PER2-mediated ameloblast differentiation via PPARγ/AKT1/β-catenin axis

Circadian rhythm is involved in the development and diseases of many ***,as an essential environmental regulating factor,its effect on amelogenesis has not been fully *** present study aims to investigate the correlation between circadian rhythm and ameloblast differentiation and to explore the mechanism by which circadian genes regulate ameloblast *** disruption models were constructed in mice for in vivo *** ameloblast-lineage cell(ALC)line was used for in vitro *** essential molecules of the circadian system,Bmal1 and Per2 exhibited circadian expression in *** disruption mice showed reduced amelogenin(AMELX)expression and enamel matrix secretion and downregulated expression of BMAL1,PER2,PPARγ,phosphorylated AKT1 andβ-catenin,cytokeratin-14 and F-actin in *** to previous findings and our study,BMAL1 positively regulated ***,the present study focused on PER2-mediated ameloblast differentiation and enamel ***2 knockdown decreased the expression of AMELX,PPARγ,phosphorylated AKT1 andβ-catenin,promoted nuclearβ-catenin accumulation,inhibited mineralization and altered the subcellular localization of E-cadherin in *** of PPARγpartially reversed the above results in Per2-knockdown ***,in in vivo experiments,the length of incisor eruption was significantly decreased in the circadian disturbance group compared to that in the control group,which was rescued by using a PPARγagonist in circadian disturbance *** conclusion,through regulation of the PPARγ/AKT1/β-catenin signalling axis,PER2 played roles in amelogenin expression,cell junctions and arrangement,enamel matrix secretion and mineralization during ameloblast differentiation,which exert effects on enamel formation.

A Co-Dominant Marker BoE332 Applied to Marker-Assisted Selection of Homozygous Male-Sterile Plants in Cabbage (Brassica oleracea *** L.)

The dominant genic male sterility （DGMS） gene CDMs399-3 derived from a spontaneous mutation in the line 79-399-3 of spring cabbage （Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.）, has been successfully applied in hybrid seed production of several cabbage cultivars in China. During the development of dominant male sterility lines in cabbage, the conventional identification of homozygous male-sterile plants （CDMs399-3/CDMs399-3） is a laborious and time-consuming process. For marker-assisted selection （MAS） of the gene CDMs399-3 transferred into key spring cabbage line 397, expressed sequence tag-simple sequence repeats （EST-SSR） and SSR technology were used to identify markers that were linked to CDMs399-3 based on method of bulked segregant analysis （BSA）. By screening a set of 978 EST-SSRs and 395 SSRs, a marker BoE332 linked to the CDMs399-3 at a distance of 3.6 cM in the genetic background of cabbage line 397 were identified. 7 homozygons male-sterile plants in population P1170 with 20 plants were obtained finally via MAS of BoE332. Thus, BoE332 will greatly facilitate the transferring of the gene CDMs399-3 into the key spring cabbage line 397 and improve the application of DGMS in cabbage hybrid breeding.

Rational design and exploration of low-cost and robust bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts are vitally important for developing high-performance zinc-air batteries(ZABs).Herein,we reported a facile yet cost-efficient approach to construct a bifunctional oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)/oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalyst composed of N-doped porous carbon nanosheet flowers decorated with Fe Co nanoparticles(Fe Co/N-CF).Rational design of this catalyst is achieved by designing Schiff-base polymer with unique molecular structure via hydrogen bonding of cyanuramide and terephthalaldehyde polycondensate in the presence of metal *** exhibits excellent activity and stability for electrocatalysis of ORR/OER,enabling ZAB with a high peak power density of 172 m W cm^(-2)and a large specific capacity of 811 m A h g^(-1)Znat large *** rechargeable ZAB demonstrates excellent durability for 1000 h with slight voltage decay,far outperforming a couple of precious Pt/Ir-based *** functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that high activity of bimetallic Fe Co stems from enhanced O_(2)and OH-adsorption and accelerated O_(2)dissociation by OAO bond activation.

Hollow multishelled structural TiN as multi-functional catalytic host for high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)battery has attracted extensive attention because of its ultrahigh theoretical energy density and low ***,its commercialization is seriously hampered by its short cycling life,mainly due to the shuttle of soluble lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)and poor rate capability due to sluggish reaction *** significant efforts have been devoted to solving the problems,it is still challenging to simultaneously address all the ***,titanium nitride hollow multishelled structure(TiN HoMS)sphere is designed as a multi-functional catalytic host for sulfur ***,with good conductivity,can effectively catalyze the redox conversion of S and LiPSs,while its surficial oxidation passivation layer can strongly anchor ***,HoMS enables TiN nanoparticle subunits to expose abundant active sites for anchoring and promoting conversion of LiPSs,while the multiple shells provide physical barriers to restrict the shuttle *** addition,HoMS can buffer the volume expansion of sulfur and shorten the charge transport *** a result,the sulfur cathode based on triple-shelled TiN HoMS exhibits an initial specific capacity of 1016 mAh·g-1 at a high sulfur loading of 2.8 mg·cm-2 and maintains 823 mAh·g-1 after 100 ***,it shows a four times higher specific capacity than the one without TiN host at 2 C.

Constructing BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)@polypyrrole composites with hollow multishelled structure for enhanced electromagnetic wave absorbing properties

BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)@polypyrrole(PPy)composites with hollow multishelled structure(HoMS)were constructed to enhance the electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of BaTiO_(3)-based absorbing ***_(3)/TiO_(2)HoMSs were prepared by hydrothermal crystallization using TiO_(2)Ho MSs as ***,FeCl3 was introduced to initiate the oxidative polymerization of pyrrole monomer,forming BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)@PPy HoMSs *** electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)HoMSs and BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)@PPy Ho MSs with different shell number were investigated using a vector network *** results indicate that BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)@PPy HoMSs exhibit improved microwave absorption compared with BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)*** particular,tripled-shelled BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)@PPy HoMS has the most excellent absorbing *** best reflection loss can reach up to-21.80 dB at 13.34 GHz with a corresponding absorber thickness of only 1.3 mm,and the qualified absorption bandwidth of tripled-shelled BaTiO_(3)/TiO_(2)@PPy HoMS is up to 4.2 *** work paves a new way for the development of high-performance composite microwave absorbing materials.

Biowaste derived porous carbon sponge for high performance supercapacitors

Here,an agricultural waste(the stem pith of helianthus annuus,SPHA)is firstly used as the precursor for preparing three-dimensional(3D)porous carbon sponge(PCS).The as-prepared 3D PCS(SPHA-700)possesses unique sponge-like structure,large specific surface area(SSA)and high nitrogen doping level(4.52 at.%),which benefit the enhancement of conductivity(5.8 S cm;)and *** a binder-free electrode for solid-state symmetric supercapacitor,SPHA-700 delivers a relatively high specific capacitance of137.1 F g^(-1)at 0.5 Ag^(-1).Moreover,activated SPHA-700(SPHA-ac-700–2)displays an even higher specific capacitance(403.6 F g^(-1)at 0.5 Ag^(-1))in 6.0 M KOH *** SPHA-ac-700–2-based symmetrical supercapacitor can offer high specific capacitance(271 F g^(-1)at 1 Ag^(-1))and good rate capability(82.1%of capacitance retention at 1–80 Ag^(-1))in 6.0 M KOH electrolyte,together with high energy density(23.3 Wh kg^(-1)at 450 W kg^(-1))in 1.0 M Na_(2)SO_(4)*** excellent performance of SPHA-ac-700–2 is believed to have originated from the crushed sponge-like structure,O/N-co-doping(10.6 at.%O and3.3 at.%N),high SSA,large total pore volume,and hierarchical pore structure.

Highly dispersible cerium-oxide modified Ni/SBA-15 for steam reforming of bio-mass based JP10

Ni/SBA-15 modified by highly dispersed cerium-oxide was prepared with the aid of sucrose for steam reforming of JP10(C_(10)H(16)).Their characterization showed that addition of appropriate amount ceria led to the formation of highly dispersed CeO_(2)and Ni,and the CeO_(2)covered smaller nickel particles like strawberry seeds to form much more interface between *** catalytic activity exhibited higher stability over time on stream of 6.5 h with conversion higher than 95%and higher carbon resistance(mass loss less than 4.5%by TG),which may derive from good properties below:(1)much more interface enhanced cooperation effect and increased turnover frequency at the interface;(2)the stronger interaction between Ni and ceria to suppress sintering by formation of Ni-O-Ce solid solution;(3)the large amount of oxygen vacancies from the formation of Ni-O-Ce solid solution and highly dispersed CeO_(2)to facilitate the water-gas-shift reaction and carbon removal.

Preparation and characterization of Rb-doped TiO_(2) powders for photocatalytic applications

TiO_(2)nanoparticles doped with different concentrations of Rb were prepared by sol–gel *** crystal structures of samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).It was confirmed by the Rietveld refinement method that the as-prepared samples crystallize in anatase phase and Rb doping induces expansion and distortion of the crystal *** with the pure TiO_(2),the Rb-doped nanoparticles have smaller crystal size and better *** rate of methylene blue was used to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of Rb–TiO_(2).It indicated that doping Rb into TiO_(2)can effectively improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO_(2)and the mechanisms were discussed in *** using the sample doped with 0.20%Rb,methylene blue degraded with the fastest rate(97%within 60 min).

Effect of vacuum on porosity and mechanical properties of high-pressure die-cast pure copper

Pure copper tensile bars were produced by conventional die casting(HPDC) and vacuum-assist die casting(VADC) processes. Porosity and mechanical properties were investigated by using optical microscopy(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), X-ray computed tomography(XCT) and tensile tester. Results show that porosities including gas porosity and shrinkage porosity could be observed in copper castings. Since the application of vacuum could reduce filling related gas entrapment and facilitate solidification due to the increased heat transfer between metal and die, both number and size of the entrapped gases, as well as shrinkage porosities were significantly reduced in vacuum-assist die castings of pure copper. The porosity fraction decreased from 2.243% to 0.875% compared with that of the conventional die casting. Besides, mechanical properties were improved significantly, i.e., by 15% for ultimate tensile strength and three times for elongation.

Effects of alternate moistube-irrigation on soil water infiltration

Alternate moistube-irrigation is a new type of water-saving irrigation,and research on water infiltration with alternate moistube-irrigation is important for the design of irrigation schemes and helpful to understand and apply this *** effects of the pressure head(1.0 m and 1.5 m)and tube spacing(10 cm,20 cm,and 30 cm between two moistubes respectively)on soil water infiltration in alternate moistube-irrigation were studied in laboratory experiments,and the cumulative infiltration,discharge of the moistube,and shape and water distribution of the cross-section of the wetting front were *** cumulative infiltration increased quickly and linearly with the infiltration time at 0-96 h(R^(2)>0.99),and changed smoothly at 96-192 h with a basically steady infiltration *** discharge of the moistube increased rapidly at the beginning of irrigation,then decreased before *** cumulative infiltrations and discharges of moistube under the 1.5 m pressure head were more than those under the 1.0 m pressure *** shape of the cross-section of the wetting front for a single moistube was similar to a concentric *** the increase of tube spacing,the interaction between water infiltrations of two moistubes *** soil water distributions around two moistubes were similar to each other under the 1.0 m pressure head and large tube *** the tube spacing was 20 cm,the soil water distribution was more uniform around two moistubes.
