In this paper we consider the most general form of non-static cylindrically symmetric space-times in order to study proper teleparallel homothetic vector fields using the direct integration technique and diagonal tetrads. This study also covers static cylindrically symmetric, Bianchi type I, non-static and static plane symmetric space-times as well. Here, we will only discuss the cases which do not fall in the category of static cylindrically symmetric, Bianchi type I, non-static and static plane symmetric space-times. From the above study we show that very special classes of the above space-times yield 6, 7 and 8 teleparallel homothetic vector fields with non-zero torsion.

An Integrative Meta-analysis of MicroRNAs in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

We aimed to shed new light on the roles of microRNAs （miRNAs） in liver cancer using an integrative in silico bioinformatics analysis. A new protocol for target prediction and functional analysis is presented and applied to the 26 highly differentially deregulated miRNAs in hepatocellular carcinoma. This framework comprises：（1） the overlap of prediction results by four out of five target prediction tools, including TargetScan, PicTar, miRanda, DIANA-microT and miRDB （combining machine-learning, alignment, interaction energy and statistical tests in order to minimize false positives）, （2） evidence from previous microarray analysis on the expression of these targets, （3） gene ontology （GO） and pathway enrichment analysis of the miRNA targets and their pathways and （4） linking these results to oncogenesis and cancer hallmarks. This yielded new insights into the roles of miRNAs in cancer hallmarks. Here we presented several key targets and hundreds of new targets that are significantly enriched in many new cancer-related hallmarks. In addition, we also revealed some known and new oncogenic pathways for liver cancer. These included the famous MAPK, TGFβ and cell cycle pathways. New insights were also provided into Wnt signaling, prostate cancer, axon guidance and oocyte meiosis pathways. These signaling and developmental pathways crosstalk to regulate stem cell transformation and implicate a role of miRNAs in hepatic stem cell deregulation and cancer development. By analyzing their complete interactome, we proposed new categorization for some of these miRNAs as either tumor-suppressors or oncomiRs with dual roles. Therefore some of these miRNAs may be addressed as therapeutic targets or used as therapeutic agents. Such dual roles thus expand the view of miRNAs as active maintainers of cellular homeostasis.

In estimation theory,the researchers have put their efforts to develop some estimators of population mean which may give more precise results when adopting ordinary least squares(OLS)method or robust regression techniques for estimating regression *** when the correlation is negative and the outliers are presented,the results can be distorted and the OLS-type estimators may give misleading estimates or highly biased ***,this paper mainly focuses on such issues through the use of non-conventional measures of dispersion and a robust estimation ***,we have proposed generalized estimators by using the ancillary information of non-conventional measures of dispersion(Gini’s mean difference,Downton’s method and probabilityweighted moment)using ordinary least squares and then finally adopting the Huber M-estimation technique on the suggested *** proposed estimators are investigated in the presence of outliers in both situations of negative and positive correlation between study and auxiliary *** comparisons and real data application are provided to show the strength of the proposed generalized *** is found that the proposed generalized Huber-M-type estimators are more efficient than the suggested generalized estimators under the OLS estimation method considered in this *** new proposed estimators will be useful in the future for data analysis and making decisions.

Background:Type 2 diabetes(T2D)is a polygenic metabolic disease,character-ized by high fasting blood glucose(FBG).The ability of cranberry(CRN)fruit to regulate glycemia in T2D patients is well ***,a cohort of 13 lines of the genetically diverse Collaborative Cross(CC)mouse model was assessed for the effect of non-dialyzable material(NDM)of cranberry extract in lowering fasting blood ***:Eight-week-old mice were maintained on either a standard chow diet(con-trol group)or a high-fat diet(HFD)for 12 weeks,followed by injections of intraperi-toneal(IP)NDM(50 mg/kg)per mouse,three times a week for the next 6 *** FBG(mg/dl)was measured bi-weekly and percentage changes in FBG(%FBG)between weeks 0 and 12 were ***:Statistical analysis showed a significant decrease in FBG between weeks 0 and 12 in male and female mice maintained on ***,a non-significant in-crease in FBG values was observed in male and female mice maintained on HFD dur-ing the same *** administration of NDM during the following 6 weeks,the results show a variation in significant levels of FBG lowering between lines,male and female mice and under the different ***:The results suggest that the efficacy of NDM treatment in lowering FGB depends on host genetic background(pharmacogenetics),sex of the mouse(phar-macosex),and diet(pharmacodiet).All these results support the need for follow-up research to better understand and implement a personalized medicine approach/uti-lization of NDM for reducing FBG.

Objective:To evaluate the prevalence of intestinal parasites among patients in Hail,Northwestern Saudi ***:Stool samples were collected from 130 patients(69females and 61 males) in Hail General *** sample was examined by direct wet mount microscopic examination using both normal saline and Lugol's iodine preparation and concentration techniques using salt and formol-ether *** stained smears were performed for intestinal coccidian using modified Ziehl-Neelsen ***:The overall prevalence of intestinal parasitic infection was 45.38%(59 cases).Forty-four(33.84%)were found to be infected with one or more intestinal protozoa.5(3.84%) were infected with helminthes and 10(7.69%) had mixed infection with both helminthes and *** most common intestinal helminth detected was Ancyloxtoma duvdenale(n=5.3.84%),followed by Ascaris *** *** Trichuris trichiura(n=2 for each species,1.5%).For intestinal protozoa,the coccidian Cryptosporidium parvum(n=25,19.23%) was the most common followed by Entamoeba histolytica/dispur(n=21,16.15%),Giurdia lamblia(n=15,11.54%),Entamoeba coli(n=5.3.85%) and Blastocysts hominis(n=3,2.30%).The prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections in females was significantly higher than in males(Py highlighting that intestinal parasites are still an important public health problem in Northwestern Saudi Arabia Therefore,health education would be the best way to prevent from intestinal parasite infections which are mainly food borne diseases.

The present study investigated 15 dead cases of captive wild goslings(Anser anser),which were bred in a small poultry farm in Shandong Province,*** examined cases presented diverse clinical signs accompanied with neurological manifestations and fatal *** culture identified the gram-negative Neisseria *** the brain homogenate of most examined cases(10/15,66.7%).The isolated bacteria were identified based on morphologic characteristics,biochemical tests and 16S rDNA *** proved that 1 identical bacterial strain(BNO09-3)was isolated from the positive *** phylogeny based on the 16S rDNA gene sequences indicated that this isolate has a close relationship with various strains of genus Neisseria *** from liver and feces of *** is the first report of Neisseria *** fatality in captive wild geese in China.

The tidal power has the potential to play a vital role in a sustainable energy *** main objective of this paper is to investigate the performance and fatigue life of tidal current turbine(TCT)using fluid structure interaction(FSI)*** performance of TCT was predicted using Ansys *** performance curve,pressure distribution on the blade,and velocity streamline were visualized for eight repetitive analyses at different tip speed *** hydrodynamic load calculated from CFD analysis was transferred to FEA model for investigation of the structural response of *** analysis was performed to examine the mode shapes and natural frequencies of *** fatigue analysis were performed and number of cycles and safety factor at different equivalent alternating stresses were *** results of the simulation confirm that the turbine has a maximum value of the coefficient of performance atλ=5,the turbine operating frequency is not close to its natural frequency,and it is safe under the applied fatigue loads with a high factor of safety.
