Identifying influential spreaders in complex networks based on entropy weight method and gravity law

In complex networks,identifying influential spreader is of great significance for improving the reliability of networks and ensuring the safe and effective operation of ***,it is widely used in power networks,aviation networks,computer networks,and social networks,and so *** centrality methods mainly include degree centrality,closeness centrality,betweenness centrality,eigenvector centrality,k-shell,***,single centrality method is onesided and inaccurate,and sometimes many nodes have the same centrality value,namely the same ranking result,which makes it difficult to distinguish between *** to several classical methods of identifying influential nodes,in this paper we propose a novel method that is more full-scaled and universally *** into account in this method are several aspects of node’s properties,including local topological characteristics,central location of nodes,propagation characteristics,and properties of neighbor *** view of the idea of the multi-attribute decision-making,we regard the basic centrality method as node’s attribute and use the entropy weight method to weigh different attributes,and obtain node’s combined ***,the combined centrality is applied to the gravity law to comprehensively identify influential nodes in ***,the classical susceptible-infected-recovered(SIR)model is used to simulate the epidemic spreading in six real-society *** proposed method not only considers the four topological properties of nodes,but also emphasizes the influence of neighbor nodes from the aspect of *** is proved that the new method can effectively overcome the disadvantages of single centrality method and increase the accuracy of identifying influential nodes,which is of great significance for monitoring and controlling the complex networks.

Exploring individuals’ effective preventive measures against epidemics through reinforcement learning

Individuals’ preventive measures,as an effective way to suppress epidemic transmission and to protect themselves from infection,have attracted much academic concern,especially during the COVID-19 *** this paper,a reinforcement learning-based model is proposed to explore individuals’ effective preventive measures against *** extensive simulations,we find that the cost of preventive measures influences the epidemic transmission process *** infection scale increases as the cost of preventive measures grows,which means that the government needs to provide preventive measures with low cost to suppress the epidemic *** addition,the effective preventive measures vary from individual to individual according to the social *** who contact with others frequently in daily life are highly recommended to take strict preventive measures to protect themselves from infection,while those who have little social contacts do not need to take any measures considering the inevitable *** research contributes to exploring the effective measures for individuals,which can provide the government and individuals useful suggestions in response to epidemics.

Dynamics and control strategies of infectious disease under different scenarios on hierarchical geographical networks

Human settlements are embedded in traffic networks with hierarchical structures. In order to understand the spreading mechanism of infectious diseases and deploy control measures, the susceptible-infected-removed spreading process is studied with agents moving globally on the hierarchical geographic network, taking into account agents’ preference for node layers and memory of initial nodes. We investigate the spreading behavior in the case of global infection under different scenarios, including different directions of human flow, different locations of infection source, and different moving behaviors of agents between layers. Based on the above-mentioned analysis, we propose screening strategies based on layer rank and moving distance, and compare their effects on delaying epidemic spreading. We find that in the case of global infection,infection spreads faster in high layers than in low layers, and early infection in high layers and moving to high layers both accelerate epidemic spreading. Travels of high-layer and low-layer residents have different effects on accelerating epidemic spreading, and moving between high and low layers increases the peak value of new infected cases more than moving in the same layer or between adjacent layers. Infection in intermediate nodes enhances the effects of moving of low-layer residents more than the moving of high-layer residents on accelerating epidemic spreading. For screening measures, improving the success rate is more effective on delaying epidemic spreading than expanding the screening range. With the same number of moves screened, screening moves into or out of high-layer nodes combined with screening moves between subnetworks has better results than only screening moves into or out of high-layer nodes, and screening long-distance moves has the worst results when the screening range is small, but it achieves the best results in reducing the peak value of new infected cases when the screening range is large enough. Quick and automatic detection of co-seismic landslides with multifeature deep learning model

Co-seismic landslide detection is essential for post-disaster rescue and risk assessment after an earthquake ***,a variety of ground objects,including roads and bare land,have spectral characteristics similar to those of co-seismic landslides,making it difficult to gather information and assess their impact rapidly and ***,an automatic detection method based on a deep learning model,named ENVINet5,with multiple features(ENVINet5_MF)was proposed to solve this problem and improve the detection accuracy of co-seismic *** ENVINet5_MF method is advantageous for co-seismic landslide detection because it features a landslide gain index(LGI)that effectively eliminates the spectral interference of bare land and *** conducted two experiments using multi-temporal PlanetScope images acquired in Hokkaido,Japan,and Mainling,*** accuracy evaluation and rationality analysis show that ENVINet5_MF performed better than comparative methods and that the co-seismic landslide areas detected by ENVINet5_MF were the most consistent with ground reference *** findings of this study suggest that ENVINet5_MF can provide an efficient and accurate method for coseismic landslide detection to ensure a rapid response to co-seismic landslide disasters.

Internal flow in sessile droplets induced by substrate oscillation:towards enhanced mixing and mass transfer in microfluidic systems

The introduction of flows within sessile droplets is highly effective for many lab-on-a-chip chemical and biomedical ***,generating such flows is difficult due to the typically small droplet ***,we present a simple,non-contact strategy to generate internal flows in sessile droplets for enhancing mixing and mass *** flows are driven by actuating a rigid substrate into oscillation with certain amplitude distributions without relying on the resonance of the droplet *** oscillation characteristics and corresponding flow patterns are documented *** indices and mass transfer coefficients of sessile droplets on the substrate surface are measured using optical and electrochemical *** demonstrate complete mixing within the droplets in 1.35 s and increases in mass transfer rates of more than seven times static *** of concept was conducted with experiments of silver nanoparticle synthesis and with heavy metal ion sensing employing the sessile droplet as a microreactor for synthesis and an electrochemical cell for *** degrees of enhancement of synthesis efficiency and detection sensitivity attributed to the internal flows are experimentally documented.

Local saliency consistency-based label inference for weakly supervised salient object detection using scribble annotations

Recently,weak supervision has received growing attention in the field of salient object detection due to the convenience of ***,there is a large performance gap between weakly supervised and fully supervised salient object detectors because the scribble annotation can only provide very limited foreground/background ***,an intuitive idea is to infer annotations that cover more complete object and background regions for *** this end,a label inference strategy is proposed based on the assumption that pixels with similar colours and close positions should have consistent ***,k-means clustering algorithm was first performed on both colours and coordinates of original annotations,and then assigned the same labels to points having similar colours with colour cluster centres and near coordinate cluster ***,the same annotations for pixels with similar colours within each kernel neighbourhood was set *** experiments on six benchmarks demonstrate that our method can significantly improve the performance and achieve the state-of-the-art results.

A new scheme of climate-vegetation regionalization in the Hengduan Mountains Region

The Hengduan Mountains Region(HMR) is essential for the future ecological protection, clean energy production,Sichuan-Xizang and Yunnan-Xizang railways, and other major infrastructure projects in China. The distributions of climate and vegetation exhibit significant regional differentiation and vertical zonality due to the rugged longitudinal ranges and gorges and the complex disaster-prone environments in HMR. Therefore, it is urgent to develop the climate-vegetation regionalization in HMR to effectively satisfy the national requirements such as agricultural production and ecological protection, mountain disaster risk prevention, and major project construction. We here develop a new scheme of climate-vegetation regionalization with the latest demarcation outcome of HMR, the ground observation from 122 meteorological stations in HMR and its surrounding areas during 1990–2019, and the high-precision remote sensing data of land cover types. The new scheme first constructs the regionalization index system, fully considering the extraordinarily complicated geomorphic pattern of mountains and valleys, the scarcity of meteorological observations, and the remarkable differentiation of climate and vegetation in HMR. The system consists of three primary regionalization indices(i.e., days with daily average temperature steady above 10°C, aridity index, and main vegetation types, dividing the temperature zones, moisture regions, and vegetation subregions, respectively) and three auxiliary indices of the accumulated temperature above 10°C, and the temperatures in January and July. Then, the HMR is divided into five temperature zones, 20 moisture regions, and 55 vegetation subregions. Compared with previous regionalization schemes, the new scheme optimizes the climate spatial interpolation model of thin plate smoothing spline suitable for the unique terrain in HMR. Infrared dust bubbles play an important role in the study of star formation and the evolution of the interstellar *** this work,we study the infrared dust bubble N75 and the infrared dark cloud G38.93 mainly using the tracers C^(18)O,HCO^(+),HNC and N_(2)H^(+)observed by the 30 m IRAM *** also study the targets using data from large-scale surveys:GLIMPSE,MIPSGAL,GRS,NRAO VLA Sky Survey and Bolocam Galactic Plane *** found that the C^(18)O emission is morphologically similar to the Spitzer IRAC 8.0μm ***1.1 mm cold dust emission of G38.93 shows an elongated structure from southwest to *** ionized gas from G38.93 is surrounded by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon emission,which may be excited by radiation from *** found that the identified young stellar objects tend to cluster around G38.93 and are mostly in class II with several class I cases distributed around N75,but no class II *** also found evidence of expanding feedback,which could have triggered star formation.
