Superconducting materials with high critical temperature have the potential to revolutionize many fields,including military,electronic communications,and power ***,scientists around the world have been tirelessly working with the ultimate goal of achieving high-temperature *** 2023,a preprint by lee et *** South Korea claimed the discovery of ultra-high-temperature superconductivity with a critical temperature of up to 423 K in Cu-doped lead-apatite(lK-99)(arXiv:2307.12008,arXiv:2307.12037),which caused a worldwide sensation and ***,the electronic structures,phonon dynamics,and electrical conductivities of lK-99 and its parent compound lead-apatite have been calculated using first-principles *** results show that the lead-apatite compound and the lK-99 compound are insulator and half-metal *** flat band characteristic is consistent with previous *** electrical conductivity of the lK-99 compound shows two extreme points,and the electrical conductivity along the C-axis increases significantly after 400 *** phonon dispersion spectra of the compounds were investigated,demonstrating their dynamic instability.

Motivated by a medical study that attempts to analyze the relationship between growth curves and other variables and to measure the association among multiple growth curves,the authors develop a functional multiple-outcome model to decompose the total variation of multiple functional outcomes into variation explained by independent variables with time-varying coefficient functions,by latent factors and by *** latent factors are the hidden common factors that influence the multiple outcomes and are found through the combined functional principal component analysis *** the coefficients of the latent factors one may further explore the association of the multiple *** method is applied to the multivariate growth data of infants in a real medical study in Shanghai and produces interpretable *** rates for the proposed estimates of the varying coefficient and covariance functions of the model are derived under mild conditions.

A novel fluorescent sensor for Al^(3+)and Zn^(2+)based on a new europium complex with a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand

A new europium complex Eu(tta)_(3)li(la)based on 1,10-phenanthroline derivative(li=(2-(3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1 H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline),tta=2-thenoyItrifluoroacetone)was designed and *** structure was characterized by^(1)H and^(13)C NMR,elemental analysis,UV-vis,fluorescence spectra and single crystal X-ray *** crystal of the complex la belongs to monoclinic system with the space group P2_(1/n).The europium complex la in the solid and in the solution displays the typical emission of Eu(III)ion centered at 612 nm as a result of the electric dipole transition(^(5)D_(0)-►^(7)F_(2)).It exhibits high quantum yield(20.42%),long lifetime(0.29 ms)and good CIE color coordinate(0.67,0.33)in *** addition,the complex shows high sensitivity and selectivity towards Al^(3+)and Zn^(2+)in methanol solution which can be attributed to the Al^(3+)/Zn^(2+)cation instead of Eu^(3+)in the complex *** lODs for Al^(3+)and Zn^(2+)were calculated to be 5.880×10^(-7)and 7.678×10^(-8)mol/l,***,the additions of Al^(3+)and Zn^(2+)express remarkable color changes from red to bright blue and ivory that can be clearly observed by the naked eye respectively.

Evaluation of carbon-based nanosorbents synthesised by ethylene decomposition on stainless steel substrates as potential sequestrating materials for nickel ions in aqueous solution

The present work covers the preparation of carbon-based nanosorbents by ethylene decomposition on stainless steel mesh without the use of external catalyst for the treatment of water containing nickel ions （Ni2＋）. The reaction temperature was varied from 650 to 850℃, while reaction time and ethylene to nitrogen flow ratio were maintained at 30 rain and 1：1 cma/min, respectively. Results show that nanosorbents synthesised at a reaction temperature of 650℃ had the smallest average diameter （75 nm）, largest BET surface area （68.95 m2/g） and least amount of impurity （0.98 wt.% Fe）. A series of batch sorption tests were performed to evaluate the effects of initial pH, initial metal concentration and contact time on Ni2~ removal by the nanosorbents. The equilibrium data fitted well to Freundlich isotherm. The kinetic data were best correlated to a pseudo second-order model indicating that the process was of chemisorption type. Further analysis by the Boyd kinetic model revealed that boundary layer diffusion was the controlling step. This primary study suggests that the prepared material with Freundiich constants compared well with those in the literature, is a promising sorbent for the sequestration of Ni2＋ in aqueous solutions.

A novel model was presented to predict the evolutionary development of cladding layer, and a method based on lambert-Beer theorem and Mie's theory was adopted to treat the interaction between powder stream and laser beam. By using the continuum model and enthalpy-porosity method, the fluid flow and heat transfer in solid-liquid phase change system were simulated. The commercial software PHOENICS, to which several modules were appended, was used to accomplish the simulation. Numerical computation was performed for Stellite 6 cladding on steel, the obtained results are coincident with those measured in experiment basically.

Theoretical Predition of Two-dimensional SiGeP_(2)by the Global Optimization Method

The well-developed particle-swarm optimization method together with density functional theory calculations were employed to search lowest-energy geometric structures of two-dimensional(2D)SiGeP_(2).Two newly found structures(P3m1 and Pmm2)are *** unbiased global search reveals that the two lowest-energy structures are honeycomb lattices with robust dynamical stabilities.A more accurate Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof(HSE06)hybrid functional is used to estimate the band structures of SiGeP_(2),which indicates that both the structures are semiconductors with indirect band-gap energies 1.80 e V for P3m1 and1.93 e V for Pmm^(2),*** the deformation potential theory,the P3m1-SiGeP_(2)is predicted to have high electron mobilities(6.4×10^(4)along zigzag direction and 2.9×10^(3)cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1)along armchair direction,respectively)and hole electron mobilities(1.0×10^(3)along zigzag direction and 2.5×10^(3)cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1)along armchair direction,respectively),which can be comparable with that of phosphorene and show anisotropic character *** addition,to estimate the elastic limit of SiGeP_(2),we also calculated the surface tension of SiGeP_(2)as a function of tensile *** results show that the 2D SiGeP_(2)may be good candidaticates for applications in nanoelectronic devices.

Motion of the moonlet in the binary system 243 Ida

The motion of the moonlet Dactyl in the binary system 243 Ida is investigated in this paper. First, periodic orbits in the vicinity of the primary are calculated, including the orbits around the equilibrium points and large-scale orbits. The Floquet multipliers’ topological cases of periodic orbits are calculated to study the orbits’ stabilities. During the continuation of the retrograde near-circular orbits near the equatorial plane, two period-doubling bifurcations and one Neimark–Sacker bifurcation occur one by one, leading to two stable regions and two unstable regions. Bifurcations occur at the boundaries of these regions. Periodic orbits in the stable regions are all stable, but in the unstable regions are all unstable. Moreover, many quasi-periodic orbits exist near the equatorial plane. long-term integration indicates that a particle in a quasi-periodic orbit runs in a space like a tire. Quasi-periodic orbits in different regions have different styles of motion indicated by the Poincare sections. There is the possibility that moonlet Dactyl is in a quasi-periodic orbit near the stable region I, which is enlightening for the stability of the binary system.

The Cr Fe Co Ni high-entropy alloy(HEA)exhibits excellent mechanical properties at lower temperatures due to its low stacking-fault energy,however,its medium-and high-temperature strengths are still *** consideration of the potential diversified applications,more strengthening approaches except for the previously proposed l12 phase hardening deserve further exploration due to its rapid coarsening tendency at high ***,we achieved significant high-temperature strengthening of the cast Cr Fe Co Ni HEA by in-situ precipitation of highly thermostable *** with 0.5 at.%and 1 at.%niobium and carbon were prepared by simple casting processes,*** cast,solute solution and aging.A highly thermostable microstructure was formed,which comprises very coarse grains accompanied with extensive thermostable carbide precipitates embedded,including submicrometer coherent Nb C particles in grain interiors and intergranular coherent M_(23)C_(6)*** high thermostability of microstructure,which is beneficial for the high-temperature loading,is ascribed to the synergy of lacking growth driving force and Zenner pinning effect by the *** properties tested at 673,873 and1073 K show that the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength are significantly increased by Nb/C doping,along with the elongation escalation at higher *** strengthening is mainly due to the precipitation hardening of carbide particles.
