We demonstrate a very convenient access to self-suspended pure poly（10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid）（PDA） nanoparticles （NPs） simply by adding the ethanol solution of diacetylene monomer to water, followed by UV irradiation. The as-obtained PDA NPs are of high purity because no any initiator, catalyst or stabilizer was used during the whole process. The stabilizer-free PDA NPs are stable in the aqueous suspension. Due to the high purity and stability, the PDA NPs can respond sensitively and selectively to lysine and arginine among 18 kinds of water soluble natural amino acids; without the competitive interaction from the stabilizer, the sensitivity was enhanced.

A nanoporous MoO3/ZrO2 mixed oxide was hydrothermally synthesized by hydrolyzing zirconium isopropoxide in the presence of a cationic surfactant, eetyltrimethylammonium bromide（CTAB）. The crystal structure and the acidity of the obtained nanoporous MoO3/ZrO2 mixed oxide were determined by means of XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption and NH3-TPD, respectively. The isobutane/butene alkylation over the MoO3/ZrO2 catalyst was carried out in a fixed bed reactor. The results reveal that ZrO2 in MoO3/ZrO2 exists mainly in the tetragonal phase, and the catalyst samples possess large specific surface areas as well as moderate acidity for isobutane/butene alkylation. Compared with samples prepared by impregnation and sol-gel processes, MoO3/ZrO2 mixed oxide samples prepared in this work have a better catalytic activity.

Background Advanced glycation end products （AGEs） play a critical role in the development of diabetic nephropathy. Reactive oxygen species （ROS） may play a critical role in AGEs induced growth factor expression. In this study, the effects of AGEs on transforming growth factor β1 （TGF-β1）, connective tissue growth factor （CTGF） and fibronectin （Fn） mRNA expression and oxidative stress in cultured NRK-49F cells were examined. Methods NRK-49F cells were incubated with medium containing different doses of AGEs （50, 100 or 200 μg/ml） for 24 hours, or with AGEs 100 μg/ml for different times （0, 12, 24 or 48 hours）. Cells in the serum-free medium or medium containing 25 mmol/L glucose were controls. Cells were treated with 25 mmol/L glucose and 100 μg/ml AGEs for 24 hours to determine the effects between AGEs and glucose. We clarified the role of antioxidant by pretreating cells with N-acetylcysteine （10 mmol/L）, ginkgo biloba extract （50 or 100 mg/L） for 24 hours and with 100 μg/ml AGEs for further 24 hours. Alamarblue dye assay was used to analyze cell growth; intracellular ROS generation was measured by flow cytometry; intracellular glutathione by fluorescence spectrophotometry; expressions of TGF-β1, CTGF and Fn mRNA by semiquantitative RT-PCR. Results AGEs significantly increased the expressions of TGF-β1, CTGF, Fn mRNA and intracellular ROS generation, and decreased the glutathion level in NRK-49F cells in dose- and time-dependent manners. High glucose and AGEs together significantly increased the expression of TGF-β1, CTGF and Fn mRNA, compared with AGEs and high glucose separately. Preincubation with N-acetylcysteine or ginkgo biloba extract increased GSH level, suppressed AGEs-induced oxidative stress and TGF-β1, CTGF and Fn mRNA overexpression. Conclusions AGEs can significantly increase expression of TGF-β1, CTGF, Fn mRNA in NRK-49F cells through enhancement of oxidative stress. Potential Anti-cancer Activity of Furanodiene

Objective： To study the isolated from the essential oil VIVO anti-tumor activities of furanodiene of the rhizome of Curcuma wenyujin （C15H200）, a primary sesquiterpene compound YH Chen et C. Ling（Wen Ezhu）, in vitro and in Methods： In vitro MTT assay was used to further study the effects of time and dosage on anti-proliferation of furanodiene against the sensitive Hela, Hep-2, HL-60, U251 cells, based on the cytotoxic effects of furanodiene on 12 human malignant tumor cell lines with the essential oil of Wen Ezhn as control., and the half-inhibitory concentration （IC50） was observed. In vivo uterine cervix （U14） tumor cell was selected and the conventional assay method of anti-tumor activity was employed. Furanodiene liposome was administered intraperitoneally, and tumor-inhibitory rate, thymus and spleen indexes were observed. Results： The inhibitive effects on cell proliferation were shown in all of the twelve cell lines and the cytotoxic effects of furanodiene against Hela, Hep-2, HL-60, U251 cells were observed after 12 h of administration, the effect could last for at least 48 h in a dose dependent manner, and the IC50 values were 0.6, 1.7, 1.8, 7.0μg/ml, respectively. Furanodiene was also found to show inhibitive effects on the proliferation of uterine cervix （U14） tumor induced in mice. The tumor inhibition rates were 36.09% （40 mg/kg）, 41.55% （60 mg/kg）, 58.29% （80 mg/kg）, respectively. Conclusion： Furanodiene is one of primary anti-cancer active components in the essential oil of Wen Ezhu, and also a very effective agent against uterine cervix cancer, and has protection effect on the immune function.

Background The neuroprotective effect of the cyclooxygenase （COX） inhibitor has been demonstrated in acute and chronic neurodegenerative processes. But its function under cerebral ischemic conditions is unclear. This study was designed to evaluate the neuroprotective efficacy of emulsified flurbiprofen axetil （FA, COX inhibitor） and its therapeutic time window in a model of transient middle cerebral artery occlusion （MCAO） in rats. Methods Forty-eight male SD rats were randomly assigned into six groups （n=8 in each group）; three FA groups, vehicle, sham and ischemia/reperfusion （I/R） groups. Three doses of FA （5, 10 or 20 mg/kg, intravenous infusion） were administered just after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion （I/R）. The degree of neurological outcome was measured by the neurologic deficit score （NDS） at 24, 48 and 72 hours after I/R. Mean brain infarct volume percentage （MBIVP） was determined with 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride （TTC） staining at 72 hours after I/R. In three other groups （n=8 in each group）, the selected dosage of 10 mg/kg was administrated intravenously at 6, 12 and 24 hours after I/R. Results The three different doses of FA improved NDS at 24, 48 and 72 hours after I/R and significantly reduced MBIVP. However, the degree of MBIVP in the FA 20 mg/kg group differed from that in FA 10 mg/kg group. Of interest is the finding that the neuroprotective effect conferred by 10 mg/kg of FA was also observed when treatment was delayed until 12-24 hours after ischemia reperfusion. Conclusion COX inhibitor FA is a promising therapeutic strategy for cerebral ischemia and its therapeutic time window could last for 12-24 hours after cerebral ischemia reperfusion, which would help in lessening the initial ischemic brain damage.

[目的]探明石阡茶树种质资源的遗传多样性和亲缘关系,为开发和保护石阡茶树资源提供理论依据。[方法]利用SSR分子标记技术,对贵州石阡7个茶树群体122份资源进行SSR位点多态性、遗传多样性及亲缘关系分析,并对不同地域来源的石阡茶树资源进行遗传距离分析。[结果]21对SSR引物共扩增出72个多态性位点,每对引物平均扩增3.43个位点,多态信息含量(PIC)为0.19~0.76,平均为0.51,等位基因在群体中分布均匀且多态性较高。7个茶树群体的Nei’s基因多样性指数(H)均值为0.22,Shannon信息指数(I)均值为0.33,多态位点百分率(PPB)均值为75%,遗传距离为0.0177~0.1036。122份石阡茶树资源的遗传距离为0.10~0.67,当遗传距离为0.21时,分为3个大类群:第I类群包含113份资源,第Ⅱ类群仅有1份茶树资源(SWXD009),第Ⅲ类群包含8份茶树资源,分别是SWXD-B、SWXD-F、SWXD-H、SWXD-M、SQT3、SQT4、SWX005和SWX006;在3个大类群中均有五德镇长兴村的茶树资源。[结论]贵州石阡茶树群体间的遗传差异较小,但群体内个体单株之间具有一定的遗传差异,尤其是五德长兴茶树群体内的遗传背景较丰富,筛选优异资源的基础较好。

RAPD Analysis of Germplasm Resources of Kudingcha Species in Oleaceae

The random amplified polymorphic DNA marker （RAPD） was applied to detect the genetic relationships and diversity among 21 germplasm materials of Kudingcha species in Oleaceae, which involved 8 species, i.e., Ligustrum robustum （Roxb.） Blume, L. henryi Hemsl., L. japonicum Thunb, L. japonicum Thunb. var. pubscens Koidz, L. lucidum Ait., L. pedunculare Rehd, Osmanthus masumuranus Hayata, and L. delavayanm Hariot. 20 RAPD primers selected were applied for the amplification on the 21 germplasm materials mentioned above. 427 bands were obtained, and the percentage of polymorphic bands （PPB） was 97.7%. The genetic similarity coefficients （GS） ranged from 0.1522 to 0.8322 with an average of 0.5466. There was a significant genetic difference among germplasm materials of Kudingcha species in Oleaceae, and UPGMA cluster based on the GS of RAPD could distinguish all test germplasm materials clearly and indicated the relationship of the 8 species mentioned above, all of which indicated that RAPD markers could be used for the studies of genetic diversity and relationship and classification of germplasm resources of Kudingcha species in Oleaceae. Analysis results of RAPD showed that L. japonicum Thunb. var. pubscens Koidz has closer genetic relationship with L. pedunculare Rehd and further genetic relationship with L. japonicum Thunb. among all tested species. The authors suggest that further research is needed to study whether L. japonicum Thunb. var. pubscens Koidz should be classified into a variata of L. japonicum Thunb, or should be considered as an independent species. The analysis results supported that L. pururascens Y. C. yang should be combined into L. robustum （Roxb.） Blume.

The reaction kinetics of alloys based on magnesium are known to be greatly improved by the partial substitution of Mg with rare earths and transition metals,particularly *** enhanced superficial hydrogen dissociation rate,the weakened Mg-H bond and the lower activation energy following element replacement are thought to be related to the better *** experimental alloys Ce5Mg_(95-x)Ni_(x)(x=5,10,15)were smelted by the vacuum induction *** phase transformation and structural evolution of experimental alloys before and after reaction with hydrogen were char-acterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** cast specimens contain CeMg_(12),Mg and Mg_(2)Ni phases,and the increase in Ni content results in an obvious growth of Mg_(2)Ni *** isothermal and non-isothermal hydrogenation and dehydrogenation kinetics of the experimental specimens were investi-gated using the Sievert apparatus,differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric *** activation energy may be calculated using the Arrhenius and Kissinger *** experimental alloys have been shown to have good activation properties,with a reversible hydriding and dehydriding capacities of around 5.0 wt.%in the first *** initial dehydrogenation temperature of MgH_(2) decreases from 557.5 to 537.7 K with changing Ni content from 5 to 15 at.%.The dehydrogenation activation energy also reduces from 77.09 to 62.96 kJ/mol,which explains the improved hydrogen storage performance caused by Ni *** can be shown that the impact of Ni on the decomposition enthalpy of MgH_(2) is quite modest,with the absolute enthalpy(ΔHr)only decreasing from 78.48 to 76.15 kJ/mol.
