Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

The influence of reduction conditions on carbon deposition during fiuidized-bed pre-reduction of iron ore fines was investigated *** results showed that reduction temperature and the composition of reducing gases had a significant effect on the rate of carbon deposition and the type of carbon deposits (graphite and Fe3C).Low reduction temperature,high CO content,and addition of H2favored the deposition of carbon,especially *** reduction conditions also significantly affected the surface morphology of the as-reduced iron ore *** the amount of deposited graphite increased,the formation of fibrous iron disappeared and graphite filaments were *** pre-reduced iron ore fines were further fiuidized in pure CO at 850℃ for final *** results showed that graphite could suppress the formation of fibrous iron and decrease the surface viscosity,thereby inhibiting agglomeration during the final high-temperature reduction *** that consume the deposited carbon during the final high-temperature reduction were identified and graphite was shown to be more reactive than *** enhance the application of fluidization technology in producing sponge iron,a novel solid-state high-temperature reduction method via deposited carbon was proposed and demonstrated to be feasible.

Numerical simulation of three-dimensional flow field and film cooling effectiveness in film-cooled turbine rotor and stationary turbine cascade were carried out by using the k- ε turbulence model, and the predictions of the three-dimensional velocities were compared with the measured results by Laser-Doppler Velocimetry （LDV）. Results reveal the secondary flow near the blade surface in the wake region behind the jet hole. Compared with the stationary cascade, there are the centrifugal force and Coriolis force existing in the flow field of the turbine rotor, and these forces make the three-dimensional flow field change in the turbine rotor, especially for the radial velocity. The effect of rotation on the flow field and the film cooling effectiveness on the pressure side is more apparent than that on the suction side as is shown in the computational and measured results, and the low film cooling effectiveness appears on the pressure surface of the turbine rotor blade compared with that of the stationary cascade.

Uniaxial compression tests were carried out on an Al-Cu-Li alloy at a temperature range of 300–500℃ and a strain rate range of 0.001–10 s^-1. Four representative instability maps based on Gegel, AlexanderMalas(A-M), Kumar-Prasad(K-P) and Murty-Rao(M-R) criteria were constructed. Through formula deduction and microstructural observation, it can be concluded that M-R criterion is more accurate than K-P criterion, and the first two criteria are better than Gegel and A-M criteria. From a power dissipation map and a M-R instability map, the optimized processing parameters are 480–500℃/0.001–0.1 s^-1 and 420–480℃/0.1-1 s^-1. The corresponding microstructural analysis shows that dynamic recovery and partial dynamic recrystallization are main dynamic softening mechanisms. Transmission electron microscopy observation indicated that a large number of primary coarse T1(Al2 Cu Li) particles precipitated in the homogenized specimen. After deformation at 500℃, most of the primary T1 particles dissolved back into the matrix, and secondary fine T1 particles precipitated at deformation-induced dislocations, high angle grain boundaries and other dispersed particles.

The influence of the Kuroshio on neighboring Chinese seas and the Ryukyu Current is a very important subject of interest in physical oceanography. To deeply explain the research progress made by Chinese scientists from July2010 to May 2015, the following three aspects are reviewed in this paper. The first concerns the Kuroshio intrusion into the South China Sea（SCS） and its circulation around the Luzon Strait. There are two very important points to be explained： the seasonal and inter-annual variation of the Kuroshio intrusion and the mechanisms of the Kuroshio intrusion and the influence of the Kuroshio on currents in the Luzon Strait and circulation in the northern SCS. The second concerns the variability of the Kuroshio and its interaction with the East China Sea（ECS）. There are following four interesting topics to be explained： an overview of studies on the Kuroshio in the ECS; the Kuroshio intrusion into the ECS, water exchange, and dynamic impacts; the downstream increase of nutrient transport by the Kuroshio; and the application of satellite remote sensing on terrestrial material transport by the Kuroshio intrusion into the ECS. Third, the interaction between the Ryukyu Current and Kuroshio in the ECS are also discussed. Finally, the main results are summarized and areas of further study are simply discussed.

The accuracy of an ultrasonic flowmeter meaurement depends on the profile-linear average velocity. But this velocity in the transition region is not available at the present. In this article, the velocity in the transition region in pipes is studied by experimental methods. The Particle Image Velocimetry （ PIV ） is used to measure the flow field in the transition region in pipes, and the measured results from PIV are in good agreement with the Westerwell＇s experimental data. Based on the experimental data of PIV, the curves of the profile-linear average velocity in the transition region against the Reynolds number in the range from 2 000 to 20 000 are obtained, and it is shown that the coefficient k is constant when the Reynolds number is in the range of 2 000-2 400 and 6 000-20 000, and the coefficient k is increasing when the Reynolds number is in the range of 2 400-6 000. The results of this article can be used to improve the measurement accuracy of the ultrasonic flowmeters and as a theoretical basis for the research on the transition flow.

The effect of the microstructure of plates fabricated both in the traditional process, involving casting, hot rolling and cold rolling （HR）, and in the novel twin roll casting ＋ cold rolling （TRC） process on the surface quality of presensitized （PS） plates was analyzed by optical microscopy （OM）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDXS）. The formation of pores on the surface of the electrolyzed HR plate could be attributed to the presence of approximately 1-μm-sized large Al-Fe precipitates in the HR plate compared to the smaller precipitates in the TRC plate. Moreover, residual graphite lubricants used during the TRC process were entrapped on the surface of the TRC plate during the subsequent rolling process. The entrapped pollutants tended to further deteriorate the formation of pores on the surface of the TRC plate, and no residual carbon was detected on the surface of the HR plate. Furthermore, the surface quality of the TRC plate can be improved by surface cleaning before the cold rolling process, which could dramatically lower the residual graphite on the surface.

The effect of microstructure and passive film on the corrosion resistance of 2507 super duplex stainless steel(SDSS)in simulated marine environment was investigated by electrochemical measurements,periodic wet–dry cyclic corrosion test,scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy,atomic force microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron *** results show that the occupation ratio ofγphase increases with the decrease in cooling rate,whereas the content ofαphase reduces *** addition,theσprecipitated phase only emerges in the annealed *** pitting sensitivity and corrosion rate of 2507 SDSS reduce first and then increase as the cooling rate ***σprecipitated phase drastically reduces the protective ability of the passive film and facilitates micro-galvanic corrosion of the annealed *** various microstructures,the pits are preferentially distributed within theσandγ*** corrosion resistance of 2507 SDSS prepared by different cooling methods is closely related to the microstructure and structure(stability and homogeneity)of the passive *** steel shows an optimal corrosion resistance,followed by the quenched and annealed steels.

Objective The latest perspective suggests that elevated levels of inflammation and cytokines are implicated in atonic postpartum ***(LPS)has been widely used to induce inflammation in animal ***,this study aimed to induce uterine inflammation using LPS to investigate whether local inflammation triggers dysfunction and atrophy in the myometrium,as well as the potential underlying molecular mechanisms *** In vivo,an animal model was established by intraperitoneal injection of 300μg/kg LPS in rats on gestational day ***-eosin(H&E)staining and Masson staining were employed to determine morphological changes in the rat uterine smooth ***-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to detect inflammatory ***,tissue fluorescence,and Western blotting were conducted to assess the expression levels of the uterine contraction-related proteins Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)and the nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)signaling *** vitro,human uterine smooth muscle cells(HUtSMCs)were exposed to 2μg/mL LPS to further elucidate the involvement of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway in LPS-mediated *** In this study,LPS induced uterine myometrial dysfunction in rats,leading to a disorganized arrangement,a significant increase in collagen fiber deposition,and widespread infiltration of inflammatory *** both in vivo animal models and in vitro HUtSMCs,LPS elevated IL-6,IL-1β,and TNF-αlevels while concurrently suppressing the expression of connexin 43(Cx43)and oxytocin receptor(OXTR).Mechanistically,the LPS-treated group exhibited TLR4 activation,and the phosphorylation levels of p65 and IκBαwere notably *** LPS triggered the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway,inducing an inflammatory response in the myometrium and leading to uterine myometrial dysfunction and uterine atony.
