Dear Editor,Triple-negative breast cancer(TnBC)accounts for 20%of all breast carcinomas and lacks a validated targeted therapy;thus,currently,cytotoxic chemotherapy is the treatment of choice[1].Compared with other breast cancer types,patientswith TnBCare younger,have larger tumors,a higher risk of metastasis,and a higher rate of recurrence[2].Among all the subtypes described by Lehmann et al.[3],mesenchymal-like and mesenchymal stem-like(MSL)subtypes had the lowest 5-year distant metastasis-free survival rates.

The use of plant species to cleanse groundwater with excessive concentrations of arsenic(As)derived from contact with weathered materials has become a valuable option to treat *** aim of this work was to analyze the bioaccumulation capacity of As of Senecio bonariensis(Asteraceae)through controlled laboratory tests and uncontrolled trials in the field in order to generate a low cost method applicable in rural areas that do not have systems of water *** collected from the natural environment were arranged in hydroponic crops under controlled and uncontrolled conditions,in the first case with increasing concentrations of As for 45 days,and in the second,with a constant concentration of As for a period in a range between 45 and 90 *** plants were processed and dried for the measurement of *** both tests,in all the samples there was a noticeable accumulation of As,generally greater in roots than in *** controlled conditions the plants accumulated more As in relation to greater concentration of this element in the *** all the trials a high bioaccumulation of As was found,which turns the plant into a *** to the ability of *** to accumulate As,and even more because of the great biomass produced by this species,it becomes an excellent one to be used for the remediation of arsenical waters.

Dystrophin is a membrane-associated protein responsible for structural stability of the sarcolem-ma in cardiac myocytes and is very sensitive to ischemic *** goal of our study was to determine if ischemic preconditioning could prevent dystrophin breakdown through inhibition of matrix metalloprotein-ase-2(MMP-2)*** rabbit hearts were subjected to global ischemia with or without reperfusion in order to evaluate if dystrophin is preserved by ischemic preconditioning through MMP-2 *** preconditioning significantly reduced the infarct size induced by 30 min of ischemia and 180 min of ***,it also diminished dystrophin proteolysis and attenuated MMP-2 activity after 30 min ***,our study shows a novel protective role of ischemic preconditioning as a mechanism of preservation of plasma membrane integrity by inhibiting MMP-2 activation.

The expansion of fast-growing tree plantations is a worldwide process,with consequences on soil fertility and soil carbon *** results were found on the effects of afforestation with Eucalyptus on soil carbon and other nutrient *** discrepancies are usually caused by differences in climate,land use history,soil texture as well as by management related factors such as plantation age,number of rotations,method of establishment(plantation or coppice),harvest residue management and soil *** studied the effect of plantation age,number of rotations,and method of establishment on soils and plant nutrient concentrations in Eucalyptus grandis plantations in nE Argentina on different textured *** also determined if yields changed with nutrient variations in soils,and compared soils under plantations to soils under grasslands they ***-one *** stands of different ages,number of rotations and method of establishment were evaluated as well as eight grassland *** of carbon,nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium,calcium and magnesium were determined for soils and *** carbon and nitrogen decreased over the number of rotations and were more pronounced in soils with 50-60%sand than soils with>75%*** stands showed higher soil carbon and nitrogen levels than plantations,suggesting a negative effect of site preparation before planting on soil nutrient conservation,especially in fine-textured *** nutrient concentrations did not follow the trends observed for soil nutrients nor did they reflect nutrient *** was no evidence of decreased yields over successive *** carbon and nitrogen contents decrease when grasslands are replaced by *** plantations,and therefore a yield limitation may occur in a medium to long-term frame,especially in stands re-established for short-rotation *** residue management and site preparation must be specifically designed for improving so

Articulated natural assemblages contain direct evidence of the element numbers,morphologies,positions and structures for reconstructing the feeding apparatuses of conodont animals,but these kind of materials are very rare in fossil *** we report ten new conodont natural assemblages from Member II of the Guanling Formation in Luoping County,eastern yunnan Province,southwestern *** assemblages were obtained from the fossil-bearing layers of the Luoping Biota,dated to the early Middle Triassic Anisian stage(Pelsonian substage).These fossiliferous laminated limestones mainly consist of calcites and dolomites,with platy clay minerals and pyrites as subordinate components,indicating that the conodont assemblages were preserved in a lower energy and anoxic sedimentary *** new natural assemblages preserve the primary collapse orientations of the nicoraella feeding apparatus from the Luoping Biota,showing the relative original positions of the S,M and P elements,that could be further used to refine the architecture of this apparatus in space variable M elements and the position unclear P1 *** previously reported three-dimensional and bilaterally symmetrical fused clusters,we statistically analyze the size of the positional homogenous elements within different sized materials,in particular S4,S3,or S2 elements,indicates that elements ontogenic changes do not affect the apparatus *** of nicoraella apparatus remains stable in the process of ontogeny,so our reconstructed model is *** is the first time that ample types of materials have been used to restore a conodont apparatus within one genus,namely natural assemblages(articulated and disarticulated),fused clusters(articulated,disarticulated,compressed,and relatively three-dimensional),and abundant discrete elements,*** materials together record the most complete information on architecture in the gondolelloid apparatuses,thus enabling us

to identify plant macrofossils,estimate peat humification and calculate hydroclimatic indices based on current bog species,with the overall aim of determining the climate conditions associated with evolution of the bog during the Medieval Climate Anomaly and the Little Ice *** proxies,together with historical and climate data,proved to be good indicators of the changes in bog surface ***:of the core led to identification of 9 different periods:two corresponding to the so-called Medieval Climate Anomaly(930 to 1345 AD,1075–665 calibrated years before present[*** BP]);four corresponding to the Little Ice Age(1345 to 1905 AD;665–105 cal yr BP);and three corresponding to the last century(1905 to 2000 AD).The findings revealed a generally dry climate that lasted until the 14th century,followed by a transition to a long period with a more humid,but characteristically very variable climate,which ended at the beginning of the 20th century and was followed by a rapid transition to more humid conditions and finally,a change to drier *** Medieval Climate Anomaly was indicated by the abundance of dry-adapted mosses(Leucobryum glaucum,Hypnum cupressiforme)and characterized by warm dry conditions and high levels of peat humification,with alternating wet *** LIA period was dated by a large abundance of Sphagnum species(an indicator of wetness)and a gradual increase in the humification ***,four different climate phases were differentiated in this ***-resolution reconstruction of the evolution of the CVM bog and the multiproxy approach have together enabled a more detailed identification of climatic variations in this area,which are generally consistent with the global models,as well as better definition of the elusive climatic oscillations in the last millennium and confirmation of the importance of local modulation of global *** study provides new information and a detailed chronology of climatic events that will hel
