Social Sy.tem Historical Modeling of Western Economies and its Implications for Eastern Economies

The two purposes of the research are(a)to develop an analy.ical model that views the economy.polity.as a social sy.tem with interactive subsy.tems of actors:households,firms,government,political parties and other significant actors,and(b)apply.the analy.ical model to construct and verify.a timeline that figures major events in world development that shaped the evolution of the western economies,and the relative strength of their interacting *** timeline highlights the changing and evolving dominance of the major subsy.tems in the economic history.of the western *** differ from the convention of looking at history.as the occurrence of exogenous consequential events and offer instead a sy.tem dy.amics analy.is that makes historical events endogenous and to be affected by.the powerplay.within the *** current dominance of the firm subsy.tem in western countries is demonstrated to be the accumulated result of centuries of past events:wars,discoveries,colonies,trade,political enlightenments,and industrial revolutions that strengthened participation and interactions in the firm subsy.tem at the cost of weakened dominance of rival subsy.tems(those of traditional households,theocrats,manors,communes,roy.ls,and the modern state subsy.tem).The behavioral orientation of a social sy.tem is explainable in terms of(a)interactive influence(which occurs during the participation and interaction of agents in multiple settings,with some settings having more interactive influence than others),and(b)regulative influence(where the conduct of the one subsy.tem overrules that of other subsy.tems).Western economic history.suggests a positive conditional correlation and convergence between(a)and(b).Being conditional,the convergence between(a)and(b)may.not hold in other world contexts,i.e.,China,India,Arab and African countries.

The temporal variation of greenhouse gas concentrations in China during the COVID-19 lockdown in China is analy.ed in this work using high resolution measurements of near surface ΔCO_(2),ΔCH_(4) andΔCO concentrations above the background conditions at Lin’an station(LAN),a regional background station in the y.ngtze River Delta *** the pre-lockdown observational period(IOP-1),bothΔCO_(2) andΔCH_(4) exhibited a significant increasing trend relative to the 2011-2019 climatological *** reduction ofΔCO_(2),ΔCH_(4) andΔCO during the lockdown observational period(IOP-2)(which also coincided with the Chinese New y.ar Holiday.reached up to 15.0 ppm,14.2 ppb and 146.8 ppb,respectively.and a reduction ofΔCO_(2)/ΔCO probably.due to a dramatic reduction from industrial emissions.ΔCO_(2),ΔCH_(4) and ΔCO were observed to keep declining during the post-lockdown easing phase(IOP-3),which is the sy.thetic result of lower than normal CO_(2) emissions from rural regions around LAN coupled with strong uptake of the terrestrial ***,the trend reversed to gradual increase for all species during the later easing phase(IOP-4),with ΔCO_(2)/ΔCO constantly.increasing from IOP-2 to IOP-3 and finally.IOP-4,consistent with recovery.in industrial emissions associated with the staged resumption of economic *** average,ΔCO_(2) declined sharply.throughout the day. during IOP-2 but increased gradually.throughout the day. during *** findings showcase the significant role of emission reduction in accounting for the dramatic changes in measured atmosphericΔCO_(2) and ΔCH_(4) associated with the COVID-19 lockdown and recovery.

Exploring the natural diversity.of functional genes/proteins from environmental DNA in high throughput remains *** this study.we developed a sequence-based functional metagenomics procedure for mining the diversity.of copper(Cu)resistance gene copA in global microbiomes,by.combining the metagenomic assembly.technology.local BLAST,evolutionary.trace analy.is(ETA),chemical sy.thesis,and conventional functional *** total,87 metagenomes were collected from a public database and subjected to copA detection,resulting in 93,899 *** curation of 1214 hits of high confidence led to the retrieval of 517 unique CopA candidates,which were further subjected to ***,175 novel copA sequences of high quality.were *** analy.is showed that almost all these putative CopA proteins were distantly.related to known CopA proteins,with 55 sequences from totally.unknown *** novel and three known copA genes were chemically.sy.thesized for further functional genomic tests using the Cu-sensitive Escherichia coli(DcopA).The growth test and Cu uptake determination showed that five novel clones had positive effects on host Cu resistance and *** recombinant harboring copA-like 15(copAL15)successfully.restored Cu resistance of the host with a substantially.enhanced Cu *** novel copA genes were fused with the gfp gene and expressed in *** for microscopic *** results showed that they.were successfully.expressed and their proteins were localized to the *** results here greatly.expand the diversity.of known CopA proteins,and the sequence-based procedure developed overcomes biases in length,screening methods,and abundance of conventional functional metagenomics.

In this paper, we give the state of the art for the so called “mixed spectral elements” for Maxwell＇s equations. Several families of elements, such as edge elements and discon-tinuous Galerkin methods （DGM） are presented and discussed. In particular, we show the need of introducing some numerical dissipation terms to avoid spurious modes in these methods. Such terms are classical for DGM but their use for edge element methods is novel approach described in this paper. Finally. numerical experiments show the fast and low-cost character of these elements.
