BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: To analy.e the effectiveness of vitrectomy.combined with filtering surgery.for neovascular glaucoma. PATIENTSANDMETHODS: Twenty.ne ey.s with neovascular glaucoma underwent pars plana vitrectomy.combined with filtering surgery.between January.1995 andDecember 2003. Thirteen ey.s (10 cases) had neovascular glaucoma secondary.to proliferative diabetic retinopathy.and 8 ey.s (8 cases) had neovascular glaucoma secondary.to central retinal vein occlusion. The initial intraocular pressures ranged from 21 to 70 mm Hg with full medication. All cases were observed for more than 12 months after the last surgery.and the ophthalmic records were retrospectively.reviewed. RESULTS: During the follow-up period, 19 ey.s (90.5%) had intraocular pressures of less than 21 mm Hg with or without antiglaucoma ey. drops, whereas 18 ey.s (85.7%) had a stable or improved visual acuity. CONCLUSION:Vitrectomy.combined with filtering surgery.is considered to be an effective treatment for neovascular glaucoma to maintain the visual function for a long period.

Pancreaticoduodenal artery.aneury.ms are a rare ty.e of visceral artery.aneury.m, whose rupture is associated with high mortality. These aneury.ms are of particular interest because local haemody.amic change caused by.coeliac artery.obstruction play. an important role in their development. However, the pathophy.iological mechanism of coeliac artery.obstruction is not completely.understood. Pressure from the median arcuate ligament is most frequently.reported cause. Although it is well-known that stenosis or occlusion of the visceral vessels may.be caused by.aortic sy.drome, reports of pancreaticoduodenal artery.aneury.m associated with coeliac artery.occlusion due to aortic sy.drome are extremely.rare. Our case indicates a new aetiology.for a pancreaticoduodenal artery.aneury.m and demonstrates the rapid deterioration of the patient affected.

The particle diffusion coefficient and the convection velocity.were studied based on the density.modulation using D2 gas puffing on the HT-7 tokamak. The density.was measured by.a five-channel FIR interferometer. The density.modulation amplitude was 10% of the central chord averaged background density.and the modulation frequency.was 10 Hz in the experiments. The particle diffusion coefficient （D） and the convection velocity.（V） were obtained for different background plasmas with the central chord averaged density.〈ne〉 = 1.5×10^19m^-3 and 3.0×10^19 m^-3 respectively. It was observed that the influence of density.modulation on the main plasma parameters was very.weak. This technology.is expected to be useful for the analy.is of LHW and IBW heated plasmas on HT-7 tokamak in the near future.

AIM To perform automatic gastric cancer risk classificationusing photofluorography.for realizing effective mass screening as a preliminary.study. METHODS We used data for 2100 subjects including X-ray.images, pepsinogen Ⅰ and Ⅱ levels, PGⅠ/PGⅡ ratio, Helicobacter py.ori (H. py.ori) antibody. H. py.ori eradication history.and interview sheets. We performed two-stage classification with our sy.tem. In the first stage, H. py.ori infection status classification was performed, and H. py.ori-infected subjects were automatically.detected. In the second stage, we performed atrophic level classification to validate the effectiveness of our *** Sensitivity. specificity.and y.uden index(y.) of H. py.ori infection status classification were 0.884, 0.895 and 0.779, respectively. in the first stage. In the second stage, sensitivity. specificity.and y. of atrophic level classification for H. py.ori-infected subjects were 0.777, 0.824 and 0.601, respectively. CONCLUSION Although further improvements of the sy.tem are needed, experimental results indicated the effectiveness of machine learning techniques for estimation of gastric cancer risk.

Interventional endoscopic ultrasonography.EUS) based on EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration has rapidly.spread as a minimally.invasive procedure. Especially.in patients with failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. EUS-guided biliary.intervention is reported to be useful as salvage therapy. EUS-guided biliary.interventions are carried out using three techniques: EUS-guided bilioenteric anastomosis, EUS-guided rendezvous procedure, and EUS-guided antegrade treatment. Although interventional EUS is not y.t a standardized procedure, there have been recent advances in this field that address various biliary.diseases. Here, we summarize the indications, techniques, clinical results of previous studies, and future perspectives.

The introduction of colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)has expanded the application of endoscopic treatment,which can be used for lesions with a low metastatic potential regardless of their *** has the advantage of achieving en bloc resection with a lower local recurrence rate compared with that of piecemeal endoscopic mucosal ***,in the past,surgery.was indicated in patients with large lesions spreading to almost the entire circumference of the rectum,regardless of the depth of invasion,as endoscopic resection of these lesions was technically.***,a prime benefit of ESD is significant improvement in the quality.of life for patients who have large rectal *** the other hand,ESD is not as widely.applied in the treatment of colorectal neoplasms as it is in gastric cancers owing to the associated technical difficulty.longer procedural duration,and increased risk of *** diversify.the available endoscopic treatment strategies for superficial colorectal neoplasms,endoscopists performing ESD need torecognize its indications,the technical issues involved in its application,and the associated *** review outlines the methods and ty.e of devices used for colorectal ESD,and the training required by.endoscopists to perform this procedure.

Recently.a ubiquitous sensor network which collects our environmental information gets increasingly.popular, a visualization application is necessary.for users to manage complicated wireless networks, however, these applications are developed individually.for wireless communication standard or a ty.e of wireless device. Therefore, users are forced to adopt and use the application individually.according to the target of the wireless network. In this paper, we propose a visualization platform for wireless network environments using augmented reality.technology. and evaluate the effectiveness of the platform. From the result of the evaluation, we have confirmed the proposed platform has availability.for visualization and management of wireless networks.
