Solid Desiccant Dehumidification Techniques Inspired from Natural Electroosmosis Phenomena

Electroosmosis has been shown to be an effective means of different applications in various fields such as Micro-Electro-Mechanical sy.tems （MEMS） and biomimetics applications. This paper aims to prove the concept that the electroosmosis phenomena can also be cooperated into larger scale applications in the building service industry.like dehumidification or damping proof. The electroosmotic flow inside a porous medium is validated experimentally.to further understand the dehumidification mechanism of combined techniques. An experimental test validates that the condensation from the porous medium can be obtained by.electroosmotic force generated by.external electric field, especially.for specific desiccant powders like zeolite and diatomaceous earth. With a range of volts from 5 V to 20 V apply.ng between the testing plates, the maximum flow rate through the cross section in the testing plate achieved during the peak period is 1.35 laL＇min 1. These promising phenomena can act as an alternative way.for energy.choice in dehumidification industrial field. Further researches on new regeneration methods for solid desiccant dehumidification are required to make the sy.tem simple, energy.saving and suitable for small air conditioning units.

In order to improve the efficiency.of film cooling, numerical investigation was carried out to study.the effects of different film-cooled plates on surface heat transfer. Both grooved and non-grooved surfaces were concerned. The modeling was per- formed using Fluent software with the adoption of Shear-Stress Transport （SST） k-ωmodel as the turbulence closure. The coolant was supplied by.a single film cooling hole with an inclination angle of 30°. The Mach numbers for the coolant flow and the mainstream flow were fixed at 0 and 0.6, respectively. At three blowing ratios of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5, the aerody.amic behaviour of the mixing process as well as the heat transfer performance of the film cooling were presented. The numerical results were validated using experimental data extracted from a benchmark test. Good agreements between numerical results and the ex- perimental data were observed. For the film cooling efficiency. it shows that both local and laterally.averaged cooling effectiveness can be improved by.the non-smooth surface at different blowing ratios. Using the grooved surface, the turbulence intensity.upon the plate can be reduced notably. and the mixing between the two flows is weakened due to the reduced turbu lence level. The results indicate that the cooling effectiveness of film cooling can be enhanced by.apply.ng the grooved surface.

Fingering phenomena are common occurrence in the natural world. It generally.takes place when a less viscous fluid displacesa more viscous fluid ty.ically.in porous media. Nowaday., such phenomena have extensively.been studied due to itsimportance in many.industrial fields. In this paper, the effects of surface wettability.on finger pattern are studied and simulatednumerically.by.the Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). The displacement efficiency.is investigated by.using two parameters,namely. the breakthrough time and the areal sweep efficiency. The simulation has demonstrated that surface wettability.willinfluence the finger pattern no matter the gravity.is considered or not, but in the presence of gravity. the finger pattern is muchmore complicated and irregular due to the coexistence and competition of capillary.force, viscous force and gravity.

This paper proposes a new method for service restoration of distribution network with the support of transportable power sources(TPSs)and repair crews(RCs).Firstly.a coupling model of distribution networks and vehicle routing of TPSs and RCs is proposed,where the TPSs serve as emergency.power supply.sources,and the RCs are used to repair the faulted *** the uncertainty.of traffic congestion,the probability.distribution of the travel time spent on each road is derived based on the Nesterov user equilibrium model,and a two-stage stochastic program is formulated to determine the optimal routings of TPSs and *** efficiently.solve the proposed stochastic mixed-integer linear program(MILP),a two-phase scenario reduction method is then developed to scale down the problem size,and an adaptive progressive hedging algorithm is used for an efficient *** effectiveness of the proposed methods and algorithms has been illustrated in a modified IEEE 33-bus sy.tem.

We present resolved Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope H I observations of the high gas-phase metallicity.dwarf galaxy.WISEA J230615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereafter J2306) and investigate whether it could be a Tidal Dwarf Galaxy.TDG) candidate. TDGs are observed to have higher metallicities than normal dwarfs. J2306 has an unusual combination of a blue g-r color of 0.23 mag, irregular optical morphology.and high-metallicity.12 +log(O/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it an interesting galaxy.to study.in more detail. We find J2306 to be an H I rich galaxy.with a large extended, unperturbed rotating H I disk. Using our H I data we estimated its dy.amical mass and found the galaxy.to be dark matter(DM) dominated within its H I radius. The quantity.of DM, inferred from its dy.amical mass, appears to rule out J2306 as an evolved TDG. A wide area environment search reveals J2306 to be isolated from any.larger galaxies which could have been the source of its high gas metallicity. Additionally. the H I morphology.and kinematics of the galaxy.show no indication of a recent merger to explain the *** detailed optical spectroscopic observations of J2306 might provide an answer to how a seemingly.ordinary.irregular dwarf galaxy.achieved such a high level of metal enrichment.

Recently.deep learning has y.elded transformative success across optics and photonics,especially.in optical *** neural networks (DNNs) with a fully.convolutional architecture (e.g.,U-Net and its derivatives) have been widely.implemented in an end-to-end manner to accomplish various optical metrology.tasks,such as fringe denoising,phase unwrapping,and fringe ***,the task of training a DNN to accurately.identify.an image-to-image transform from massive input and output data pairs seems at best naive,as the phy.ical laws governing the image formation or other domain expertise pertaining to the measurement have not y.t been fully.exploited in current deep learning *** this end,we introduce a phy.ics-informed deep learning method for fringe pattern analy.is (PI-FPA) to overcome this limit by.integrating a lightweight DNN with a learning-enhanced Fourier transform profilometry.(Le FTP) *** parameterizing conventional phase retrieval methods,the Le FTP module embeds the prior knowledge in the network structure and the loss function to directly.provide reliable phase results for new ty.es of samples,while circumventing the requirement of collecting a large amount of high-quality.data in supervised learning *** by.the initial phase from Le FTP,the phase recovery.ability.of the lightweight DNN is enhanced to further improve the phase accuracy.at a low computational cost compared with existing end-to-end *** results demonstrate that PI-FPA enables more accurate and computationally.efficient single-shot phase retrieval,exhibiting its excellent generalization to various unseen objects during *** proposed PI-FPA presents that challenging issues in optical metrology.can be potentially.overcome through the sy.ergy.of phy.ics-priors-based traditional tools and data-driven learning approaches,opening new avenues to achieve fast and accurate single-shot 3D imaging.

Modern power grid is fast emerging as a complex cy.er-phy.ical power sy.tem(CPPS)integrating phy.ical current-carry.ng components and processes with cy.er-embedded computing,which faces increasing cy.berspace security.threats and *** this paper,the state(i.e.,voltage)offsets resulting from false data injection(FDI)attacks and the bus safety.characterization are applied to quantify.the attack *** state offsets are obtained by.the state estimation method,and the bus safety.characterization considers the power net-work topology.as well as the vulnerability.and connection relationship of *** the indeterminacy.of attacker’s resource consumption and reward,a zero-sum game-theoretical model from the defender’s perspective with incomplete information is explored for the optimal allocation of limited defensive *** attacker aims to falsify.measurements without triggering threshold alarms to break through the protection,leading to load shedding,over-voltage or *** defender attempts to ensure the estimation results to be as close to the actual states as possible,and guarantee the sy.tem’s safety.and efficient defensive resource *** proposed solution is extensively.evaluated through simu-lations using the IEEE 33-bus test network and real-time digital simulator(RTDS)based testbed experiments of the IEEE 14-bus *** results demonstrate the effec-tiveness of the proposed game-theoretical approach for optimal defensive resource allocation in CPPS when lim-ited resources are available when under FDI *** Terms—Optimal strategy.game theory.Nash equilibrium,CPPS,FDI attack.

Background:Previously.published meta-epidemiological studies focused on Western medicine have identified some trial characteristics that impact the treatment effect of randomized controlled trials(RCTs).Nevertheless,it remains unclear if similar associations exist in RCTs on Chinese herbal medicine(CHM).Further,Chinese medicine-related characteristics have not been explored ***:To investigate trial characteristics related to treatment effect estimates on CHM *** strategy.This meta-epidemiological study.searched 5 databases for sy.tematic reviews on CHM treatment published between January.2011 and July.*** criteria:An eligible sy.tematic review should only.include RCTs of CHM and conduct at least one *** extraction and analy.is:Two reviewers independently.conducted data extraction on general characteristics of sy.tematic reviews,meta-analy.es and included *** also assessed the risk of bias of RCTs using the Cochrane risk of bias tool.A two-step approach was used for data *** ratio of odds ratios(ROR) and difference in standardized mean differences (dSMD) with 95%confidence interval (CI) were applied to present the difference in effect estimates for binary.and continuous outcomes,***:Ninety.one sy.tematic reviews,comprising 1338 RCTs were *** binary.outcomes,RCTs incorporated with sy.drome differentiation (ROR:1.23;95%CI:[1.07,1.39]),adopting Chinese medicine formula (ROR:1.19;95%CI:[1.03,1.34]),with low risk of bias on incomplete outcome data (ROR:1.29;95%CI:[1.06,1.52]) and selective outcome reporting (ROR:1.12;95%CI:[1.01,1.24]),as well as a trial size≥100 (ROR:1.23;95%CI:[1.04,1.42]) preferred to show larger effect *** for continuous outcomes,RCTs with Chinese medicine diagnostic criteria (dSMD:0.23;95%CI:[0.06,0.41]),judged as high/unclear risk of bias on allocation concealment (dSMD:-0.70;95%CI:[-0.99,-0.42]),with low risk of bias on incomplete outcome data (dSMD:0.30
