Hepatitis B reactivation in patients receiving direct-acting antiviral therapy or interferon-based therapy for hepatitis C:A systematic review and meta-analysis

AIM To assess the incidence of hepatitis B virus(HBV) reactivation in patients receiving direct-acting antiviral agent(DAA)-based therapy or interferon(IFN)-based therapy for hepatitis C and the effectiveness of preemptive antiHBV therapy for preventing HBV *** The Pub Med, MEDliNE and EMBASE databases were searched, and 39 studies that reported HBV reactivation in HBV/hepatitis C virus coinfected patients receiving DAAbased therapy or IFN-based therapy were included. The primary outcome was the rate of HBV reactivation. The secondary outcomes included HBV reactivation-related hepatitis and the effectiveness of preemptive anti-HBV treatment with nucleos(t)ide analogues. The pooled effects were assessed using a random effects model. RESULTS The rate of HBV reactivation was 21.1% in hepatitis Bsurface antigen(HBs Ag)-positive patients receiving DAAbased therapy and 11.9% in those receiving IFN-based therapy. The incidence of hepatitis was lower in HBs Agpositive patients with undetectable HBV DNA compared to patients with detectable HBV DNA receiving DAA therapy(RR = 0.20, 95%CI: 0.06-0.64, P = 0.007). The pooled HBV reactivation rate in patients with previous HBV infection was 0.6% for those receiving DAA-based therapy and 0 for those receiving IFN-based therapy, and none of the patients experienced a hepatitis flare related to HBV reactivation. Preemptive anti-HBV treatment significantly reduced the potential risk of HBV reactivation in HBs Agpositive patients undergoing DAA-based therapy(RR = 0.31, 95%CI: 0.1-0.96, P = 0.042).CONCLUSION The rate of HBV reactivation and hepatitis flare occurrence is higher in HBs Ag-positive patients receiving DAA-based therapy than in those receiving IFN-based therapy, but these events occur less frequently in patients with previous HBV infection. Preemptive anti-HBV treatment is effective in preventing HBV reactivation.

pH Induced Self-assembly of AIE Fluorescent Probe for Tumor Imaging

This work reported an AIE fluorescent probe for tumor imaging based on the p H induced self-assembly strategy. The fluorescent probe was composed of an acid-responsive soluble copolymer PEG-b-PAMA-DMMA with a maleic acid amide group and an anionic soluble aggregation-induced emission fluorogen(AIEgen) TPE-2SO_(3)^(-). The polymer could be transformed into a protonated amine-containing polymer after the hydrolysis of maleic acid amide in acidic tumor microenvironment, which would be further self-assembled with TPE-2SO_(3)^(-)to form aggregated nanoparticles. The transition of TPE-2SO_(3)^(-)from dispersed state to aggregated state led to an obvious increase in fluorescence intensity due to its AIE characteristics.

BACKGROUND Diarrhea is a major infectious cause of childhood morbidity and mortality *** clinical trials,Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG ATCC 53013(LGG)has been used to treat ***,recent randomized controlled trials(RCTs)found no evidence of a beneficial effect of LGG *** To evaluate the efficacy of LGG in treating acute diarrhea in *** The EMBASE,MEDliNE,PubMed,Web of Science databases,and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched up to April 2019 for metaanalyses and *** Cochrane Review Manager was used to analyze the relevant *** Nineteen RCTs met the inclusion criteria and showed that compared with the control group,LGG administration notably reduced the diarrhea duration[mean difference(MD)-24.02 h,95%confidence interval(CI)(-36.58,-11.45)].More effective results were detected at a high dose≥1010 CFU per day[MD-22.56 h,95%CI(-36.41,-8.72)]vs a lower dose.A similar reduction was found in Asian and European patients[MD-24.42 h,95%CI(-47.01,-1.82);MD-32.02 h,95%CI(-49.26,-14.79),respectively].A reduced duration of diarrhea was confirmed in LGG participants with diarrhea for less than 3 d at enrollment[MD-15.83 h,95%CI(-20.68,-10.98)].High-dose LGG effectively reduced the duration of rotavirus-induced diarrhea[MD-31.05 h,95%CI(-50.31,-11.80)]and the stool number per day[MD-1.08,95%CI(-1.87,-0.28)].CONCLUSION High-dose LGG therapy reduces the duration of diarrhea and the stool number per *** at the early stage is *** trials are expected to verify the effectiveness of LGG treatment.

Garnet-type solid-state batteries(SSBs)are considered to be one of the most promising candidates to realize next-generation lithium metal batteries with high energy density and ***,the dendrite-induced short-circuit and the poor interfacial contact impeded the practical ***,interface engineering to achieve low interfacial resistance without high temperature calcination was developed,which li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO)was simply coated with complex hydride(li_(4)(BH_(4))_(3)I(3L1L))in various mass ratios n(li_(4)(BH_(4))_(3)I)-(100−n)LLZTO(10≤n≤40).The interfacial conductivity increases by more than three orders of magnitude from 8.29×10^(−6)S·cm^(−1)to 1.10×10^(−2)S·cm^(−1).Symmetric li cells exhibit a high critical current density(CCD)of 4.0 mA·cm^(−2) and an excellent cycling stability for 200 h at 4.0 mA·cm^(−2).SSBs with polymeric sulfur-polyacrylonitrile(SPAN)cathode achieve a high discharge capacity of 1149 mAh·g^(−1) with a capacity retention of 91%after 100 cycles(0.2 C).This attempt guides a simple yet efficient strategy for obtaining a stable li/LLZTO interface,which would promote the development of solid-state batteries.

Spinel MnCo_(2)O_(4) is a promising energy storage candidate as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries owing to synergistic effects of two intrinsic solid-state redox ***,low conductivity,poor rate capacity and rapid capacity fading have seriously impaired its practical *** overcome the inferiorities,urchin-like MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C core–shell nanowire arrays have been fabricated directly within a porous copper current collector via a facile hydrothermal method followed by a chemical vapor deposition carbonization *** a typical nanowire,the core is composed of interconnected MnCo_(2)O_(4)nanoparticles and the shell shows as a thin amorphous carbon *** integrated MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu structure could act as working anodes without using additives or polymer *** MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu possesses slightly longer li-ion insertion/desertion pathway than that of MnCo_(2)O_(4)/Cu,the carbon shell could effectively prevent the pulverization of MnCo_(2)O_(4) and lower down charge transfer resistance and actively participate in li-ion *** rearrangement of carbon atoms during lithiation/delithiation cycling could inhibit the formation of passive solid electrolyte interphase *** a result,the MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu electrode presents superior rate capacity(600 mAh·g^(−1) at 1 A·g^(−1)) and better stability(797 mAh·g^(−1) after 200 cycles at 100 mA·g^(−1)).The excellent reversible li ion storage capacity,cycling stability and rate capacity endow MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu great potential as stable and high output integrated anode materials in li-ion batteries.

Isotopic dependence of the yield ratios of light fragments from different projectiles and their unified neutron skin thicknesses

The yield ratios of neutron-proton(R(n/p))and^(3)H-^(3)He(R(^(3)H∕^(3)He))with reduced rapidity from 0 to 0.5 were simulated at 50 MeV/u even-even ^(36−56)Ca+^(40)Ca,even-even ^(48−78)Ni+^(58)Ni,and ^(100−139)Sn(every third isotopes)+112 Sn for full reduced impact parameters using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics(IQMD)*** neutron and proton density distributions and root-mean-square radii of the reaction systems were obtained using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model,which was used for the phase space initialization of the projectile and target in *** defined the unified neutron skin thickness asΔRnp=^(1∕2) n−^(1∕2)p,which was negative for neutron-deficient *** unifiedΔRnp values for nuclei with the same relative neutron excess from different isotopic chains were nearly equal,except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,which is a type of scaling *** yield ratios of the three isotopic chain-induced reactions,which depended on the reduced impact parameter and unified neutron skin thickness,were *** results showed that both R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)decreased with a reduced impact parameter for extreme neutron-deficient isotopes;however,they increased with reduced impact parameters for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,and increased with theΔRnp of the projectiles for all reduced impact *** addition,a scaling phenomenon was observed betweenΔR np and the yield ratios in peripheral colli-sions from different isotopic chain projectiles(except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes).Thus,R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)from peripheral collisions were suggested as experimental probes for extracting the neutron or proton skin thicknesses of non-extreme neutron-rich nuclei from different isotopic chains.

AIM To investigate changes in gut microbiota and metabolism during nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) development in mice fed a methionine-choline-deficient(MCD) diet. METHODS Twenty-four male C57 BL/6 J mice were equally divided into four groups and fed a methionine-choline-sufficient diet for 2 wk(Control 2 w group,n = 6) or 4 wk(Control 4 w group,n = 6) or the MCD diet for 2 wk(MCD 2 w group,n = 6) or 4 wk(MCD 4 w group,n = 6). liver injury,fibrosis,and intestinal barrier function were evaluated after 2 and 4 wk of feeding. The fecal microbiome and metabolome were studied using 16 s r RNA deep sequencing and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. RESULTS The mice fed the MCD diet presented with simple hepatic steatosis and slight intestinal barrier deterioration after 2 wk. After 4 wk of feeding with the MCD diet,however,the mice developed prominent NASH with liver fibrosis,and the intestinal barrier was more impaired. Compared with the control diet,the MCD diet induced gradual gut microbiota dysbiosis,as evidenced by a marked decrease in the abundance of Alistipes and the(Eubacterium) coprostanoligenes group(P lic acid,cholesterol,arachidic acid,tetracosane,and stearic acid were selected. CONCLUSION The MCD diet induced persistent alterations in the gut microbiota and metabolome.

The alloy-type material Sb is widely used in the anode materials of lithium-ion batteries(liBs)due to its high theoretical specific ***,its serious volume expansion problem during alloying/dealloying of li~+limits its practical *** this work,C-Sb composite was constructed as anode material of liBs by electrospinning route for the first time,Sb was introduced into the polyacrylonitrile-based hard carbon and coal tar pitch-based soft carbon composite amorphous carbon fiber with a diameter of 300-600 nm,which realized high cycling *** C-Sb-2(the mass ratio of polyacrylonitrile to Sb source is 1:2)electrode displayed charge capacities of 1098.5,930.3,841.7,753.5,643.9 and 545.8 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1,0.2,0.3,0.5,1 and 2 A·g^(-1),*** when the current density returned to 0.1 A·g^(-1),the charge capacity was 939.3 mAh·g^(-1),revealing good stability and *** introduction of Sb into the amorphous carbon improved its conductivity and addressed the volume expansion issue of high specific capacity Sb during charge/***-situ XRD analysis confirmed the high reversibility of the C-Sb-2 during charging and *** functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed the gradual enhancement of the interface interaction between Sb_(x)li_(y) and amorphous carbon(AMC)with increasing lithium content,contributing to the anchoring of alloy nanoparticles on the AMC surface and buffering the volume change of the ***,the gradual lithiation of Sb facilitated the electron transfer from Sb_(x)li_(y) to *** findings hold promise for designing lithium storage materials with exceptional performance,highlighting the potential of C-Sb composites as anode materials for efficient next-generation lithium storage.

The Role of Underlying Boundary Forcing in Shaping the Recent Decadal Change of Persistent Anomalous Activity over the Ural Mountains

Observational analyses demonstrate that the Ural persistent positive height anomaly event(PAE) experienced a decadal increase around the year 2000, exhibiting a southward displacement afterward. These decadal variations are related to a large-scale circulation shift over the Eurasian Continent. The effects of underlying sea ice and sea surface temperature(SST) anomalies on the Ural PAE and the related atmospheric circulation were explored by Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project(AMIP) experiments from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 and by sensitivity experiments using the Atmospheric General Circulation Model(AGCM). The AMIP experiment results suggest that the underlying sea ice and SST anomalies play important roles. The individual contributions of sea ice loss in the Barents-Kara Seas and the SST anomalies linked to the phase transition of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation(PDO) and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation(AMO) are further investigated by AGCM sensitivity experiments isolating the respective *** sea ice decline in Barents-Kara Seas triggers an atmospheric wave train over the Eurasian mid-to-high latitudes with positive anomalies over the Urals, favoring the occurrence of Ural PAEs. The shift in the PDO to its negative phase triggers a wave train propagating downstream from the North Pacific. One positive anomaly lobe of the wave train is located over the Ural Mountains and increases the PAE there. The negative-to-positive transition of the AMO phase since the late-1990s causes positive 500-h Pa height anomalies south of the Ural Mountains, which promote a southward shift of Ural PAE.
