Machine learning solution for regional landslide susceptibility based on fault zone division strategy

Landslide susceptibility assessment is an essential tool for disaster prevention and management. In areas with multiple fault zones, the impact of fault zone on slope stability cannot be disregarded. This study performed qualitative analysis of fault zones and proposed a zoning method to assess the landslide susceptibility in Chengkou County, Chongqing Municipality, China. The region within a distance of 1 km from the faults was designated as sub-zone A, while the remaining area was labeled as sub-zone B. To accomplish the assessment, a dataset comprising 388 historical landslides and 388 non-landslide points was used to train the random forest model. 10-fold cross-validation was utilized to select the training and testing datasets for the model. The results of the models were analyzed and discussed, with a focus on model performance and prediction uncertainty. By implementing the proposed division strategy based on fault zone, the accuracy, precision, recall, F-score, and AUC of both two sub-zones surpassed those of the whole region. In comparison to the results obtained for the whole region, sub-zone B exhibited an increase in AUC by 6.15%, while sub-zone A demonstrated a corresponding increase of 1.66%. Moreover, the results of 100 random realizations indicated that the division strategy has little effect on the prediction uncertainty. This study introduces a novel approach to enhance the prediction accuracy of the landslide susceptibility mapping model in areas with multiple fault zones.

Research on Credit Regulation Mechanism of E-commerce Platform Based on Evolutionary Game Theory

In the growing e-commerce industry,the problem of malicious business operations has become increasingly prominent,exposing many problems such as weak supervision of e-commerce platforms and no way for consumers to complain.In order to solve the problems of counterfeit and shoddy products on e-commerce platforms and promote the sustainable development of the e-commerce industry in China,this paper constructs a three-party evolutionary game model of e-commerce platforms,merchants,and consumers,investigates the influence of each influencing factor on each party’s strategy choice,and provides targeted suggestions to e-commerce platforms based on relevant factors.Finally,the impact of several important parameters on the equilibrium solution is discussed through sensitivity analysis.The results show that:1)the smaller the cost difference between active and negative regulation,the more the e-commerce platform tends to active regulation strategy,but increasing fines for dishonest merchants and consumer complaints have little impact on the e-commerce platform;2)increasing consumer compensation,creating an honest business environment,and reducing the cost of honest business all help companies tend to operate in good faith;3)the only factor that affects the tendency of consumer complaint strategies is the cost of complaints.The loss suffered by silence and the compensation given to consumers have little effect on consumers’tendency to complain strategy.The results can provide theoretical guidance for participants to make useful strategic decisions in the e-commerce market.

According to the World Health Organization’s world report on hearing,nearly 2.5 billion people worldwide will suffer from hearing loss by 2050,which may contribute to a severe impact on individual life quality and national economies.Sensorineural hearing loss(SNHL)occurs commonly as a result of noise exposure,aging,and ototoxic drugs,and is pathologically characterized by the impairment of mechanosensory hair cells of the inner ear,which is mainly triggered by reactive oxygen species accumulation,inflammation,and mitochondrial dysfunction.Though recent advances have been made in understanding the ability of cochlear repair and regeneration,there are still no effective therapeutic drugs for SNHL.Chinese herbal medicine which is widely distributed and easily accessible in China has demonstrated a unique curative effect against SNHL with higher safety and lower cost compared with Western medicine.Herein we present trends in research for Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of SNHL,and elucidate their molecular mechanisms of action,to pave the way for further research and development of novel effective drugs in this field.

Effect of manipulation on cartilage in rats with knee osteoarthritis based on the Rho-associated protein kinase/LIM kinase 1/Cofilin signaling pathways

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of manipulation treatment on knee osteoarthritis rats and the effect on Rho-associated protein kinase(ROCK)/LIM-kinase1(LIMK1)/Cofilin signaling pathway.METHOD:Fifty Specific pathogen Free Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups(n=8 each):blank group,model group,manipulation group,celecoxib group,and manipulation combined with celecoxib group(MC group).The osteoarthritis model was established by injecting 0.2 m L 4%papain into the articular disc of the rats.After successfully establishing the model,we treated the manipulation group with pushing manipulation using one-finger-meditation to the Neixiyan(EX-LE4),Waixiyan(EX-LE5),Xuehai(SP10),Liangqiu(ST34),and Zusanli(ST36)acupoints for 10 min each time.Also,the celecoxib group was gavaged with 24 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1 )celecoxib,while the MC group was treated using both of these two methods.After four weeks,the cartilage of the right femur was removed for hematoxylin-eosin staining of the cartilage tissue.The expressions of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in serum were observed using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Besides,we detected the expressions of ROCK,LIMK1,Phospho-LIM-kinase1(Phospho-LIMK1),Cofilin,and Phospho-Cofilin by Western blot.RESULTS:Compared to the model group,the manipulation group,celecoxib group,and MC group all exhibited superior results concerning pathological morphologic changes of cartilage,as observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining and calculated using the Mankin score.Besides,in contrast to the blank group,the model group exhibited elevated serum levels of IL-1βand TNF-α(P<0.01),while the expression of ROCK,LIMK1,Phospho-LIMK1,Cofilin,and Phospho-Cofilin in cartilage were all higher(P<0.01).Also,the serum levels of IL-1βand TNF-αin each treatment group were lower(P<0.01)than in the model group.Moreover,there were lower expressions of ROCK,LIMK1,Phospho-LIMK1,Cofilin,and Phospho-Cofilin in cartilage in the manipulation group and the MC group(P<0.01).Compared with t

Troy: Efficient Service Deployment for Windows Systems

The modern university computer lab and kindergarden through 12th grade classrooms require a centralized solution to efficiently manage a large number of desktops. The existing solutions either bring virtualization overhead in runtime or requires loading a large image over 30 GB leading to an unacceptable network latency. In this work, we propose Troy which takes advantage of the differencing virtual hard disk techniques in Windows systems.As such, Troy only loads the modifications made on one machine to all other machines. Troy consists of two modules that are responsible to generate an initial image and merge a differencing image with its parent image, respectively. Specifically, we identify the key fields in the virtual hard disk image that links the differencing image and the parent image and find the modified blocks in the differencing images that should be used to replace the blocks in the parent image. We further design a lazy copy solution to reduce the I/O burden in image merging. We have implemented Troy on bare metal machines. The evaluation results show that the performance of Troy is comparable to the native implementation in Windows, without requiring the Windows environment.

Employee Stock Ownership Plans and Stock-price Informativeness

This study examines the impact of employee stock ownership plans(ESOPs)on stock-price informativeness in Chinese stock markets.Its findings indicate that firms implementing ESOPs experienced an average 11.89 percent increase in stock-price informativeness.The plans improved stock-price informativeness through increased external attention and supervision.An event study shows that ESOPs gave rise to an announcement effect,driven by anticipated performance improvements and the novelty associated with ESOPs.A mechanism analysis demonstrates that the implementation of ESOPs attracted market attention,and the increased market supervision resulting from this mitigated the moral hazards of management associated with ESOPs.Plans with more positive signals exerted a greater influence.Notably,ESOPs that prioritized management incentives gained more recognition in the market.As the incentive effects of ESOPs were weaker than those of equity incentive plans and the ESOPs lost novelty over time,the annual announcement effect diminished gradually.These findings underscore the necessity of strengthening ESOP incentives for continued optimization of priceefficiency.

Theta Oscillations Support Prefrontal-hippocampal Interactions in Sequential Working Memory

The prefrontal cortex and hippocampus may support sequential working memory beyond episodic memory and spatial navigation.This stereoelectroencephalography(SEEG)study investigated how the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC)interacts with the hippocampus in the online processing of sequential information.Twenty patients with epilepsy(eight women,age 27.6±8.2 years)completed a line ordering task with SEEG recordings over the DLPFC and the hippocampus.Participants showed longer thinking times and more recall errors when asked to arrange random lines clockwise(random trials)than to maintain ordered lines(ordered trials)before recalling the orientation of a particular line.First,the ordering-related increase in thinking time and recall error was associated with a transient theta power increase in the hippocampus and a sustained theta power increase in the DLPFC(3–10 Hz).In particular,the hippocampal theta power increase correlated with the memory precision of line orientation.Second,theta phase coherences between the DLPFC and hippocampus were enhanced for ordering,especially for more precisely memorized lines.Third,the theta band DLPFC→hippocampus influence was selectively enhanced for ordering,especially for more precisely memorized lines.This study suggests that theta oscillations may support DLPFC-hippocampal interactions in the online processing of sequential information.

Design Optimization of a Self-circulated Hydrogen Cooling System for a PM Wind Generator Based on Taguchi Method

With the continuous improvement of permanent magnet(PM) wind generators' capacity and power density, the design of reasonable and efficient cooling structures has become a focus. This paper proposes a fully enclosed self-circulating hydrogen cooling structure for a originally forced-air-cooled direct-drive PM wind generator. The proposed hydrogen cooling system uses the rotor panel supports that hold the rotor core as the radial blades, and the hydrogen flow is driven by the rotating plates to flow through the axial and radial vents to realize the efficient cooling of the generator. According to the structural parameters of the cooling system, the Taguchi method is used to decouple the structural variables. The influence of the size of each cooling structure on the heat dissipation characteristic is analyzed, and the appropriate cooling structure scheme is determined.

By employing the asymmetric end-group engineering,an asymmetric nonfused-ring electron acceptor(NFREA)was designed and synthesized.Compared with the symmetric analogs(NoCA-17 and NoCA-18),NoCA-19 possesses broader light absorption range,more coplanarπ-conjugated backbone,and appropriate crystallinity according to the experimental and theoretical results.The organic solar cells based on J52:NoCA-19 exhibited a power conversion efficiency as high as 12.26%,which is much higher than those of J52:NoCA-17(9.50%)and J52:NoCA-18(11.77%),mainly due to more efficient exciton dissociation,better and balanced charge mobility,suppressed recombination loss,shorter charge extraction time,longer charge carrier lifetimes,and more favorable blend film morphology.These findings demonstrate the great potential of asymmetric end-group engineering in exploring low-cost and high-performance NFREAs.

In order to verify the feasibility of applying high-Jc Nb_(3)Sn strand in fusion magnet,a full-size cable-in-conduit conductor(CICC)with short twist pitch(STP)cable pattern was manufactured and tested in SULTAN facility at SPC,Switzerland.Three levels of cyclic electromagnetic(EM)load were applied on the sample stepwise,no visible decrease of current sharing temperature(TcsT was observed until the EM load increased to 80 kA×10.8 T,after that the Tcs decreased dramatically with the EM cycles,which suggested that irreversible deformation,causing a change in the strain state,or even damage has occurred in the superconducting strands.For investigating the reason which caused the conductor performance degradation,the tested conductor was dissected for metallographic observation.Eight segments which subjected to different EM loads were extracted from one of the legs,the geometric feature changes of the cable cross-sections were analyzed and compared.A good correlation was found between the decrease of the Tcs and deformation of the cable cross section.A mass of cracks were found on the sub-elements of strands in the segment which subjected to highest EM load,but the amount of crack is much lower in other segments.Combining the analyses,it is speculated that the critical EM load which causes irreversible degradation is between 850 kN/m and 870 kN/m for this conductor.The results could be a reference in high-Jc Nb_(3)Sn CICC design.
