Age-dependent changes of total and differential white blood cell counts in children

Background:Total and differential white blood cell counts are important for the diagnostic evaluation of suspected *** facilitate the interpretation of total and differential white blood cell counts in pediatric patients,the present study investigated agedependent changes in total and differential white blood cell counts in healthy reference ***:Data were obtained from the Pediatric Reference Intervals in China study(PRINCE),which aims to establish and verify pediatric reference intervals for Chinese children based on a nationwide multicenter cross-sectional study from January 2017 to December *** curves were calculated using the generalized additive models for location,shape,and scale *** 2.5th,50th,and 97.5th quantile curves were calculated for both total and differential white blood *** of stacked area charts were used to demonstrate the proportions of differential white blood *** statistical analyses were performed using R ***:Both 50th and 97.5th quantiles of total white blood cell count and monocyte count were highest at birth,then rapidly decreased in the first 6 months of life;relatively slow reduction continued until 2 years of *** lymphocyte count was low during infancy and increased to its highest level at 6 months of age;it then exhibited moderate and continuous reduction until approximately 9 years of *** pattern of neutrophil count changed with age in a manner opposite to that of lymphocyte ***,there were two inter-sections of lymphocyte count and neutrophil count during infancy and at approximately 5 years of age,based on locally weighted regression(LOESS)*** were no apparent age-related changes in eosinophil or basophil ***:These data regarding age-related changes in total and differential white blood cell counts can be used to assess the health of pediatric patients and guide clinical decisions.

Catalytic reduction of SO_2 by CO over CeO_2-TiO_2 mixed oxides

The structure and catalytic desulfurization characteristics of CeO2-TiO2 mixed oxides were investigated by means ofX-ray diffraction （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and catalytic activity tests. According to the results, a CeO2-TiO2solid solution is formed when the mole ratio of cerium to titanium n（Ce）：n（Ti） is 5：5 or greater, and the most suitable n（Ce）：n（Ti） isdetermined as 7：3, over which the conversion rate of SO2 and the yield of sulfur at 500℃ reach 93% and 99%, *** to the activity testing curve, Ce0.7Ti0.3O2 （n（Ce）：n（Ti）=7：3） without any pretreatment can be gradually activated by reagentgas after about 10 min, and reaches a steady activation status 60 min later. The XPS results of Ce0.7Ti0.3O2 after different time ofSO2＋CO reaction show that CeO2 is the active component that offers the redox couple Ce4＋/Ce3＋ and the labile oxygen vacancies, andTiO2 only functions as a catalyst structure stabilizer during the catalytic reaction process. After 48 h of catalytic reaction at 500℃,Ce0.7Ti0.3O2 still maintains a stable structure without being vulcanized, demonstrating its good anti-sulfur poisoning performance.

Cutaneous nerve regeneration in diabetic wounds remains a challenge for current clinical ***,a natural protein-based functional hydrogel is developed using keratin as the sole matrix,and protocatechuic aldehyde(PA)and zinc ions as the building blocks through dual-dynamic crosslinking reactions of thiol-aldehyde addition and catecholzinc ions *** unique structural design endows the hydrogel with excellent injectability,skin adhesion,self-healing and antibacterial ability,and *** addition,this hydrogel acts as a drug carrier for the loading and sustained release of phellopterin(PP),a natural compound extracted from traditional Chinese medicine Angelica *** findings demonstrate that the PP-loaded hydrogel promotes cutaneous nerve regeneration,angiogenesis and tissue remodeling in the full-thickness wounds in both db/db and streptozotocin-induced C57BL/6 diabetic mice,notably by the synergistic effect of zinc ions and PP,showing a great potential in diabetic wound therapy.

Research performed during the past decade revealed an important role of symmetry energy in the equation of state(EOS)of strange quark matter(SQM).By introducing an isospin-dependent term into the quark mass scaling,the SQM stability window in the equivparticle model was *** results show that a sufficiently strong isospin dependence C_(I)can significantly widen the SQM region of absolute stability,yielding results that simultaneously satisfy the constraints of the astrophysical observations of PSR J1614-2230 with 1.928±0.017 Mand tidal deformability 70≤Λ_(1:4)≤580 measured in the event *** increasing C_(I),the difference between the u,d,and s quark fractions for the SQM inβ-equilibrium becomes inconspicuous for C>0,leading to small isospin asymmetryδ,and further resulting in similar EOS and structures of strange quark stars(SQSs).Moreover,unlike the behavior of the maximum mass of ud QSs,which varies with C_(I)depending on the sign of the parameter C,the maximum mass of the SQSs decreases monotonously with increasing CI.

Molecular simulation study of the microstructures and properties of pyridinium ionic liquid[HPy][BF_(4)]mixed with acetonitrile

The microstructures and thermodynamic properties of mixed systems comprising pyridinium ionic liquid[HPy][BF_(4)]and acetonitrile at different mole fractions were studied using molecular dynamics simulation in this *** following properties were determined:density,self-diffusion coefficient,excess molar volume,and radial distribution *** results show that with an increase in the mole fraction of[HPy][BF_(4)],the self-diffusion coefficient ***,the excess molar volume initially decreases,reaches a minimum,and then *** rules of radial distribution functions(RDFs)of characteristic atoms are *** increasing the mole fraction of[HPy][BF_(4)],the first peak of the RDFs of HA1-F decreases,while that of CT6-CT6 rises at first and then *** indicates that the solvent molecules affect the polar and non-polar regions of[HPy][BF_(4)]differently.

Reaction between Ti–6Al–4V and Y_2O_3–SiO_2 based face shell for investment casting

The pH value and viscosity of Y2O3-SiO2 （Y-Si） slurry made by Y2O3 powders and silica sol for the face coat of Ti-6Al-4V investment casting were measured. The thermal behavior of the shell made by the Y-Si face coat system was investigated by differential scanning calorimeter （DSC）, thermal gravimetric （TG） analysis combined with mass spectrometry （MS）, and the phase transformations were determined by X-ray diffraction （XRD）. Hot strength, residual strength, linear expansion coefficient, and wearing resistance performance of the shell were also tested. The microstructure and elements distri- bution of the interaction layer were studied by scanning electron microscope （SEM） and energy-dispersive spectrometer （EDS）, respectively. The microhardness tester was applied for the microhardness. The results showed that the slurry was stable for at least 60 h. A very small amount of YZrO3 was formed below 1050℃ and Y2SiO5 was formed around 1450℃. The shell made by Y-Si system had good mechanical property which could reduce cracks during the procedure of dewaxing and inclusions during pouring. Some Al volatilized from the melt, permeated the surface of the face coat shell, and formed the black reaction layer, which blocked the permeation of O so that O penetration was limited to 5μm. The depth of Si penetration was about 60 μm. The hard layer was also around 60 μm.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Ternary Complex:[Ni(phen)_2(pmal)]·8H_2O

A new ternary complex [Ni（phen）（pmal）]·8H2O （phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, pmal^2- = phenethyl malonic acid） has been synthesized by the reaction of nickel acetate, phen and phenethyl malonic acid. Elemental analysis, IR spectra and X-ray single-crystal diffraction were carried out to determine the composition and crystal structure. Crystal data for this complex： triclinic system, space group PI^-, a = 10.387（5）, b = 13.112（6）, c = 14.229（6） °A, α= 76.176（7）, β = 83.778（8）, γ = 71.770（6）°, C35H42N4O12Ni, Mr= 769.44, Z = 2, F（000） = 808, V = 1786.1°A^3, Dc = 1.431 g/cm^3,μ= 0.612 mm^-1, the final R = 0.0653 and wR = 0.1033 for 9379 （Rint = 0.0244） independent reflections and 4730 observed reflections （I〉 2σ（I））. Structural analysis shows that the coordination geometry of Ni（Ⅱ） is a distorted octahedron. A novel two-dimensional structure is constructed from （H2O）4 and （H2O）12 water clusters, and the complex forms a 3-D network supramolecular structure by hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking of neighboring phens.
