Phylogeography of the desert scorpion illuminates a route out of Central Asia

A comprehensive understanding of phylogeography requires the integration of knowledge across different organisms,ecosystems,and geographic ***,a critical knowledge gap exists in the arid biota of the vast Asian *** narrow this gap,here we test an“out-of-Central Asia”hypothesis for the desert scorpion Mesobuthus mongolicus by combining Bayesian phylogeographic reconstruction and ecological niche *** analyses of one mitochondrial and three nuclear loci and molecular dating revealed that *** represents a coherent lineage that diverged from its most closely related lineage in Central Asia about 1.36 Ma and underwent radiation ever *** phylogeographic reconstruction indicated that the ancestral population dispersed from Central Asia gradually eastward to the Gobi region via the Junggar Basin,suggesting that the Junggar Basin has severed as a corridor for Quaternary faunal exchange between Central Asia and East *** major dispersal events occurred probably during interglacial periods(around 0.8 and 0.4 Ma,respectively)when climatic conditions were analogous to present-day status,under which the scorpion achieved its maximum distributional *** underwent demographic expansion during the Last Glacial Maximum,although the predicted distributional areas were smaller than those at present and during the Last *** of desert ecosystems in northwest China incurred by intensified aridification might have opened up empty habitats that sustained population *** results extend the spatiotemporal dimensions of trans-Eurasia faunal exchange and suggest that species’adaptation is an important determinant of their phylogeographic and demographic responses to climate changes.

Statistical measures of genetic differentiation of populations： Rationales, history and current states

Population differentiation is a fundamental process of evolution, and many evolutionary studies, such as population genetics, phylogeography and conservation biology, all require the inference of population differentiation. Recently, there has been a lot of debate over the validity ofFST(and its analogueGST) as a measure for population genetic differentiation, notably since the proposal of the new indexDin 2008. Although several papers reviewed or explored specific features of these statistical measures, a succinct account of this bewildering issue with an overall update appears to be desirable. This is the purpose of the present review. The available statistics generally fall into two categories, represented byFSTandD, respectively. None of them is perfect in measuring population genetic differentiation. Nevertheless, they each have advantages and are valuable for current research. In practice, both indices should be calculated and a comparison of them can generate useful insights into the evolutionary processes that influence population ***(GST) has some unique irreplaceable characteristics assuring its standing as the default measure for the foreseeable near future. Also, it will continue to serve as the standard for any alternative measures to contrast with. Instead of being anxious about making choice between these indices, one should pay due attention to the equilibrium status and the level of diversity (especiallyHS) of the populations, since they largely sway the power of a given statistic to address a specific question. We provide a multi-faceted comparative summary of the various statistics, which can serve as a basic reference for readers to guide their applications.

Calcitonin gene-related peptide inhibits neuronal apoptosis in heatstroke rats via PKA/p-CREB pathway

In this paper,we investigate local properties in the system of completely integral mapping *** introduce notions of injectivity,local reflexivity,exactness,nuclearity,finite-represent ability and WEP in the system of completely integral mapping *** we obtain that any finite-dimensional operator space is injective in the system of completely integral mapping *** we prove that C is the unique nuclear operator space and the unique exact operator space in this *** also show that C is the unique operator space which is finitely representable in{T_(n)}n∈Nin this *** corollaries,Kirchberg’s conjecture and QWEP conjecture in the system of completely integral mapping spaces are false.

A simple and reliable method for discriminating between Helicoverpa armigera and Helicoverpa assulta （Lepidoptera： Noctuidae）

The cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera and the oriental tobacco budworm H. assulta are sibling species, both being important agricultural pests. Morphologically, the two insects are almost indistinguishable at the egg, larval and pupal stages. One of the big challenges in the study of these insects, in particular in integrated pest management, is a timely and dependable identification of these insects at their early stages of development. Here, we report a H. armigera-specific nuclear DNA marker, and demonstrate that it can be employed to reliably discriminate between 1-1. armigera and 11. assulta by simple polymerase chain reaction amplification experiment.

Insights into photocatalytic mechanism over a novel Cu2WS4/MoS2 S-scheme heterojunction

A novel efficient Cu2WS4/MoS2step-scheme（S-scheme） heterojunction photocatalyst was constructed for the first time and applied in the removal of environmental *** the as-prepared photocatalysts,the Cu2WS4/MoS2-8 % heterojunc tion photoc atalyst demonstrates the optimal photocatalytic performance,with the catalytic oxidation efficiency of tetracycline（TC） and the catalytic reduction efficiency of Cr6+reaching 93.3%and 82.1 %,*** excellent catalytic properties of Cu2WS4/MoS2heterojunction photocatalysts are attributed to the effective separation pathways of charges and the presence of S-scheme heterojunctions,together with stronger redox *** is speculated that the photogenerated carrier migration path of the Cu2WS4/MoS2catalyst follows the typical S-scheme photocatalytic mechanism,which is verified by the in-depth experimental study and simulated calculations including the electron paramagnetic resonance（EPR） analysis,free radical quenching experiments,charge density distribution,and simulated built-in electric field formation at the interface,which acts as driving force to promote the separation of photoinduced electrons and ***,the photocatalytic mechanism of S-scheme photogenerated carrier migration for the Cu2WS4/MoS2catalyst is revealed based on the systematic experimental techniques and simulated calculations,accounting for its superior photocatalytic oxidation and reduction *** study provides inspiring implications to develop high-efficient S-scheme photocatalytic systems for versatile applications in solarenergy conversion.

SciCN:A Scientific Dataset for Chinese Named Entity Recognition

Named entity recognition(NER)is a fundamental task of information extraction(IE),and it has attracted considerable research attention in recent *** abundant annotated English NER datasets have significantly promoted the NER research in the English *** contrast,much fewer efforts are made to the Chinese NER research,especially in the scientific domain,due to the scarcity of Chinese NER *** alleviate this problem,we present aChinese scientificNER dataset–SciCN,which contains entity annotations of titles and abstracts derived from 3,500 scientific *** manually annotate a total of 62,059 entities,and these entities are classified into six *** to English scientific NER datasets,SciCN has a larger scale and is more diverse,for it not only contains more paper abstracts but these abstracts are derived from more research *** investigate the properties of SciCN and provide baselines for future research,we adapt a number of previous state-of-theart Chinese NER models to evaluate *** results show that SciCN is more challenging than other Chinese NER *** addition,previous studies have proven the effectiveness of using lexicons to enhance Chinese NER *** by this fact,we provide a scientific domain-specific *** results demonstrate that our lexicon delivers better performance gains than lexicons of other *** hope that the SciCN dataset and the lexicon will enable us to benchmark the NER task regarding the Chinese scientific domain and make progress for future *** dataset and lexicon are available at:https://***/yangjingla/***.

A 16-bit 18-MSPS flash-assisted SAR ADC with hybrid synchronous and asynchronous control logic

This paper presents a 16-bit,18-MSPS(million samples per second)flash-assisted successive-approximation-register(SAR)analog-to-digital converter(ADC)utilizing hybrid synchronous and asynchronous(HYSAS)timing control logic based on an on-chip delay-locked loop(DLL).The HYSAS scheme can provide a longer settling time for the capacitive digital-to-analog converter(CDAC)than the synchronous and asynchronous SAR ***,the issue of incomplete settling or ringing in the DAC voltage for cases of either on-chip or off-chip reference voltage can be solved to a large *** addition,the fore-ground calibration of the CDAC’s mismatch is performed with a finite-impulse-response bandpass filter(FIR-BPF)based least-mean-square(LMS)algorithm in an off-chip FPGA(field programmable gate array).Fabricated in 40-nm CMOS process,the proto-type ADC achieves 94.02-dB spurious-free dynamic range(SFDR),and 75.98-dB signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio(SNDR)for a 2.88-MHz input under 18-MSPS sampling rate.

BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(UC),also known as chronic nonspecific UC,is an inflammatory bowel disease characterized by diffuse colonic mucosal *** incidence and prevalence of UC have risen markedly,and the disease seriously affects the quality of life of patients,and poses a great burden on the world health care infrastructure and *** SUMMARY We present a 60-year-old man who had ulcerative colitis for more than 10 years,with recurrent abdominal pain,bloody diarrhea with mucopurulent *** treatments with sulfasalazine,mesalazine,and traditional Chinese medicine were not effective,and herbs-partitioned moxibustion(HPM)was then applied at“Zhongwan”(RN12),“Tianshu”(ST25),and“Qihai”(RN6)once a day for about 30 min,3 times per week,for 6 *** main clinical symptoms of abdominal pain,bloody diarrhea with mucopurulent stool gradually improved,and the mucosa had nearly healed,as observed under endoscopy by the 6th *** patient’s condition was alleviated without relapsing during the subsequent 3-mo follow-up *** showed a significant effect in the treatment of ulcerative colitis in this case,and the effect would help the patient to maintain remission for at least 3 *** A series of symptoms of this UC patient significantly improved with the treatment of HPM.
