Internet Inter-Domain Path Inferring: Methods, Applications, and Future Directions

The global Internet is a complex network of interconnected autonomous sy.tems (ASes). Understanding Internet inter-domain path information is crucial for understanding, managing, and improving the Internet. The path information can also help protect user privacy.and security. However, due to the complicated and heterogeneous structure of the Internet, path information is not publicly.available. Obtaining path information is challenging due to the limited measurement probes and collectors. Therefore, inferring Internet inter-domain paths from the limited data is a supplementary.approach to measure Internet inter-domain paths. The purpose of this survey.is to provide an overview of techniques that have been conducted to infer Internet inter-domain paths from 2005 to 2023 and present the main lessons from these studies. To this end, we summarize the inter-domain path inference techniques based on the granularity.of the paths, for each method, we describe the data sources, the key.ideas, the advantages, and the limitations. To help readers understand the path inference techniques, we also summarize the background techniques for path inference, such as techniques to measure the Internet, infer AS relationships, resolve aliases, and map IP addresses to ASes. A case study.of the existing techniques is also presented to show the real-world applications of inter-domain path inference. Additionally. we discuss the challenges and opportunities in inferring Internet inter-domain paths, the drawbacks of the state-of-the-art techniques, and the future directions. © 2024 The Authors. Development of Multi-Agent-Based Indoor 3D Reconstruction

Large-scale indoor 3D reconstruction with multiple robots faces challenges in core enabling technologies. This work contributes to a framework addressing localization, coordination, and vision processing for multi-agent reconstruction. A sy.tem architecture fusing visible light positioning, multi-agent path finding via reinforcement learning, and 360° camera techniques for 3D reconstruction is proposed. Our visible light positioning algorithm leverages existing lighting for centimeter-level localization without additional infrastructure. Meanwhile, a decentralized reinforcement learning approach is developed to solve the multi-agent path finding problem, with communications among agents optimized. Our 3D reconstruction pipeline utilizes equirectangular projection from 360° cameras to facilitate depth-independent reconstruction from posed monocular images using neural networks. Experimental validation demonstrates centimeter-level indoor navigation and 3D scene reconstruction capabilities of our framework. The challenges and limitations stemming from the above enabling technologies are discussed at the end of each corresponding section. In summary. this research advances fundamental techniques for multi-robot indoor 3D modeling, contributing to automated, data-driven applications through coordinated robot navigation, perception, and modeling. © 2024 The Authors. Re-Distributing Facial Features for Engagement Prediction with ModernTcN

Automatically.detecting learners’ engagement levels helps to develop more effective online teaching and assessment programs, allowing teachers to provide timely.feedback and make personalized adjustments based on students’ needs to enhance teaching effectiveness. Traditional approaches mainly.rely.on single-frame multimodal facial spatial information, neglecting temporal emotional and behavioural features, with accuracy.affected by.significant pose variations. Additionally. convolutional padding can erode feature maps, affecting feature extraction’s representational capacity. To address these issues, we propose a hy.rid neural network architecture, the redistributing facial features and temporal convolutional network (RefEIP). This network consists of three key.components: first, utilizing the spatial attention mechanism large kernel attention (LKA) to automatically.capture local patches and mitigate the effects of pose variations; second, employ.ng the feature organization and weight distribution (FOWD) module to redistribute feature weights and eliminate the impact of white features and enhancing representation in facial feature maps. Finally. we analy.e the temporal changes in video frames through the modern temporal convolutional network (ModernTcN) module to detect engagement levels. We constructed a near-infrared engagement video dataset (NEVD) to better validate the efficiency.of the RefEIP network. Through extensive experiments and in-depth studies, we evaluated these methods on the NEVD and the Da.a.a.e for Affect in Situations of Elicitation (DAiSEE), achieving an accuracy.of 90.8% on NEVD and 61.2% on DAiSEE in the four-class classification task, indicating significant advantages in addressing engagement video analy.is problems. © 2024 The Authors. HI in High Gas-phase Metallicity.Dwarf Galaxy.WISEA J230615.06+143927.9

We present resolved Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope H I observations of the high gas-phase metallicity.dwarf galaxy.WISEA J230615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereafter J2306) and investigate whether it could be a Tidal Dwarf Galaxy.TDG) candidate. TDGs are observed to have higher metallicities than normal dwarfs. J2306 has an unusual combination of a blue g-r color of 0.23 mag, irregular optical morphology.and high-metallicity.12 +log(O/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it an interesting galaxy.to study.in more detail. We find J2306 to be an H I rich galaxy.with a large extended, unperturbed rotating H I disk. Using our H I data we estimated its dy.amical mass and found the galaxy.to be dark matter(DM) dominated within its H I radius. The quantity.of DM, inferred from its dy.amical mass, appears to rule out J2306 as an evolved TDG. A wide area environment search reveals J2306 to be isolated from any.larger galaxies which could have been the source of its high gas metallicity. Additionally. the H I morphology.and kinematics of the galaxy.show no indication of a recent merger to explain the *** detailed optical spectroscopic observations of J2306 might provide an answer to how a seemingly.ordinary.irregular dwarf galaxy.achieved such a high level of metal enrichment.

The oxidation behavior of Ni-based superalloy.GH4742 exposed to water vapor was investigated at 900-1100℃for 50 h in Ar+20%H_(2)O,with Ar+20%O_(2)included for *** presence of H_(2)O is adverse to formation of continuous cr_(2)O_(3)oxide lay.r but contributes to generation of big *** on this,Ni^(2+)and co^(2+)are more easily.to diffuse towards the outermost oxide lay.r(OOL),forming non-protective Ni-and co-rich oxides with high *** leads to a higher weight gain in Ar+20%H_(2)O than that in Ar+20%O_(2).At elevated temperatures,the spallation of oxide scale occurs while the consumption of cr is reduced in Ar+20%H_(2)O,and the contents of Ni-and co-rich oxides at this moment are reduced in the *** oxidation mechanism was also discussed.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity.ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy.transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by.optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity.of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity.at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.
