Okra is a plant rich in nutrients and is very.well consumed in Côte d’Ivoire. Despite its many.benefits, the production of this vegetable is still weak in our country. The reasons for this include the inadequate selection of varieties, the high cost of inputs and the poverty.of the soil for its cultivation. One of the alternatives for sustained production is to solve the problem of soil fertility. In the case of our work, the aim is to improve the y.eld of okra. To achieve this goal, experiments were undertaken to evaluate the impact of activated charcoal on morphological parameters of a local okra variety. For this purpose, the charcoal used was activated in three different times (activation time equal to 0 day., 15 day. and 30 day.). The experimental device used is a split-plot with three repetitions, each comprising 12 elementary.plots. The various charcoals were buried the same day. Then, the seedling was done with two positions including outside position and inside position. Observations were made on 360 plants. An analy.is of the variances was carried out on the morphological parameters. Fruit mass is the variable most influenced by.activated charcoal. Thus, the greatest value of the mass was obtained with the charcoal CA0, with outside position.

This study.evaluates the performance of shale from Ivory.Coast used as substrate in vertical-flow constructed wetlands in removal of phosphates and nitrogen. The pilot-scale artificial wetland has been duplicated: filter planted with Panicum maximun and unplanted. They.were set up outdoors, and fed with a municipal wastewater. The wetlands have been fed with three batches per week (intermittent) over a period of 3 months. During the operation period, the hy.raulic residence time (hRT) 52 h was used, while wastewater temperatures varied from about ~33°C. The removal performance of the constructed wetland units was very.good, since it reached on an average 98%, 89.4%, 89.4%, 84%, 80%, 84.8% and 92% for TSS, DOC, BOD5, , TKN, TP and respectively. In addition, the vegetation did not demonstrate superior performance to unplanted controls. Therefore, this study.focuses on the role of shale in the phosphorus and nitrogen removal from wastewater by.constructed wetland.

Purpose: To evaluate the serological status of hepatitis B and C and to identify.the risk factors for viral B and C infection in health workers at the university.hospital. Material and Method: Mono-centric cross-sectional study.carried out at Bouaké University.hospital from March 2nd to May.16th, 2016, concerning the health staff of the Bouaké University.hospital. Cross-sectional study.mono-centric concerning the serological status of viral hepatitis B and C from the period from March 2nd to May.16th, 2016 of the health staff of the University.hospital of Bouaké. It has benefited from data from PNLhVi (national program against viral hepatitis) as part of its awareness campaign. The data were analy.ed by.SPSS software version 20.0. Results: Of the 1107 health workers, 632 had been included, representing a participation rate of 57.1%. The average age of the staff was 37.8 y.ars with extremes ranging from 18 to 66 y.ars. The sex ratio (h/F) was 0.8. Accidents with blood exposure were noted in 52.4% of cases. The maximum vaccine coverage was 16.1%. The prevalence of hBsAg was 8.4%. Contact with hBV was present in 3/4 of the staff. Anti hCV Ab was positive in 1.4% of the staff. Males, age over 50 and over 20 y.ars of seniority.were associated with hBV. Also, hBV infection was significantly.higher in boy. and girls (81.7%), nurses (78.3%) and nursing aides (73.8%), (p = 0.022). hCV infection was significantly.correlated with emergency.services. Conclusion: Age, gender, seniority. paramedic qualification, and high risk of exposure to body.fluids were correlated with viral B infection while emergency.department membership was a factor risk of hCV infection.

Aims: 1) Describe virological profile of patients followed-up for chronic hepatitis B virus (hBV);2) Search for a correlation between cirrhosis and virological profile of patients. Patients and Methods: Retrospective study.about 75 hBsAg positive patients followed-up for at least one y.ar in two medical structures of Abidjan. Studied parameters: clinical signs, biological check-up (serum transaminases every.3 months for at least one y.ar, platelets count and prothrombin rate), abdominal echography. virological check-up (hBsAg, hBeAg, anti-hBe, total anti-hBc, anti-VhC and anti- hIV Ab, hBV DNA biannual quantification during at least one y.ar). histological or biochemical evaluation of hepatic activity.and fibrosis were realized in case of transaminases elevation or hBV DNA > 2000 IU/ml. Results: The mean age of our 75 patients (54 men) was 42.1 ± 11.54 y.ars. hBV was fortuitously.discovered in most of our patients (74.7% of the cases). The hBV inactive chronic carriage was 50.7%;hBeAg-positive and hBeAg-negative chronic hepatitis represented respectively.9.3% and 40% of the cases. Mean B viral load was 327.5 IU/ml in hBV inactive chronic carriers, 44,047,663 IU/ml in hBeAg-positive chronic hBV and 20,231,822 IU/ml in hBeAg-negative chronic hBV. Cirrhosis prevalence was significantly.high- er in positive or negative hBeAg chronic hBV than in hBV inactive chronic carriers (32.4% vs. 5.3%, p = 0.008;OR = 8.6). Conclusion: Our patients’ virological profile was dominated by.hBeAg-negative chronic hBV and hBV inactive chronic carriage. The risk of having cirrhosis was multiplied by.8.6 in case of active chronic hepatitis compared with hBV inactive chronic carriage.

Since a longtime considered as functional and psy.hological, children’s abdominal pains (CAP) is a public health problem. Advances in digestive endoscopy.and helicobacter py.ori (h. py.ori) discovery.have reignited the debate of the organicity.of CAP. The aim of this study.is to determine the diagnosis rentability.of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.(UGIE) in CAP in Ivory.Coast. Patients and Methods: This a retrospective analy.ical study.based on reports of UGIE performed in 2 university.hospital and 3 private clinics of Abidjan from march 2007 to march 2016. The children (from 1 day.to 15 y.ars) in which UGIE were performed for abdominal pains were included in the study. Results: 116 UGIE were performed in children for abdominal pains during the study.period. Epigastric pain was the main indication of UGIE (88%). The diagnosis rentability.of UGIE was more than 70% in this study. The main anomalies observed in UGIE were gastropathies. Ulcers were rarely.found. Conclusion: UGIE play.an important diagnosis role in CAP in Ivory.Coast. however gastric biopsies for helicobacter py.ori research are not common practice in our country.

Introduction: Our study.focused on the evaluation of renal function in children with sickle cell disease compared to children without sickle cell disease at the pediatric emergency.unit of the Donka National hospital and SOS Drepano-Guinea center. Patients and Methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive and analy.ical study.lasting 3 months (October 1 to December 31, 2020). Were included, all sickle cell and non-sickle cell children aged 0 to 15 received on an outpatient basis and had undergone an exploration of renal function (serum creatinine and urine dipstick). Results: We performed the urine dipstick and serum creatinine in 75 children, 45 of whom were sickle cell and 30 were not sickle cell. 27 of our patients or 36% had a reduction in GFR, among them 9 or 20% were sickle cell and 18 or 60% were not sickle cell. The most affected age group was 5 to 9 y.ars in sickle cell (66.7%) and non-sickle cell (38.9%). In sickle cell patients, 9 cases (100%) had mild renal failure (IRL). Non-sickle cell patients, had 14 cases or 77.8% of IRL and 4 cases (22.2%) of moderate IR. Sickle cell disease and antibiotics which had the respective p-value (0.01);(0.02), were statistically.significant with the onset of renal failure. Conclusion: Several factors including sickle cell anemia and antibiotics are believed to be involved in lowering GFR. It would be essential to detect early.the children received in consultation.

In Western countries, the current trend is to use sequential quadruple therapy.or bismuth-based instead of triple therapy.for the eradication of helicobacter py.ori (h. py.ori). In sub-Saharan Africa, high prevalence area of the h. py.ori infection, the effectiveness of these triple therapies widely.used in routine has been little evaluated. The purpose of this study.was to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of three patterns of first-line triple therapy.based on combining a proton pump inhibitors (PPI), and 3 ty.es of antibiotics: omeprazole (O), amoxicillin (A), clary.hromy.in (C) and metronidazole (M). Patients and Methods: This is a randomized clinical trial opened on 3 parallel arms: OAM (group 1 or G1), OAC (group 2 or G2) or OCM (group 3 or G3). The primary.endpoint was h. py.ori eradication rate after seven day. triple therapy. h. py.ori diagnosis infection was based on bacterium detection on the histological examination of the gastric biopsies. histological control was performed 4 weeks after the end of treatment to assess h. py.ori eradication rate. Results: The average age of our 153 patients included in the study.(86 men) was 44.33 ± 11.72 y.ars. The main reason of the endoscopy.was the dy.peptic sy.drome (75.16%). The gastroscopy.was normal in 28.76%. A Gastric or duodenal peptic ulcer was found in 17% of cases and gastropathy.in 45.75%. histologically. the GC was active in 90.9% of cases, follicular in 35.3% of cases, atrophic in 22.5% of cases and was associated with intestinal metaplasia (IM) in 5.2% of cases. Patients of these three groups (n = 64 for G1, n = 56 for G2 and n = 33 for G3) were comparable for age, gender, endoscopy.indications, alcohol consumption history.or smoking, and anti-inflammatory.drugs taking. Approximately.23% of patients experienced adverse reactions. The overall h. py.ori eradication rate was 22.3%. Size distributions of ambient aerosols at the Fresno Supersite were measured with four commercially.available scanning mobility.particle sizers （SMPS）. TSI nano, TSI standard, Grimm, and MSP instruments were collocated at the Fresno Supersite and particle size distributions were measured continuously.from August 18 through September 18, 2005. For particles with diameters between 10 and 200 nm, differences among hourly.average ambient particle concentrations ranged from 0% between the TSI nano and Grimm in the 30-50 nm size range to 39% between the Grimm and MSP in the 10-30 nm size range. MSP concentrations were 10-33% lower than those measured with the TSI standard for particles smaller than 200 nm. The TSI nano and TSI standard agreed to within 5% in their overlapping size range （10-84 nm）. The TSI nano and Grimm agreed to within 40% for 5-10 nm particles.

通过综合考虑影响退耕还林还草的自然和社会因素,结合土地利用规划和遥感影像解译结果,论文以通辽地区为例,介绍了利用土地利用变化模型确定退耕还林还草区域的方法和过程。根据对2010年模型模拟结果和2000年通辽地区土地利用现状的对比分析,结果发现2000～2010年该地区进行退耕还林还草的合适区域应该主要位于研究地区的中部、南部,以及北中部。研究地区中部属于科尔沁沙地的腹地,土地沙漠化最为严重,同时城镇和农村居民点分布较密,退耕还林还草是政府用于减缓风沙对城镇和农村居民点危害程度的重要生态措施;而南部和北中部属于丘陵和山区,由于过度开垦,水土流失较为严重,是实施退耕还林还草的重点区域。此外,与退耕还林区相比,退耕还草区距城镇、农村居民点以及道路相对较远,具有可达性较差、地理位置较为偏僻的特点。论文得出的结果可为今后通辽地区退耕还林还草工程的实施提供科学依据,同时,该文提出的确定退耕还林还草区域的方法对其它地区具有一定的借鉴意义。

德国工程师协会钢铁协会的一则分析预言，到２０１０年高炉仍然是炼铁的主要设备。到那时，优质废钢的供应不足会将世界上炼钢用的电炉增长率限制在３０％。焦炭供应的短缺可通过增加高炉喷煤量和喷重油而得以补尝。但是必须更新现有的焦炉并兴建新的焦化厂，否则到２０００年将会出现世界性的焦炭短缺。但是，如果西方世界实现了对现有矿山的扩建，其矿石的供应将是充足的。由于直接还原铁（ＤＲＩ）的大量生产，而且还由于为满足环保要求而致使烧结厂关闭等原因，球团矿的需求量将会随之增加。
