En-DCRs were performed on 141 patients with ALSM patients from January 2016 to March *** clinical baseline information and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)images were recorded and *** assess the effectiveness of En-DCR therapy,both anatomical and functional success rate was assessed during a 12mo ***:A total of 141 patients,with a mean age of 57.70±14.11y,were enrolled in this *** of the patients were female(n=91;64.54%)and all had unilateral *** patients had a previous history of epiphora and purulent secretion,and the duration from lacrimal duct obstruction to mucocele formation ranged from 6 to *** findings consistently revealed an enlarged sac diameter,fluid accumulation separated by a thin rim from adjacent tissues,which is indicative of lacrimal sac ***-DCR was performed with an anatomical success rate of 93.62%and a functional success rate of 81.56%.CONCLUSION:ALSM is more commonly seen in females and *** is essentially a complication of lacrimal duct *** characteristics can be used for precise clinical diagnosis,while En-DCR emerges as an optimal therapy for this *** results provide a comprehensive reference for the diagnosis and treatment of ALSM.

以汾渭平原中小城市铜川市为研究对象,采用在线监测的方法测定铜川市高新技术产业开发区大气环境VOCs组分浓度(共计115种),梳理分析高新技术产业开发区大气VOCs污染时间序列与季节性变化特征,运用PMF模型解析VOCs的主要来源,利用最大增量反应活性(MIR)法量化VOCs的臭氧生成潜势(OFP),并计算毒性VOCs的危害指数(HI)和终生癌症风险(LCR).结果表明,监测期间铜川市高新技术产业开发区春、夏和冬季φ(TVOCs)均值分别为(69.03±47.48)×10^(-9)、(92.66±37.54)×10^(-9)和(134.90±74.58)×10^(-9),各季节排名前三的组分表现一致(烷烃>烯烃>芳香烃).PMF源解析结果显示,铜川市高新技术产业开发区大气VOCs来源以化工企业、机动车、燃烧排放为主(贡献均超过20%),但存在显著的季节性特征.OFP评估结果表明,OVOCs是各季节贡献最大的组分,主要贡献物种为乙醇、乙醛和乙烯等.春、夏和冬季VOCs经呼吸摄入致癌风险为1.57×10^(-5)~8.42×10^(-5),非致癌风险均高于可接受水平(HI>1),表明此环境中的暴露人群存在轻微致癌和非致癌健康风险.其中,丙烯醛危害指数尤其突出(HI>1).

Tectonic modes of mantle convection and their implications for Earth's tectonic evolution based on three-dimensional numerical simulations

Five tectonic modes of mantle convection are obtained and analyzed with three-dimensional numerical models in a spherical shell *** five tectonic convective modes are non-plate mobile-lid,plate-like mobile-lid,episodic plate-like mobile-lid,episodic stagnant-lid,and stagnant-lid convective modes,*** typical characteristics of these five tectonic modes and their numerical classification criteria based on plateness,mobility,and their standard deviations are presented and *** results show that the yield stress of the lithosphere has profound effects on the tectonic convective *** the gradual increase of yield stress,the tectonic mode of mantle convection changes from one to another sequentially through the aforementioned five ***,as the Rayleigh number increases,the range of yield stress for the platelike mobile-lid convective mode decreases,and the dimensionless transition stress between different tectonic modes ***,the dimensional transition stress between the non-plate mobile-lid convective mode and plate-like mobile-lid convective mode increases with the increase of Rayleigh number,but decreases between other tectonic ***,we find that the transition stress between different tectonic modes is inversely proportional to the internal heating rate,with the transition stress decreasing as the internal heating rate *** fitting analysis of the transition stress between tectonic modes shows that Earth's current plate tectonics correspond to a lithospheric yield stress of 150–250 MPa,which aligns with the strength of serpentinized mantle rock determined by experimental *** the Archean mantle was 300℃warmer than it is today,then the Earth was in an episodic stagnant-lid convective *** tectonic evolution of the Earth's surface is closely related to the lithospheric strength and the process of thermal *** the lithospheric strength was only 150 MPa,plate tecton

Analysis of Health-Related Quality of Life and Influencing Factors among Elderly Residents in Southwest China

Objective: The health-related quality of life (HRQoL) theory was used to assess the health quality of elderly residents in Southwest China. This was done by using the European Five-Dimensional Health Scale in a comprehensive manner and by analysing the factors influencing it. The findings will provide new perspectives and ideas for improving the health-related quality of life of the elderly population and enhancing the precise health management of elderly residents. Methods: The response data of 1892 elderly residents in southwestern China were included in the analysis based on the CLHLS data. The factors influencing the occurrence of problems, EQ-VAS scores and health utility values were analysed by logistic regression, multiple linear regression and Tobit regression, respectively. Results: The primary health concerns among the elderly population in the Southwest region were limited ability to perform daily activities and pain or discomfort. These individuals exhibited an EQ-VAS self-assessment score of 66.51 ± 14.87 and a health utility value of 0.87 (0.70, 1.00). Gender, age, regular medical check-ups, exercise habits and the prevalence of chronic diseases are the main influencing factors. Conclusions: The health quality of elderly people in Southwest China needs to be improved, and a comprehensive management strategy can be adopted in terms of lifestyle management, health needs management and disease management to improve the quality of their healthy lives and promote the development of healthy ageing.

Perceived Social Support and Symptoms of Depression and Anxiety among Chinese Adolescents:A Moderated Chain Mediation Model

Background:Although previous studies indicate that perceived social support might be associated with adolescent psychological problems,the specific mechanism has not been thoroughly *** on theoretical and empirical research on problematic Internet use(PIU)and sleep quality,this study explored whether they play a mediating role between perceived social support and symptoms of depression and anxiety among ***,we investigated whether these relationships varied by place of ***:A sample of 2115 Chinese adolescents was included,and analyzed data related to perceived social support,PIU,sleep quality,symptoms of depression and anxiety,and sociodemographic *** analysis,mediation,and moderation analysis were mainly ***:Perceived social support was negatively correlated with depressive symptoms(r=−0.22,p<0.001)and anxiety symptoms(r=−0.20,p<0.001)among *** and sleep quality played a chain mediating role in the relationship between perceived social support and symptoms of depression and anxiety in ***,the place of residence moderated the relationships between perceived social support and PIU and symptoms of depression and *** social support was a significant negative predictor of PIU and symptoms of depression and anxiety among adolescents in urban areas but not in rural ***:The findings suggest that low levels of perceived social support may lead to more PIU and poorer sleep quality,which may further increase the risk of symptoms of depression and anxiety in adolescents,especially in urban areas.

Simultaneous immobilization of multiple heavy metal(loid)s in contaminated water and alkaline soil inoculated Fe/Mn oxidizing bacterium

Two strains of Fe/Mn oxidizing bacteria tolerant to high concentrations of multiple heavy metal(loid)s and efficient decontamination for them were *** surface of the bio-Fe/Mn oxides produced by the oxidation of Fe(II)and Mn(II)by Pseudomonas taiwanensis(marked as P4)and Pseudomonas plecoglossicida(marked as G1)contains rich reactive oxygen functional groups,which play critical roles in the removal efficiency and immobilization of heavymetal(loid)s in co-contamination *** isolated strains P4 and G1 can growwell in the following environments:pH 5-9,NaCl 0-4%,and temperature 20-30℃.The removal efficiencies of Fe,Pb,As,Zn,Cd,Cu,and Mn are effective after inoculation of the strains P4 and G1 in the simulated water system(the initial concentrations of heavy metal(loid)were 1 mg/L),approximately reaching 96%,92%,85%,67%,70%,54%and 15%,*** exchangeable and carbonate bound As,Cd,Pb and Cu are more inclined to convert to the Fe-Mn oxide bound fractions in P4 and G1 treated soil,thereby reducing the phytoavailability and bioaccessible of heavy metal(loid)*** research provides alternatives method to treat water and soil containing high concentrations of multi-heavy metal(loid)s.
