Printable oil-NiO_(X)hole transport layer enables efficient n-i-p perovskite solar cells with a high thermal stability

Currently,highly efficient n-i-p perovskite solar cells rely on an organic interface layer for high efficiency,especially 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis[N,N-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)ami-no]-9,9′-spirobifluorene(spiro-OMeTAD),but the instability of organic materials in the photothermal field compromises device stability.In this study,we employ the oleic acid(YS)/oleamine(YA)end-sealing method to achieve uniform dispersion of NiO_(X)nanoparticles,effectively mitigating coagulation resulting from high local concentration and secondary motion adsorption.Furthermore,the conductivity of the hole transport layer and its energy level alignment with perovskite is enhanced by the additional 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-7,7',8,8'-tetracyanodimethyl-p-benzoquinone(F4TCNQ),leading to a remarkable improvement of open-circuit voltage and fill factor,thus the high efficiency of 25.17%and 24.36%on 0.1 and 1.01cm2,respectively.Moreover,by realizing an all-inorganic interface layer,an initial efficiency exceeding 90%is maintained even after 2,800 h of heating at 85℃.

Sex-specific facilitation and reproduction of the gynodioecious cushion plant Arenaria polytrichoides on the Himalaya-Hengduan mountains,SW China

When benefiting other beneficiaries,cushion plants may reciprocally receive feedback effects.The feedback effects on different sex morphs,however,remains unclear.In this study,taking the gynodioecious Arenaria polytrichiodes as a model species,we aimed to assess the sex-specific facilitation intensity of cushion plant by measuring the beneficiary cover ratio,and to assess the potential costs in cushion reproductive functions by measuring the flower and fruit cover ratios.The total beneficiary cover ratio was similar between females and hermaphrodites.Females produced much less flowers but more fruits than hermaphrodites.These results suggested that females and hermaphrodites possess similar facilitation intensity,and female cushion A.polytrichoides may allocate more resources saved from pollen production to seed production,while hermaphrodites possibly allocate more resources to pollen production hence reducing seed production.The surface areas covered by beneficiaries produced less flowers and fruits than areas without beneficiaries.In addition,strong negative correlations between beneficiary cover and flower cover were detected for both females and hermaphrodites,but the correlation strength were similar for these two sex morphs.However,the correlation between beneficiary cover and fruit cover was only significantly negative for females,suggesting that beneficiary plants negatively affect fruit reproduction of females while have neutral effects on hermaphrodites.All the results suggest that to facilitate other beneficiaries can induce reproductive costs on cushion A.polytrichoides,with females possibly suffering greater cost than hermaphrodites.Such differentiation in reproductive costs between sex morphs,in long-term perspective,may imply sex imbalance in population dynamics.

In recent years,cardiovascular health problems are becoming more and more serious.At the same time,mechanical stimulation closely relates to cardiovascular health.In this context,Piezo1,which is very sensitive to mechanical stimulation,has attracted our attention.Here,we review the critical significance of Piezo1 in mechanical stimulation of endothelial cells,NO production,lipid metabolism,DNA damage protection,the development of new blood vessels and maturation,narrowing of blood vessels,blood pressure regulation,vascular permeability,insulin sensitivity,and maintenance of red blood cell function.Besides,Piezo1 may participate in the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis,diabetes,hypertension,and other cardiovascular diseases.It is worth noting that Piezo1 has dual effects on maintaining cardiovascular health.On the one hand,the function of Piezo1 is necessary to maintain cardiovascular health;on the other hand,under some extreme mechanical stimulation,the overexpression of Piezo1 may bring adverse factors such as inflammation.Therefore,this review discusses the Janus-faced role of Piezo1 in maintaining cardiovascular health and puts forward new ideas to provide references for gene therapy or nanoagents targeting Piezo1.

Degeneration of foundation cushion species induced by ecological constraints can cause massive changes in alpine plant communities

Foundational cushion plants can re-organize community structures and sustain a prominent proportion of alpine biodiversity,but they are sensitive to climate change.The loss of cushion species can have broad consequences for associated biota.The potential plant community changes with the population dynamics of cushion plants remain,however,unclear.Using eight plant communities along a climatic and community successional gradient,we assessed cushion population dynamics,the underlying ecological constraints and hence associated plant community changes in alpine communities dominated by the foundational cushion plant Arenaria polytrichoides.The population dynamics of Arenaria are attributed to ecological constraints at a series of life history stages.Reproductive functions are constrained by increasing associated beneficiary plants;subsequent seedling establishment is constrained by temperature,water and light availability,extreme climate events,and interspecific competition;strong competitive exclusion may accelerate mortality and degeneration of cushion populations.Along with cushion dynamics,species composition,abundance and community structure gradually change.Once cushion plants completely degenerate,previously cushion-dominated communities shift to relatively stable communities that are overwhelmingly dominated by sedges.Climate warming may accelerate the degeneration process of A.polytrichoides.Degeneration of this foundational cushion plant will possibly induce massive changes in alpine plant communities and hence ecosystem functions in alpine ecosystems.The assessment of the population dynamics of foundation species is critical for an effective conservation of alpine biodiversity.

The determination of catalytically active sites is crucial for the design of efficient and stable catalysts toward desired reactions.However,the complexity of supported noble metal catalysts has led to controversy over the locations of catalytically active sites(e.g.,metal,support,and metal/support interface).Here we develop a structurally controllable catalyst system(Pd/SBA-15)to reveal the catalytic active sites for the selective hydrogenation of ketones to alcohol using acetophenone hydrogenation as model reaction.Systematic investigations demonstrated that unsupported Pd nanocrystals have no catalytic activity for acetophenone hydrogenation.However,oxidized Pd species were catalytically highly active for acetophenone hydrogenation.The catalytic activity decreased with the decreased oxidation state of Pd.This work provides insights into the hydrogenation mechanism of ketones but also other unsaturated compounds containing polar bonds,e.g.,nitrobenzene,N-benzylidene-benzylamine,and carbon dioxide.

Smart drug delivery nanosystem is significant for tumor treatments due to its possibility of temporally,spatially,and dose-controlled release.However,the therapeutic efficacy of drug delivery nanosystem is often compromised in cancer treatment as the enrichment of therapeutic agents in the reticuloendothelial system.Herein,doxorubicin(DOX)loaded biomimetic drug delivery nanosystem with macrophage cell membrane(MCM)camouflaged,MnFe_(2)O_(4)-DOX-MCM nanocube(NC),is developed for cancer treatment with tumor targeting,pH-stimuli drug release,and chemo-photothermal therapeutic effects.The nanosystem shows the capability of immune escape and enhanced cellular uptake of cancer cells due to the MCM decoration.Acid-labile bond between the MnFe2O4 NCs and DOX remains stable at physiological condition and release drugs immediately in response to the endo-/lysosome pH stimuli.Meanwhile,the photothermal effect of the nanosystem destroys tumor tissue,which further promotes chemotherapeutic efficacy.In vivo results demonstrate the tumor homing ability and produce a notable synergistic therapeutic effect of the NCs.Thus,biomimetic pH-responsive drug delivery nanosystem,MnFe_(2)O_(4)-DOX-MCM NCs,is an effective nanoplatform,which might be potential application for cancer synergistic treatment.

980 nm Near-Infrared Light-Emitting Diode Using All-Inorganic Perovskite Nanocrystals Doped with Ytterbium Ions

All-inorganic perovskite(CsPbX3)nanocrystals(NCs)have recently been widely investigated as versatile solution-processable light-emitting materials.Due to its wide-bandgap nature,the all-inorganic perovskite NC Light-Emitting Diode(LED)is limited to the visible region(400-700 nm).A particularly difficult challenge lies in the practical application of perovskite NCs in the infrared-spectrum region.In this work,a 980 nm NIR all-inorganic perovskite NC LED is demonstrated,which is based on an efficient energy transfer from wide-bandgap materials(CsPbCl3 NCs)to ytterbium ions(Yb3+)as an NIR emitter doped in perovskite NCs.The optimized CsPbCl3 NC with 15 mol%Yb3+doping concentration has the strongest 980 nm photoluminescence(PL)peak,with a PL quantum yield of 63%.An inverted perovskite NC LED is fabricated with the structure of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/poly-TPD/CsPbCl3:15 mol%Yb3+NCs/TPBi/LiF/Al.The LED has an External Quantum Efficiency(EQE)of 0.2%,a Full Width at Half Maximum(FWHM)of 47 nm,and a maximum luminescence of 182 cd/m?.The introduction of Yb3+doping in perovskite NCs makes it possible to expand its working wavelength to near-infrared band for next-generation light sources and shows potential applications for optoelectronic integration.

Construction of ternary PEG200-based DESs lubrication systems via tailoring tribo-chemistry

Designing novel lubricants with easily customized structures,devisable compositions,and simple and economic synthesis over traditional lubricants is critical to fulfilling complex applications,prolonging machine lifetime,and saving energy.Deep eutectic solvents(DESs),which show tunable composition,adjustable structure,easy fabrication,and environmental friendliness,are promising candidates for variable and complicated lubricants applications.To promote the use of DESs as lubricants,a series of PEG200-based DESs with active heteroatoms were fabricated to tailor the tribological performance via tribo-chemistry.Thereinto,PEG200/boric acid(BA)DES shows optimal lubrication performance by forming tribo-chemical reaction film composited of B2O3,iron oxides,and FeOOH,and PEG200/thiourea(TU)DES displays abrasive wear-reducing property by producing FeS tribo-chemical film.Given the excellent abrasive wear-resistance of PEG200/TU DES and friction reduction of PEG200/BA DES,ternary PEG200/BA/TU DESs,composited of PEG200/TU DES and PEG200/BA DES,are first exploited.The ternary DESs possess superior wettability and thermal stability,which render them potential lubricants.Tribological tests of the ternary DESs demonstrate that synergistic lubrication is achieved by forming a transfer film consisting of FexBy,BN,B2O3,and FeS.Wherein FexBy,BN,and B2O3 increase load bearing of the film,and FeS mitigates severe abrasive wear.The proposed design philosophy of novel DESs as lubricants opens up a unique realm that is unattainable by traditional DESs lubrication mechanisms and provides a platform to design next-generation DESs lubrication systems.

Exploring Antarctic subglacial lakes with RECoverable Autonomous Sonde(RECAS): Design and first field tests

Conducting scientific drilling on subglacial lakes and obtaining samples of subglacial lake water holds great significance in unraveling the formation and evolution of Antarctic subglacial lakes and early Earth's life forms. Despite various approaches to access and directly sample subglacial water and sediments, clean access and exploration of subglacial lakes remain challenging.To address this concern, Jilin University has developed the RECoverable Autonomous Sonde(RECAS) prototype. This technology enables sampling and in-situ detection of subglacial lake water while being isolated from the surface, thus minimizing the risk of pollution. Laboratory tests, including downward and upward drilling, long-running, remote-control, and cold-environment assessments, were conducted to validate the sonde's principle and functionality. During the 38th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition, CHINARE(2021–2022 season), the RECAS prototype underwent testing on the flank region of D?lk glacier, 10 km from Zhongshan Station in Antarctica. Three boreholes with depths of 200.3, 183.2, and 133.5 m were successfully drilled, with the refrozen meltwater sealing the boreholes during the process. Approximately 600 mL of melted water samples were collected from each hole. Throughout the drilling tests, all systems of the RECAS prototype performed within the expected ranges.
