The wireless transfer of power is of fundamental and technical interest,with applications ranging from the remote operation of consumer electronics and implanted biomedical devices and sensors to the actuation of devices for which hard-wired power sources are neither desirable nor *** particular,biomedical devices that are implanted in the body or brain require small-footprint power receiving elements for wireless charging,which can be accomplished by micromechanical ***,for fundamental experiments,the ultralow-power wireless operation of micromechanical resonators in the microwave range can enable the performance of low-temperature studies of mechanical systems in the quantum regime,where the heat carried by the electrical wires in standard actuation techniques is detrimental to maintaining the resonator in a quantum *** we demonstrate the successful actuation of micron-sized silicon-based piezoelectric resonators with resonance frequencies ranging from 36 to 120 MHz at power levels of nanowatts and distances of~3 feet,including comprehensive polarization,distance and power dependence *** unprecedented demonstration of the wireless actuation of micromechanical resonators via electric-field coupling down to nanowatt levels may enable a multitude of applications that require the wireless control of sensors and actuators based on micromechanical resonators,which was inaccessible until now.

Objective:To assess acute otitis media with facial nerve paralysis,its prognosis,and ***:It is a retrospective *** patients of acute otitis media associated with facial nerve paralysis attended the outpatient department of otorhinolaryngology between May 2017 and April *** patients were clinically assessed with appropriate investigations,prognosis,and ***:Out of 13 patients,2 were identified with complete facial paralysis and the remaining 11 patients presented with incomplete *** treatment including antibiotics and corticosteroids failed,while myringotomy and facial nerve decompression were done with a favorable *** patients recovered to grade-Ⅰ (House-Brackmann) and 2 cases to grade-Ⅱ (House-Brackmann).Conclusion:Peripheral facial nerve paralysis in acute otitis media is *** and steroids yield good outcome as conservative *** case of failure by conservative treatment,facial nerve decompression yields a favorable outcome.

A novel switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) extract mediated green process was demonstrated for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles from silver nitrate solution at ambient temperature. UV-visible spectroscopic analysis indicates the rapid reduction of silver (Ag+) ions by swithgrass extract. The silver nanoparticles began to form at 15 min and the reduction reaction was completed within 2 hours. Synthesized silver nanoparticles were subjected to x-ray diffraction (XRD) for structural characterization, which confirms the FCC symmetry of silver nanoparticles with the lattice parameter of 4.0962 ?. The particle size of bio-synthesized silver nanoparticles was identified through transmission electron microscopic (TEM) analysis and found to be in the range of 20 - 40 nm.

本文研究的目的是寻找储层温度下适合于致密砂岩的润湿改性表面活性剂，以提高致密油采收率。在储层温度（59℃）下，研究了8种阴离子表面活性剂（A1～A8：烷基醚硫酸盐和内烯烃磺酸盐）和3种非离子表面活性剂（NI、N2、N3）在不同盐度下的水稳定性；测量了不同盐度下的油水界面张力以及在富黏土矿物表面的接触角。通过两种盐度下的多组自吸实验，测试了表面活性剂的改性效果，并利用所得实验数据对文献中提出的尺度转换方程进行了验证。数值模拟结果表明，驱油速率随着润湿性改变程度、裂缝密度的增大和原油黏度的降低而逐渐增大。

Acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy associated with pegylated interferon α 2a therapy for chronic hepatitis C virus infection

The combination of pegylated interferon (Peg-IFN) and ribavirin is the standard of care for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection treatment. In general, common side effects related to this combination therapy are mild and are very well tolerated. However, peripheral neuropathy including demyelinating polyneuropathy related to Peg-IFN is extremely rare. We present the first case of an acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (AIDP) associated with Peg-IFN-α 2a (Pegasys) after 16 wk of a combination therapy with Pegasys and ribavirin in a 65-year-old woman with chronic HCV infection. She developed tingling, numbness, and weakness of her upper and lower extremities and was hospitalized for acute neurological deficits. Her clinical course, neurological findings, an electromyogram (EMG), nerve conductions studies (NCS), muscle biopsy, and a sural nerve biopsy were all consistent with AIDP likely related to Pegasys use. The patient recovered completely with the use of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) including physical therapy and neurological rehabilitation. It is very important that gastroenterologists and/or hepatologists recognize this rare neurological complication related to Peg-IFN treatment very early, since it requires a prompt discontinuation of therapy including an immediate referral to a neurologist for the confirmation of diagnosis, management, and the prevention of long-term neurological deficits.

Effects of 42-year long-term fertilizer management on soil phosphorus availability, fractionation,adsorption–desorption isotherm and plant uptake in flooded tropical rice

Soil phosphorus(P) fractionation, adsorption, and desorption isotherm, and rice yield and P uptake were investigated in flooded tropical rice(Oryza sativa L.) following 42-year fertilizer and manure application. The treatments included low-input [unfertilized control without N, P, or k(C0N0)], farmyard manure(FyM)(C1N0), NP(C0NP), NPk(C0NPk), FyM + NP(C1NP), and high-input treatment, FyM + NPk(C1NPk). Grain yield was increased significantly by 74%over the control under the combined application of FyM + NPk. However, under low- and high-input treatments, yield as well as P uptake was maintained at constant levels for 35 *** the same period, high yield levels and P uptake were maintained under the C0 NP, C0 NPk,and C1 NPk treatments. These are unique characteristics of a tropical flooded ecosystem, which is a self-sustaining system for rice production. The Fe–P fraction was highest compared to the Ca–P and Al–P fractions after 42 years of fertilizer application and was significantly higher under FyM + NPk treatment. The P adsorption capacity of soil was highest under the low-input treatment and lowest under long-term balanced fertilization(FyM + NPk). In contrast, P desorption capacity was highest under NPk and lowest in the control treatment. Long-term balanced fertilization in the form of FyM + NPk for 42 years lowered the bonding energy and adsorption capacity for P in soil but increased its desorption potential, increasing P availability to the plant and leading to higher P uptake and yield maintenance.

高桩桥梁受地震影响较大,特别是在可液化场地,以唐山地震中倒塌的胜利桥为原型,进行1:14.44缩尺模型振动台试验。通过连续的白噪声信号,获得桩自振频率的变化,从而研究可液化场地高桩桥梁的倒塌机制。结果表明,振动台试验可以很好地再现液化宏观现象,随着液化深度的加深,桩自振频率不断减小,从而导致桩顶位移增大,进而可能导致桥梁破坏甚至倒塌。

Quality semen production remains the main focus and objective of semen processing laboratories throughout the world. Bacterial and other microbial contaminants affect the semen quality and hence the fertility, and also lead to reproductive disorders as well as lower conception rates and increased embryonic mortality, abortion and other complications in females. Microbial contamination affects the semen adversely, by exerting direct spermicidal effect, formation of reactive oxygen species, toxin production, adherence with spermatozoa, deriving nutrients and oxygen from the medium and thus competing with spermatozoa for the factors of growth and normal functioning. Despite hygienic measures, several ubiquitous and opportunistic microbes find their ways into semen during collection, processing, and storage of semen, and survive even during freezing. Stringent sanitary precautions are therefore required at every step of collecting semen and its processing. Preputial cavity is considered as main source of semen contaminating microorganisms. Flushing the preputial cavity with normal saline or any suitable liquid combination with antimicrobial activity, prior to semen collection reduces the microbial load and thereby improves the semen quality.
