Bismuth-promoted （1% and 3%） vanadyl pyrophosphate catalysts were prepared by refluxing Bi（NO3）4.5H2O and VOPO4.2H2O in isobutanol. The incorporation of Bi into the catalysts lattice increased the surface area and lowered the overall V oxidation state. Profiles of temperature programmed reduction （TPR） in H2 show a significant shift of the maxima of major reduction peaks to lower temperatures for the Bi-promoted catalysts. A new peak was also observed at the low temperature region for the catalyst with 3% of Bi dopant. The addition of Bi also increased the total amount of oxygen removed from the catalysts. The reduction pattern and reactivity information provide fundamental insight into the catalytic properties of the catalysts. Bi-promoted catalysts were found to be highly active （71% and 81% conversion for 1% and 3% Bi promoted catalysts, respectively, at 703 K）, as compared to the unpromoted material （47% conversion）. The higher activity of the Bi-promoted catalysts is due to that these catalysts possess highly active and labile lattice oxygen. The better catalytic performance can also be attributed to the larger surface area.

Three Bi-doped vanadyl pyrophosphate catalysts were prepared via dihydrate route （VPD method）, which consisted of different preparation methods including mechanosynthesis, mechanochemical treatment, and the conventional reflux method. The catalysts produced by the above three methods were characterized by x-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, and temperature programmed reduction （TPR）. Catalytic evaluation for the partial oxidation of n-butane to maleic anhydride （MA） was also carried out. The XRD patterns of all the Bi-doped catalysts showed the main peaks of pyrophosphate phase. Lower intensity peaks were observed for the mechanochemically treated Bi-doped catalyst （VPDBiMill） with two additional small peaks corresponding to the presence of a small amount of V5＋ phase. The TPR profiles showed that the highest amount of active oxygen species, i.e, V4＋–O- pair, responsible for n-butane activation, was removed from VPDBiMill. Furthermore, from the catalytic test results, the graph of selectivity to MA as a function of the conversion of n-butane demonstrated that VPDBiMill was the most selective catalyst. This suggests that the mechanochemical treatment of vanadium phosphate catalyst （VPDBiMill） is a potential method to improve the catalytic properties for the partial oxidation of n-butane to maleic anhydride.

In microwave tomography, it is necessary to increase the amount of diverse observation data for accurate image reconstruction of the dielectric properties of the imaging area. The multi-polarization method has been proposed as a suitable technique for the acquisition of a variety of observation data. While the effectiveness of employing multi-polarization to reconstruct images has been confirmed, the physical considerations related to image reconstruction have not been investigated. In this paper, a compact-sized imaging sensor using multi-polarization for breast cancer detection is presented. An analysis of the correlation coefficient of the received data of adjacent antennas was performed to interpret the imaging results. Numerical simulation results demonstrated that multi-polarization can reconstruct images better compared to single polarizations owing to its low correlation coefficient and condition number.

Background and Objective: Interleukin-1 (IL-1) binds to 2 distinct and separate receptors, types I and II (IL-1RI and IL-1RII, respectively). The binding of IL-1 to IL-1RI induces cellular signaling and biological effects, whereas binding to IL-1RII does not induce cellular signaling and indirectly inhibits IL-1 biological activities such as that of the decoy receptor. Recently, Suzukiet *** that soluble IL-1RII (sIL-1RII) was detected in gingival crevicular fluid from a periodontitis patient. However, it remains unclear which cells produce sIL-1RII detected in periodontal tissues. We examined the localization of IL-1RII producing cells in gingival tissues as well as related production control mechanisms. Material and Methods: IL-1RII mRNA expression in gingival epithelial cells (GE1) was performed by real-time PCR analysis, while the amount of sIL-1RII production in supernatant from GE1 cells was examined by dot-blot analysis. Involvement of the phosphorylation of STAT6 in the signaling pathway was determined by western blot analysis. Statistical analysis was performed with Student’st-test. Results: Culturing with IL-4 and IL-13 significantly increased IL-1RII mRNA to levels 10.5-and 8.89-fold, respectively, above that of the control (py suppressed IL-1RII mRNA by 0.22-fold as compared to the control (py IL-4 and IL-13, and decreased by IFN-γ, while western blotting determines the suppression of IL-1RII production by IFN-γ. Without the addition of IL-4 or IL-13 with or without IFN-γ, P-Tyr-STAT6 was not detected. Conclusion: IL-1RII mRNA expression and sIL-1RII production were increased by IL-4 and IL-13, and decreased by IFN-γ. Finally, IL-4 signaling was regulated by IFN-γ through phosphorylation of STAT6 and IL-13 signaling blockage by IFN-γ downstream of STAT6 translocation.

根据导模和辐射模连续谱的耦合模方程组,利用改进的耦合模理论分析了谐振情形的波纹波导和激光器。给出了闭合形式的分布反馈系数和辐射损耗系数。所得公式可应用于任意形状的光栅和多层波导结构。通过与Tamir对谐振情形的精确解和Strei-fer对分布反馈结构的精确解比较,检查了这个理论的精度。通过适当选择非微扰波导的参数获得了合理的精度。对于直到四阶的布喇格光栅和四种典型的光栅形状(矩形、正方形、对称三角形和锯齿形的光栅)得到了这两个系数与光栅深度、光栅周期、导波层厚度以及芯和包层的折射率差的依赖关系。对于这些参数也计算了利用高阶布喇格反射的分布反馈激光器的阈值增益和光栅耦合器的输出耦合效率。提出并分析了一种控制辐射损耗的新型多层结构。这种结构既适合于改进光栅束耦合器的输出耦合效率也适于抑制分布布喇格反射镜的辐射损耗。

川崎病晚期的扩张性冠状动脉损害

Objectives: There are two types of late coronary dilated lesions after Kawasaki disease: new aneurysms and expanding aneurysms. The development of coronary dilated lesions late after Kawasaki disease was investigated. Methods: Between 1978 and 2003, 562 patients with coronary arterial lesions underwent selective coronary angiography on at least two occasions. Results: Of the 562 patients studied, 17 new dilated or expanding lesions were found in 15 patients(3%, 11 boys, four girls). The time of detection of new aneurysms after Kawasaki disease ranged from 1.9-19.2 years(median 11.4 years) and their diameters ranged from 2.0-6.5 mm(median 4.4 mm). Thirteen new aneurysms occurred in vessels in which previous aneurysms had regressed and all new aneurysms were associated with localised stenosis. A new aneurysm at the bifurcation or in the branches was seen in 14(93%) and 13 were eccentric(87%). Of two expanding aneurysms, one involved the right coronary artery in one patient and the other the left anterior descending coronary artery. One expanding aneurysm increased from 4.4 mm to 19.5 mm over 17 years, and the other expanding aneurysm increased from 10 mm to 15 mm in one year. Conclusions: Neither new nor expanding aneurysms have caused cardiac events. New aneurysms often develop as a pre-stenotic or post-stenotic dilatation secondary to localised stenosis. New and expanding aneurysms may be caused by haemodynamic factors in addition to the abnormality of the coronary arterial wall after severe acute vasculitis. Coronary arterial wall abnormalities were stenosis as well as, rarely, dilatation of the vessels in the late period. It is important to recognise that the changes of the coronary arterial wall persist late after regression of a large aneurysm.
