The physics of laser-plasma interaction is studied on the Shenguang III prototype laser facility under conditions relevant to inertial confinement fusion designs.A sub-millimeter-size underdense hot plasma is created by ionization of a low-density plastic foam by four high-energy(3.2 kJ)laser *** interaction beam is fired with a delay permitting evaluation of the excitation of parametric instabilities at different stages of plasma *** diagnostics are used for plasma characterization,scattered radiation,and accelerated *** experimental results are analyzed with radiation hydrodynamic simulations that take account of foam ionization and *** measured level of stimulated Raman scattering is almost one order of magnitude larger than that measured in experiments with gasbags and hohlraums on the same installation,possibly because of a greater plasma *** amplification is achieved in high-intensity speckles,indicating the importance of implementing laser temporal smoothing techniques with a large bandwidth for controlling laser propagation and absorption.

Upconversion luminescence and temperature sensing performance of Er^(3+) ions doped self-activated kyb(MoO_(4))_(2) phosphors

In this work,a series of self-activated kyb(MoO_(4))_(2) phosphors with various x at% Er^(3+) doping concentrations(x=0.5,1,3,5,8,10,15) was synthesized by the solid-state reaction *** phase structure of the as-prepared samples was analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD),XRD Rietveld refinement and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) *** as-prepared samples retain the orthorhombic structure with space group of Pbcn even Er^(3+) doping concentration up to 15 at%.High-purity upconversion(UC) green emission with green to red intensity ratio of 55 is observed from the as-prepared samples upon the excitation of 980 nm semiconductor laser and the optimum doping concentration of Er^(3+) ions in the self-activated kyb(MoO_(4))_(2) host is revealed as 3 at%.The strong green UC emission is confirmed as a two-photon process based on the power-dependent UC *** addition,the fluorescence intensity ratios(FIRs) of the two thermally-coupled energy levels,namely ^(2)H_(11/2) and ^(4)S_(3/2).of Er^(3+) ions were investigated in the temperature region 300-570 k to evaluate the optical temperature sensor behavior of the *** maximum relative sensitivity(S_(R)) is determined to be 0.0069 k^(-1) at300 k and the absolute sensitivity(S_(A)) is determined to be 0.0126 k^(-1) at 300 *** S_(A) of self-activated kyb(MoO_(4))2:Er^(3+)is almost twice that of traditional ky(MoO_(4))2:Er^(3+)/yb^(3+)codoping *** results demonstrate that Er^(3+) ions doped self-activated kyb(MoO_(4))2 phosphor has promising application in visible display,trademark security and optical temperature sensors.

Optimization of resource allocation in FDD massive MIMO systems

The performance of massive MIMO systems relies heavily on the availability of Channel State Information at the Transmitter(CSIT).A large amount of work has been devoted to reducing the CSIT acquisition overhead at the pilot training and/or CsI feedback *** fact,the downlink communication generally includes three stages,i.e.,pilot training,CsI feedback,and data *** three stages are mutually related and jointly determine the overall system ***,there exist few studies on the reduction of csIT acquisition overhead from the global point of *** this paper,we integrate the Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE)channel estimation,Random Vector Quantization(RVQ)based limited feedback and Maximal Ratio Combining(MRC)precoding into a unified framework for investigating the resource allocation *** particular,we first approximate the covariance matrix of the quantization error with a simple expression and derive an analytical expression of the received Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)based on the deterministic equivalence *** the three performance metrics(the spectral efficiency,energy efficiency,and total energy consumption)oriented problems are formulated *** practical system requirements,these three metrics can be collaboratively ***,we propose an optimization solver to derive the optimal partition of channel coherence *** results verify the benefits of the proposed resource allocation schemes under three different scenarios and illustrate the tradeoff of resource allocation between three stages.

Summer extreme precipitation patterns and synoptic-scale circulation precursors over the Tibetan Plateau

In the context of global warming,the extreme summer precipitation over the Tibetan Plateau(TP)has changed *** this study,the summer(June–August)extreme precipitation on the TP was classified into three spatial types by applying the k-means clustering method to the Third Pole Region long time-series high-resolution(1/30°)precipitation dataset(TPHi Pr,1979–2020).The characteristics of the circulation anomalies and precursors corresponding to the extreme precipitation on the TP in summer during 1979–2020 were *** results showed that the summer extreme precipitation of the TP can be categorized into northwestern(NW),southeastern(SE),and southern Himalayan(HS)types based on extreme precipitation *** NW and SE types are mainly influenced by anomalous signals in the mid-to-high latitude regions upstream of them,whereas the HS type is controlled by the localized subtropical anomalous *** the 8th day before the onset of the NW type,an anomalous cyclone was observed in the western Atlantic Ocean(60°W,50°N),which triggered the west-to-east quasi-latitudinal propagation of Rossby *** the onset day of the NW type,the upper troposphere showed positive-negative-positive geopotential height anomalies along the latitudinal 40°N from the Caspian Sea,the western part of Xinjiang,to the northeastern *** entered from the Arabian Sea along the southeastern edge of the anomalous cyclone on the southwestern TP and converged in the northwestern *** to the NW type,the precursors of the SE type appeared at higher latitudes and were more *** the 8th day before the onset of the SE type,an anomalous cyclone occurred near Greenland(60°W,70°N)and excited Rossby waves propagating *** the onset day of the SE type,the upper troposphere showed negative-positive-negative geopotential height anomalies across Eurasia from the Ural Mountains and the Iranian Plateau to the northern TP in the northwest-southeast directi

Large magnetostriction of Nd_(0.2)Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.5)Fe_(1.93)/epoxy composites in a wide temperature range

We report the magnetostrictive performance of the Nd_(0.2)Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.5)Fe_(1.93)/epoxy *** of M?ssbauer spectra and the XRD results indicate that the easy magnetic direction of the Nd_(0.2)Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.5)Fe_(1.93)compound is alongdirection with spontaneous magnetostrictionλ111 of1900 ***-oriented Nd_(0.2)Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.5)Fe_(1.93)/epoxy composites with particle volume fractions of20 vol%-55 vol%were *** measurements demonstrate that the composite is highly *** raw material cost of Nd_(0.2)Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.5)Fe_(1.93)is about 85%of that of the Terfenol-D(Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.7)Fe_(2))***_(0.2)Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.5)Fe_(1.93)/epoxy composites possess comparable magnetostriction with those composites made of Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.7)Fe_(2)*** room temperature,the magnetostrictionλ_Ⅱof the Nd_(0.2)Tb_(0.3)Dy_(0.5)Fe_(1.93)/epoxy composite reaches 420 ppm at a low field of 80 kA/m and about1000 ppm at 239 kA/*** addition,the composite exhibits a large saturation magnetostrictionλ_Ⅱover1200 ppm from 300 to 100 k,suggesting its potential applications as a low-cost magnetostrictive material in a wide temperature ***,the current study offers an opportunity to widen the operating temperature range of the magnetostrictive composite.

Solution-processed rare-earth thulium oxide with high permittivity for low-voltage transistor and inverters applications

The use of high-permittivity(high-k) thin films as gate dielectrics is essential in the development of lowpower electronics,In this work,rare-earth thulium oxide(Tm_(2)O_(3)) thin films were prepared by a facile solution process and annealed at various temperatures from 400 to 700℃.The evolution of the physical and dielectric properties of Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film with annealing temperature was *** is demonstrated that the Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film annealed at 600℃ exhibits the optimal performance,including a low leakage current of 3×10^(-10) A/cm^(2),a large areal capacitance of 250 nF/cm^(2) at 100 Hz,and a high permittivity value of *** Tm_(2)O_(3) thin film as a gate insulator was integrated into the thin film transistor(TFT) employing In_(2)O_(3)-based semiconducting *** In_(2)O_(3) TFT with 600℃-annealed Tm_(2)O_(3) dielectric exhibits the superior perfo rmance,with a high I_(on)/I_(off) of 1.65×10^(7),a small subthre shold swing(SS) value of 0.2 V/dec,a V_(TH) of+1.8 V,and a mobility of 1.68 cm^(2)/(V·s).Furthermore,an inverter constructed by connecting the TFT with a resistor exhibits full-swing *** work provides a facile and appealing method for preparing the high-k Tm_(2)O_(3) thin films as alternative gate dielectrics with the potential for use in low-power electronics and logic circuit applications.

Quantum heat engines and refrigerators are open quantum systems,whose dynamics can be well understood using a non-Hermitian formalism.A prominent feature of non-Hermiticity is the existence of exceptional points(EPs),which has no counterpart in closed quantum *** has been shown in classical systems that dynamical encirclement in the vicinity of an EP,whether the loop includes the EP or not,could lead to chiral mode ***,we show that this is valid also for quantum systems when dynamical encircling is performed in the vicinity of their Liouvillian EPs(LEPs),which include the effects of quantum jumps and associated noise—an important quantum feature not present in previous *** demonstrate,using a Paul-trapped ultracold ion,the first chiral quantum heating and refrigeration by dynamically encircling a closed loop in the vicinity of an *** witness the cycling direction to be associated with the chirality and heat release(absorption)of the quantum heat engine(quantum refrigerator).Our experiments have revealed that not only the adiabaticity breakdown but also the Landau–Zener–Stückelberg process play an essential role during dynamic encircling,resulting in chiral thermodynamic *** observations contribute to further understanding of chiral and topological features in non-Hermitian systems and pave a way to exploring the relation between chirality and quantum thermodynamics.

Numerical Investigation on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Microencapsulated Phase Change Material Slurry in a Rectangular Minichannel

Microencapsulation phase change material slurry(MEPCMS) becomes a potential working fluid for cooling high energy density miniaturized components,thanks to the latent heat absorption of particles in the heat transfer *** this work,the Discrete Phase Model(DPM) based on the Euler-Lagrangian method is used to numerically investigate the convective heat transfer characteristics of MEPCMS flowing through a rectangular minichannel with constant heat *** results show that particles of MEPCMS are mainly subjected to drag force during the *** so,they can migrate from the high-temperature region to the low-temperature region driven by the thermophoretic force,affecting the particle distribution and phase change ***,the Nux of the MEPCMS fluctuates due to particle phase change with varying specific heat ***,the value increases first,then decreases,and eventually increases again until it approaches the fully developed value of the pure base fluid as the particles gradually ***,the heat transfer performance of the MEPCMS is influenced by the combination of fluid inlet temperature fluid inlet velocity(v),and mass concentration(c_(m)) of MEPCM *** result shows that the maximum reduction of the maximum bottom wall temperature difference(ΔT_(w)) is 23.98% at T_(in)=293.15 k,v=0.15 m·s^(-1),c_(m)=10%.

Explosion resistance performance of reinforced concrete box girder coated with polyurea:Model test and numerical simulation

To study the anti-explosion protection effect of polyurea coating on reinforced concrete box girder,two segmental girder specimens were made at a scale of 1:3,numbered as G(without polyurea coating)and PCG(with polyurea coating).The failure characteristics and dynamic responses of the specimens were compared through conducting explosion *** reliability of the numerical simulation using LS-DyNA software was verified by the test *** effects of different scaled distances,reinforcement ratios,concrete strengths,coating thicknesses and ranges of polyurea were *** results show that the polyurea coating can effectively enhance the anti-explosion performance of the *** top plate of middle chamber in specimen G forms an elliptical penetrating hole,while that in specimen PCG only shows a very slight local *** peak vertical displacement and residual displacement of PCG decrease by 74.8% and 73.7%,respectively,compared with those of specimen *** the TNT explosion with small equivalent,the polyurea coating has a more significant protective effect on reducing the size of *** the increase of TNT equivalent,the protective effect of polyurea on reducing girder displacement becomes more *** optimal reinforcement ratio,concrete strength,thickness and range of polyurea coating were also drawn.
