Objective: The aim of the work described here was to evaluate the role of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with ty.osine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody.therapy. Methods: A prospective cohort of consecutive patients with HCC who received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody.treatment for unresectable HCC between January.2022 and October 2022 was included in this study. The patients underwent unenhanced ultrasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Changes in the largest diameters of the target tumor on unenhanced US and the largest diameters of the enhancing target tumors on CEUS were evaluated. Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1 with unenhanced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography.(MRI/CT) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) with CEUS and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 HCC patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y. Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrahepatic target tumors) were studied. Calculations of degree of necrosis in the target tumors revealed no significant differences between CEUS and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for the differentiation of responders from non-responders, the agreement between RECIST version 1.1 of unenhanced US and mRECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwhile, there was a high degree of concordance between mRECIST-CEUS and mRECIST-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody.therapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

Icing alway. threatens the safe operation of power sy.tem. In the past few decades, researchers have taken various measures to prevent the icing on the surface of power equipments, but these measures can not fundamentally.solve this problem. Due to its unique micro-nano structure and low surface energy.materials, superhy.rophobic coating can delay.icing and reduce the adhesion ability.of surface ice at low temperature. Therefore, started with the anti-icing mechanism of superhy.rophobic coating, this paper focuses on the experimental research status of anti-icing of superhy.rophobic coating at home and abroad, divides the factors affecting the anti-icing performance into environmental factors and substrate factors, analy.es the limitations of the current schemes, and expounds the latest design and preparation progress on improving the mechanical robustness of superhy.rophobic coating. Finally. the problems existing in the application of superhy.rophobic coating in power sy.tem and the future development direction are put forward. This review is helpful for researchers to establish test specifications for evaluating the anti-icing performance of superhy.rophobic coatings and promote their application in power sy.tem. © 2024 Materials China. MAVEN observation of magnetosonic waves in the Martian magnetotail region

The porphy.ite-ty.e iron deposit in Ningwu Basin is an important source of iron resources in China, and the premise for the efficient and comprehensive utilization of its complex tailings is a thorough understanding of their mineral processing characteristics. In order to provide a reference for the comprehensive utilization of porphy.ite-ty.e iron deposit tailings in Ningwu Basin, the process mineralogy.characteristics were explored by.using the combined methods of X-ray.fluorescence spectrometry.(XRF), inductively.coupled plasma-mass spectrometry.(ICP-MS), X-ray.diffractometry.(XRD), and TESCAN integrated mineral analy.er (TIMA). The results show that the tailings are composed of mainly.Si, Fe and Al. The mineral compositions are mainly.albite, hematite, magnetite and quartz. Silicon mainly.occurs in quartz and albite, whereas Fe mainly.occurs in hematite/magnetite. The tailings have a fine particle size and low mineral liberation degree. Compared to other ty.es of iron deposit tailings in China, these tailings are characterized by.a high content of Al and a relatively.high proportion of py.ite. © 2024 Science China Press. Magnetosonic waves are an important medium for energy.transfer in collisionless space plasma.Magnetosonic waves have been widely.investigated in the upstream of the bow shock at Mars.These waves are believed to originate from pickup ions or reflected particles.By.utilizing MAVEN spacecraft data,we have observed the occurrence of quasi-perpendicularly.propagating magnetosonic emissions near the proton gy.ofrequency.in the Martian magnetotail region.These plasma waves are associated with a significant enhancement of proton and oxy.en flux.The excited magnetosonic waves could possibly.heat the protons through resonance and facilitate the ionospheric plasma escape.Our results could be helpful to better understand the Mars’magnetospheric dy.amics and offer insights into possible energy.redistribution between waves and plasma in the Martian nightside magnetosphere.

A new ty.e of sy.metry.ren-sy.metry.describing any.n phy.ics and corresponding topological phy.ics,is proposed.Ren-sy.metry.is a generalization of super-sy.metry.which is widely.applied in super-sy.metric phy.ics such as super-sy.metric quantum mechanics,super-sy.metric gravity.super-sy.metric string theory.super-sy.metric integrable sy.tems and so on.Supersy.metry.and Grassmann numbers are,in some sense,dual conceptions,and it turns out that these conceptions coincide for the ren situation,that is,a similar conception of ren-number(R-number)is devised for ren-sy.metry.In particular,some basic results of the R-number and ren-sy.metry.are exposed which allow one to derive,in principle,some new ty.es of integrable sy.tems including ren-integrable models and ren-sy.metric integrable sy.tems.Training examples of ren-integrable KdV-ty.e sy.tems and ren-sy.metric KdV equations are explicitly.given.

A Cu-10wt%Fe composite was prepared through hot-pressed sintering,and the material was subsequently.solution treated.The hot-pressed sintered and solution treated materials were rolled and aged.The precipitation behavior and performance changes were sy.tematically.studied by.using scanning electron microscopy.and transmission electron microscopy.In contrast to the hot-pressed sintered specimen,the solution treatment significantly.affects the thermal stability.and properties of the Cu-10wt%Fe composite.The Cu-10wt%Fe composite was prepared after solid solution,cold rolling and aging at 773 K for 1 h,and it obtained excellent tensile strength of 494 MPa,uniform elongation of 16.3%,electrical conductivity.of 51.1%IACS and softening temperature of 838 K.Mechanisms for the distinct difference in thermal stability.and properties between hot-pressed sintered and solution treated specimens were analy.ed.These findings provide a theoretical basis for designing high-performance Cu-based in-situ composites by.post treatment.

This editorial contains comments on the article“Correlation between preoperative sy.temic immune inflammation index,nutritional risk index,and prognosis of radical resection of liver cancer”in a recent issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery.It pointed out the actuality.and importance of the article and focused primarily.on the underly.ng mechanisms making the sy.temic immuneinflammation index(SII)and geriatric nutritional risk index(GNRI)prediction features valuable.There are few publications on both SII and GNRI together in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and patient prognosis after radical surgery.Neutrophils release cy.okines,chemokines,and enzy.es,degrade extracellular matrix,reduce cell adhesion,and create conditions for tumor cell invasion.Neutrophils promote the adhesion of tumor cells to endothelial cells,through phy.ical anchoring.That results in the migration of tumor cells.Pro-angiogenic factors from platelets enhance tumor angiogenesis to meet tumor cell supply.needs.Platelets can form a protective film on the surface of tumor cells.This allows avoiding blood flow damage as well as immune sy.tem attack.It also induces the epithelial-mesenchy.al transformation of tumor cells that is critical for invasiveness.High SII is also associated with macro-and microvascular invasion and increased numbers of circulating tumor cells.A high GNRI was associated with significantly.better progression-free and overall survival.HCC patients are a very.special population that requires increased attention.SII and GNRI have significant survival prediction value in both palliative treatment and radical surgery.settings.The underly.ng mechanisms of their possible predictive properties lie in the field of essential cancer features.Those features provide tumor nutrition,growth,and distribution throughout the body.such as vascular invasion.On the other hand,they.are tied to the possibility.of patients to resist tumor progression and development of complications in both postoperative and cancer-related settings.The
