Magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium schemes with toroidal plasma flows and scrape-off layer are developed for the'divertor-type'and'limiter-type'free boundaries in the tokamak cylindrical *** a toroidal plasma flow,the flux functions are considerably different under the isentropic and isothermal *** effects of the toroidal flow on the magnetic axis shift are *** a high beta plasma,the magnetic shifts due to the toroidal flow are almost the same for both the isentropic and isothermal cases and are about 0.04a_(0)(a_(0)is the minor radius)for M_(0)=0.2(the toroidal Alfvén Mach number on the magnetic axis).In addition,the X-point is slightly shifted upward by 0.0125a_(0).But the magnetic axis and the X-point shift due to the toroidal flow may be neglected because M_(0) is usually less than 0.05 in a real *** effects of the toroidal flow on the plasma parameters are also *** high toroidal flow shifts the plasma outward due to the centrifugal *** profiles are noticeable different because the plasma temperature is a flux function in the isothermal case.

Sawtooth oscillations are often observed in Tokamak. Sawtooth-like phenomena appear in soft X-rays, hard X-rays, ECE and so on. Several models are proposed to explain sawtooth crash mechanisms. However, the sawtooth oscillations on the hard X-rays producd by the bombardment of the runaway electrons on a limiter have not yet been understood very well.

1 Introduction of neutral beam injection system on HL-2A The neutral beam injection （NBI） system on HL-2A includes two beam-lines about 8 meters long. Each beam-line consists of four ion sources. The ion source is the key component of neutral beam injector. It can be divided into two parts, an arc chamber and an accelerator system. The main parameters of HL-2A NBI system are the injection energy of 60 keV, maximum ion extraction power of 3 MW, beam power of 2 MW and pulse duration of 2 s. The beam line is tangentially injected into plasma along torus mid-plane. The angle between beam line and major radius is 37.7° at injection port.

Sheath potential coefficient α is a key parameter, which is used to estimate plasma potential(Vp)for edge plasma physics study. Recently, a series of experiments has been carried out under hydrogen plasmas in the J-TEXT tokamak with swept probe, which is employed for current–voltage(I–V) characteristic measurement. Electron temperature is evaluated from I–V curve by three-parameter fitting method, and the electron energy probability function shows that electron distribution is Maxwellian both outside and inside of last closed flux surface(LCFS). Plasma potential is obtained by crossing point between I–V exponential fitting curve and electron saturation current extrapolating line, which is in good agreement with first derivative probe technique. The α coefficient profile in the vicinity of the LCFS is obtained, which is in the range of 2.1–3, and decreases from outside to inside of LCFS.

The H-mode discharges with high edge pressure gradients are expected for the economic feasibility of future fusion reactors. However, the high edge pressure gradients easily produce ELM instability , which generally can expel large, heat and particle loading to the divertor targets. These ELMs limit the core plasma performance and reduce the lifetime of divertor target plates. The transports of heat and particles outward across plasma boundary are useful to control density and impurity profiles for achieving steady state, high performance plasmas. Consequently, any technique to eliminate or mitigate large fast ELM impulses must replace the transient heat and particle transports with another slow process. Such a technique is high priority for a burning plasma device such as ITER.

Fast reciprocating probe systems （ FRPS ） are widely used in some tokamaks, such as JT- 60 U, TEXT and DIlI-D. The parameters with high temporal-spatial resolution are measured for boundary plasmas using these systems. The FRPS on HL-2A is developed, which is composed of transmission bar, digital grating displacement system, electromagnetic valves, stepping motor and so on. The high-pressure gas from the electromagnetic valves controlled by trigger signals provides the power to drive the transmission bar forward or backward. Reciprocating distance is 8 cm with the maximum speed of 1.5 m·s^-1.
