Micro-flow structure at regime transition from bubbling to turbulent fluidization in a fluidized bed

Gas-solid fluidized beds have found extensive utilization in frontline manufacturing,in particular as low-velocity *** fluidization status,the bubbling or turbulent flow regime and the transition in between,determine the system performance in practical *** the convoluted hydrodynamics are quantitively evaluated through numerous data-processing methodologies,none of them alone can reflect all the critical information to identify the transition from the bubbling to the turbulent ***,this study was to exploit a coupling data processing methodology,in the combination of standard deviation,power spectrum density,probability density function,wavelet transform,and wavelet multiresolution method,to jointly explain the micro-flow structure at the regime transition from bubbling to turbulent *** transient differential pressure fluctuation was measured for the evaluation in a fluidized bed(0.267 m i.d.×2.5 m height)with FCC catalysts(d_(p)=65μm,ρ_(p)=1780kg/m^(3))at different superficial gas velocities(0.02–1.4 m/s).The results show that the onset of turbulent fluidization starts earlier in the top section of the bed than in the bottom *** wavelet decomposition displays that the fluctuation of differential pressure mainly concentrates on the sub-signals with an intermediate frequency *** sub-signals could be synthesized into three types of scales(micro-scale,meso-scale,and macro-scale),representing the multi-scale hydrodynamics in the fluidized *** micro-scale signal has the characteristic information of bubbling fluidization,and the characteristic information of turbulent fluidization is mainly represented by the meso-scale *** work provides a systematic comprehension of fluidization status assessment and serves as an impetus for more coupling analysis in this sector.

Separation density prediction of geldart A^(-)dense medium in gas-solid fluidized bed coal beneficiators

Gas-solid Fluidized Bed Coal Beneficiator(GFBCB)process is a crucial dry coal beneficiation fluidization *** work employs the GFBCB process alongside a novel Geldart A^(-)dense medium,consisting of Geldart A magnetite particles and Geldart C ultrafine coal,to separate small-size separated objects in the *** effects of various operational conditions,including the volume fraction of ultrafine coal,the gas velocity,the separated objects size,and the separation time,were investigated on the GFBCB's separation *** results indicated that the probable error for 6∼3 mm separated objects could be controlled within 0.10 g/cm^(3).Compared to the traditional Geldart B/D dense medium,the Geldart A/A^(-)dense medium exhibited better size-dependent separation performance with an overall probable error 0.04∼0.12 g/cm^(3).Moreover,it achieved a similar separation accuracy to the Geldart B/D dense medium fluidized bed with different external energy for the small-size object *** work furthermore validated a separation density prediction model based on theoretical derivation,available for both Geldart B/D dense medium and Geldart A/A^(-)dense medium at different operational conditions.

DG Hosting Capacity Assessment Considering Dependence Among Wind Speed,Solar Radiation,and Load Demands

Dependence of distributed generation(DG)outputs and load plays an essential role in renewable energy *** paper presents a novel DG hosting capacity(DGHC)evaluation method for distribution networks considering highdimensional dependence relations among solar radiation,wind speed,and various load types(i.e.,commercial,residential,and industrial).First,an advanced dependence modeling method called regular vine(R-vine)is applied to capture the complex dependence structure of solar radiation,wind speed,commercial loads,industrial loads,and residential ***,a chanceconstrained DGHC evaluation model is employed to figure out maximum hosting capacity of each DG and its optimal allocation plan with different operational ***,a Benders decomposition algorithm is also employed to reduce computational *** proposed approaches are validated using a set of historical data from *** show dependence among different DGs and loads has significant impact on hosting *** also suggest using the R-vine model to capture dependence among distributed energy resources(DERs)and *** finding provides useful advice for distribution networks in installing renewable energy generations.

Structure and immunomodulatory activity of Lentinus edodes polysaccharides modified by probiotic fermentation

Plant-based fermentations provide an untapped source for novel biotechnological *** this study,a probiotic named Lactobacillus fermentum 21828 was introduced to ferment Lentinus *** were extracted from fermented and non-fermented *** and purified via DEAE-52 and Sephadex *** components designated F-LEP-2a and NF-LEP-2a were analyzed by FT-IR,HPGPC,HPAEC,SEM,GC-MS and *** results revealed that probiotic fermentation increased the molecular weight from 1.16×10^(4) Da to 1.87×10^(4) Da and altered the proportions of glucose,galactose and mannose,in which glucose increased from 45.94%to 48.16%.Methylation analysis and NMR spectra indicated that F-LEP-2a and NF-LEP-2a had similar linkage ***,their immunomodulatory activities were evaluated with immunosuppressive ***-LEP and F-LEP improved immune organ indices,immunoglobulin(Ig G and Ig M)and cytokines concentrations;restored the antioxidation capacity of liver;and maintained the balance of gut microbiota.F-LEP displayed better moderating effects on the spleen index,immunoglobulin,cytokines and the diversity of gut microbiota than NF-LEP(200,400 mg/kg).Our study provides an efficient and environment-friendly way for the structural modification of polysaccharides,which helps to enhance their biological activity and promote their wide application in food,medicine and other fields.

Transparency:The Missing Link to Boosting AI Transformations in Chemical Engineering

The issue of opacity within data-driven artificial intelligence(AI)algorithms has become an impediment to these algorithms’extensive utilization,especially within sensitive domains concerning health,safety,and high profitability,such as chemical engineering(CE).In order to promote reliable AI utilization in CE,this review discusses the concept of transparency within AI utilizations,which is defined based on both explainable AI(XAI)concepts and key features from within the CE *** review also highlights the requirements of reliable AI from the aspects of causality(i.e.,the correlations between the predictions and inputs of an AI),explainability(i.e.,the operational rationales of the workflows),and informativeness(i.e.,the mechanistic insights of the investigating systems).Related techniques are evaluated together with state-of-the-art applications to highlight the significance of establishing reliable AI applications in ***,a comprehensive transparency analysis case study is provided as an example to enhance ***,this work provides a thorough discussion of this subject matter in a way that—for the first time—is particularly geared toward chemical engineers in order to raise awareness of responsible AI *** this vital missing link,AI is anticipated to serve as a novel and powerful tool that can tremendously aid chemical engineers in solving bottleneck challenges in CE.

When zero-valent iron(ZVI)is prepared and applied under neutral conditions,it is easy to form oxides or hydroxides on its surface,which hinders the electron release of *** this end,a nucleophile was introduced into the ZVI system to inhibit the precipitation of iron ions,improve the conductivity of the solution,and promote the removal efficiency of electrophilic functional groups in organic *** this study,the addition of nucleophiles such as ethylenediamine,methylamine and dimethylamine to the ZVI/H_(2)O_(2)system resulted in an enhanced removal efficiency of tetracycline(TC)under neutral condition,while electrophiles such as EDTA-2Na and oxalic acid dihydrate impeded the removal of *** results demonstrated that the presence of nucleophiles could effectively promote the release of iron ions and increase the proportion of ferrous in both aqueous solution and solid surface of *** and theoretical calculation results revealed that the electrophilic functional group was eliminated in the TC molecule,and the toxicity of the treated solution was reduced ***,this work provides a selection of the conditions and pollutants applicable to ZVI under neutral pH conditions.

Since the appearance of Rochelle salt,ferroelectrics have received extensive attention from researchers due to they are playing an important role in sensors,memories,mechanical actuation,and so *** recent years,with the rapid development of molecular ferroelectrics,high-performance molecular ferroelectrics have become effective complement to inorganic ***,compared with inorganic ferroelectrics,the family of molecular ferroelectrics is relatively scarce,and exploring highperformance ferroelectric materials through new synthesis strategies has become the trend of molecular ***,we successfully transformed non-polar material 1(2-H_(2)PCA)_(2)(H_(2)O)CdCl_(6)(2-H_(2)PCA=2-picolylamine cation)into polar material 2(2-H_(2)PCA)2CdCl_(6)by single-crystal to single-crystal transformation(SCSCT).Meanwhile,2 exhibits clear ferroelectricity with a high-temperature Tc of 378 K,a Ps of 1.18μC/cm^(2)at 300 *** work not only realizes the purpose of synthesizing ferroelectrics by forming polar structures by SCSCT,but also realizes the reversibility of SCSCT,which provides ideas for the construction and exploration of new molecular ferroelectrics.

Acceptance and Factors Associated With Participation in Functional Cure–Related Trials Among People Living With HIV: A Cross-sectional Study in Southern China

HIV remains a global health challenge,and research efforts directed towards a functional cure require people living with HIV(PLHIV)in-volvement in clinical *** study assessed willingness to participate in HIV functional cure–related clinical trials and associated factors among PLHIV in Guangzhou,China,using a questionnaire survey *** analyzed responses from 718 questionnaires,finding that 71.2%were willing to participate in Phase Ⅲtrials,while 51.7%were willing to participate in Phase I trials and 42.9%expressed acceptability for analytic treatment *** logistic regression demonstrated that male PLHIV,those with awareness of functional cure,and PLHIV,who had been on antiretroviral therapy(ART)for less than 1 year,were more willing to partic-ipate in Phase Ⅲ*** with a body mass index greater than 24,and those without resistance to ART drug were more willing to participate in Phase I *** major motivations for participation in Phase Ⅲtrials were access to cutting-edge treatments(62.6%)and supporting research(55.3%).Safety was the main concern contributing to *** study revealed a high willingness to participate in HIV functional cure–related trials among PLHIV in Guangzhou,China,and willingness varied across different trial phases and was influenced by multiple *** study provides valuable references for future clinical trial recruitment strategies and public health policy formulation.

Dietary cooking oils and cardiometabolic measurements in an elderly Chinese population
