Fine-grained grid computing model for Wi-Fi indoor localization in complex environments

The fingerprinting-based approach using the wireless local area network(WLAN)is widely used for indoor localization.However,the construction of the fingerprint database is quite time-consuming.Especially when the position of the access point(AP)or wall changes,updating the fingerprint database in real-time is difficult.An appropriate indoor localization approach,which has a low implementation cost,excellent real-time performance,and high localization accuracy and fully considers complex indoor environment factors,is preferred in location-based services(LBSs)applications.In this paper,we proposed a fine-grained grid computing(FGGC)model to achieve decimeter-level localization accuracy.Reference points(RPs)are generated in the grid by the FGGC model.Then,the received signal strength(RSS)values at each RP are calculated with the attenuation factors,such as the frequency band,three-dimensional propagation distance,and walls in complex environments.As a result,the fingerprint database can be established automatically without manual measurement,and the efficiency and cost that the FGGC model takes for the fingerprint database are superior to previous methods.The proposed indoor localization approach,which estimates the position step by step from the approximate grid location to the fine-grained location,can achieve higher real-time performance and localization accuracy simultaneously.The mean error of the proposed model is 0.36 m,far lower than that of previous approaches.Thus,the proposed model is feasible to improve the efficiency and accuracy of Wi-Fi indoor localization.It also shows high-accuracy performance with a fast running speed even under a large-size grid.The results indicate that the proposed method can also be suitable for precise marketing,indoor navigation,and emergency rescue.

BACKGROUND During emergency endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP),the safety and feasibility of performing one-stage endoscopic treatment for patients with acute cholangitis(AC)due to choledocholithiasis are unclear.AIM To investigate the safety and feasibility of one-stage endoscopic treatment for moderate to severe AC.METHODS We enrolled all patients diagnosed with moderate to severe cholangitis due to common bile duct stones from January 2019 to July 2023.The outcomes were compared in this study between patients who underwent ERCP within 24 h and those who underwent ERCP 24 h later,employing a propensity score(PS)frame-work.Our primary outcomes were intensive care unit(ICU)admission rates,ICU length of stay,and duration of antibiotic use.RESULTS In total,we included 254 patients and categorized them into two groups based on the time elapsed between admission and intervention:The urgent group(≤24 h,n=102)and the elective group(>24 h,n=152).Ninety-three pairs of patients with similar characteristics were selected by PS matching.The urgent ERCP group had more ICU admissions(34.4%vs 21.5%,P=0.05),shorter ICU stays(3 d vs 9 d,P<0.001),fewer antibiotic use(6 d vs 9 d,P<0.001),and shorter hospital stays(9 d vs 18.5 d,P<0.001).There were no significant differences observed in adverse events,in-hospital mortality,recurrent cholangitis occurrence,30-d readmission rate or 30-d mortality.CONCLUSION Urgent one-stage ERCP provides the advantages of a shorter ICU stay,a shorter duration of antibiotic use,and a shorter hospital stay.

Background Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-targeted agents have significantly improved the outcomes of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer;however,a large proportion of patients still develop resistance to trastuzumab.In this study,we investigated the efficacy and safety of inetetamab,another anti-HER2 antibody,combined with pyrotinib and oral vinorelbine in patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer so as to provide new ideas for the treatment.Methods In this prospective,single-arm,phase 2 trial,patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer with disease progression after trastuzumab were recruited.Patients received a combination of inetetamab(loading dose of 8 mg/kg and subsequent doses of 6 mg/kg intravenously once every 3 weeks),pyrotinib(400 mg orally once daily),and vinorelbine(60 mg/m^(2)orally once weekly)until disease progression or intolerable toxicity.The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS).The secondary endpoints included objective response rate(ORR),overall survival(OS),disease control rate(DCR),and safety.Results Between February 13,2022 and December 25,2022,30 patients were screened and enrolled in this study.The median age of the patients at enrollment was 54 years,12 patients(40.0%)had hormone-receptor-positive disease and 23 patients(76.7%)had visceral metastasis.The median PFS was 8.63 months(95%confidence interval[CI]4.15-13.12 months).The median OS was not reached.The ORR was 53.3%(16/30)and the DCR was 96.7%(29/30).The most common Grade III/IV adverse events were leukopenia(n=5,16.7%),neutropenia(n=4,13.3%),and diarrhea(n=3,10%).No treatment-related serious adverse events or deaths occurred.Conclusions The combination regimen of inetetamab,pyrotinib,and oral vinorelbine showed encouraging efficacy and favorable safety in patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer and could be considered as an alternative treatment option for the patients.

Ordovician integrative stratigraphy,biotas,and paleogeographical evolution of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas

The Ordovician rocks on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau represent the oldest non-metamorphic strata,and are critical to understanding the history of regional geology and biotic evolution of the entire plateau.Strata of Floian,Darriwilian,Sandbian,Katian and Hirnantian are represented in the plateau with a hiatus of variable duration occurring underneath the basal Ordovician across the area.Five stratigraphical regions,including the Himalaya,Gangdise-Zayu,Qiangtang-Qamdo,Songpan-Garze,and Karakoram-Kunlun-Altun,are differentiated for the Ordovician strata,which are correlated with their equivalents in the Sibumasu,Indochina,Qaidam-Qilian,Tarim-Tianshan,and the yangtze(western margin)stratigraphical regions.On the QinghaiTibetan Plateau,graptolites,conodonts,and cephalopods are the most common and useful fossils for the Ordovician biostratigraphy.The Ordovician biotas of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau bear some distinguishable palaeobiogeographical signatures,among which the cephalopods are characterized by the flourishing actinocerids of North China affinity in the Early-Middle Ordovician,and by the thriving lituitids and orthocerids of South China affinity in the Middle-Late Ordovician.Fossil occurrences and their palaeobiogeographical evolution provide critical evidence bearing on the reconstruction of the geological history of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and surrounding terranes in northeastern peri-Gondwana.The stratigraphical successions of the Cambrian-Ordovician transition in the Himalaya and Lhasa and nearby Sibumasu terranes were significantly affected by the Kurgiakh Orogeny,which resulted in the extensive unconformity between the Ordovician and the underlying rocks in most areas of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.In southern Xizang,a warm-water biota of Middle Ordovician age was recovered from oolitic limestones,suggesting a likely palaeogeographical location in low-latitudes near the equator.In the Himalaya and Sibumasu regions,the Upper Ordovician was typified by the occurrence of red carbonates with distinctive

Background Studying the composition and developmental mechanisms in mammary gland is crucial for healthy growth of newborns. The mammary gland is inherently heterogeneous, and its physiological function dependents on the gene expression of multiple cell types. Most studies focused on epithelial cells, disregarding the role of neighboring adipocytes.Results Here, we constructed the largest transcriptomic dataset of porcine mammary gland cells thus far. The dataset captured 126,829 high-quality nuclei from physiological mammary glands across five developmental stages(d 90 of gestation, G90;d 0 after lactation, L0;d 20 after lactation, L20;2 d post natural involution, PI2;7 d post natural involution, PI7). Seven cell types were identified, including epithelial cells, adipocytes, endothelial cells, fibroblasts cells, immune cells, myoepithelial cells and precursor cells. Our data indicate that mammary glands at different developmental stages have distinct phenotypic and transcriptional signatures. During late gestation(G90), the differentiation and proliferation of adipocytes were inhibited. Meanwhile, partly epithelial cells were completely differentiated. Pseudo-time analysis showed that epithelial cells undergo three stages to achieve lactation, including cellular differentiation, hormone sensing, and metabolic activation. During lactation(L0 and L20), adipocytes area accounts for less than 0.5% of mammary glands. To maintain their own survival, the adipocyte exhibited a poorly differentiated state and a proliferative capacity. Epithelial cells initiate lactation upon hormonal stimulation. After fulfilling lactation mission, their undergo physiological death under high intensity lactation. Interestingly, the physiological dead cells seem to be actively cleared by immune cells via CCL21-ACKR4 pathway. This biological process may be an important mechanism for maintaining homeostasis of the mammary gland. BACKGROUND As the primary microtubule organizing center in animal cells,centrosome abnormalities are involved in human colon cancer.AIM To explore the role of centrosome-related genes(CRGs)in colon cancer.METHODS CRGs were collected from public databases.Consensus clustering analysis was performed to separate the Cancer Genome Atlas cohort.Univariate Cox and least absolute shrinkage selection operator regression analyses were performed to identify candidate prognostic CRGs and construct a centrosome-related signature(CRS)to score colon cancer patients.A nomogram was developed to evaluate the CRS risk in colon cancer patients.An integrated bioinformatics analysis was conducted to explore the correlation between the CRS and tumor immune microenvironment and response to immunotherapy,chemotherapy,and targeted therapy.Single-cell transcriptome analysis was conducted to examine the immune cell landscape of core prognostic genes.RESULTS A total of 726 CRGs were collected from public databases.A CRS was constructed,which consisted of the following four genes:TSC1,AXIN2,COPS7A,and MTUS1.Colon cancer patients with a high-risk signature had poor survival.Patients with a high-risk signature exhibited decreased levels of plasma cells and activated memory CD4+T cells.Regarding treatment response,patients with a high-risk signature were resistant to immunotherapy,chemotherapy,and targeted therapy.COPS7A expression was relatively high in endothelial cells and fibroblasts.MTUS1 expression was high in endothelial cells,fibroblasts,and malignant cells.CONCLUSION We constructed a centrosome-related prognostic signature that can accurately predict the prognosis of colon cancer patients,contributing to the development of individualized treatment for colon cancer.

Hepatic encephalopathy is a serious neuropsychiatric complication caused by liver failure,which is characterized by the development of cognitive and motor disorders into coma.Typically,hepatic encephalopathy can be divided into three types(A,B,and C)according to the etiology.Type A hepatic encephalopathy(AHE)caused by acute liver failure seriously affects the prognosis of patients,ranging from mild neuropsychological changes to coma,brain edema,and even death.So far,the research on the pathogenesis of AHE has focused on the toxic effects of ammonia on the central nervous system,metabolic disorders(glutamine and lactate accumulation),neurotransmission alteration,systemic inflammation,especially neuro-inflammation.All these mechanisms are not independent,but mutually have synergistic effects.In clinic,treatment of AHE based on only one mechanism is often ineffective.To clarify the pathogenesis and the interaction among the mechanisms will be beneficial to the effective treatment of AHE and reduce the mortality.The aim of this review is to provide comprehensive scientific evidence for the clinical treatment of AHE via collecting and analyzing the latest mechanism of AHE,and clarifying the relationship among these mechanisms combing the investigation of the latest research progress of drug treatment of acute liver failure.Consequently,we find that the pathogenesis of AHE is a complex neurocognitive disorder shaped by interactions among hyperammonemia,inflammation,and changes in neurotransmission,the signaling pathways thereby integrating the inflammatory and neurological inputs to impact pathophysiological or neurobehavioral outcomes.

Resource allocation for D2D-assisted haptic communications

Haptic communications is recognized as a promising enabler of extensive services by enabling real-time haptic control and feedback in remote environments,e.g.,teleoperation and autonomous driving.Considering the strict transmission requirements on reliability and latency,Device-to-Device(D2D)communications is introduced to assist haptic communications.In particular,the teleoperators with poor channel quality are assisted by auxiliaries,and each auxiliary and its corresponding teleoperator constitute a D2D pair.However,the haptic interaction and the scarcity of radio resources pose severe challenges to the resource allocation,especially facing the sporadic packet arrivals.First,the contentionbased access scheme is applied to achieve low-latency transmission,where the resource scheduling latency is omitted and users can directly access available resources.In this context,we derive the reliability index of D2D pairs under the contention-based access scheme,i.e.,closed-loop packet error probability.Then,the reliability performance is guaranteed by bidirectional power control,which aims to minimize the sum packet error probability of all D2D pairs.Potential game theory is introduced to solve the problem with low complexity.Accordingly,a distributed power control algorithm based on synchronous log-linear learning is proposed to converge to the optimal Nash Equilibrium.Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed learning algorithm.

Excess soil salinity affects large regions of land and is a major hindrance to crop production worldwide.Therefore,understanding the molecular mechanisms of plant salt tolerance has scientific importance and practical significance.In recent decades,studies have characterized hundreds of genes associated with plant responses to salt stress in different plant species.These studies have substantially advanced our molecular and genetic understanding of salt tolerance in plants and have introduced an era of molecular design breeding of salt-tolerant crops.This review summarizes our current knowledge of plant salt tolerance,emphasizing advances in elucidating the molecular mechanisms of osmotic stress tolerance,salt-ion transport and compartmentalization,oxidative stress tolerance,alkaline stress tolerance,and the trade-off between growth and salt tolerance.We also examine recent advances in understanding natural variation in the salt tolerance of crops and discuss possible strategies and challenges for designing salt stress-resilient crops.We focus on the model plant Arabidopsis(Arabidopsis thaliana)and the four most-studied crops:rice(Oryza sativa),wheat(Triticum aestivum),maize(Zea mays),and soybean(Glycine max).
