Manipulating Na occupation and constructing protective film of P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2) as long-term cycle stability cathode for sodium-ion batteries

P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2)(NNMO)is promising cathode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to its high specific capacity and fast Na+diffusion ***,the irreversible P2-O_(2)phase transformation,Na+/vacancy ordering,and transition metal(TM)dissolution seriously damage its cycling stability and restrict its commercialization ***,Na occupation manipulation and interface stabilization are proposed to strengthen the phase structure of NNMO by synergistic Zn/Ti co-doping and introducing lithium difluorophosp(LiPO_(2)f_(2))film-forming electrolyte *** Zn/Ti co-doping regulates the occupancy ratio of Nae/Nafat Na sites and disorganizes the Na+/vacancy ordering,resulting in a faster Na+diffusion kinetics and reversible P2-Z phase transition for P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.28)Zn_(0.05)Mn_(0.62)Ti_(0.05)O_(2)(NNZMTO).Meanwhile,the LiPO_(2)f_(2)additive can form homogeneous and ultrathin cathode-electrolyte interphase(CEI)on NNZMTO surface,which can stabilize the NNZMTO-electrolyte interface to prevent TM dissolution,surface structure transformation,and micro-crack *** studies of in situ and ex situ characterizations and theoretical calculations were used to elucidate the storage mechanism of NNZMTO with Li PO_(2)f_(2)*** a result,the NNZMTO displays outstanding capacity retention of 94.44%after 500 cycles at 1C with 0.3 wt%Li PO_(2)f_(2),excellent rate performance of 92.5 mA h g^(-1)at 8C with 0.1 wt%Li PO_(2)f_(2),and remarkable full cell *** work highlights the important role of manipulating Na occupation and constructing protective film in the design of layered materials,which provides a promising direction for developing high-performance cathodes for SIBs.

Long-term thinning decreases the contribution of heterotrophic respiration to soil respiration in subalpine plantations

Interest in the dynamics of soil respiration(R_(S))in subalpine forest ecosystems is increasing due to their high soil carbon density and potential sensitivity to environmental ***,as a principal silvicultural practice,the long-term impacts of thinning on R_(S) and its heterotrophic and autotrophic respiration components(R_(h) and Ra,respectively)in subalpine plantations are poorly understood,espe-cially in winter.A 3-year field observation was carried out with consideration of winter CO_(2) efflux in middle-aged sub-alpine spruce plantations in northwestern China.A trench-ing method was used to explore the long-term impacts of thinning on Rs,Rn and R_(a).Seventeen years after thinning,mean annual Rs,Rn and R_(a) increased,while the contribu-tion of R_(h) to R_(s) decreased with thinning *** significantly decreased winter R,because of the reduction in R_(n) but had no significant effect on *** temperature sensitivity(Q_(10))of R_(h) and R_(a) also increased with thinning intensity,with lower Q_(10) values for R_(h)(2.1-2.6)than for Ra(2.4-2.8).The results revealed the explanatory variables and pathways related to R_(n) and R_(a) *** increased soil moisture and nitrate nitrogen(NO_(3)^(-)-N),and the enhanced nitrogen and water availability promoted R_(h) and R_(a) by improving fine root biomass and microbial *** results highlight the positive roles of NO_(3)^(-)-N in stimulating R_(s) components following long-term ***,applications of nitrogen fertilizer are not recommended while thinning subalpine spruce plantations from the perspective of reducing soil CO_(2) *** increased Q_(10) values of R_(s) components indicate that a large increase in soil CO_(2) emissions would be expected following thinning because of more pronounced climate warming in alpineregions.

Cows mounting behavior is a significant manifestation of estrus in *** timely detection of cows mounting behavior can make cows conceive in time,thereby improving milk production of cows and economic benefits of the *** methods of mounting behavior detection are difficult to achieve precise detection under occlusion and severe scale change environments and meet real-time ***,this study proposed a Cow-yOLO model to detect cows mounting *** meet the needs of real-time performance,yOLOv5s model is used as the baseline *** order to solve the problem of difficult detection of cows mounting behavior in an occluded environment,the CSPDarknet53 of yOLOv5s is replaced with Non-local CSPDarknet53,which enables the network to obtain global information and improves the model’s ability to detect the mounting ***,the neck of yOLOv5s is redesigned to Multiscale Neck,reinforcing the multi-scale feature fusion capability of model to solve difficulty detection under dramatic scale ***,to further increase the detection accuracy,the Coordinate Attention Head is integrated into ***,these improvements form a novel cow mounting detection model called Cow-yOLO and make Cow-yOLO more suitable for cows mounting behavior detection in occluded and drastic scale changes ***-yOLO achieved a precision of 99.7%,a recall of 99.5%,a mean average precision of 99.5%,and a detection speed of 156.3 f/s on the test *** with existing detection methods of cows mounting behavior,Cow-yOLO achieved higher detection accuracy and faster detection speed in an occluded and drastic scale-change ***-yOLO can assist ranch breeders in achieving real-time monitoring of cows estrus,enhancing ranch economic efficiency.

Rational design of unrestricted pRN1 derivatives and their application in the construction of a dual plasmid vector system for Saccharolobus islandicus

Saccharolobus islandicus REy15A represents one of the very few archaeal models with versatile genetic tools,which include efficient genome editing,gene silencing,and robust protein expression ***,plasmid vectors constructed for this crenarchaeon thus far are based solely on the pRN2 cryptic *** this plasmid coexists with pRN1 in its original host,early attempts to test pRN1-based vectors consistently failed to yield any stable host-vector system for *** hypothesized that this failure could be due to the occurrence of CRISPR immunity against pRN1 in this *** identified a putative target sequence in orf904 encoding a putative replicase on pRN1(target N1).Mutated targets(N1a,N1b,and N1c)were then designed and tested for their capability to escape the host CRISPR immunity by using a plasmid inter-ference *** results revealed that the original target triggered CRISPR immunity in this archaeon,whereas all three mutated targets did not,indicating that all the designed target mutations evaded host *** mutated targets were then incorporated into orf904 individually,yielding corresponding mutated pRN1 backbones with which shuttle plasmids were constructed(pN1aSD,pN1bSD,and pN1cSD).*** transformation revealed that pN1aSD and pN1bSD were functional shuttle vectors,but pN1cSD lost the capability for *** results indicate that the missense mutations in the conserved helicase domain in pN1c inactivated the *** further showed that pRN1-based and pRN2-based vectors were stably maintained in the archaeal cells either alone or in combination,and this yielded a dual plasmid system for genetic study with this important archaeal model.

Isolation and microbial transformation of tea sapogenin from seed pomace of Camellia oleifera with anti-inflammatory effects

In the current study,tea saponin,identified as the primary bioactive constituent in seed pomace of Camellia oleifera Abel.,was meticulously extracted and hydrolyzed to yield five known sapogenins:16-O-tiglogycamelliagnin B(a),camelliagnin A(b),16-O-angeloybarringtogenol C(c),theasapogenol E(d),theasapogenol f(e).Subsequent biotransformation of compound a facilitated the isolation of six novel metabolites(a1−a6).The anti-inflammatory potential of these compounds was assessed using pathogenassociated molecular patterns(PAMPs)and damage-associated molecular patterns molecules(DAMPs)-mediated cellular inflammation ***,compounds b and a2 demonstrated significant inhibitory effects on both lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and high-mobility group box 1(HMGB1)-induced inflammation,surpassing the efficacy of the standard anti-inflammatory agent,***,compounds d,a3,and a6 selectivity targeted endogenous HMGB1-induced inflammation,showcasing a pronounced *** results underscore the therapeutic promise of *** seed pomace-derived compounds as potent agents for the management of inflammatory diseases triggered by infections and tissue damage.

Artificial vision is crucial for most artificial intelligence *** artificial visual systems have been facing challenges in terms of real-time information processing due to the physical separation of sensors,memories,and processors,which results in the production of a large amount of redundant data as well as the data conversion and transfer between these three components consuming most of the time and *** optoelectronic memristors with the ability to realize integrated sensing-computing-memory(ISCM)are key candidates for solving such challenges and therefore attract increasing *** present,the memristive ISCM devices can only perform primary-level computing with external light signals due to the fact that only monotonic increase of memconductance upon light irradiation is achieved in most of these ***,we propose an all-optically controlled memristive ISCM device based on a simple structure of Au/ZnO/Pt with the ZnO thin film sputtered at pure Ar *** device can perform advanced computing tasks such as nonvolatile neuromorphic computing and complete Boolean logic functions only by light irradiation,owing to its ability to reversibly tune the memconductance with ***,the device shows excellent operation stability ascribed to a purely electronic memconductance tuning ***,this study is an important step towards the next generation of artificial visual systems.

Grain boundary engineering for enhancing intergranular damage resistance of ferritic/martensitic steel P92

ferritic/martensitic(f/M)steel is widely used as a structural material in thermal and nuclear power ***,it is susceptible to intergranular damage,which is a critical issue,under service *** this study,to improve the resistance to intergranular damage of f/M steel,a thermomechanical process(TMP)was employed to achieve a grain boundary engineering(GBE)microstructure in f/M steel *** TMP,including cold-rolling thickness reduction of 6%,9%,and 12%,followed by austenitization at 1323 K for 40 min and tempering at 1053 K for 45 min,was applied to the as-received(AR)P92 *** prior austenite grain(PAG)size,prior austenite grain boundary character distribution(GBCD),and connectivity of prior austenite grain boundaries(PAGBs)were *** to the AR specimen,the PAG size did not change *** fraction of coincident site lattice boundaries(CSLBs,3≤Σ≤29)and Σ3^(n) boundaries along PAGBs decreased with increasing reduction ratio because the recrystallization fraction increased with increasing reduction *** PAGB connectivity of the 6%deformed specimen slightly deteriorated compared with that of the AR ***,potentiodynamic polarization studies revealed that the intergranular damage resistance of the studied steel could be improved by increasing the fraction of CSLBs along the PAGBs,indicating that the TMP,which involves low deformation,could enhance the intergranular damage resistance.

Broadband electroluminescence based on environment-friendly emitters is promising for healthy lighting yet remains an unprecedented challenge to *** copper halide-based emitters are competitive candidates for broadband emission,but their high-performance electroluminescence shows inadequate broad emission bandwidth of less than 90 ***,we demonstrate efficient ultra-broadband electroluminescence from a copper halide(CuI)nanocluster single emitter prepared by a one-step solution synthesis-deposition process,through dedicated design of ligands and subtle selection of *** CuI nanocluster exhibits high rigidity in the excitation state as well as dual-emissive modes of phosphorescence and temperature-activated delayed fluorescence,enabling the uniform cluster-composed film to show excellent stability and high photoluminescent *** consequence,ultra-broadband light-emitting diodes(LEDs)present nearly identical performance in an inert or air atmosphere without encapsulation and outstanding high-temperature operation performance,reaching an emission full width at half maximum(fWHM)of~120 nm,a peak external quantum efficiency of 13%,a record maximum luminance of~50,000 cd m^(−2),and an operating half-lifetime of 137 h at 100 cd m^(−2).The results highlight the potential of copper halide nanoclusters for next-generation healthy lighting.

Using e^(+)e^(−)annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^(−1)taken at the center-of-mass energy√s=3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector,a joint amplitude analysis is performed on the decays D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η).The fit fractions of individual components are obtained,and large interferences among the dominant components of the decays D^(0)→a_(1)(1260)π,D^(0)→π(1300)π,D^(0)→ρ(770)ρ(770),and D^(0)→2(ππ)_(S)are observed in both *** the obtained amplitude model,the CP-even fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are determined to be(75.2±1.1_(stat).±1.5_(syst.))%and(68.9±1.5_(stat).±2.4_(syst.))%,*** branching fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are measured to be(0.688±0.010_(stat.)±0.010_(syst.))%and(0.951±0.025_(stat.)±0.021_(syst.))%,*** amplitude analysis provides an important model for the binning strategy in measuring the strong phase parameters of D^(0)→4πwhen used to determine the CKM angleγ(ϕ_(3))via the B^(−)→DK^(−)decay.
