Effects of different doses of glucose and fructose on central metabolic pathways and intercellular wireless communication networks in humans

Fructose and glucose are often widely used in food processing and may contribute to many metabolic diseases.To observe the effects of different doses of glucose and fructose on human metabolism and cellular communication,volunteers were given low,medium,and high doses of glucose and fructose.Serum cytokines,glucose,lactate,nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)and metabolic enzymes were assayed,and central carbon metabolic pathway networks and cytokine communication networks were constructed.The results showed that the glucose and fructose groups basically maintained the trend of decreasing catabolism and increasing anabolism with increasing dose.Compared with glucose,low-dose fructose decreased catabolism and increased anabolism,significantly enhanced the expression of the inflammatory cytokine interferon-γ(IFN-γ),macrophage-derived chemokine(MDC),induced protein-10(IP-10),and eotaxin,and significantly reduced the activity of isocitrate dehydrogenase(ICDH)and pyruvate dehydrogenase complexes(PDHC).Both medium and high doses of fructose increase catabolism and anabolism,and there are more cytokines and enzymes with significant changes.Furthermore,multiple cytokines and enzymes show strong relevance to metabolic regulation by altering the transcription and expression of enzymes in central carbon metabolic pathways.Therefore,excessive intake of fructose should be reduced to avoid excessive inflammatory responses,allergic reactions and autoimmune diseases.

Alveolar bone regeneration has been strongly linked to macrophage polarization.M1 macrophages aggravate alveolar bone loss,whereas M2 macrophages reverse this process.Berberine(BBR),a natural alkaloid isolated and refined from Chinese medicinal plants,has shown therapeutic effects in treating metabolic disorders.In this study,we first discovered that culture supernatant(CS)collected from BBR-treated human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(HBMSCs)ameliorated periodontal alveolar bone loss.CS from the BBR-treated HBMSCs contained bioactive materials that suppressed the M1 polarization and induced the M2 polarization of macrophages in vivo and in vitro.To clarify the underlying mechanism,the bioactive materials were applied to different animal models.We discovered macrophage colony-stimulating factor(M-CSF),which regulates macrophage polarization and promotes bone formation,a key macromolecule in the CS.Injection of pure M-CSF attenuated experimental periodontal alveolar bone loss in rats.Colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor(CSF1R)inhibitor or anti-human M-CSF(M-CSF neutralizing antibody,Nab)abolished the therapeutic effects of the CS of BBR-treated HBMSCs.Moreover,AKT phosphorylation in macrophages was activated by the CS,and the AKT activator reversed the negative effect of the CSF1R inhibitor or Nab.These results suggest that the CS of BBR-treated HBMSCs modulates macrophage polarization via the M-CSF/AKT axis.Further studies also showed that CS of BBR-treated HBMSCs accelerated bone formation and M2 polarization in rat teeth extraction sockets.Overall,our findings established an essential role of BBR-treated HBMSCs CS and this might be the first report to show that the products of BBR-treated HBMSCs have active effects on alveolar bone regeneration.

Solar-blind ultraviolet(UV)photodetectors based on p-organic/n-Ga_(2)O_(3) hybrid heterojunctions have attracted extensive attention recently.Herein,the multifunctional solar-blind photodetector based on p-type poly[N-90-heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-5,5-(40,70-di-2-thienyl-20,10,30-benzothiadiazole)](PCDTBT)/n-type amorphous Ga_(2)O_(3)(a-Ga_(2)O_(3))is fabricated and investigated,which can work in the phototransistor mode coupling with self-powered mode.With the introduction of PCDTBT,the dark current of such the a-Ga_(2)O_(3)-based photodetector is decreased to 0.48 pA.Meanwhile,the photoresponse parameters of the a-Ga_(2)O_(3)-based photodetector in the phototransistor mode to solar-blind UV light are further increased,that is,responsivity(R),photo-detectivity(D*),and external quantum efficiency(EQE)enhanced to 187 A W^(-1),1.3×10^(16) Jones and 9.1×10^(4)% under the weak light intensity of 11μW cm^(-2),respectively.Thanks to the formation of the built-in field in the p-PCDTBT/n-Ga_(2)O_(3) type-Ⅱ heterojunction,the PCDTBT/Ga_(2)O_(3) multifunctional photodetector shows self-powered behavior.The responsivity of p-PCDTBT/n-Ga_(2)O_(3) multifunctional photodetector is 57.5 mA W^(-1) at zero bias.Such multifunctional p-n hybrid heterojunction-based photodetectors set the stage for realizing high-performance amorphous Ga_(2)O_(3) heterojunction-based photodetectors.

针对菊花种类繁多,花型差别细微,准确标注比较困难的问题,基于深度主动学习与混合注意力机制模块(Convolutional block attention module,CBAM),提出了一种标号数据不足情况下的菊花表型智能识别方法和框架。首先,通过主动学习策略基于最优标号和次优标号法(Best vs second-best,BvSB)在未标记菊花样本中选取信息量较大的样本进行标记,并将标记后的样本放入训练样本中;其次,使用深度卷积神经网络ResNet50作为本文的主干网络训练标记样本,引入混合注意力机制模块CBAM,使模型能够更为准确地提取细粒度图像中的高层语义信息;最后,用更新后的训练样本继续训练分类模型,直到模型达到迭代次数后停止。实验结果表明,该方法在少量菊花标记样本下,精确率、召回率和F1值分别达到93.66%、93.15%和93.41%。本文方法可为标号数据不足情况下的菊花等花卉智能化识别提供技术支撑。

5G sets an ambitious goal of increasing the capacity per area of current 4G network by 1000 fold. Due to the high splitting gain of dense small cells, ultra dense network(UDN) is widely considered as a key component in achieving this goal. In this paper, we outline the main challenges that come with dense cell deployment, including interference, mobility, power consumption and backhaul. Technologies designed to tackle these challenges in long term evolution system(LTE) and their deficiencies in UDN context are also analyzed. To combat these challenges more efficiently, a series of technologies are introduced along with some of our initial research results. Moreover, the trends of user-centric and peer-to-peer design in UDN are also elaborated.
