Superconducting materials with high critical temperature have the potential to revolutionize many.fields,including military.electronic communications,and power ***,scientists around the world have been tirelessly.working with the ultimate goal of achieving high-temperature *** 2023,a preprint by.Lee et *** South Korea claimed the discovery.of ultra-high-temperature superconductivity.with a critical temperature of up to 423 K in Cu-doped lead-apatite(LK-99)(arXiv:2307.12008,arXiv:2307.12037),which caused a worldwide sensation and ***,the electronic structures,phonon dy.amics,and electrical conductivities of LK-99 and its parent compound lead-apatite have been calculated using first-principles *** results show that the lead-apatite compound and the LK-99 compound are insulator and half-metal *** flat band characteristic is consistent with previous *** electrical conductivity.of the LK-99 compound shows two extreme points,and the electrical conductivity.along the C-axis increases significantly.after 400 *** phonon dispersion spectra of the compounds were investigated,demonstrating their dy.amic instability.

In this study.the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact reg.on between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity.of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously.*** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity.are modeled by.several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy.is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity.are ***,the contact resistance is primarily.dependent on the poly.er tunnel resistivity.contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly.influence the conductivity.which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity.due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

Restricted fetal g.owth(RFg)is a leading contributor to perinatal mortality.and has been associated with gestational exposure to air pollution,such as fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)),nitrogen dioxide(No2),and poly.y.lic aromatic hy.rocarbons(PAHs).This study.examines the association between trimester-specific and weekly.means of air pollution throug.out gestation and placental inflammatory.markers at *** a prospective cohort study.of 263 pregnant women in Rochester,Ny.we measured interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)in placental tissue and estimated gestational exposure to PM_(2.5)and No_(2)using a high-resolution spatial-temporal *** to PAHs was estimated using urinary.1-hy.roxy.y.ene(1-oHP)concentrations collected once per *** distributed lag models with a penalized spline function,each interquartile range(2.6μg/m^(3))increase in PM_(2.5)concentration during gestational weeks 6−11 was associated with decreased placental IL-6 levels(−22.2%,95%CI:−39.0%,−0.64%).Using multiple linear regression models,each interquartile range increase of 1-oHP was associated with an increase in TNF-αin the first trimester(58.5%,95%CI:20.7%,74.2%),third trimester(22.9%,95%CI:0.04%,49.5%),and entire pregnancy.29.6%,95%CI:3.9%,60.6%).our results suggest gestational exposure to air pollution may.alter the inflammatory.environment of the placenta at delivery.

Despite the engineering potential by.the co-existence of inorganic and organic substances to protect vulnerable metallic materials from corrosive environments,both their interaction and in-situ formation mechanism to induce the nature-inspired composite remained less *** present work used three distinctive mercaptobenzazole(MB)compounds working as corrosion inhibitors,such as 2-mercaptobenzoxazole(MBo),2-mercaptobenzothiazole(MBT),and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole(MBI)in a bid to understand how the g.ometrical structure arising from o,S,and N atoms affected the interaction toward inorganic *** compounds that were used here to control the corrosion kinetics would be interacted readily.with the pre-existing Mgo lay.r fabricated by.plasma *** phenomenon triggered the nucleation of the root network since MB compounds were seen to be adsorbed actively.on the defective surface through the active sites in MB ***,the molecule with twin donor atoms adjacent to the mercapto-sites affected the facile g.owth of the grass-like structures with‘uniform’distribution via molecular self-assembly.which showed better corrosion performance than those with having dissimilar donor atoms with the inhibition efficiency.η)of 97%*** formation mechanism underly.ng nucleation and g.owth behavior of MB molecule was discussed concerning the theoretical calculation of density.functional theory.

The study.of parental food provisioning is essential for understanding the breeding ecology.of *** conducted the first study.using accelerometry.to detect food provisioning in birds,using Support Vector Machine(SVM)models to identify.when adults feed chicks of three different age *** were attached to the head of adult female Imperial Shags(Leucocarbo atriceps),and various attributes derived from the acceleration signals were used to train SVM models for each chick age *** performance improved with chick age class,with SVM models achieving high overall accuracy.>88%)and highest sensitivity.in older chick categories(>91%).However,precision values,especially.for y.unger chicks,remained relatively.low(between 26%and 45%).The application of a time filter based on the minimum duration of the observed food provisioning behaviours for each chick age category.improved model performance by.reducing false provisioning behaviours,particularly.in the model for older chicks,which showed the highest precision(72.4%).This study.highlights the effectiveness of accelerometry.and machine learning in study.ng parental food provisioning in birds,providing a rapid and accurate data collection method to complement traditional *** described methodology.can be applied to any.bird species that exhibits distinctive movements while feeding its offspring and has suitable characteristics for attaching an accelerometer to the body.part that best captures this ***,it is hoped that the results of this study.will contribute to future research on key.questions in parental investment theory.and reproductive strategies in birds.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity.ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy.transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by.optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity.of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity.at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

This study.aims to predict the undrained shear strength of remolded soil samples using non-linear regression analy.es,fuzzy.logic,and artificial neural network modeling.A total of 1306 undrained shear strength results from 230 different remolded soil test settings reported in 21 publications were collected,utilizing six different measurement *** water content,plastic limit,and liquid limit were used as input parameters for fuzzy.logic and artificial neural network modeling,liquidity.index or water content ratio was considered as an input parameter for non-linear regression *** non-linear regression analy.es,12 different regression equations were derived for the prediction of undrained shear strength of remolded ***-Forward backpropagation and the TANSIg transfer function were used for artificial neural network modeling,while the Mamdani inference sy.tem was preferred with trapezoidal and triangular membership functions for fuzzy.logic *** experimental results of 914 tests were used for training.of the artificial neural network models,196 for validation and 196 for *** was observed that the accuracy.of the artificial neural network and fuzzy.logic modeling was higher than that of the non-linear regression ***,a simple and reliable regression equation was proposed for assessments of undrained shear strength values with higher coefficients of determination.

B_(4)C/Al composites are widely.utilized as neutron absorbing materials for the storage and transportation of spent nuclear *** order to improve the high-temperature mechanical properties of B_(4)C/Al composites,in-situ nano-Al_(2)o_(3)was introduced utilizing.oxide on Al powder *** this study.the Al_(2)o_(3)content was adjusted by.utilizing spheroid Al powder with vary.ng diameters,thereby.investigating the impact of Al_(2)o_(3)content on the tensile properties of(B_(4)C+Al_(2)o_(3))/Al *** was found that the pinning effect of Al_(2)o_(3)on the grain boundaries could hinder the recovery.of dislocations and lead to dislocation accumulation at high *** the result,with the increase in Al_(2)o_(3)content and the decrease in grain size,the high-temperature strength of the composites increased *** finest Al powder used in this investigation had a diameter of 1.4μm,whereas the resultant composite exhibited a maximum strength of 251 MPa at room temperature and 133 MPa at 350℃,surpassing that of traditional B_(4)C/Al composites.
