In recent years,paternity testing in ethnic minority areas in China increases ***,the number of existing genetic markers does not meet the *** objective is to study the information of 22 genetic markers in Mongolian,Tibetan,and Uygur *** genetic polymorphism of 22 short tandem repeat(STR)loci(D10S1435,D11S2368,D12S391,D13S325,D14S608,D15S659,D16S539,D17S1290,D18S535,D19S253,D1S1656,D20S470,D21S1270,D22GATA198B05,D2S1338,D3S3045,D4S2366,D5S2500,D6S477,D7S3048,D8S1132,and D9S925)was estimated in 259 Uyghur,251 Tibetan,and 250 Inner Mongolian individuals from China who were all *** frequencies and forensic parameters were *** Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(HWE)of each locus and the linkage disequilibrium(LD)for all pairwise STR loci were ***,the Nei's genetic distance was used to estimate the genetic heterogeneity between Tibetan,Uyghur,Mongolian,Chinese Northern Han and Chinese Li *** 22 loci showed high genetic polymorphism in the three ethnic *** exact test for the genotype distribution of the markers showed no significant deviation from *** 22 STR loci could be treated as independent loci at the population level in these three ethnic *** short genetic distances were found between the Mongolian and Han and Uygur *** 22 loci had no LD in the three ethnic groups and showed high heterozygosity,providing genetic information and forensic statistics for the Uyghur,Tibetan,and Inner Mongolian *** 22 STR loci will be useful for identification and kinship analysis in these three populations in China.

Non-dimensional analysis on blast wave propagation in foam concrete:Minimum thickness to avoid stress enhancement

Foam concrete is a prospective material in defense engineering to protect structures due to its high energy absorption capability resulted from the long plateau ***,stress enhancement rather than stress mitigation may happen when foam concrete is used as sacrificial claddings placed in the path of an incoming blast *** investigate this interesting phenomenon,a one-dimensional difference model for blast wave propagation in foam concrete is firstly proposed and numerically solved by improving the second-order Godunov *** difference model and numerical algorithm are validated against experimental results including both the stress mitigation and the stress *** difference model is then used to numerically analyze the blast wave propagation and deformation of material in which the effects of blast loads,stress-strain relation and length of foam concrete are *** particular,the concept of minimum thickness of foam concrete to avoid stress enhancement is ***,non-dimensional analysis on the minimum thickness is conducted and an empirical formula is proposed by curve-fitting the numerical data,which can provide a reference for the application of foam concrete in defense engineering.

Complex segregation occurs in a binary particle system with differing particle sizes and densities,particularly when the larger particles are heavier(S–D system,i.e.,size minus density system).Predicting the segregation pattern driven by multiple mechanisms simultaneously is often *** study explores the segregation mechanisms in a quasi-2D circular drum containing a S–D system,realizing a transition between the S-core and Core-and-band patterns by adjusting the drum rotation *** the transition of the segregation pattern,only the S-core pattern chiefly driven by the percolation mechanism is initially *** the rotation speed increases,the buoyancy mechanism and particle diffusion gradually strengthen,jointly driving the formation of the Core-and-band pattern.A dimensionless strength ratio,λ=H/h,where H and h respectively represent the diffusion and buoyancy strengths at length scales,is introduced to elucidate this *** Core-and-band pattern emerges whenλreached 1.4.

Measurement of acceleration and angular velocity of particles during a 3D silo discharge

Accurate measurement of the three-dimensional(3D)movement of discrete particles is crucial for comprehending complex granular rheology in *** this paper,the acceleration and angular velocity of particles in 3D silos are measured by using a spherical detector based on inertial technology and magnetic positioning *** acceleration of particles is the largest in the center of silos,which suggest that the resistance generated by friction and extrusion is the ***,the angular velocity distribution follows lognormal function except for particles near the *** correlation between acceleration and angular velocity is opposite in different flow *** reveals for the first time that the extent to which the resultant force on the particles affects their rotational motion is related to the flow *** results have practical significance for regulating the granular flow pattern and optimizing the structural design of silos.

Relationship between the Stratospheric Arctic Vortex and Surface Air Temperature in the Midlatitudes of the Northern Hemisphere

It is known that different relationships exist between the strength and displacement of the stratospheric polar vortex(SPV),and the surface air temperature(SAT)patterns in Eurasia and North America,but the mechanisms behind these relationships remain unclear,especially on an interannual *** on empirical orthogonal function(EOF)analysis using NCEP reanalysis data over 1958–2018,this study attempts to ascertain the relationship between the SPV intensity and displacement over the Arctic and the SATs in the midlatitudes of the Northern *** results indicate that a strengthened SPV corresponds to an SAT increase in Eurasia and a decrease in eastern North America and *** the SPV is shifted towards Eurasia,however,a corresponding SAT increase occurs in both North America and Eurasia,with a larger increase in North America than in ***,a strengthened SPV tends to correspond to a positive North Atlantic Oscillation-like circulation in the troposphere with negative geopotential height(GH)anomalies in Greenland and eastern North American continent and positive GH anomalies to the north of 45°N in Eurasia,which corresponds to lower SATs in North America than in ***,when the SPV shifted towards Eurasia,it was accompanied by a positive Pacific/North American-like pattern with a deepened Aleutian low,which corresponds to the increasing SATs in North *** tropospheric circulation changes are related to the response of tropospheric planetary wave activity to the SPV.A strengthened SPV corresponds to the weakening of tropospheric planetary wave-1 waves,which is accompanied by a negative GH in North America but a positive GH in *** the SPV shifted towards Eurasia,the tropospheric planetary wave-1(-2)waves strengthened(weakened),and the combined effects of the planetary wave-1 and wave-2 waves would cause positive GH anomalies in both Eurasia and North America.

Two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides have been extensively studied due to their fascinating physical properties for constructing high-performance ***,their relatively low responsivities,current on/off ratios and response speeds have hindered their widespread ***,we fabricated a high-performance photodetector based on few-layer MoTe_(2) and CdS_(0.42)Se_(0.58) flake *** photodetector exhibited a high responsivity of 7221 A/W,a large current on/off ratio of 1.73×10^(4),a fast response speed of 90/120μs,external quantum efficiency(EQE)reaching up to 1.52×10^(6)%and detectivity(D*)reaching up to 1.67×10^(15) *** excellent performance of the heterojunction photodetector was analyzed by a photocurrent mapping test and first-principle ***,the visible light imaging function was successfully attained on the MoTe_(2)/CdS_(0.42)Se_(0.58) photodetectors,indicating that the device had practical imaging application *** findings provide a reference for the design of ultrahighperformance MoTe_(2)-based photodetectors.

Partially substituting alfalfa hay with hemp forage in the diet of goats improved feed efficiency, ruminal fermentation pattern and microbial profiles

The use of hemp as a forage source in livestock diets has been less studied because bioactive residues in animal tissues may pose a risk to consumers. This study investigated the effects of partial substitution of alfalfa hay(AH) with hemp forage(HF) in growing goat diets on growth performance, carcass traits, ruminal fermentation characteristics, rumen microbial communities, blood biochemistry, and antioxidant *** Xiangdong black goats with body weight(BW) 7.82 ± 0.57 kg(mean ± SD) were grouped by BW and randomly assigned into one of the four treatment diets(n = 10/treatment) in a completely randomized design. The goats were fed ad libitum total mixed rations containing 60% forage and 40% concentrate(DM basis). The diets included control(CON; 60% AH and 40% concentrate), 55% AH and 5% HF(HF5), 50% AH and10% HF(HF10), and 40% AH and 20% HF(HF20). Increasing the substitution of HF for AH linearly decreased(P = 0.004) DM intake and improved feed conversion efficiency. However, final BW, average daily gain,carcass traits, meat quality, and most blood biochemistry indices did not differ among treatments. The ruminal NH3-N concentration(P = 0.003) and blood urine nitrogen(P = 0.050) linearly increased(P < 0.01)with increasing substitution rate of HF, whereas the total volatile fatty acids concentration quadratically changed(P = 0.007). Substitution of AH with HF had no effect on the diversity and richness of ruminal microbes, though it linearly decreased(P = 0.040) Prevotella＿1 and linearly increased(P = 0.017) Rikenellaceae＿RC9＿gut＿group. The cannabinoids and/or their metabolites were detected in both ruminal filtrates(8) and plasma(4), however, no detectable cannabinoid-related residues were observed in *** results indicate that the HF could be used to partially substitute AH in goat diets, whereas the effects vary between substitution rates of HF for AH. Increasing the recrystallization temperature to achieve better high-temperature performance is critical in the development of molybdenum alloys for ultrahightemperature applications,such as the newest generation of multitype high-temperature nuclear *** this study,an innovative strategy was proposed to improve the performance of molybdenum alloys at high temperature by using the two-dimensional MAX(where M is an early transition metal,A is an A-group element and X is C or N)ceramic material Ti_(3)AlC_(2).The relationships between flow stress,strain rate and temperature were *** microstructure,distribution of misorientation and evolution of dislocations in the Mo-Ti_(3)AlC_(2) alloy were *** microscopic mechanism of the Ti_(3)AlC_(2) phase in the molybdenum alloy at high temperatures was *** experimental results showed that the peak flow stress of Mo-Ti_(3)AlC_(2) at 1600℃ reached 155 MPa,which was161.8% greater than that of pure *** activation energy of thermal deformation of Mo-Ti_(3)AlC_(2) was as large as537 kJ·mol~(-1),which was 17.6% more than that of pure *** recrystallization temperature reached 1600℃ or even *** topological reaction of the Ti_(3)AlC_(2) phase consumed a large amount of energy at high temperatures,resulting in increases in the deformation activation *** structures of AlTi_3 and Ti-O Magneli-phase oxides(Ti_nO_(2n-1)) were formed in-situ,which relied on kink bands and interlayer slip,resulting in many dislocations during ***,the special two-dimensional of the structure Ti_(3)AlC_(2) ceramic inhibited the recrystallization behavior of the Mo *** results of this study can provide theoretical guidance for the development of a new generation of molybdenum alloys for use in ultrahigh-temperature environments.

BACKGROUND Cronkhite-Canada syndrome(CCS)is a rare disease of unknown *** optimal treatment for CCS remains *** with corticosteroids is considered the mainstay treatment because of its high efficacy,but the therapeutic strategy for steroid-resistant CCS is not yet *** SUMMARY This is the case of an 81-year-old woman who was diagnosed with *** her severe diarrhea,nausea,vomiting,and hypoproteinemia,hormone therapy(40 mg/d)was administered,and the symptoms improved within 1 *** 3 mo,the patient had no obvious *** polyps were significantly reduced on review gastroscopy and colonoscopy,thus hormone reduction gradually *** hormone level was maintained at 10 mg/d after 6 *** the age of the patient and the side effects of hormones,the patient had no obvious ***,hormone drugs were discontinued,and mesalazine was administered orally at 3 g/*** patient's symptoms continued to improve after a follow-up of 5 *** Corticosteroids and mesalazine are potential treatment options for CCS.
