Physiological response of flag leaf and yield formation of winter wheat under different spring restrictive irrigation regimes in the Haihe Plain,China

In order to identify the optimum period of spring water-restrictive irrigation for winter wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)in the Haihe Plain,China and elucidate its effects on flag leaf senescence and yield formation,field experiments were conducted at the Xinji Experimental Station of Hebei Agricultural University from 2016 to 2019 by using different irrigation regimes in spring,including the conventional regime involving two irrigation periods(control(CK),the 3-leaf unfolding stage and the anthesis stage)and a series of single,restrictive irrigation regimes(SRI)comprising irrigation at the 3-leaf unfolding stage(3 LI),4 LI,5 LI,and 6 LI.There are five major findings:(1)The senescence(determined by the green leaf area,GLA)in the 4 LI treatment occurred moderately earlier than that in CK,showed no significant difference with that in 5 LI and 6 LI,and occurred significantly later than that in 3 LI.(2)Compared with other SRI treatments,the GLA value and photosynthetic rate in 4 LI were 14.82 and 20.1%higher,respectively.Microstructural analysis of flag leaf also revealed that the mesophyll cells and chloroplasts were irregularly arranged under drought stress in 3 LI and 6 LI;however,drought stress had minimal negative effects on the microstructure in 4 LI and 5 LI.(3)Postponed irrigation in spring could significantly increase superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)activities in the early stage of grain filling;however,these activities would subsequently decrease.Among the four SRI treatments,the overall enzyme activities were the highest in 4 LI,and the combined malondialdehyde(MDA)content in flag leaves in 4 LI and 5 LI was 14.5%lower on average than that in 3 LI and 6 LI.(4)The soluble sugar(SS)and proline(Pro)contents in 4 LI were the highest among the four SRI treatments;however,they were lower than those in CK.The abscisic acid(ABA)hormone content in 4 LI and 5 LI was lower than that in 3 LI and 6 LI,respectively,suggesting a smaller drought stress effect in 4 LI and 5 LI.(5)In two growing seasons,there was a la

Over-use of N fertilizer in crop production has resulted in a series of environmental problems in the North China Plain(NCP).Thus,improvement of nitrogen use efficiency(NUE)in summer maize has become an effective strategy for promoting sustainable agriculture in this region.Using twenty maize cultivars,plant dry matter production,N absorption and accumulation,yield formation,and NUE in summer maize were investigated under three N levels in two growing seasons.Based on their yield and yield components,these maize cultivars were categorized into four groups including efficient-efficient(EE)cultivars,high-nitrogen efficient(HNE)cultivars,low-nitrogen efficient(LNE)cultivars and nonefficient-nonefficient(NN)cultivars.In both two seasons,the EE cultivars improved grain yield together with increased plant biomass,and enhanced accumulative amounts as well as higher average grain yields than the other cultivar groups under deficient-N conditions.Significant correlations were observed between yield and kernel numbers(KN),dry matter(DM)amount and N accumulation at both post-silking and maturity stages.DM and N accumulation at late growth stage(i.e.,from silking to maturity)contributed largely to the enhanced yield capacity and improved NUE under N-deficient conditions.Compared with the NN cultivars,the EE cultivars also showed increased N assimilation amount(NAA)and N remobilization content(NRC),and elevated N remobilization efficiency(NRE),NUE and nitrogen partial factor productivity(PFPN).Our investigation has revealed N-associated physiological processes and may provide guidance for cultivation and breeding of high yield and NUE summer maize under limited N conditions in the NCP.

Aptamer-Based Antibiotic Electrochemical Detection Platform Using Portable Plastic Gold Electrode and Multichannel Chip

The development of accurate,rapid and practical electrochemical sensing technology for antibiotic detection has an important application prospect in many fields such as food safety,environmental monitoring,medical and health care.In this research,kanamycin specific DNA aptamer and its partially complementary short chain were self-assembled onto the surface of an integrated portable plastic gold electrode(PGE)by Au-s bond,and a simple kanamycin electrochemical biosensor interface was constructed.At the same time,the epoxy resin channel layer was designed,and the auxiliary instrument was set up independently in the laboratory,which could help to measure and analyze eight groups of samples automatically in turn.The quantitative analysis results showed that in 20 min,the sensor had a good linear relationship between the peak current change of square wave voltammetry and the negative logarithm of kanamycin concentration when kanamycin concentration was in the range of 1-10o0μmol/L,and the detection limit could reach 0.40μmol/L.In addition,the discrimination could be achieved within 5 min in the real-time analysis mode.The sensor had a simple construction method,good selectivity and stability,and could be used for rapid or real-time detection of kanamycin residues in actual water samples,which provided a new direction for the practical detection of kanamycin in environmental watersamples.

Prevalence of prolonged grief disorder and its symptoms among bereaved individuals in China:a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background The prevalence of prolonged grief disorder(PGD)and its symptoms among the bereaved population in China vary considerably.Aims This meta-analysis aims to estimate the prevalence of PGD and its symptoms among bereaved individuals in China.Methods We conducted a literature search in major Chinese and English databases from their inception to 4 October 2023,for cross-sectional studies on the prevalence of PGD or its symptoms in bereaved Chinese individuals.The risk of bias of the included studies and certainty of the evidence were assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for Studies Reporting Prevalence Data(‘JBI checklist’)and the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluations(GRADE),respectively.The‘metaprop’package in R V.4.1.2 was used to synthesise the prevalence.Results A total of 28 studies involving 10994 bereaved individuals were included in the analysis,with JBI checklist scores between 3 and 7.The combined prevalence(95%confidence interval)of PGD and its symptoms was 8.9%(4.2%to 17.6%)and 32.4%(18.2%to 50.8%),respectively.PGD and its symptoms were most prevalent among those who had lost their only child(22.7%)and those bereaved by earthquakes(80.4%),respectively.The GRADE system assigned a very low certainty level to the evidence for the pooled prevalence of PGD and its symptoms.Conclusions The pooled prevalence of PGD and its symptoms indicate a potential high need for grief counselling services among bereaved individuals in China.This need is particularly pronounced in those who have lost their only child and those bereaved due to earthquakes.Further methodologically rigorous studies are needed to provide more accurate prevalence estimates.PROSPERO registration number CRD42023432553.

Attaining synergetic equilibrium of electrical conductivity and tensile strength in GQDs@GN/Cu composites through multi-scale intragranular and intergranular reinforcements

The configuration and quality of reinforcements, as well as the robustness of interfacial bonding,holding a critical significance in determining the concurrence between electrical conductivity and mechanical strength in metal matrix composites. In this study, citric acid was employed as the precursor for synthesizing multiscale carbon nanomaterials(graphene quantum dots and graphene, abbreviated as GQDs and GN). The GQDs@GN/Cu composites were fabricated through a segmented ball milling process in conjunction with subsequent spark plasma sintering(SPS). The intragranular GQDs and intergranular GQDs@GN had synergistically reinforced Cu composites through Orowan strengthening, load transfer strengthening and refinement strengthening. Furthermore,the robust interface bonding between GQDs@GN and Cu effectively mitigated interfacial impedance stemming from electron-boundary scattering. The yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of the GQDs@GN/Cu composites were recorded as 270 and 314 MPa, respectively, representing an improvement of 92 and 28% over pure Cu, while maintaining electrical conductivity at a level comparable to that of pure Cu. This study advances the understanding of the possibility of realizing a synergistic compatibility between electrical conductivity and mechanical strength in Cu composites.

Effect of solvent on the initiation mechanism of living anionic polymerization of styrene:A computational study

For living anionic polymerization(LAP),solvent has a great influence on both reaction mechanism and kinetics.In this work,by using the classical butyl lithium-styrene polymerization as a model system,the effect of solvent on the mechanism and kinetics of LAP was revealed through a strategy combining density functional theory(DFT)calculations and kinetic modeling.In terms of mechanism,it is found that the stronger the solvent polarity,the more electrons transfer from initiator to solvent through detailed energy decomposition analysis of electrostatic interactions between initiator and solvent molecules.Furthermore,we also found that the stronger the solvent polarity,the higher the monomer initiation energy barrier and the smaller the initiation rate coefficient.Counterintuitively,initiation is more favorable at lower temperatures based on the calculated results ofΔG_(TS).Finally,the kinetic characteristics in different solvents were further examined by kinetic modeling.It is found that in benzene and n-pentane,the polymerization rate exhibits first-order kinetics.While,slow initiation and fast propagation were observed in tetrahydrofuran(THF)due to the slow free ion formation rate,leading to a deviation from first-order kinetics.

Local Regularity Criteria for the 3D Co-rotational Beris-Edwards System in Lorentz Spaces

In this paper, we present some new regularity criteria for suitable weak solutions to the 3D corotational Beris-Edwards system. First, we prove that suitable weak solutions are regular if the scaled Lp;q-norm of the velocity field or gradient of velocity is small with 2/p+3/q= 2, 1 < p ≤ ∞. Next, we give ε-regularity criteria in terms of velocity field u and director field Q in Lorentz spaces, which extends the results obtained by Wang et al(J. Evol. Equ. 21:1627-1650, 2021) for Navier-Stokes equations.

Optimal V_(2)O_(3) extraction by sustainable vanadate electrolysis in molten salts

Recently,an environmentally friendly electrolysis process of soluble vanadates is proposed and successfully confirmed for V_(2)O_(3) extraction.In this paper,the solubilities of various vanadates(i.e.NaVO_(3),Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4))in NaCl molten salt are measured.The dependences of V_(2)O_(3) extraction on vanadate form,anode material and molten salt system are studied.A long-term electrolysis is carried out.The result indicates that the solubilities of all vanadates are high and meet electrolytic requirements.Compared to Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4),NaVO_(3) exhibits larger current efficiency and lower electricity consumption.By using SnO_(2) anode instead of graphite anode,the current efficiency of NaVO_(3) electrolysis can be increased to 58.1%and carbon pollution is avoided at 700℃.The extraction rate of V_(2)O_(3) reaches 81.3%after long-term electrolysis of 51 h.This work optimizes the electrochemical preparation process of V_(2)O_(3) from various vanadates and contributes to the improvement of current efficiency and extraction rate.

DeepOCL:A deep neural network for Object Constraint Language generation from unrestricted nature language

Object Constraint Language(OCL)is one kind of lightweight formal specification,which is widely used for software verification and validation in NASA and Object Management Group projects.Although OCL provides a simple expressive syntax,it is hard for the developers to write correctly due to lacking knowledge of the mathematical foundations of the first-order logic,which is approximately half accurate at the first stage of devel-opment.A deep neural network named DeepOCL is proposed,which takes the unre-stricted natural language as inputs and automatically outputs the best-scored OCL candidates without requiring a domain conceptual model that is compulsively required in existing rule-based generation approaches.To demonstrate the validity of our proposed approach,ablation experiments were conducted on a new sentence-aligned dataset named OCLPairs.The experiments show that the proposed DeepOCL can achieve state of the art for OCL statement generation,scored 74.30 on BLEU,and greatly outperformed experienced developers by 35.19%.The proposed approach is the first deep learning approach to generate the OCL expression from the natural language.It can be further developed as a CASE tool for the software industry.

X-ray-activated luminescence materials have broad application prospects in photodynamic therapy of deep tissue.Among them,X-ray-activated persistent luminescence materials(PLMs)exhibiting multiple emission peaks have drawn extensive attention for the ir capacity to achieve a combination of bioimaging and therapeutic functions.Here,we developed a novel PLM,LiYGeO_4:Bi^(3+),Pr^(3+),that simultaneously exhibits UV and NIR dual persistent luminescence(PersL)emissions after irradiation by X-ray.The material can be re peatedly excited by X-ray and emits similar lumine scence intensity every time,which shows good PersL stability.In addition,LiYGeO_4:Bi^(3+),Pr^(3+)exhibits photostimulated PersL properties by stimulation with a red light-emitting diode(LED)or NIR laser after long-term decay.This work provides a new choice of X-ray-excited PLMs with UV and NIR dual emission and the novel phosphor shows promise as a potential candidate for the integration of treatment and diagnosis of deep tumors.
