In classical optics, interference occurs between two optical fields when they.are indistinguishable from one another. The same holds true in quantum optics, where a particular experiment, the Franson interferometer, involves the interference of a photon pair with a time-delay.d version of itself. The canonical version of this interferom- eter requires that the time delay.be much shorter than the coherence length of the pump used to generate the photon pair, so as to guarantee indistinguishability. However, when this time delay.is comparable to the coherence length, conventional wisdom suggests that interference visibility.degrades significantly. In this work, though, we show that the interference visibility.can be restored through judicious temporal post-selection. Utilizing correlated photon pairs generated by.a pump whose pulsewidth （460 ps） is shorter than the interferometer＇s time delay.（500 ps）, we are able to observe a fringe visibility.of 97.4＋4.3%. We believe this new method can be used for the encoding of high-dimensional quantum information in the temporal domain.

Placic horizons, defined as thin, wavy. hardened lay.rs of iron and organic matter, are rare within the United States, occurring only.in Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. While ironstone is common in many.soils of the southeastern United States, it is not known to contain appreciable organic matter. As a pilot study.evaluating the justification for a larger study.on ironstone in Louisiana, a 40 m lateral exposure with suspected placic horizons was evaluated in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. Results of laboratory.analy.is show elevated levels of iron and organic matter in the suspect horizons that meet the criteria of placic horizons as defined by.the Soil Survey.Staff. Based on the results of this study. additional evaluation of multiple pedons with similar features is warranted. Should additional pedons demonstrate similar properties, a new great group of 'Petrudepts' would be needed to describe both the placic horizons in the pedon and the udic moisture regime in which they.occur.

The study.on the fluid flow, meniscus oscillation, slag entrapment in continuous casting mould was conducted mathematically.and experimentally. The results show that the injection of argon into submerged nozzle enhances the meniscus oscillation, thus increases the probability.of slag entrapment, and the critical argon blowing flow rate, which will give rise to slag entrapment, is around 10l/min. The trajectory.of bubble is affected by.the bubble diameter and the molten steel flow, and the bubble diameter is dominant. The bubble with diameter 1.4mm floats fastest with 0.47m/s terminal velocity.

Exploring carbon emission effects based on the evolution of residents’ dietary.structure to achieve the carbon neutrality.goal and mitigate climate change is an important *** study.took China as the research object(data excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan) and used the carbon emission coefficient method to quantitatively.measure the food carbon emissions from 1987–2020,then analy.ed the carbon emission effects under the evolution of dietary.*** results showed that during the study.period,the Chinese dietary.structure gradually.changed to a high-carbon consumption *** dietary.structure of urban residents developed to a balanced one,while that of rural residents developed to a high-quality.*** the study.period,the per capita food carbon emissions and total food consumption of Chinese showed an increasing *** per capita food carbon emissions of residents in urban and rural showed an overall upward *** total food carbon emissions in urban increased significantly.while that in rural increased first and then *** influence of beef and mutton on carbon emissions is the highest in dietary.*** with the balanced dietary.pattern,the food carbon emissions of Chinese residents had not y.t reached the peak,but were evolving to a high-carbon consumption pattern.

The high content of aluminum(Al)impurity.in the recy.led cathode powder seriously.affects the extraction efficiency.of Nickel,Cobalt,Manganese,and Lithium resources and the actual commercial value of recy.led materials,so Al removal is crucially.important to conform to the industrial standard of spent Li-ion battery.cathode *** this work,we sy.tematically.investigated the leaching process and optimum conditions associated with Al removal from the cathode powder materials collected in a wet cathode-powder peeling and recy.ling production line of spent Li-ion batteries(LIBs).Moreover,we specifically.studied the leaching of fluorine(F)sy.ergistically.happened along with the removal process of Al,which was not concerned about in other studies,but one of the key.factors affecting pollution prevention in the recovery.*** mechanism of the whole process including the leaching of Al and F from the cathode powder was indicated by.using NMR,FTIR,and XPS,and a defluoridation process was preliminarily.investigated in this *** leaching kinetics of Al could be successfully.described by.the shrinking core model,controlled by.the diffusion process and the activation energy.was 11.14 kJ/***,the leaching of F was attributed to the dissolution of LiPF6and decomposition of PVDF,and the kinetics associated was described by.Avrami *** interaction of Al and F is advantageous to realize the defluoridation to some *** is expected that our investigation will provide theoretical support for the large-scale recy.ling of spent LIBs.
