Fluctuation theorems have been applied successfully to any system away from thermal equilibrium,which are helpful for understanding the thermodynamic state *** investigate fluctuation theorems for strong coupling between a system and its reservoir,by path-dependent definition of work and heat satisfying the first law of *** present the fluctuation theorems for two kinds of entropy *** is the informational entropy production,which is always non-negative and can be employed in either strong or weak coupling *** other is the thermodynamic entropy production,which differs from the informational entropy production at strong coupling by the effects regarding the *** find that,it is the negative work on the reservoir,rather than the nonequilibrium of the thermal reservoir,which invalidates the thermodynamic entropy production at strong *** results indicate that the effects from the reservoir are essential to understanding thermodynamic processes at strong coupling.

Salsolinol(1-methyl-6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline,Sal)is a catechol isoquinoline that causes neurotoxicity and shares structural similarity with 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine,an environmental toxin that causes Parkinson's ***,the mechanism by which Sal mediates dopaminergic neuronal death remains *** this study,we found that Sal significantly enhanced the global level of N~6-methyladenosine(m~6A)RNA methylation in PC12 cells,mainly by inducing the downregulation of the expression of m~6A demethylases fat mass and obesity-associated protein(FTO)and alk B homolog 5(ALKBH5).RNA sequencing analysis showed that Sal downregulated the Hippo signaling *** m~6A reader yTH domain-containing family protein 2(yTHDF2)promoted the degradation of m~6A-containing yes-associated protein 1(yAP1)mRNA,which is a downstream key effector in the Hippo signaling ***,downregulation of yAP1 promoted autophagy,indicating that the mutual regulation between yAP1 and autophagy can lead to *** findings reveal the role of Sal on m~6A RNA methylation and suggest that Sal may act as an RNA methylation inducer mediating dopaminergic neuronal death through yAP1 and *** results provide greater insights into the neurotoxic effects of catechol isoquinolines compared with other studies and may be a reference for assessing the involvement of RNA methylation in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease.

Transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-β1)has been extensively studied for its pleiotropic effects on central nervous system *** neuroprotective or neurotoxic effects of TGF-β1 in specific brain areas may depend on the pathological process and cell types ***-gated sodium channels(VGSCs)are essential ion channels for the generation of action potentials in neurons,and are involved in various neuroexcitation-related ***,the effects of TGF-β1 on the functional properties of VGSCs and firing properties in cortical neurons remain *** this study,we investigated the effects of TGF-β1 on VGSC function and firing properties in primary cortical neurons from *** found that TGF-β1 increased VGSC current density in a dose-and time-dependent manner,which was attributable to the upregulation of Nav1.3 *** VGSC current density and Nav1.3 expression were significantly abolished by preincubation with inhibitors of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase(PD98059),p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(SB203580),and Jun NH2-terminal kinase 1/2 inhibitor(SP600125).Interestingly,TGF-β1 significantly increased the firing threshold of action potentials but did not change their firing rate in cortical *** findings suggest that TGF-β1 can increase Nav1.3 expression through activation of the ERK1/2-JNK-mAPK pathway,which leads to a decrease in the firing threshold of action potentials in cortical neurons under pathological ***,this contributes to the occurrence and progression of neuroexcitatory-related diseases of the central nervous system.

Robust, ultra-flexible, and multifunctional mXene-basedelectromagnetic interference (EmI) shielding nanocomposite filmsexhibit enormous potential for applications in artificial intelligence,wireless telecommunication, and portable/wearable electronic *** this work, a nacre-inspired multifunctional heterocyclic aramid(HA)/mXene@polypyrrole (PPy) (HmP) nanocomposite paper withlarge-scale, high strength, super toughness, and excellent tolerance tocomplex conditions is fabricated through the strategy of HA/mXenehydrogel template-assisted in-situ assembly of PPy. Benefiting from the"brick-and-mortar" layered structure and the strong hydrogen-bondinginteractions among mXene, HA, and PPy, the paper exhibits remarkable mechanical performances, including high tensile strength (309.7 mPa),outstanding toughness (57.6 mJ m−3), exceptional foldability, and structural stability against ultrasonication. By using the template effect ofHA/mXene to guide the assembly of conductive polymers, the synthesized paper obtains excellent electronic conductivity. more importantly,the highly continuous conductive path enables the nanocomposite paper to achieve a splendid EmI shielding effectiveness (EmI SE) of 54.1 dBat an ultra-thin thickness (25.4 μm) and a high specific EmI SE of 17,204.7 dB cm2g−1. In addition, the papers also have excellent applicationsin electromagnetic protection, electro-/photothermal de-icing, thermal therapy, and fire safety. These findings broaden the ideas for developinghigh-performance and multifunctional mXene-based films with enormous application potential in EmI shielding and thermal management.

Conversion of CO2back to hydrocarbons is the most direct way of closing the“carbon cycle”,and its significance is further enlarged if this process is driven by renewable energies such as ***,precisely controlling the product selectivity towards hydrocarbons against the competitive hydrogen evolution remains challenging,especially for Cu-based ***,we report a novel defect engineering strategy,by which Cu-doping-induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2nanorods were effectively created,with adjustable vacancy/Cu *** resulting optimum catalyst shows up to 79% catalytic current density to hydrocarbons （excluding CO）,with 49% faradaic efficiency to *** and density functional theory unveil that the ratio between oxygen vacancy and Cu affects significantly the formation of*CHO and activation of H2O,which leads to the following deep hydrogenation to *** findings may spur new insights for designing and developing more controllable chemical process relevant to CO2utilization.

metal-organic frameworks （mOFs）,that have emerged as promising electrocatalysts in oxygen evolution reaction （OER）,usually undergo structural reconstruction to form metal hydroxides as active ***,it remains a great challenge to design and synthesize ideal mOF-based pre-catalysts for properly cognizing and utilizing the reconstruction process toward efficient OER ***,the well-defined mOF-808 is post-modified by 2-hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid （HPAA） to form a micro-adsorber that enables to capture of metal ions ***3+and Ni2+ions are synergistically anchored into the microadsorber,developing a Fe/Ni-containing pre-catalyst that can be dynamically electrooxidized to be an active and stable dual-site electrocatalyst denoted by R-mOF-HPAA@FeNi with abundant metal *** a result,R-mOF-HPAA@FeNi exhibits an excellent OER performance with a low overpotential of 272 mV and Tafel slope of 35.9 m V dec-1,as well as long-term stability over 300 h at 10 m A *** and theoretical calculations suggest the resulting catalyst mainly follows a lattice oxygen mechanism （LOm） of dual-metal-site mechanism （DmSm）.Owing to the chelating role of HPAA,the post-synthesized mOF-HPAA behaves as a trap to uniformly and firmly adhere Fe3+and Ni2+ions,leading to a functionalized mOF-based pre-catalyst which can be structurally evolved into atomic level-distributed OER electrocatalysts.

As a classical technique for chaos suppression,the time-delayed feedback controlling strategy has been widely developed by stabilizing unstable periodic orbits(UPOs)embedded in chaotic systems.A critical issue for achieving high controlling precision is to search for an appropriate time *** paper proposes a simple yet effective approach,based on incremental harmonic balance method,to determine the optimal time delay in the delayed feedback *** time delay is adjusted within the iterative scheme provided by the proposed method,and finally converges to the period of the target *** long as the optimal time delay is fixed,moreover,the attained solution makes it quite convenient to analyze its stability according to the Floquet theory,which further provides the effective interval of the feedback gain.

Preparation of Co/S co-doped carbon catalysts for excellent methylene blue degradation

S and Co co-doped carbon catalysts were prepared via pyrolysis of mOF-71 and thiourea mixtures at 800℃at a mass ratio of mOF-71 to thiourea of 1:0.1 to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate(PmS)for methylene blue(mB)*** effects of two different mixing routes were identified on the mB degradation ***,the catalyst obtained by the alcohol solvent evaporation(mOF-AEP)mixing route could degrade 95.60%mB(50 mg/L)within 4 min(degradation rate:K=0.78 min^(-1)),which was faster than that derived from the direct grinding method(mOF-DGP,80.97%,K=0.39 min^(-1)).X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that the Co-S content of mOF-AEP(43.39at%)was less than that of mOF-DGP(54.73at%),and the proportion of C-S-C in mOF-AEP(13.56at%)was higher than that of mOF-DGP(10.67at%).Density functional theory calculations revealed that the adsorption energy of Co for PmS was -2.94 eV when sulfur was doped as C-S-C on the carbon skeleton,which was higher than that when sulfur was doped next to cobalt in the form of Co-S bond(-2.86 eV).Thus,the C-S-C sites might provide more contributions to activate PmS compared with ***,the degradation parameters,including pH and mOF-AEP dosage,were ***,radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements revealed that ^(1)O_(2)might be the primary catalytic species,whereas·O~(2-)might be the secondary one in degrading mB.

It has been a central task of solidification research to predict solute microsegregation. Apart from the Lever rule and the Scheil-Gulliver equation, which concern two extreme cases, a long list of microsegregation models has been proposed. However, the use of these models often requires essential experimental input information, e.g., the secondary dendrite arm spacing(λ), cooling rate( ˙T) or actual solidification range(△T). This requirement disables these models for alloy solidification with no measured values for λ,˙T and △T. Furthermore, not all of these required experimental data are easily obtainable. It is therefore highly desirable to have an easy-to-apply predictive model that is independent of experimental input,akin to the Lever rule or Scheil-Gulliver model. Gong, Chen, and co-workers have recently proposed such a model, referred to as the Gong-Chen model, by averaging the solid fractions(f_(s)) of the Lever rule and Scheil-Gulliver model as the actual solid fraction. We provide a systematic assessment of this model versus established solidification microsegregation models and address a latent deficiency of the model, i.e.,it allows the Lever rule solid fraction fsto be greater than one(f_(s)> 1). It is shown that the Gong-Chen model can serve as a generic model for alloy solidification until fsreaches about 0.9, beyond which(f_(s)> 0.9) its applicability is dictated by both the equilibrium solute partition coefcient(k) and the solute diffusion coefcient in the solid(Ds), which has been tabulated in detail.
