Euphorbia tirucalli L.:Review on morphology,medicinal uses,phytochemistry and pharmacological activities

The intention of current review is to make available up-to-date information on morphology, ecological biodiversity, medicinal uses, phytochemistry and pharmacolog-ical activities on different parts of Euphorbia tirucalli (E. tirucalli). This plant has a number of medicinal uses. Latex of E. tirucalli is vesicant and rubefacient which is used for rheumatism, warts, cough, asthma, ear-ache, tooth-ache and neuralgia. It acts as a purgative in small doses while in big doses it is bitter irritant and emetic. Milky juice is alexiteric, carminative and purgative. It is useful in whooping cough, gonorrhea, asthma, leprosy, dropsy, dyspepsia, enlargement of spleen, colic, jaundice and stone in bladder. The fresh milky juice is good alternative in syphilis and a good application in neuralgia. A decoction of branches is used in gastralgia and colic. Bark is used in treatment of fractures. Poultices prepared from the stem are useful to repair the broken bones. Boiled root liquid acts as an emetic in cases of snake-bite and for infertility in women. The wood is used for rafters, toys and veneering purposes. It is also useful against leprosy and foot paralysis subsequent to childbirth. E. tirucalli is reported to have euphol, β-sitosterol, euphorbol hexacosonate, cycloeuphordenol, cyclotirucanenol, tirucalicine, tri-methyl ellagic acid, gallic acids, terpenic alcohol, isoeuphorol, taraxasterol, tirucallol, euphor-one, euphorcinol, euphorbins, 12-deoxy-4β-hydroxyphorbol-13-phenyl acetate-20-acetate, 12, 20-dideoxyphorbol-13-isobutyrate, glut-5-en-3-β-ol, 3,3′-di-O-methylellagic acid, euphorbin-A (polyphenol), tirucallin-A (7) (tannin), tirucallin-B (11), euphorbin-F (14) (dimers), cycloartenol, 24-methylenecycloartenol, ingenol triacetate, 12-deoxy-4β-hydroxyphorbol-13-phenyl acetate-20-acetate, taraxerone, euphorginol, taraxerol, cam-pesterol, stigmasterol, palmitic acid, linoleic acid,β-amyrin, etc. active phytoconstituents. Nitrogen use in double cropping soybean with non-fertilized winter oilseed crops

Sustainable intensification of cropping systems is a strategy to increase productivity and reduce disservices of conventional ***[Camelina sativa(L.)Crantz]and field pennycress(Thlaspi arvense L.)are winter annual oilseed crops well suited to fill the fallow period between corn(Zea mays L.)and soybean[Glycine max(L.)Merr.]in the *** Corn Belt,but their inclusion may be limited by resource use limitations.A 2-year study was conducted from 2015 to 2017 in the *** Midwest to evaluate the effect of double cropping on winter oilseed crops and soybean productivity and economic *** included relay-and sequential-cropped soybean with winter camelina and field pennycress,and monocrop soybean as *** and grain yield of winter oilseed crops were not affected by cropping *** over years and cropping systems,winter camelina resulted in more biomass,nitrogen(N)uptake and grain yield by 240,186 and 139% respectively,compared to field *** biomass,N uptake and yield were higher in relay relative to sequential *** soybean resulted in similar total grain yield(soybean+winter oilseed crop)compared to monocropped *** cropping soybean could maintain net return compared to monocropped *** indicate that double cropping winter oilseed crops with soybean can be economically viable in the *** ***,research aimed at optimizing yield through N and water use while improving ecosystem services is needed.

多路半导体发光二极管(light-emitting-diode,LED)并联会造成导通电流不均衡,而电容均流方案由于其简单可靠得到广泛应用。为输出所需的LED电流,电容均流方案采用变频控制会引入无功环流,提高器件应力,而采用定频占空比控制时,变化的LED负载难以保证零电压开关(zerovoltage switching,ZVS)的实现。针对此问题,文中提出一种基于LCLC谐振网络的恒流源输出LED驱动电路,可有效解耦负载对输出电流的影响,定频控制,且同时实现输入阻抗为纯阻性,避免无功环流。该谐振网络亦结合电容均流方案,采用较少的器件实现多路均流。此外,该电路具有短路自保护功能,易于实现脉宽调制(pulse width modulation,PWM)调光。最后,以4条LED支路为例,搭建实验样机,实验结果证明该电路的有效性。

Modified astrophysical S-factor of 12C+12C fusion reaction at sub-barrier energies

The 12C+12C fusion reaction plays a crucial role in stellar evolution and *** main open reaction channels includeα,p,n,and *** more than a half century of efforts,large differences remain among the experimental data of this reaction measured using various *** this work,we analyze the existing data using a statistical *** calculation shows the following:1)the relative systematic uncertainties of the predicted branching ratios decrease as the predicted ratios increase;2)the total modified astrophysical S-factors(S^* factors)of the p andαchannels can be obtained by summing the S^* factors of their corresponding ground-state transitions and the characteristicγrays,while taking into account the contributions of the missing channels to the *** applying corrections based on branching ratios predicted by the statistical model,an agreement is achieved among the different data sets at Ecm>4 MeV,while some discrepancies remain at lower energies,suggesting the need for better measurements in the near *** find that the S^* factor recently obtained from an indirect measurement is inconsistent with the direct measurement value at energies below 2.6 *** recommend upper and lower limits for the 12C+12C S^* factor based on the existing models.A new 12C+12C reaction rate is also recommended.

Background:We aimed to characterize the protective effects and the molecular mechanisms of action of a Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation product(NTK)in response to a mastitis *** mid-lactation multiparous Holstein cows(n=9/group)were fed the control diet(CON)or CON supplemented with 19 g/d NTK for 45 d(phase 1,P1)and then infected in the right rear quarter with 2500 CFU of Streptococcus uberis(phase 2,P2).After 36-h,mammary gland and liver biopsies were collected and antibiotic treatment started until the end of P2(9 d post challenge).Cows were then followed until day 75(phase 3,P3).Milk yield(My)and dry matter intake(DMI)were recorded *** samples for somatic cell score were collected,and rectal and udder temperature,heart and respiration rate were recorded during the challenge period(P2)together with blood samples for metabolite and immune function *** were analyzed by phase using the PROC MIXED procedure in *** were used for transcriptomic analysis via RNA-sequencing,followed by pathway ***:DMI and My were not affected by diet in P1,but an interaction with time was recorded in P2 indicating a better recovery from the challenge in NTK compared with *** reduced rectal temperature,somatic cell score,and temperature of the infected quarter during the *** data supported these findings,as NTK supplementation upregulated mammary genes related to immune cell antibacterial function(e.g.,CATHL4,NOS2),epithelial tissue protection(***17C),and anti-inflammatory activity(e.g.,ATF3,BAG3,IER3,G-CSF,GRO1,ZFAND2A).Pathway analysis indicated upregulation of tumor necrosis factorα,heat shock protein response,and p21 related pathways in the response to mastitis in NTK *** pathways for detoxification and cytoprotection functions along with the tight junction pathway were also upregulated in NTK-fed ***:Overall,results highlighted molecular networks involved in the protective effect

Shrinkage Properties of Wool and Acrylic/Wool Plain Knitted Fabrics Treated with DC109

This paper examines the effects of shrink - resist treatment, washing cycle and fabric tightness on the shrinkage properties of plain knitted fabrics made from 100% wool, acrylic/wool (50/50) and acrylic/wool (70/30). It was found that shrinkages of both treated and untreated wool fabrics were negatively correlated to fabric tightness and exceeded the IWS shrinkage limits (5% in length and 8 % in area) after 2 - 5A washing cycle. The effect of tightness was not as obvious with acrylic/wool (A/W) fabrics, but the shrinkage was seen to increase with stages of washing cycle for untreated A/W fabrics with some exceeding IWS standard. By applying the DC 109 shrink - resist solvent treatment, it was identified that by with higher percentage of acrylic fibre blended with wool, shrinkage could be reduced considerably and within acceptable limits.

Cell Cycle Arrest Mediates Global DNA Methylation Patterns in Normal Human Keratinocytes, Epidermoid Carcinoma Cells and Murine Embryonic Fibroblasts

The 5-methylationcytosine (5-MC) DNA content of murine embryonic fibroblasts arrested in G1 by four growth conditions (Gc, Gn, Gd, and Gs) were hypermethylated relative to rapidly growing (RG) fibroblasts. Normal human keratinocytes (NHK) arrested in G1 by suspension were hypermethylated relative to RG cultures. Four RG cultures of epidermoid carcinoma cells (ECC) were hypomethylated relative to RG NHK cultures, and two cultures (SCC25 and A431) were further hypomethylated by SUS-induced arrest. Linear regression analyses established a positive linear correlation between growth rate and 5-MC content for three murine fibroblasts lines, and a negative correlation for both NHK and ECC lines.
