Calibration of the Solar X-ray Detector on-board the Macao Science Satellite-1B for Soft X-ray Detection

The Solar X-ray Detector(SXD) on-board the Macao Science Satellite-1B(MSS-1B) was successfully launched via the Chinese Long March-2C rocket on 21 May 2023, and commenced operations in early June of the same year. The MSS-1B/Soft X-ray Detection Units(SXDUs) employ two silicon drift detectors(SDDs), providing a wide range of energy spectra spanning from 0.7 to 24 keV. Notably, the SXDUs deliver a high-resolution capability of 0.14 keV@5.9 keV and operate with a time cadence of 1 second. Here, we perform thorough calibrations of the MSS-1B/SXDUs, employing a combination of ground experiments and simulations. In addition, quantitative analysis comparing the flux measurements obtained by the MSS-1B/SXDUs to the data collected by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite(GOES), provides compelling evidence of their consistency. Furthermore, the preliminary spectral analysis results showcase the robustness and expected performance of the MSS-1B/SXDUs, unlocking their potential for facilitating the study of dynamic evolution of solar flares. Moreover, the innovative MSS-1B/Solar X-ray Detector facilitates concurrent observations of solar soft and hard X-rays, thereby making valuable contributions to the advancements in solar research.

Moderate Deviation for the Single Point Catalytic Super-Brownian Motion

We establish the moderate deviation for the density process of the single point catalytic super-Brownian motion. The main tools are the abstract Gaertner-Ellis theorem, Dawson-Gaertner the- orem and the contraction principle. The rate function is expressed by the Fenchel-legendre transform of log-exponential moment generation function.

Three new monophenanthrene compounds were isolated from an acetone extract of the tubers of Monomeria barbata Lindl. (Orchidaceae).Using spectroscopic methods,the structures of compounds 1-3 were determined as 1,4,7-trihydroxy-2-methoxy- 9,10-dihydrophenanthrene(1),1-(p-hydroxybenzoyl)-2-methoxy-4,7-dihydroxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene(2),1,3,8-tri(p-hydroxybenzyl) -4-methoxy-phenanthrene-4,7-diol(3).These compounds showed cytotoxicities on four tumor cell lines(HepG2, HL-60,Skov-3,A431).

SimET: An open-source tool for estimating crop evapotranspiration and soil water balance for plants with multiple growth cycles

Accurate estimation of crop evapotranspiration(ETc) and soil water balance, which is vital for optimizing water management strategy in crop production, can be performed by simulation. But existing software has many deficiencies, including complex operation, limited scalability, lack of batch processing, and a single ETc model. Here we present simET, an open-source software package written in the R programming language. Many concepts involved in crop ETc simulation are condensed into functions in the package. It includes three widely used crop ETc models built on these functions: the single-crop coefficient,double-crop coefficient, and Shuttleworth–Wallace models, along with tools for preparing model data and comparing estimates. SimET supports ETc simulation in crops with repeated growth cycles such as alfalfa, a perennial forage crop that is cut multiple times annually.

Ruyi Zhenbao Pills for Patients with Motor and Sensory Dysfunction after Stroke: A Double-Blinded, Randomized Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tibetan medicine Ruyi Zhenbao Pills(RZPs) in the treatment of patients with motor and sensory dysfunction after stroke. Methods: A total of 120 convalescent stroke patients hospitalized in the Rehabilitation Department of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine from June 2017 to December 2019 were enrolled in this trial. Patients were assigned to control(60 cases) and research(60 cases) groups by computer random assignment. All patients received internal treatment and modern rehabilitation training. On this basis, the research group was given oral RZPs for 4 weeks, while the control group was given oral placebo. The primary outcome was motor function of the affected side evaluated by simplified FuglMeyer Motion Assessment Scale(FMA-M). The secondary outcomes included sensory function, activity of daily living(ADL), quality of life, balance function, and pain, which were assessed by Fugl-Meyer Sensory Assessment Scale(FMA-S), Modified Barthel Index(MBI), Special Scale of the Quality of Life(SS-QOL), Berg Balance Scale(BBS), and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), respectively. All of the assessments were performed before treatment, and 4 and 8 weeks after treatment. Vital signs, liver and kidney functions, routine blood test, blood coagulation profile, and routine urinalysis of patients were monitored. Results: After 4-week treatment, the FMA-M, BBS and FMA-S scores in the research group significantly increased compared with the control group(P0.05). Moreover, after treatment, there was no significant difference in vital signs, liver and kidney functions, blood coagulation function, blood routine and urinalysis between the 2 groups(P>0.05). Effects of the properties of Mg(OH)_(2)precursor on the hydrothermal synthesis of magnesium oxysulfate whiskers

Magnesium oxysulfate(MOS)whiskers are commonly synthesized through a dissolution-precipitation mechanism,wherein Mg(OH)_(2)dissolves to form Mg(OH)_(6)^(4−),followed by reactions with SO_(4)^(2−)and H_(2)O to yield MOS ***,the impact of Mg(OH)_(2)precursor properties on the formation process of MOS whiskers has been insufficiently explored,and sector-like and needle-like morphologies were both observed in previous *** this study,we systematically investigated how the properties of Mg(OH)_(2)precursors influenced the crystalline structure and morphology of MOS *** various experimental conditions,MgSO_(4)·5Mg(OH)_(2)·2H_(2)O(152MOS)whiskers were consistently obtained,regardless of Mg(OH)_(2)morphology and *** size of Mg(OH)_(2)emerged as a critical factor in shaping the morphology of 152MOS ***-sized Mg(OH)_(2)(≤106±37 nm)favored the formation of sector-like whiskers,while larger-sized Mg(OH)_(2)(≥206±98 nm)encouraged the development of needle-like *** distinction was attributed to the slower dissolution rate exhibited by larger-sized Mg(OH)_(2),maintaining a smaller number of 152MOS nuclei and promoting the growth of needle-like whiskers instead of the aggregation of 152MOS nuclei into sector-like *** addition,the effects of the molar ratio of Mg^(2+)to SO_(4)^(2−)and hydrothermal temperature were also *** average length and diameter of the needle-like whiskers prepared with Mg(OH)_(2)of 331±145 nm under optimized conditions were 77±32 and 0.39±0.10μm,*** study presented an effective strategy for controlling the morphology of 152MOS whiskers.

Application of Prussian blue staining in the diagnosis of ocular siderosis

AIM:To explore the value of Prussian blue staining in the diagnosis of ocular ***:Between January 2012 and January 2013,the Prussian blue stain used in anterior lens capsule and vitreous liquid after centrifugation from patients with definitive diagnosis and suspicious diagnosed of ocular siderosis. At the same time, give a negative ***:Anterior lens capsule membrane and liquid of vitreous cavity from patients with definitive diagnosis and suspicious diagnosed of ocular siderosis revealed ferric ions that stained positively with Prussian blue. In the control group, there is no positive ***:Prussian blue staining in the diagnosis of ocular siderosis has a very significant worth,suspected cases can be definitive diagnosed.

Flexible GMRES(FGMRES)is a variant of preconditioned GMRES,which changes preconditioners at every Arnoldi *** often has to be restarted in order to save storage and reduce orthogonalization cost in the Arnoldi *** restarted GMRES,FGMRES may also have to be restarted for the same reason.A major disadvantage of restarting is the loss of convergence *** this paper,we present a heavy ball flexible GMRES method,aiming to recoup some of the loss in convergence speed in the restarted flexible GMRES while keep the benefit of limiting memory usage and controlling orthogonalization *** tests often demonstrate superior performance of the proposed heavy ball FGMRES to the restarted FGMRES.
