The authors report a giant hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with a diameter over 30 cm and weight over 10 kg that was resected completely.A 62-year-old man was admitted because of continuous abdominal uplift.A computed tomography scan demonstrated that the entire abdomen was filled with a giant tumor containing both cystic and solid components with a size of 29 cm×22 *** huge tumor was successfully resected without any complication,such as massive hemorrhage or visceral *** size and weight of the tumor were 35 cm×30 cm×15 cm and 10050 g,*** examination showed that the tumor was a well-differentiated HCC,and α-fetoprotein was *** syndrome,characterized by hypovolemic shock,diarrhea and urine retention,was observed and induced by abdominal *** syndrome was resolved with expectant *** patient was still alive without recurrence after a 27-mo follow-up.

Water stable mixed-matrix membranes(MMMs) were developed to help control the global warming by capturing and sequestrating carbon dioxide(CO_2) from post-combustion flue gas originated from burning of fossil *** of different compositions were prepared by doping glassy polymer Ultrason? S 6010(US) with nanocrystals of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIF-300) in varying degrees. Solution-casting technique was used to fabricate various MMMs to optimize their CO_2 capturing performance from both dry and wet gases. The prepared composite membranes indicated enhanced filler-polymer interfacial adhesion, consistent distribution of nanofiller, and thermally established matrix configuration. CO_2 permeability of the membranes was enhanced as demonstrated by gas sorption and permeation experiments performed under both dry and wet conditions. As compared to neat Ultrason? membrane, CO_2 permeability of the composite membrane doped with 40 wt% ZIF-300 nanocrystals was increased by four times without disturbing CO_2/N_2 ideal selectivity. In contrast to majority of previously reported membranes, key features of the fabricated MMMs include their structural stability under humid conditions coupled with better and unaffected gas separation performance.

The salt effects on molecular orientation at air/liquid methanol interface were investigated by the polarization-dependent sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy（SFG-VS）. We clarified that the average tilting angle of the methyl group to be u = 308 58 at the air/pure methanol surface assuming a d-function orientational distribution. Upon the addition of 3 mol/L Na I, the methyl group tilts further away from the surface normal with a new u = 418 38. This orientational change does not explain the enhancement of the SFG-VS intensities when adding Na I, implying the number density of the methanol molecules with a net polar ordering in the surface region also changed with the Na I concentrations. These spectroscopic findings shed new light on the salt effects on the surfaces structures of the polar organic solutions. It was also shown that the accurate determination of the bulk refractive indices and Raman depolarization ratios for different salt concentrations is crucial to quantitatively interpret the SFG-VS data.

A new method is presented to study the scattering and diffraction of plane SH-waves by periodically distributed canyons in a layered half-space. This method uses the indirect boundary element method combined with Green＇s functions of uniformly distributed loads acting on periodically distributed inclined lines. The periodicity feature of the canyons is exploited to limit the discretization effort to a single canyon, which avoids errors induced by the truncation of the infinite boundary, and the computational complexity and the demand on memory can be significantly reduced. Furthermore, the total wave fields are decomposed into the free field and scattered field in the process of calculation, which means that the method has definite physical meaning. The implementation of the method is described in detail and its accuracy is verified. Parametric studies are performed in the frequency domain by taking periodically distributed canyons of semi-circular and semi-elliptic cross-sections as examples. Numerical results show that the dynamic responses of periodically distributed canyons can be quite different from those for a single canyon and significant dynamic interactions exist between the canyons.

Objective:This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of an anti-epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)antibody(SCT200)and an anti-programmed cell death 1(PD-1)antibody(SCT-I10A)as third-line or subsequent therapies in patients with rat sarcoma viral oncogene(RAS)/v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B(BRAF)wild-type(wt)metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC).Methods:We conducted a multicenter,open-label,phase Ib clinical *** with histologically confirmed RAS/BRAF wt m CRC with more than two lines of treatment were enrolled and treated with SCT-I10A and *** primary endpoints were the objective response rate(ORR)and *** secondary endpoints included disease control rate(DCR),progression-free survival(PFS),and overall survival(OS).Results:Twenty-one patients were enrolled in the study through January 28,*** ORR was 28.57%and the DCR was 85.71%(18/21).The median PFS and OS were 4.14 and 12.84 months,*** treatment-related adverse events(TRAEs)were ***,compared with the monotherapy cohort from our previous phase I study evaluating SCT200 for RAS/BRAF wt m CRC in a third-line setting,no significant improvements in PFS and OS were observed in the combination ***:SCT200 combined with SCT-I10A demonstrated promising efficacy in previously treated RAS/BRAF wt m CRC patients with an acceptable safety *** head-to-head studies with larger sample sizes are needed to validate whether the efficacy and safety of combined anti-EGFR and anti-PD-1 therapy are superior to anti-EGFR monotherapy in the third-line setting.(Registration ***04229537).

AIM:To investigate the procedure, feasibility and effects of laparoscopeassisted continuous circulatory hyperthermic intraperitoneal perfusion chemotherapy (CHIPC) in treatment of malignant ascites induced by peritoneal carcinomatosis from gastric cancers. METHODS: From August 2006 to March 2008, the laparoscopic approach was used to perform CHIPC on 16 patients with malignant ascites induced by gastric cancer or postoperative intraperitoneal seeding. Each patient underwent CHIPC three times after laparoscopeassisted perfusion catheters placing. The first session was completed in operative room under general anesthesia, 5% glucose solution was selected as perfusion liquid, and 1500 mg 5 fluorouracil (5FU) and 200 mg oxaliplatin were added in the perfusion solution. The second andthird sessions were performed in intensive care unit, 0.9% sodium chloride solution was selected as perfusion liquid, and 1500 mg 5FU was added in the perfusion solution alone. CHIPC was performed for 90 min at a velocity of 450600 mL/min and an in flow temperature of 43 ± 0.2℃.RESULTS: The intraoperative course was uneventful in all cases, and the mean operative period for laparoscopeassisted perfusion catheters placing was 80 min for each case. No postoperative deaths or complications related to laparoscopeassisted CHIPC occurred in this study. Clinically complete remission of ascites and related symptoms were achieved in 14 patients, and partial remission was achieved in 2 patients. During the followup, 13 patients died 29 mo after CHIPC, with a median survival time of 5 mo. Two patients with partial remission suffered from port site seeding and tumor metastasis,and died 2 and 3 mo after treatment. Three patients who are still alive today survived 4, 6 and 7 mo, respectively. Recently, the space bvp of real or complex numbers consisting of all sequences whose differences are in the space lp has been studied by basar, Altay [Ukrainian Math. J. 55（1）（2003）, 136-147], where 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞. The main purpose of the present paper is to introduce the space bvp（F） of sequences of p-bounded variation of fuzzy numbers. Moreover, it is proved that the space bvp（F） includes the space lp（F） and also shown that the spaces bvp（F） and lp（F） axe isomorphic for 1 ≤ p ≤∞. Furthermore, some inclusion relations have been given.

Lead(Pb) and its compounds are common pollutants in industrial *** develop appropriate Pb 2+ treatment technologies,aerobic granules(AG) and bacterial alginates(ba) were studied as alternative biosorbents to remove Pb 2+ from aqueous *** biosorption mechanism of AG and ba were further analyzed to determine which functional groups in AG and ba are active in Pb 2+ *** this paper,the Pb 2+ biosorption behavior of AG and ba was respectively investigated in batch experiments from the perspectives of the initial pH,contact time,and initial Pb 2+ *** results showed that biosorption of Pb 2+ by AG and ba occurred within 60min at the initial Pb 2+ concentrations(0 150 mg L-1).The actual saturated Pb 2+ biosorption capability of AG was 101.97 mg g-1(dry weight of aerobic granular biomass).When the initial pH was 5,the biosorption capability of AG and ba was highest at the initial Pb 2+ concentrations(0 20mg L-1).During the process of Pb 2+ biosorption,K +,Ca 2+,and Mg 2+ were *** Ion Chromatography(IC) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR) further highlighted the main role of ion exchange between Ca 2+ and Pb 2+ and sequestration of Pb 2+ with carboxyl(-COO) of AG and *** analogical analysis verifies that ba is responsible for biosorption of Pb 2+ by *** the same optimal pH,AG cultivated with different carbon source has different Pb 2+ biosorption *** Pb 2+ biosorption by AG with sodium acetate as the sole carbon source is higher than AG with glucose as carbon source.
