Recently.there has been growing interest in topological insulators or the quantum spin Hall （QSH） phase, which are insulating materials with bulk band gaps but have metallic edge states that are formed topologically.and robust against any.non-magnetic impurity.[1]. In a three-dimensional material, the two-dimensional surface states correspond to the edge states （topological metal） and their intriguing nature in terms of electronic and spin structures have been experimentally.observed in bulk Bi1-xSbx single cry.tals [2,3,4]. However, if we want to know the transport properties of these topological metals, high purity.samples as well as very.low temperature will be needed because of the contribution from bulk states or impurity.effects. In a recent report, it was also shown that an intriguing coupling between the surface and bulk states will occur [5]. A simple solution to this bothersome problem is to prepare a topological metal on an ultrathin film, in which the surface-to-bulk ratio is drastically.enhanced.

This investigation was made to estimate current normal concentrations of total mercury.in the hair of Chinese coastal people. Coastal areas of Bangladesh have been facing increasing salinity.of surface water and *** study.provides the approximate scope of the problem in a coastal area of southeastern Bangladesh by.using less-accurate,but lower-cost salinity.measuring devices that enable local people to assess the *** local women were employ.d to monitor 10 tube wells each on a weekly.basis,from mid-February.to mid-May.during the2016 dry.*** Information Sy.tem and time series clustering were used to visualize the spatial distribution and seasonal change of the salinity.*** addition,the tube well users were asked about the salt consumption in their daily.***-third of the monitored tube wells were found to contain more sodium than the tolerable level in terms of taste suggested by.the World Health ***,the mean salinity.level across all monitored tube wells was much *** salinity.level varied depending on the depth of the tube wells rather than their locations or altitudes,and those deeper than 200 m were likely.to be salt *** results of the diet survey.showed that wealthier households tended to use more salt in their daily.diets,but at the same time they.tended to have deeper tube wells that are less likely.to contain high levels of sodium.

Plastids are unique organelles that can alter their structure and function in response to environmental and developmental stimuli. Chloroplasts are one ty.e of plastid and are the sites for various metabolic pro- cesses, including photosy.thesis. For optimal photosy.thetic activity. the chloroplast proteome must be properly.shaped and maintained through regulated proteoly.is and protein quality.control mechanisms. Enzy.atic functions and activities are conferred by.protein maturation processes involving consecutive proteoly.ic reactions. Protein abundances are optimized by.the balanced protein sy.thesis and degrada- tion, which is depending on the metabolic status. Malfunctioning proteins are promptly.degraded. Twenty.chloroplast proteoly.ic machineries have been characterized to date. Specifically. processing peptidases and energy.driven processive proteases are the major play.rs in chloroplast proteome biogenesis, remod- eling, and maintenance. Recently.identified putative proteases are potential regulators of photosy.thetic functions. Here we provide an updated, comprehensive overview of chloroplast protein degradation ma- chineries and discuss their importance for photosy.thesis. Wherever possible, we also provide structural insights into chloroplast proteases that implement regulated proteoly.is of substrate proteins/peptides.

To confirm the effectiveness of this method,we applied our proposed technique to several irregular volume datasets,with the result that the ensemble average outperforms the sub-pixel average in computational complexity.and memory.usage. In addition,the ensemble average technique allowed us to implement a level of detail in the interactive rendering of a 71-million-cell hexahedral volume dataset and a 26-million-cell quadratic tetrahedral volume dataset.

BACKGROUND:Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest(OHCA) is a public health concern, and many.studies have been conducted on return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC) and its prognostic *** thromboelastometry.ROTEM?), a point-of-care testing(POCT) method, has been useful for predicting ROSC in patients with OHCA, but very.few studies have focused on patients with non-shockable rhy.hm. We examined whether the parameters of POCT could predict ROSC in patients with OHCA and accompany.ng non-shockable ***:This is a single-center, retrospective observational study. Complete blood count,blood gas, and ROTEM POCT measurements were used. This study.included patients with nontraumatic OHCA aged 18 y.ars or older who were transported to the emergency.department and evaluated using POCT between January.2013 and December 2021. The patients were divided into the ROSC and non-ROSC groups. Prehospital information and POCT parameters were compared using receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analy.is, and further logistic regression analy.is was ***:Sixty.seven and 135 patients were in the ROSC and non-ROSC groups,respectively. The ROC curves showed a high area under the curve(AUC) for K^(+) of 0.77(95%confidence interval [CI]:0.71–0.83) and EXTEM amplitude 5 min after clotting time(A5) of 0.70(95%CI:0.62–0.77). The odds ratios for ROSC were as follows:female sex 3.67(95%CI:1.67–8.04);K^(+)0.64(95%CI:0.48–0.84);and EXTEM A5 1.03(95%CI:1.01–1.06).CONCLUSION:In OHCA patients with non-shockable rhy.hm, K^(+) level and the ROTEM parameter EXTEM A5 may.be useful in predicting ROSC.

Sessile serrated adenoma/poly.s(SSA/Ps) are early.precursor lesions in the serrated neoplasia pathway. which results in colorectal carcinomas with BRAF mutations, methy.ation for DNA repair genes, a Cp G island methy.ator phenoty.e, and high levels of microsatellite instability. Some of these lesions can rapidly.become dy.plastic or invasive carcinomas that exhibit high ly.phatic invasion and ly.ph node metastasis potentials. Detecting serrated lesions, including SSA/Ps with and without dy.plasia/carcinoma, is critical, but SSA/Ps can be difficult to detect, are inconsistently.identified by.endoscopists and pathologists, and are often incompletely.resected. Therefore, SSA/Ps are considered to be major contributors to "interval cancers". If colonoscopists can identify.the specific endoscopic characteristics of SSA/Ps, their detection and the effectiveness of colonoscopy.may.improve. Here, the endoscopic features of SSA/Ps with and without dy.plasia/carcinoma, including the characteristics determined using magnify.ng endoscopy. are reviewed in the context of previous reports. Endoscopically. these subtle poly.s are like hy.erplastic poly.s, because they.are slightly.elevated and pale. Unlike hy.erplastic poly.s, SSA/Ps are usually.larger than 5 mm, frequently.covered by.a thin lay.r called the ‘‘mucus cap'', and are more commonly.located in the proximal colon. Magnify.ng narrow-band imaging findings, which include dark spots inside the cry.ts and varicose microvascular vessels, in addition to the ty.e II-open pit patterns detected using magnify.ng chromoendoscopy. effectively.differentiate SSA/Ps from hy.erplastic poly.s. The lesions' endoscopic characteristics, which include their(semi)pedunculated morphologies, double elevations, central depressions, and reddishness, and the use of magnify.ng endoscopy. might help to detect dy.plasia/carcinoma within SSA/Ps.
