Complex adaptive system theory,agent-based modeling,and simulation in dominant technology formation

Dominant technology formation is the key for the hightech industry to“cross the chasm”and gain an established foothold in the market(and hence disrupt the regime).Therefore,a stimulus-response model is proposed to investigate the dominant technology by exploring its formation process and mechanism.Specifically,based on complex adaptive system theory and the basic stimulus-response model,we use a combination of agent-based modeling and system dynamics modeling to capture the interactions between dominant technology and the socio-technical landscape.The results indicate the following:(i)The dynamic interaction is“stimulus-reaction-selection”,which promotes the dominant technology’s formation.(ii)The dominant technology’s formation can be described as a dynamic process in which the adaptation intensity of technology standards increases continuously until it becomes the leading technology under the dual action of internal and external mechanisms.(iii)The dominant technology’s formation in the high-tech industry is influenced by learning ability,the number of adopting users and adaptability.Therein,a“critical scale”of learning ability exists to promote the formation of leading technology:a large number of adopting users can promote the dominant technology’s formation by influencing the adaptive response of technology standards to the socio-technical landscape and the choice of technology standards by the socio-technical landscape.There is a minimum threshold and a maximum threshold for the role of adaptability in the dominant technology’s formation.(iv)The socio-technical landscape can promote the leading technology’s shaping in the high-tech industry,and different elements have different effects.This study promotes research on the formation mechanism of dominant technology in the high-tech industry,presents new perspectives and methods for researchers,and provides essential enlightenment for managers to formulate technology strategies.

Compliance motion control of the hydraulic dual-arm manipulator with adaptive mass estimation of unknown object

Given the limited operating ability of a single robotic arm,dual-arm collaborative operations have become increasingly prominent.Compared with the electrically driven dual-arm manipulator,due to the unknown heavy load,difficulty in measuring contact forces,and control complexity during the closed-chain object transportation task,the hydraulic dual-arm manipulator(HDM)faces more difficulty in accurately tracking the desired motion trajectory,which may cause object deformation or even breakage.To overcome this problem,a compliance motion control method is proposed in this paper for the HDM.The mass parameter of the unknown object is obtained by using an adaptive method based on velocity error.Due to the difficulty in obtaining the actual internal force of the object,the pressure signal from the pressure sensor of the hydraulic system is used to estimate the contact force at the end-effector(EE)of two hydraulic manipulators(HMs).Further,the estimated contact force is used to calculate the actual internal force on the object.Then,a compliance motion controller is designed for HDM closed-chain collaboration.The position and internal force errors of the object are reduced by the feedback of the position,velocity,and internal force errors of the object to achieve the effect of the compliance motion of the HDM,i.e.,to reduce the motion error and internal force of the object.The required velocity and force at the EE of the two HMs,including the position and internal force errors of the object,are inputted into separate position controllers.In addition,the position controllers of the two individual HMs are designed to enable precise motion control by using the virtual decomposition control method.Finally,comparative experiments are carried out on a hydraulic dual-arm test bench.The proposed method is validated by the experimental results,which demonstrate improved object position accuracy and reduced internal force.

Text generation is an essential research area in artificial intelligence(AI)technology and natural language processing and provides key technical support for the rapid development of AI-generated content(AIGC).It is based on technologies such as natural language processing,machine learning,and deep learning,which enable learning language rules through training models to automatically generate text that meets grammatical and semantic requirements.In this paper,we sort and systematically summarize the main research progress in text generation and review recent text generation papers,focusing on presenting a detailed understanding of the technical models.In addition,several typical text generation application systems are presented.Finally,we address some challenges and future directions in AI text generation.We conclude that improving the quality,quantity,interactivity,and adaptability of generated text can help fundamentally advance AI text generation development.

Quick Hosting Capacity Evaluation Based on Distributed Dispatching for Smart Distribution Network Planning with Distributed Generation

The smart distribution network(SDN)is integrat ing increasing distributed generation(DG)and energy storage(ES).Hosting capacity evaluation is important for SDN plan ning with DG.DG and ES are usually invested by users or a third party,and they may form friendly microgrids(MGs)and operate independently.Traditional centralized dispatching meth od no longer suits for hosting capacity evaluation of SDN.A quick hosting capacity evaluation method based on distributed optimal dispatching is proposed.Firstly,a multi-objective DG hosting capacity evaluation model is established,and the host ing capacity for DG is determined by the optimal DG planning schemes.The steady-state security region method is applied to speed up the solving process of the DG hosting capacity evalua tion model.Then,the optimal dispatching models are estab lished for MG and SDN respectively to realize the operating simulation.Under the distributed dispatching strategy,the dual-side optimal operation of SDN-MGs can be realized by several iterations of power exchange requirement.Finally,an SDN with four MGs is conducted considering multiple flexible resources.It shows that the DG hosting capacity of SDN oversteps the sum of the maximum active power demand and the rated branch capacity.Besides,the annual DG electricity oversteps the maximum active power demand value.

Analytical solutions of equatorial geodesic motion in Kerr spacetime

The study of Kerr geodesics has a long history,particularly for those occurring within the equatorial plane,which are generally well-understood.However,when compared with the classification introduced by one of the authors[Phys.Rev.D 105,024075(2022)],it becomes apparent that certain classes of geodesics,such as trapped orbits,still lack analytical solutions.Thus,in this study,we provide explicit analytical solutions for equatorial timelike geodesics in Kerr spacetime,including solutions of trapped orbits,which capture the characteristics of special geodesics,such as the positions and conserved quantities of circular,bound,and deflecting orbits.Specifically,we determine the precise location at which retrograde orbits undergo a transition from counter-rotating to prograde motion due to the strong gravitational effects near a rotating black hole.Interestingly,the trajectory remains prograde for orbits with negative energy despite the negative angular momentum.Furthermore,we investigate the intriguing phenomenon of deflecting orbits exhibiting an increased number of revolutions around the black hole as the turning point approaches the turning point of the trapped orbit.Additionally,we find that only prograde marginal deflecting geodesics are capable of traversing through the ergoregion.In summary,our findings present explicit solutions for equatorial timelike geodesics and offer insights into the dynamics of particle motion in the vicinity of a rotating black hole.

Human-specific insertions play important roles in human phenotypes and diseases.Here we reported a 446-bp insertion(Insert-446)in intron 11 of the TBC1D8B gene,located on chromosome X,and traced its origin to a portion of intron 6 of the EBF1 gene on chromosome 5.Interestingly,Insert-446 was present in the human Neanderthal and Denisovans genomes,and was fixed in humans after human-chimpanzee divergence.We have demonstrated that Insert-446 acts as an enhancer through binding transcript factors that promotes a higher expression of human TBC1D8B gene as compared with orthologs in macaques.In addition,over-expression TBC1D8B promoted cell proliferation and migration through“a dual finger”catalytic mechanism(Arg538 and Gln573)in the TBC domain in vitro and knockdown of TBC1D8B attenuated tumorigenesis in vivo.Knockout of Insert-446 prevented cell proliferation and migration in cancer and normal cells.Our results reveal that the human-specific Insert-446 promotes cell proliferation and migration by upregulating the expression of TBC1D8B gene.These findings provide a significant insight into the effects of human-specific insertions on evolution.

Low-energy-consumption temperature swing system for CO_(2) capture by combining passive radiative cooling and solar heating

Temperature-swing adsorption(TSA)is an effective technique for CO_(2) capture,but the temperature swing procedure is energy-intensive.Herein,we report a low-energy-consumption system by combining passive radiative cooling and solar heating for the uptake of CO_(2) on commercial activated carbons(CACs).During adsorption,the adsorbents are coated with a layer of hierarchically porous poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropene)[P(VdF-HFP)HP],which cools the adsorbents to a low temperature under sunlight through radiative cooling.For desorption,CACs with broad absorption of the solar spectrum are exposed to light irradiation for heating.The heating and cooling processes are completely driven by solar energy.Adsorption tests under mimicked sunlight using the CACs show that the performance of this system is comparable to that of the traditional ones.Furthermore,under real sunlight irradiation,the adsorption capacity of the CACs can be well maintained after multiple cycles.The present work may inspire the development of new temperature swing procedures with little energy consumption.

Achieving high-performance sodium metal anodes: From structural design to reaction kinetic improvement

Sodium metal is one of the ideal anodes for high-performance rechargeable batteries because of its high specific capacity(~1166 mAh·g^(-1)),low reduction potential(-2.71 V compared to standard hydrogen electrodes),and low cost.However,the unstable solid electrolyte interphase,uncontrolled dendrite growth,and inevitable volume expansion hinder the practical application of sodium metal anodes.At present,many strategies have been developed to achieve stable sodium metal anodes.Here,we systematically summarize the latest strategies adopted in interface engineering,current collector design,and the emerging methods to improve the reaction kinetics of sodium deposition processes.First,the strategies of constructing protective layers are reviewed,including inorganic,organic,and mixed protective layers through electrolyte additives or pretreatments.Then,the classification of metal-based,carbon-based,and composite porous frames is discussed,including their function in reducing local deposition current density and the effect of introducing sodiophilic sites.Third,the recent progress of alloys,nanoparticles,and single atoms in improving Na deposition kinetics is systematically reviewed.Finally,the future research direction and the prospect of high-performance sodium metal batteries are proposed.

A Security Trade-Off Scheme of Anomaly Detection System in IoT to Defend against Data-Tampering Attacks

Internet of Things(IoT)is vulnerable to data-tampering(DT)attacks.Due to resource limitations,many anomaly detection systems(ADSs)for IoT have high false positive rates when detecting DT attacks.This leads to the misreporting of normal data,which will impact the normal operation of IoT.To mitigate the impact caused by the high false positive rate of ADS,this paper proposes an ADS management scheme for clustered IoT.First,we model the data transmission and anomaly detection in clustered IoT.Then,the operation strategy of the clustered IoT is formulated as the running probabilities of all ADSs deployed on every IoT device.In the presence of a high false positive rate in ADSs,to deal with the trade-off between the security and availability of data,we develop a linear programming model referred to as a security trade-off(ST)model.Next,we develop an analysis framework for the ST model,and solve the ST model on an IoT simulation platform.Last,we reveal the effect of some factors on the maximum combined detection rate through theoretical analysis.Simulations show that the ADS management scheme can mitigate the data unavailability loss caused by the high false positive rates in ADS.

Inetetamab combined with pyrotinib and chemotherapy in the treatment of breast cancer brain metastasis: A case report

BACKGROUND Breast cancer brain metastasis(BCBM)is an advanced breast disease that is difficult to treat and is associated with a high risk of death.Patient prognosis is usually poor,with reduced quality of life.In this context,we report the case of a patient with HER-2-positive BCBM treated with a macromolecular mAb(ine-tetamab)combined with a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor(TKI).CASE SUMMARY The patient was a 58-year-old woman with a 12-year history of type 2 diabetes.She was compliant with regular insulin treatment and had good blood glucose control.The patient was diagnosed with invasive carcinoma of the right breast(T3N1M0 stage IIIa,HER2-positive type)through aspiration biopsy of the ipsilateral breast due to the discovery of a breast tumor in February 2019.Immunohistochemistry showed ER(-),PR(-),HER-2(3+),and Ki-67(55-60%+).Preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy,i.e.,the AC-TH regimen(epirubicin,cyclophosphamide,docetaxel-paclitaxel,and trastuzumab),was administered for 8 cycles.She underwent modified radical mastectomy of the right breast in November 2019 and received tocilizumab targeted therapy for 1 year.Brain metastasis was found 9 mo after surgery.She underwent brain metastasectomy in August 2020.Immunohistochemistry showed ER(-)and PR.(-),HER-2(3+),and Ki-67(10-20%+).In November 2020,the patient experienced headache symptoms.After an examination,tumor recurrence in the original surgical region of the brain was observed,and the patient was treated with inetetamab,pyrotinib,and capecitabine.Whole-brain radiotherapy was recommended.The patient and her family refused radiotherapy for personal reasons.In September 2021,a routine examination revealed that the brain tumor was considerably larger.The original systemic treatment was continued and combined with intensity-modulated radiation therapy for brain metastases,followed by regular hospitalization and routine examinations.The patient’s condition is generally stable,and she has a relatively high quality of life.This case report demonstrates that
