This paper exam.nes the transport analy.is, including both heat transfer and m.ss transfer, in hy.rid nanofluid flow containing gy.otactic m.croorganism. towards a curved oscillatory.surface. The influence of m.gnetic fields is also inspected in term. of their phy.ical characteristics. To depict the phenom.na of transport, m.dified versions of both Fick's and Fourier's laws are used. Additionally. the characteristics of both heterogeneous and hom.geneous chem.cal reactions are also incorporated. Utilizing a curvilinear coordinate sy.tem. the flow problem.is form.lated as partial differential equations(PDEs)for m.m.ntum. concentration, m.croorganism.field, and energy. An analy.ical solution to the obtained flow equations is achieved utilizing the hom.topy.analy.is m.thod(HAm..The effects of significant flow param.ters on the pressure and m.croorganism.fields, velocity. oscillation velocity. concentration, and tem.erature distributions are shown via graphs. Furtherm.re, the variations in skin friction, m.ss transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and local m.tile num.er due to different involved param.ters are presented in tables and are analy.ed in detail. Graphical results indicate that the curves of velocity.and tem.erature fields are enhanced as the values of the solid volum. fraction variables *** is also verified that the concentration rate field decreases as the values of the hom.geneous reaction strength param.ter and the radius of curvature param.ter increase, and it increases with the Schm.dt num.er and the heterogeneous reaction strength *** outcom.s show a favorable response of the m.tile num.er to advanced values of the Peclet num.er, the Schm.dt num.er, the m.croorganism.difference param.ter, and the bio-convective Lewis num.er.

Param.ter Optim.sation of Stress-strain Constitutive Equations Using Genetic Algorithm.

The accuracy.of num.rical sim.lations and m.ny.other m.terial design calculations, such as the rolling force, rollingtorque, etc., depends on the description of stress-strain relationship of the deform.d m.terials. One com.on m.thodof describing the stress-strain relationship is using constitutive equations, with the unknown param.ters fitted by.xperim.ntal data obtained via plane strain com.ression (PSC). Due to the highly.nonlinear behaviour of the constitutive equations and the noise included in the PSC data, determ.nation of the m.del param.ters is difficult. Inthis paper, genetic algorithm. were exploited to optim.se param.ters for the constitutive equations based on thePSC data. The original PSC data were processed to generate the stress-strain data, and data pre-processing wascarried out to rem.ve the noise contained in the original PSC data. Several genetic optim.sation schem.s have beeninvestigated, with different coding schem.s and different genetic operators for selection, crossover and *** was found that the real value coded genetic algorithm. converged m.ch faster and were m.re efficient for theparam.ter optim.sation problem.

Interfacial stress transfer behavior in a specially.shaped fiber/m.trix pullout test

Specially.designed fibers are widely.used in engineering practice because the specially.designed shape can help to im.rove the bonding strength of the fiber and the interface. Studied in this paper is the interfacial shear stress transfer behavior on both sides of the specially.designed fiber when it is being pulled out; in which autom.tic analy.is of three-dim.nsional photoelasticity.is em.loy.d and the finite elem.nt m.thod is adopted. The results show that the stress transfer occurs m.inly.in the region near the fiber＇s em.edded end where the stress reaches its critical point, leading to debonding of the interface. Before debonding, as the pullout loading increases, the peak value of shear stress transfers along the fiber from.the em.edded end to the interior of the m.trix, and then stops at the hooked part of the fiber because of its im.edim.nt. When the interface begins to debond as the load increases, the shear stress can be transferred to the hooked part.

Gradient Structured Copper by.Rotationally.Accelerated Shot Peening

A new technology.rotationally.accelerated shot peening（RASP）, was developed to prepare gradient structured m.terials. By.using centrifugal acceleration principle and large steel balls, the RASP technology.can produce m.ch higher im.act energy.com.ared to conventional shot peening. As a proof-of-concept dem.nstration, the RASP was utilized to refine the surface lay.r in pure copper（Cu） with an average grain size of 85 nm. The grain size increases largely.from.surface downwards the bulk, form.ng an800 ？m.thick gradient-structured surface lay.r and consequently.a m.cro-hardness gradient. The difference between the RASP technology.and other established techniques in preparing gradient structured m.terials is discussed. The RASP technology.exhibits a prom.ting future for large-scale m.nufacturing of gradient m.terials.

Purification of L-asparaginase II by.cry.tallization

Here a case study.ofL-asparaginase II out of a recom.inant Escherichia coli is presented. The target protein was obtained by.sim.le cell disintegration and acetone precipitation. The L-asparaginase II has been cry.tallized in three different form. in the following m.crobatch cry.tallization. The rod-shaped cry.tals （-400 μm.edge length） were obtained at either 8℃ or 22℃ after 17h by.addition of PEG6ooo. The rectangular-shaped cry.tals were obtained after further recry.tallization of the rod-shaped cry.tals. The rhom.ic-shaped cry.tals form.d at 8℃ after 12 day. when cold ethanol was used instead of PEG6000. All cry.tallizations were perform.d in tris-acetate buffer （50m.ol-L-1, pH 5.1）. By.cry.tallization, the specific activity.of L-asparaginase II has increased 5-fold. The protein content and the purity.of the cry.tals were evaluated by.sodium.dodecy. sulfate poly.cry.am.de gel electrophoresis （SDS-PAGE）. The m.re concentrated L- asparaginase II out of an extract m.xture and the presence of only.less m.nor proteins after cry.tallization dem.nstrates that cry.tallization is an effective and m.ld m.thod to purify.the target protein. The single cry.tal X-ray.diffraction pattern reveals that the cry.tals are proteins and the X-ray.powder diffraction （XRPD） pattern shows clearly.that the cry.tals form.ng in PEG600o and ethanol have different cry.tal structures.

Ti：PbC was sy.thesized for the first tim. by.pressureless reaction sy.thesis using Ti/Pb/TiC as starting m.terials at a heating rate of 2 ℃/rain and holding at 1370 ℃ for 2 h in a tube furnace protected by.Ar atm.sphere. The effects of starting powders, heating rates, and holding tem.eratures on the form.tion of Ti2PbC were investigated. It was found that elem.ntary.m.xture of Ti/Pb/C or higher heating rates fail to form.Ti2PbC. The decreased lattice param.ters in the sy.thesized Ti2PbC indicated the existence of Pb vacancies in the com.ound. A reaction m.chanism.was proposed to explain the form.tion of Ti2PbC.

Runaway.Electron Suppression by.ECRH and Rm. in KSTAR

We have observed reduction of the runaway.electron sy.chrotron radiation, hard X-ray.（HXR） intensity. and HXR energy.after apply.ng 110 GHz 2nd harm.nic electron cy.lotron resonant heating （ECRH） during runaway.electron （RE） discharges at low density.with startup runaway.electrons. However, we did not see a significant reduction of X-ray. from.170 GHz 2nd harm.nic ECRH at a higher field. A recently.installed IR TV cam.ra was used to observe the forward cone of sy.chrotron radiation from.high energy.REs in KSTAR. We have observed changes to the sy.chrotron im.ges and reduction of the HXR by.application of resonant m.gnetic perturbations （Rm.） from.in-vessel control coils （IVCC） installed inside KSTAR in the n----1 configuration.

We report experim.ntal realization of a quantum.version of m.xwell＇s dem.n using solid state spins where the inform.tion acquiring and feedback operations by.the dem.n are achieved through conditional quantum.gates.A unique feature of this im.lem.ntation is that the dem.n can start in a quantum.superposition state or in an entangled state with an ancilla observer. Through quantum.state tom.graphy. we m.asure the entropy.in the sy.tem. dem.n, and the ancilla, showing the influence of coherence and entanglem.nt on the result. A quantum.im.lem.ntation of m.xwell＇s dem.n adds m.re controllability.to this paradoxical therm.l m.chine and m.y.find applications in quantum.therm.dy.am.cs involving m.croscopic sy.tem..

The Effect of Non-Contact Conditions in a Splinted Fixed Partial Denture on the Load Sharing m.chanism. A Finite Elem.nt Study

A com.uter-aided design m.del for a fixed partial denture was constructed and used in a finite elem.nt analy.is to study.the overall load sharing m.chanism.between the fixed partial denture and oral structures while the denture base rested on the al- veolar ridge. To investigate the consequences of non-contact conditions, three additional m.dels were generated incorporating a uniform.clearance of 0.125 m., 0.25 m., and 0.5 m., respectively. A 100 N static load located at the free end of the prosthesis was applied while the distal portion of the jaw was set fixed. The results show that whilst releasing the ridge alm.st entirely. the presence of the clearance drastically.increased the load on the splinting teeth. A pull-out force on the canine tooth of about 44 N was com.uted, accom.anied by.a m.sio-distal m.m.nt of about 500 ***. The com.ination of which was sim.lar to the tooth extraction m.neuver perform.d by.the dentist. In contrast, the second prem.lar was found to bear a push-in force of alm.st 115 N. The first m.lar, though barely.solicited in the contact condition, becam. substantially.loaded in non-contact conditions, which validates the choice of sacrificing three teeth to support the denture.
