An underwater vest containing an antioxidant MXene hydrogel for sensitive recognition of fish locomotion

The perception of fish locomotion is important for understanding their adaptive behaviors and ethological characteristics.However,the main strategy used for extracting fish attitudes involves the use of a vision-based monitoring system,which is limited in its range of observation and cannot perform tracking for long times.Here,we report the use of a wearable tagging electronic device,referred to as an underwater vest,to capture the surrounding flow field disturbances triggered by swimming or momentary postural changes.All of these goals were achieved by integrating a pair of pseudocapacitive pressure-sensing units and a flexible circuit board.Notably,additional conditions,such as variable hydraulic pressures and minimal changes in fish posture,require high stability and sensitivity of the sensing units.Thus,hybrid hydrogel electrodes were developed through cross-linking MXene with holey-reduced graphene oxide nanosheets and further modification with 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide ionic liquids,which increased the interfacial capacitance and long-term interfacial activity of the MXene.Consequently,the sensing unit exhibited ultrahigh sensitivity(S_(max)~136,207 kPa^(−1))in an aquatic environment for 60 days and superior high-pressure resolution(10 Pa)within a wide working range of 1 MPa.Ultimately,an underwater vest integrated with such sensing units clearly distinguished and recorded fish locomotion.We believe that the designed device may open avenues in flow field monitoring and ocean current detection and provide new insights into the development of sensitive underwater tagging.

An efficient N–H and C(sp~3)-H functionalization of aryl ketones with benzylamines/amino acids was developed under mild conditions by virtue of anodic oxidation. A variety of functionalized 2,5-diaryloxazoles were obtained with good to excellent yields. Moreover, some important natural products can be prepared by this method. The reaction features a broad substrate scope, scalability, metal-free and chemical oxidant-free.

Efficient capture,safe storage and release of tritium from the international thermonuclear experimental reactor(ITER) reaction exhaust gas is a perplexing problem,and the development of an efficient tritium-getter material with ultra-low hydrogenation equilibrium pressure is considered as a reliable way.In this work,Zr_(2)Co alloy was selected as a tritium-getter material and prepared through induction levitation melting.Fundamental performance test results show that Zr_(2)Co exhibits an ultra-low hydrogenation equilibrium pressure of 3.22 × 10^(-6) Pa at 25℃ and excellent hydriding kinetics under a low hydrogen pressure of 0.005 MPa.Interestingly,unique phase transition behaviors were presented in Zr_(2)Co-H system.Specifically,Zr_(2)CoH_(5) formed by Zr_(2)Co hydrogenated at room temperature is initially decomposed into ZrH_(2) and ZrCoH_(3) at200 ℃.With the temperature increasing to 350 ℃,ZrCoH_(3)is dehydrogenated to ZrCo,and then ZrCo further reacts with ZrH_(2) at 650 ℃ to reform Zr_(2)Co and hydrogen.Among the staged phase transition pathways during dehydrogenation,the decomposition of Zr_(2)CoH_(5) occurs preferentially,which is well accordance with both the smallest reaction energy barrier and the maximum reaction spontaneity that are determined respectively from kinetics activation energy and thermodynamics Gibbs free energy.Furthermore,first principles calculation results indicate that the stronger binding of hydrogen in interstitial environments of ZrCoH_(3)and ZrH_(2) triggers the hydrogen-stabilized phase transformation of Zr_(2)CoH_(5).The unique phase transition mechanisms in Zr_(2)Co-H system can shed light on the further exploration and regulation of analogous staged phase transition of hydrogen storage materials.

Alumina–spinel refractories used in slit-type purging plugs are susceptible to cross-sectional damage,resulting in a serious mismatch between their service life and that of ladle.Alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories have gradually become the new trend in purging plug materials with the development of refining technology.The thermomechanical damage of slit-type purging plugs with alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractory was investigated by the thermo-solid coupling simulation.Combined with the polynomial fitting and design of experiments methods,the influence of thermophysical parameters on temperature and thermal stress of alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories for purging plugs was systematically analyzed.The results show that the maximum thermal stress of the purging plugs appears during the stages of steel transporting and stirring,and the vulnerable parts are located above Y=0.323 m.The thermal conductivity and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the material are the most sensitive parameters to the temperature and thermal stress inside the structure,respectively.The addition of more calcium hexaluminate can relieve the stress concentration and large deformation around the slits.Consequently,when the content of calcium hexaluminate is 47 wt.%and in the form of aggregate-binder,the temperature and thermal stress distribution inside the refractory are optimal,which can effectively improve the service life of the slit-type purging plug.

High-entropy materials(HEMs),which are newly manufactured compounds that contain five or more metal cations,can be a platform with desired properties,including improved electrocatalytic performance owing to the inherent complexity.Here,a strain engineering methodology is proposed to design transition-metal-based HEM by Li manipulation(LiTM)with tunable lattice strain,thus tailoring the electronic structure and boosting electrocatalytic performance.As confirmed by the experiments and calculation results,tensile strain in the LiTM after Li manipulation can optimize the d-band center and increase the electrical conductivity.Accordingly,the asprepared LiTM-25 demonstrates optimized oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction activity in alkaline saline water,requiring ultralow overpotentials of 265 and 42 mV at 10 mA cm−2,respectively.More strikingly,LiTM-25 retains 94.6%activity after 80 h of a durability test when assembled as an anion-exchange membrane water electrolyzer.Finally,in order to show the general efficacy of strain engineering,we incorporate Li into electrocatalysts with higher entropies as well.

The rich phase behavior of block copolymers(BCPs)has drawn great attention in recent years.However,the double diamond(DD)phase is rarely obtained because of the competition between the minimization of interfacial energy and packing frustration.Here,a rod-coil BCP containing mesogen-jacketed liquid crystalline polymer is designed to acquire ordered bicontinuous network nanostructures.The reduction of internal energy originating from the orientational interaction among the rod blocks can compensate for the free energy penalty of packing frustration to stabilize the DD structure.The resulting BCP can also experience lamellae-to-DD and double gyroid-to-lamellae transitions by changing the annealing temperature.These results make the rod-coil BCP an excellent candidate for the self-assembly of ordered network structures,demonstrating great potential in nanopatterning and metamaterials.

Hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy(HAIC)has good clinical efficacy in the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC);however,its efficacy varies.This review summarized the ability of various markers to predict the efficacy of HAIC and provided a reference for clinical applications.As of October 25,2023,51 articles have been retrieved based on keyword predictions and HAIC.Sixteen eligible articles were selected for inclusion in this study.Comprehensive literature analysis found that methods used to predict the efficacy of HAIC include serological testing,gene testing,and imaging testing.The above indicators and their combined forms showed excellent predictive effects in retrospective studies.This review summarized the strategies currently used to predict the efficacy of HAIC in middle and advanced HCC,analyzed each marker's ability to predict HAIC efficacy,and provided a reference for the clinical application of the prediction system.

Retinitis pigmentosa(RP)is a group of genetic disorders characterized by progressive degeneration of photoreceptors and retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)cells.Its main clinical manifestations include night blindness and progressive loss of peripheral vision,making it a prevalent debilitating eye disease that significantly impacts patients’quality of life.RP exhibits significant phenotypic and genetic heterogeneity.For instance,numerous abnormal genes are implicated in RP,resulting in varying clinical presentations,disease progression rates,and pathological characteristics among different patients.Consequently,gene therapy for RP poses challenges due to these complexities.However,stem cells have garnered considerable attention in the field of RPE therapy since both RPE cells and photoreceptors can be derived from stem cells.In recent years,a large number of animal experiments and clinical trials based on stem cell transplantation attempts,especially cord blood mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)transplantation and bone marrow-derived MSC transplantation,have confirmed that stem cell therapy can effectively and safely improve the outer retinal function of the RP-affected eye.However,stem cell therapy also has certain limitations,such as the fact that RP patients may involve multiple types of retinal cytopathia,which brings great challenges to stem cell transplantation therapy,and further research is needed to solve various problems faced by this approach in the clinic.Through comprehensive analysis of the etiology and histopathological changes associated with RP,this study substantiates the efficacy and safety of stem cell therapy based on rigorous animal experimentation and clinical trials,while also highlighting the existing limitations that warrant further investigation.

Large-Area Gravure-Printed AgNWs Electrode on Water/Oxygen Barrier Substrate for Long-Term Stable Large-Area Flexible Organic Solar Cells

Large-area AgNWs electrodes(25 cm×10 cm)were fabricated through roll-to-roll printing on the polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)modified water and oxygen barrier substrate.The modification of the barrier film with PVA improved the wettability of silver nanowires on the barrier films and led to the formation of homogenous large-area AgNWs networks.The mechanical flexibility,especially the adhesion force between the silver electrode and the barrier film substrate was dramatically improved through PVA modification.The efficiency of 13.51%for the flexible OSCs with an area of 0.64 cm2 was achieved based on the PET/barrier film/PVA/AgNWs electrode.The long-term stability showed the flexible OSCs based on the PET/barrier film/PVA/AgNWs electrode have a significantly improved stability relative to the device on PET/AgNWs electrode,and comparable air stability as the rigid device with glass/ITO device.The unencapsulated devices maintained nearly 50%of the original efficiency after storage for 600 h in air.After a simple top encapsulation,the flexible devices remained at 60%of the initial efficiency after 2000 h in the air.Therefore,the flexible AgNWs electrode based on the barrier film would have the potential to improve the air storage stability of organic flexible solar cells.
