An ideal interval method of multi-objective decision-making for comprehensive assessment of water resources renewability

In order to estimate water resources renewability scientifically, an Ideal Interval Method of Multiple Objective Decision-Making (IIMMODM) is presented. This method is developed through improving an ideal point method of multiple objective decision-making. The ideal interval is obtained with assessment standard instead of ideal points. The weights are decided by using the basic point and gray code accelerating genetic algorithm. This method has synthesized the expert’s suggestion and avoided giving a mark for the objective again. It could solve the complicated problem of compatible or incompatible multi-objective assessment. The principle of IIMMODM is presented in this paper. It is used to assess the water resources renewability for nine administrative divisions in the Yellow River basin. The result shows that the water resources renewability in the Yellow River basin is very low. Compared with the gray associate analysis method, fuzzy synthesis method and genetic projection pursuit method, the IIMMODM is easier to use. Compared with the ideal point method of multiple objective decision-making, the IIMMODM has good robustness, which is applicable to the comprehensive assessments of water resources.

A new method, node ordinal encoded genetic algorithm (NOEGA), is proposed for solving water resources optimal allocation problems, in which the capacity of water resources is split into a number of smaller parts so that successive operations can be overlapped. Our objective is to maximize the whole benefit function. To overcome the “dimensionality and algorithm complexity curse” while searching for solutions and looking for an optimal solution, the operations of one-point crossover operator, gene exchange operator, gene random operator, gene shift operator and node ordinal strings are established. It is proved to be an effective optimal method in searching for global solutions. The NOEGA does not need a diver{2. of initial population, and it does not have the problem of immature convergence. The results of two cases show that using NOEGA to solve the optimal allocation model is very efficient and robust. In addition, the algorithm complexity of NOEGA is discussed.

Is urban development an urban river killer? A case study of Yongding Diversion Channel in beijing, china

The high population and concrete environment alter urban areas by changing temperature, rainfall runoff, and water resource utilization activities. This study was conducted to investigate the water quality features of the Yongding Diversion Channel in beijing, china, and its relationship with rainfall and urban development. Monthly water quality data were obtained from April to October of 2.04 at monitoring sites of Sanjiadian, Gaojing, Luodaozhuang, and Yuyuangtan. The monthly water quality grades from 2.07 to 2.11 were also investigated and compared with those of other rivers. Dissolved oxygen and pH showed greater decreases after one or two moderate rainfall events than several light rainfall events. The potassium permanganate index （CODMn）, ammonia nitrogen （NH3-N） and total phosphorus （TP） increased more after several light rainfall events than after one or two moderate or heavy rainfall events. Pollutant concentrations （CODMn, NH3-N, TP） in downstream regions showed greater changes than those in upstream areas after heavy rainfall events. Intense human activities around the channel greatly influenced the water quality of the channel in rainy season because of runoff pollution; however, heavy rainfall had a strong dilution effect on the pollutant concentrations in rivers. Overall, urban development has obviously deteriorated the water quality of the Yongding Diversion Channel as indicated by an increase in the water quality index from 3.2. in 2.08 to 4.55 in 2.10. The Pearson correlation between monthly rainfall and water quality indices from 2.07 to 2.11 ranged from 0.12.6 to 0.6968, generally becoming weaker as rainfall and rainfall runoff became more random and extreme.

Parameter transferability across spatial resolutions in urban hydrological modelling:a case study in beijing,china

This study examined the influence of spatial resolution on model parameterization,output,and the parameter transferability between different resolutions using the Storm water Management ***-resolution models,in which most subcatchrnents were homogeneous,and high-resolution-based low-resolution models (in 3 scenarios)were constructed for a highly urbanized catchment in *** results indicated that the parameterization and simulation results were affected by both spatial resolution and rainfall *** simulated peak inflow and total runoff volume were sensitive to the spatial resolution,but did not show a consistent ***-resolution models performed very well for both calibration and validation events in terms of three indexes:1)the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency, 2.the peak flow error,and 3)the volume error;indication of the advantage of using these *** parameters obtained from high-resolution models could be directly used in the low-resolution models and performed well in the simulation of heavy rain and torrential rain and in the study area where sub-area routing is ***,sub-area routing should be considered and estimated *** successful scale conversion from high spatial resolution to low spatial resolution is of great significance for the hydrological simulation of ungauged large areas.

Ammonia-oxidizing archaeon(AOA)could play important roles for nitrogen removal in the bioreactors under conditions such as low pH and low dissolved ***,enhancing ammonia oxidation capability of AOA has great significance for water and wastewater treatment,especially under conditions like low dissolved oxygen *** a novel AOA strain SAT1,which was enriched from a wastewater treatment plant by our group,the effect of magnetic field on AOA’s ammonia oxidation capability,its magnetotaxis and heredity were investigated in this *** with control experiment,AOA’s maximum nitrite-N formation rate during the cultivation increased by 56.8%(0.65 mgN/(L·d))with 2. mT magnetic ***,it was testified that AOA possessed a certain ***,results manifested that the enhancement of AOA’s ammonia oxidation capability was not heritable,that is,lost once the magnetic field was ***,the possible mechanism of improving AOA’s ammonia oxidation capability by magnetic field was owing to the promotion of AOA single cells’growth and fission,rather than the enhancement of their ammonia oxidation *** results shed light on the application of AOA and methods to enhance AOA’s ammonia oxidation capability,especially in wastewater treatment processes under certain conditions.

Chemical characterization of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from multiple cooking cuisines and purification efficiency assessments

Cooking process can produce abundant volatile organic compounds(VOCs),which are harmful to environment and human ***,we conducted a comprehensive analysis in which VOCs emissions from multiple cuisines have been sampled based on the simulation and acquisition platform,involving concentration characteristics,ozone formation potential(OFP)and purification efficiency *** emissions varied from 182..5 to 14,355.1μg/m^(3),with the maximumand minimumvalues fromBarbecue and Family cuisine,*** and alcohol had higher contributions to VOCs from Sichuan and Hunan cuisine(64.1%),Family cuisine(66.3%),Shandong cuisine(69.1%)and Cantonese cuisine(69.8%),with the dominant VOCs species of ethanol,isobutane and *** comparison,alcohols(79.5%)were abundant for Huai{2. cuisine,while alkanes(19.7%),alkenes(35.9%)and haloalkanes(2..9%)accounted for higher proportions from ***,carbon tetrachloride,n-hexylene and 1-butene were the most abundant VOCs species for Barbecue,ranging from 8.8%to 14.6%.The highest OFP occurred in *** sensitive species of OFP for Huai{2. cuisine were alcohols,while other cuisines were *** efficiency assessments shed light on the removal differences of individual and synergistic control *** emissions exhibited a strong dependence on the photocatalytic oxidation,with the removal efficiencies of 2..0%–54.4%.However,the high voltage electrostatic,wet purification and mechanical separation techniques played a mediocre or even counterproductive role in the VOCs reduction,meanwhile collaborative control technologies could not significantly improve the removal *** results identifiedmore effective control technologies,which were conductive to alleviating air pollution from cooking emissions.

风浪扰动下南四湖悬浮颗粒物分布与侵蚀深度模拟

风浪扰动下河湖底泥再悬浮和沉降过程中悬浮颗粒物的分布、沉积对区域水土保持与环境保育具有重要意义。以山东南四湖南阳湖区为研究对象,在风情统计的基础上,利用Y型旋浆式底泥再悬浮装置对底泥再悬浮和沉降过程进行模拟,并对底泥悬浮颗粒物的动态分布特征和物理侵蚀深度进行研究。结果表明:小风、中风和大风扰动条件下,夏季和冬季南阳湖湖心区最大悬浮物增量分别比河口区高35.8%、2..0%、47.1%和54.2.、74.1%、2..7%,大风作用下湖心区和河口区夏季比冬季最大悬浮物增量分别高62.2.和2..6%;沉降过程显示,最初沉降6 h内,不同风速下悬浮物量均下降85%以上,2. h后,水柱中悬浮物浓度与风浪前初始浓度趋于一致;南阳湖不同风浪扰动条件下表层底泥侵蚀深度在0.09~13.73 mm之间。风浪扰动下南阳湖底泥再悬浮规律在空间和季节上差异显著,这种差异主要是由表层底泥颗粒尺寸的不同和冬季湖面被菹草大面积覆盖所致;风浪扰动停止后,最初沉降6 h是水体透明度恢复的关键;常规风情下,南阳湖底泥很难出现分米级甚至厘米级的表层底泥侵蚀。

氮沉降对植物群落的影响,特别是对脆弱生态系统中植物群落的影响,一直是生态学研究的热点问题。为了更好地探究氮沉降对脆弱生态系统植物群落不同功能群生理生态特征的影响,以青藏高原高寒草甸为研究对象,将植物群落划分为禾本科、莎草科、杂类草3种不同功能群,通过模拟氮沉降试验,观测不同氮添加水平下(0、8、2.、40、56、72.g·hm^(-2.·a^(-1)) 3种功能群数量特征和净光合速率的动态变化,以期揭示植物对氮沉降的响应规律。结果显示:1)氮添加对不同功能群植物数量特征的影响具有显著差异,氮添加提高了莎草科的多度和高度,而对禾本科和杂类草的多度和高度无显著影响(P>0.05),禾本科的地上生物量随着氮添加水平的升高表现出先下降后上升的变化趋势,而莎草科和杂类草的地上生物量随着氮添加水平的升高均表现出下降趋势; 2.氮添加对不同功能群植物光合作用的影响有显著差异,禾本科的净光合速率(P_n)随着氮添加水平的升高表现出先下降后上升的变化趋势,而莎草科和杂类草净光合速率均表现出线性下降趋势,氮添加显著提高了不同功能群植物的气孔导度(G_s)和蒸腾速率(T_r)。3)三个功能群植物的净光合速率与地上生物量之间均呈显著正相关。研究表明,短期高氮添加会削弱植物的光合能力,降低植物地上生物量的积累,抑制植物生长。
