A diode-pumped Kerr-lens self-mode-locked laser is achieved by using Yb:Lu2SiO5(Yb:LSO)crystal without additional *** the incident pump power of 14.44 W,a self-mode-locked output power of 2.98 W is obtained in the five-mirror cavity,corresponding to an optical-optical efficiency of 20.6%.Pulses as short as 8.2 ps are realized at 1059 nm,with the corresponding pulse energy and peak power of 28.9 nJ and 3.5 kW,respectively.A pair of SF10 prisms are inserted into the laser cavity to compensate for the group velocity *** pulse width is compressed to 2.2 ps with an average output power of 1.25 W.

A diode-pumped acousto-op ti cal(A-O) Q-switched extra-cavity frequency-doubled Nd∶YVO_ 4/ KTP (KTiO PO_ 4) green laser formed with a simple plane-plane cavity has been demonst rated. With the incident pump power of 12.7 W, A-O Q-switched average output power at 1 064 nm was 3.81 W with a duration of 25 ns at a repetition rate of 20 kHz, extra-cavity frequency doubling with KTP as the nonlinear crystal y ielded the maximum output power of 1.92 W at 532 nm, the corresponding optical conversion efficiency from 1 064 nm to 532 nm light is 50.4%. The continuous -wave(CW) laser properties of diode-pumped Nd∶YVO_ 4 crystal operating at 1 064 nm have been studied. With the incident pump power of 25 W, the maximu m CW output power of 13.81 W was obtained with the corresponding optical conver sion efficiency of 55.24%.

Aiming at improving the survey efficiency of the Wide Field Survey Telescope, we have developed a basic scheduling strategy that takes into account the telescope characteristics, observing conditions, and weather conditions at the Lenghu site. The sky area is divided into rectangular regions, referred to as “tiles,” with a size of2°. 577 × 2°. 634 slightly smaller than the focal area of the mosaic CCDs. These tiles are continuously filled in annulars parallel to the equator. The brightness of the sky background, which varies with the moon phase and distance from the moon, plays a significant role in determining the accessible survey fields. Approximately 50connected tiles are grouped into one block for observation. To optimize the survey schedule, we perform simulations by taking into account the length of exposures, data readout, telescope slewing, and all relevant observing conditions. We utilize the Greedy Algorithm for scheduling optimization. Additionally, we propose a dedicated dithering pattern to cover the gaps between CCDs and the four corners of the mosaic CCD array, which are located outside of the 3° field of view. This dithering pattern helps to achieve relatively uniform exposure maps for the final survey outputs.

min-max disagreements are an important generalization of the correlation clustering problem(CorCP).It can be defined as *** a marked complete graph G=(V,E),each edge in the graph is marked by a positive label"+"or a negative label"_"based on the similarity of the connected *** goal is to find a clustering C of vertices V,so as to minimize the number of disagreements at the vertex with the most ***,the disagreements are the positive cut edges and the negative non-cut edges produced by clustering *** paper considers two robust min-max disagreements:min-max disagreements with outliers and min-max disagreements with *** parameter δ∈(0,1/14),we first provide a threshold-based iterative clustering algorithm based on LP-rounding technique,which is a(1/δ,7/(1-14δ))-bi-criteria approximation algorithm for both the min-max disagreements with outliers and the min-max disagreements with outliers on one-sided complete bipartite ***,we verify that the above algorithm can achieve an approximation ratio of 21 for min-max disagreements with penalties when we set parameter δ=1/21.

Plasmon-assisted mode selection lasing in a lanthanide-based microcavity

Lanthanide-based microlasers have attracted considerable attention owing to their large anti-Stokes shifts, multiple emission bands, and narrow linewidths. Various applications of microlasers, such as optical communication, optical storage, and polarization imaging, require selecting the appropriate laser polarization mode and remote control of the laser properties. Here, we propose a unique plasmon-assisted method for the mode selection and remote control of microlasing using a lanthanide-based microcavity coupled with surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) that propagate on a silver microplate. With this method, the transverse electrical(TE) mode of microlasers can be easily separated from the transverse magnetic(TM) mode. Because the SPPs excited on the silver microplate only support TM mode propagation, the reserved TE mode is resonance-enhanced in the microcavity and amplified by the local electromagnetic field. Meanwhile, lasingmode splitting can be observed under the near-field excitation of SPPs due to the coherent coupling between the microcavity and mirror microcavity modes. Benefiting from the long-distance propagation characteristics of tens of micrometers of SPPs on a silver microplate, remote excitation and control of upconversion microlasing can also be realized. These plasmon-assisted polarization mode-optional and remote-controllable upconversion microlasers have promising prospects in on-chip optoelectronic devices, encrypted optical information transmission, and high-precision sensors.

The impedance matching of absorbers is a vital factor affecting their microwave absorption(MA)*** this work,we controllably synthesized Material of Institute Lavoisier 88C(MIL-88C)with varying aspect ratios(AR)as a precursor by regulating oil bath conditions,followed by one-step thermal decomposition to obtain carbon-coated iron-based *** the precursor MIL-88C(Fe)preparation conditions,such as the molar ratio between metal ions and organic ligands(M/O),oil bath temperature,and oil bath time,influenced the phases,graphitization degree,and AR of the derivatives,enabling low filler loading,achieving well-matched impedance,and ensuring outstanding MA *** MOF-derivatives 2(MD_(2))/polyvinylidene Difluoride(PVDF),MD_(3)/PVDF,and MD4/PVDF absorbers all exhibited excellent MA properties with optimal filler loadings below 20 wt%and as low as 5 wt%.The MD_(2)/PVDF(5 wt%)achieved a maximum effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 5.52 GHz(1.90 mm).The MD_(3)/PVDF(10 wt%)possessed a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))value of−67.4 at 12.56 GHz(2.13 mm).A symmetric gradient honeycomb structure(SGHS)was constructed utilizing the high-frequency structure simulator(HFSS)to further extend the EAB,achieving an EAB of 14.6 GHz and a RL_(min) of−59.0 *** research offers a viable inspiration to creating structures or materials with high-efficiency MA properties.
