Modulating the synergy of Pd@Pt core-shell nanodendrites for boosting methanol electrooxidation kinetics

The single-pot production of Pd@Pt core-shell structures is a promising approach as it offers large surface area,catalytic capability,and *** this work,we established a single-pot process to produce Pd@Pt core-shell nanodendrites with tunable composition,shape and size for optimal electrochemical ***@Pt nanodendrites with diverse compositions were synthesized by tuning the ratios of Pd and Pt sources in an aqueous environment using cetyltrimethylammonium chloride,which functioned as both the surfactant and the reducing agent at an elevated temperature(90°C).The synthesized Pd5@Pt5 nanodendrites showed exceptional electrochemical action toward the methanol oxidation reaction related with another compositional Pd@Pt nanodendrites and conventional Pt/C *** addition,Pd5@Pt5 nanodendrites exhibited good CO tolerance owing to their surface features and the synergistic effect among Pt and ***,nanodendrites with a Pt-rich surface provided exceptional catalytic active *** with the conventional Pt/C electrocatalyst,the anodic peak current obtained by Pd5@Pt5 nanodendrites was 3.74 and 2.18 times higher in relations of mass and electrochemical active surface area-normalized current density,*** approach offers an attractive strategy to design electrocatalysts with unique structures and outstanding catalytic performance and stability for electrochemical energy conversion.

Variations in microstructure and bending formability of extruded Mg–Al–Zn–Ca–y–MM alloy with precompression and subsequent annealing treatment conditions

In this study, the bending formability of an extruded Mg–9Al–1Zn–0.3Mn–0.9Ca–0.6y–0.5 MM(AZXWMM91100, wt%) alloy at room temperature is significantly improved through application of a combined precompression and subsequent annealing(PCA) treatment. As the amount of precompression applied along the extrusion direction(ED)(i.e., the total strain) increases from 4% to 6%, the area fraction of ED-oriented grains of the PCA-treated alloy increases, which consequently causes an improvement in its bending formability because these grains accommodate larger tensile strain along the ED during bending. As the temperature of the subsequent annealing treatment increases from 350 ℃ to 450 ℃, both the area fraction of the ED-oriented grains and the average grain size increase, and the residual dislocation density.decreases owing to the promotion of boundary migration and occurrence of the recovery process at higher ***, the bending formability of both the 4%-precompressed and the 6%-precompressed samples increases with an increase in the annealing temperature. However, when the precompressed samples are annealed at 300 ℃, their bending formability is lower than that of the extruded alloy because the dislocations formed by precompression remain even after the subsequent annealing at this temperature.

Large-scale transportation and storage of wood pellets:Investigation of the change in physical properties

The change in physical properties of wood pellets,with a focus on particle size distributions due to pellet breakage and attrition,was studied in a large-scale(∼450 ton/h)transportation *** locations with a high probability of breakage through the whole transportation system were chosen and sampled to study the effect of transportation system design and operation on the mechanical properties of *** density,mechanical durability,moisture content,and particle size distribution of pellets were characterized for each *** of variance showed that there were significant differences between the percentages of small particles(y at one with a vertical free fall of 7.8 *** average,this relatively long drop increased the proportion of particlesde deviation in the mechanical durability values,between a minimum of 90.8%and a maximum of 98.7%,which were not correlated to the sampling points but related to pellet *** can be concluded that pellet transportation systems require more dedicated design strategies to prevent breakage and attrition.

Glutamate reduces experimental intestinal hyperpermeability and facilitates glutamine support of gut integrity

Maternal-derived antibodies hinder the antibody response to H9N2 AIV inactivated vaccine in the field

The H9N2 subtype avian influenza virus(AIV)inactivated vaccine has been used extensively in poultry farms,but it often fails to stimulate a sufficiently high immune response in poultry in the field,although it works well in laboratory experiments;hence,the virus still causes economic damage every year and poses a potential threat to public *** on surveillance data collected in the field,we found that broilers with high levels of maternal-derived antibodies(MDAs)against H9N2 virus did not produce high levels of antibodies after vaccination with a commercial H9N2 inactivated *** contrast,specific pathogen-free(SPF)chickens without MDAs responded efficiently to that *** MDAs were mimicked by administering passively transferred antibodies(PTAs)into SPF chickens in the laboratory,similar results were observed:H9N2-specific PTAs inhibited humoral immunity against the H9N2 inactivated vaccine,suggesting that H9N2-specific MDAs might hinder the generation of antibodies when H9N2 inactivated vaccine was *** challenge with homologous H9N2 virus,the virus was detected in oropharyngeal swabs of the vaccinated and unvaccinated chickens with PTAs but not in the vaccinated chickens without PTAs,indicating that H9N2-specific MDAs were indeed one of the reasons for H9N2 inactivated vaccine failure in the *** different titers of PTAs were used to mimic MDAs in SPF chickens,high(HI=12 log2)and medium(HI=log 9 log2)titers of PTAs reduced the generation of H9N2-specific antibodies after the first vaccination,but a booster dose would induce a high and faster humoral immune response even of PTA *** study strongly suggested that high or medium titers of MDAs might explain H9N2 inactivated vaccine failure in the field.

From Wallpaper to Interactivity： Use of Archive Footage in Documentary Filmmaking

"Our relation to the past is being transformed by digital media. Internet and digital databases increase the presence of the past and remake our connection to both past and present" (Manoff, 2010, p. 9). The use of archive footage in documentary filmmaking has increased significantly, since the digitalization of audio-visual archives. Access is facilitated by databases and different interfaces. The theorization about the particular impacts of archive footage on the documentary text has not received much attention as yet as archive usage has been seen as unproblematic and digital archives as just "handy". This paper is a first step in the development of a taxonomy of how archive footage is being used by documentary filmmakers, while taken into account the production practices and the processes of archivization of archive materials.

In this paper, we prove the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of isometric homomorphisms in proper CQ＊-algebras for the following Cauchy-Jensen additive mapping： 2f[（x1＋x2）/2＋y]=f（x1）＋f（x2）＋2f（y） The concept of Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability originated from the Th.M. Rassias＇ stability theorem that appeared in the paper： On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., 72 （1978）, 297-300. This is applied to investigate isometric isomorphisms between proper CQ＊-algebras.

The development of urbanization and industrialization leads to rapid depletion of fossil ***,the production of fuel from renewable resources is highly *** energy conversion and storage is a benign technique with reliable output and is *** an exceptional electrochemical catalyst with tunable properties like a huge specific surface area,porous channels,and abundant active sites is critical ***,Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and two-dimensional(2D)transition-metal carbides/nitrides(MXenes)have been extensively investigated in the field of electrochemical energy conversion and ***,advances in the research on MOFs are hampered by their limited structural stability and conventionally low electrical conductivity,whereas the practical electrochemical performance of MXenes is impeded by their low porosity,inadequate redox sites,and ***,researchers have been designing MOF/MXene nanoarchitectures to overcome the limitations in electrochemical energy conversion and *** review explores the recent advances in MOF/MXene nanoarchitectures design strategies,tailoring their properties based on the morphologies(0D,1D,2D,and 3D),and broadening their future opportunities in electrochemical energy storage(batteries,supercapacitors)and catalytic energy conversion(HER,OER,and ORR).The intercalation of MOF in between the MXene layers in the nanoarchitectures functions synergistically to address the issues associated with bare MXene and MOF in the electrochemical energy storage and *** review gives a clear emphasis on the general aspects of MOF/MXene nanoarchitectures,and the future research perspectives,challenges of MOF/MXene design strategies and electrochemical applications are highlighted.
