Developing nonlinear additive tree crown width models based on decomposed competition index and tree variables

Crown development is closely related to the biomass and growth rate of the tree and its width(CW)is an important covariable in growth and yield models and in forest *** date,various CW models have been ***,limited studies have explicitly focused on additive and inherent correlation of crown components and total CW as well as the influence of competition on crown radius from the corresponding *** this study,two model systems were used,i.e.,aggregation method system(AmS)and disaggregation method system(DmS),to develop crown width additive model *** calculating spatially explicit competition index(CI),four neighbor tree selection methods were *** was decomposed into four cardinal directions and added into the model *** show that the power model form was more proper for our data to fit CW *** each crown radius and total CW,height to the diameter at breast height(HDR)and basal area of trees larger than the subject tree(BAL)significantly contributed to the increase of prediction *** 3-m fixed radius was optimal among the four neighborhoods selection *** adding decomposed competition Hegyi index into model systems AmS and DmS,the prediction accuracy *** the model systems evaluated,AmS based on decomposed CI provided the best performance as well as the inherent correlation and additivity *** study highlighted the importance of decomposed CI in tree CW modelling for additive model *** study focused on methodology and could be applied to other species or stands.

The electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is strongly correlated with active edge sites and resulting efficient charge transport ***,we presented a facile two-step method to synthesize 3 D hierarchical NiS2/moS2 composite nanostructures on a carbon fiber paper(CFP)*** nanostructures distributed on CFP uniformly and composed of 2 D nanosheets,which would provide plenty of active edge sites and increase the HER *** measurement suggests that the prepared NiS2/moS2 exhibit great HER activity including a low overpotential of 102 m V,a small Tafel slope of 67 m V/dec,and a high double-layer capacity of 53.7 m F/cm2 in 1 m KOH aqueous *** addition,the HER activity is almost unchanged after galvanostatic technique with applied current densities of10 m A/cm2 for 20 h.

Effects of ambient temperature on regulated gaseous and particulate emissions from gasoline-, E10- and m15-fueled vehicles

Ambient temperature has substantial impacts on vehicle emissions,but the impacts may differ between traditional and alcohol *** objective of this study was to investigate the effects of temperature on gaseous and particulate emissions with both traditional and alcohol *** gaseous,particle mass(Pm),particle number(PN)and black carbon(BC)emissions from typical passenger vehicles were separately quantified with gasoline,E10(10%ethanol and 90%gasoline by volume)and m15(15%methanol and 85%gasoline by volume)at both 30°C and-7°*** particulate emissions with all fuels increased significantly with decreased *** Pm emissions with E10 were only 48.0%–50.7%of those with gasoline at 30°C but increased to 59.2%-79.4%at-7°*** Pm emissions with m15 were comparable to those with gasoline at 30°C,but at-7°C,the average Pm emissions were higher than those with *** variation trend of PN emissions was similar to that of Pm emissions with changes in the fuel and *** 30°C,the BC emissions were lower with E10 and m15 than with gasoline in most cases,but E10 and m15 might emit more BC than gasoline at-7°C,especially *** results of the transient PN and BC emission rates show that particulate emissions were dominated mainly by those emitted during the cold-start ***,the particulate emissions with E10 and m15 were more easily affected by ambient temperature,and the advantages of E10 and m15 in controlling particulate emissions declined as the ambient temperature decreased.

Efficient nanostructured heterogeneous catalysts by electrochemical etching of partially crystallized Fe-based metallic glass ribbons

Although an increasing interest has been attracted to further develop heterostructured catalysts from metallic glasses(mGs) by heat treatment, overcoming surface oxidation effect is still a critical problem for such environmental catalysts. Herein, a short-time electrochemical etching of partially crystallized Febased ribbons in 0.3 m H3 PO4 electrolyte enables the formation of honeycomb-like nanoporous structure as effective catalytic active sites in Fenton-like process. Studies of structure and surface morphologies reveal that the formation of nanoporous structure by potentiostatic etching originates from electrochemical potential difference of nanocrystals(a-Fe(Si) and Fe2 B) and residual amorphous phase in partially crystallized ribbons, where Fe2 B having a lower open circuit potential tends to be selectively ***, thin oxide layer after electrochemical etching exposes more active sites for H2 O2 activation and provides an effective protection of nanocrystals from massive loss during etching. Investigation of optimal processing conditions suggests that the selection of electrolyte plays an important role;dye degradation rates of etched ribbons in HNO3 and Na2 SO4 electrolytes can also achieve at least 2 times higher than that of as-annealed ribbons. This work holds the promise to develop novel environmental catalysts by effective electrochemical etching of partially crystallized ribbons.

Aftershock sequence relocation of the 2021 m_(S)7.4 maduo Earthquake, Qinghai, China

The 2021 Qinghai maduo m_(S)7.4 earthquake was one of the strongest earthquakes that occurred in the Bayan Har block of the Tibetan Plateau during the past 30 years,which spatially filled in the gap of strong earthquake in the eastern section of the northern block *** this study,the aftershock sequence within 8 days after the mainshock was relocated by double difference *** results show that the total length of the aftershock zone is approximately 170 km;the mainshock epicenter is located in the center of the aftershock zone,indicating a bilateral *** aftershocks are mainly distributed along NWW direction with an overall strike of 285°.The focal depth profiles indicate that the seismogenic fault is nearly vertical and dips to southwest or northeast in different sections,indicating a complex *** is an aftershock gap located to the southeast of the mainshock epicenter with a scale of approximately 20 *** the eastern end of the aftershock zone,horsetaillike branch faults show the terminal effect of a large strike-slip *** is a NW-trending aftershock zone on the north side of the western section,which may be a branch fault triggered by the *** location of the aftershock sequence is close to the eastern section of the Kunlun mountain Pass-Jiangcuo(KmPJ)*** sequence overlaps well with surface trace of the KmPJ *** speculate that the KmPJ fault is the main seismogenic fault of the m_(S)7.4 maduo earthquake.

Constitutive modeling for Elevated Temperature Flow Behavior of30Cr2Ni4moV Ultra-super-critical Rotor Steel

In order to perform numerical simulation of forging and determine the hot deformation processing parameters for 30Cr2Ni4moV steel, the compressive deformation behaviors of 30Cr2Ni4moV steel were investigated at the temperatures from 970 to 1270 ℃ and strain rates from 0. 001 to 0.1 s-1 on a Gleeble-3500 thermo-mechanical simulator. The flow stress constitutive equations of the work hardening-dynamical recovery period and dynamical recrystallization period were established for 30Cr2Ni4moV steel. The stress-strain curves of 30Cr2Ni4moV steel predicted by the proposed model well agreed with experimental results, which confirmed that the proposed equations can be used to determine the hot deformation processing parameters for 30Cr2Ni4moV steel.

Refined microstructure and enhanced mechanical properties of AlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2) medium entropy alloy produced via laser remelting

A Co-free as-cast AlCrAlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2)medium entropy alloy(mEA)with multi-phases was remelted by fiber laser in this *** effect of laser remelting on the microstructure,phase distribution and mechanical properties was investigated by characterizing the as-cast and the remelted AlCrAlCrFe_(2)Ni_(2)*** laser remelting process resulted in a significant decrease of grain size from about 780μm to 58.89μm(longitudinal section)and 15.87μm(transverse section)and an increase of hardness from 4.72±0.293 GPa to 6.40±0.147 GPa(longitudinal section)and 7.55±0.360 GPa(transverse section).It was also found that the long side plate-like microstructure composed of FCC phase,ordered B2 phase and disordered BCC phase in the as-cast alloy was transformed into nano-size weave-like microstructure consisting of alternating ordered B2 and disordered BCC *** mechanical properties were evaluated by the derived stressstrain relationship obtained from nano-indentation tests *** results showed that the yield stress increased from 661.9 mPa to 1347.6 mPa(longitudinal section)and 1647.2 mPa(transverse section)after *** individual contribution of four potential strengthening mechanisms to the yield strength of the remelted alloy was quantitatively evaluated,including grain boundary strengthening,dislocation strengthening,solid solution strengthening and precipitation *** calculation results indicated that dislocation and precipitation are dominant strengthening mechanisms in the laser remelted mEA.

Combination immunotherapy has shown promising potential for enhancing the objective response rate compared to immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)***,combination therapy with multi-drugs is limited by the different properties of the agents and inconsistent synergistic targeted ***,based on a universal triterpene template and the anticancer active agent ursolic acid(UA),a cytomembrane-coated biomimetic delivery nanoplatform(UR@m)prepared by the selfassembly of a PD-L1 targeted CRISPR/Cas9 system and UA was designed for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)***@m showed enhanced tumor accumulation in vivo with homologous tumor targeting,and CRISPR in the nanosystem exhibited potent gene-editing efficiency of 76.53% in vitro and 62.42% in vivo with no off-target *** activated the natural immune system through the TLR-2-myD88-TRAF6 pathway,which synergistically enhanced the proliferation of natural killer cells and dendritic cells and realized excellent immune cytotoxic T cell infiltration by combining with the ICB of *** strategy of work along both lines based on innate immune and adaptive immunity displayed a significant effect in tumor ***,the UA-templated strategy“killed three birds with one stone”by establishing a self-assembly nanosystem,inducing tumor cell death,and promoting synergistic immunostimulation for HCC treatment.

Aluminum-ion battery(AIB)is very promising for its safety and large current charge–***,it is challenging to build a high-performance AIB system based on low-cost materials especially cathode&*** the low-cost expanded graphite-triethylaminehydrochloride(EG-ET)system has been improved in cycle performance,its rate capability still remains a gap with the expensive graphene-alkylimidazoliumchloride AIB *** this work,we treated the cheap EG appropriately through an industrial high-temperature process,employed the obtained EG3K(treated at 3000℃)cathode with AlCl_(3)-ET electrolyte,and built a novel,high-rate capability and double-cheap AIB *** new EG3K-ET system achieved the cathode capacity of average 110 m Ah g^(-1)at 1 A g^(-1)with 18,000cycles,and retained the cathode capacity of 100 m Ah g^(-1)at 5 A g^(-1)with 27,500 cycles(fast charging of 72 s).Impressively,we demonstrated that a battery pack(EG3K-ET system,12 m Ah)had successfully driven the model car running 100 m *** addition,it was confirmed that the improvement of rate capability in the EG3K-ET system was mainly derived by deposition,and its capacity contribution ratio was about 53.7%.This work further promoted the application potential of the low-cost EG-ET AIB system.

Optimization of the cavity beam-position monitor system for the Shanghai soft X-ray free-electron laser user facility

To achieve high-efficiency operation of the highgain free-electron laser(FEL),the electron beams and radiated photon beams need to be overlapped precisely and pass through the entire undulator ***,a high-resolution beam-position monitor(BPm)is required.A cavity BPm(CBPm)with a resonant cavity structure was developed and used in the Shanghai Soft X-ray FEL(SXFEL)test facility and can achieve a position resolution ofy also bring about higher requirements for beamposition *** this case,the factors that affect the performance of the CBPm system were further *** included the amplitude and phase stability of the local oscillator,stability of the trigger signal,performance of the radio frequency front-end,signal processing electronics,and signal processing *** on the upgrade and optimization of the system,a beam test platform was built at the end of the linear acceleration section of the SXFEL,and the experimental results show that the position resolution of the system can reach 177 nm at a bunch charge of 500 pC,and the dynamic range is controlled within±300μm,and the relative measurement uncertainty of the bunch charge can reach 0.021%,which are significant improvements compared to the attributes of the previous system.
