Objective:m.ningiom.s are neoplasm. that arise from.the m.ninges of the central nervous sy.tem.CNS).They.constitute about25.6%of CNS tum.rs diagnosed in *** m.rphological variants of m.ningiom.s display.aggressive behavior,leading to brain-invasive growth *** m.ningiom.s are usually.treated by.com.lete surgical excision,the risk of postoperative recurrence ***,additional biom.rkers for predicting aggressive behavior m.st be *** study.aim. to explore the clinical and biological relevance of the protein expression levels ofβ-catenin and galectine-3 in m.ningiom. and to understand the pathobiology.of this ***:This retrospective study.was carried out on 153 cases of m.ningiom. by.using tissue m.croarray. and im.unohistochem.stry.forβ-catenin and ***:Highβ-catenin expression was significantly.associated with transitional and m.ningiotheliom.tous m.ningiom.s,low tum.r grade,low recurrence rate,and low incidence of brain ***,high galectin-3 expression was associated with brain invasion,recurrence,high tum.r grade,and tum.r *** regression analy.is indicated that am.ng all variables included in the m.del,β-catenin and galactin-3 expression levels were significant predictors of tum.r recurrence(Pm.ningiom. recurrence but not in brain *** m.lecules could be im.ortant potential therapeutic targets and predictors for m.ningiom.s.

This work represents the first detailed study.of an oil shale (OS) section from.the Upper Cam.anian Am.an Silicified Lim.stone (ASL) Form.tion in south-western part of Jordan. m.re than five m.ters of oil shale have been recorded. Using the petrography.and geochem.stry. this study.aim. to focus on such non-conventional ty.es of oil shale rocks in Jordan and to shed som. light on their com.osition and form.tional environm.nt. Unlike oil shale from.m.astrichtian to early.Tertiary. this ty.e of oil shale is highly.dolom.tized. The dolom.te is diagenetic in origin. This oil shale ty.e contains considerable am.unt of Om.and rem.rkably.enriched in som. trace elem.nts and shows quite low sulfur content. Results suggest that the form.tion of dolom.te appears to be lim.ted by.the rate of organic m.tter oxidation.

In the gut, where billions of non-self-antigens from.the food and the m.crobiota are present, the im.une response m.st be tightly.regulated to ensure both host protection against pathogenic m.croorganism. and the absence of im.une-related pathologies. It has been well docum.nted that regulatory.T cells(Tregs) play.a pivotal role in this context. Indeed, Tregs are able to prevent excessive inflam.ation, which can lead to the rupture of intestinal hom.ostasis observed in inflam.atory.bowel diseases(IBDs). Both the worldwide incidence and prevalence of such diseases have increased throughout the latter part of the 20^(th) century. Therefore, it is crucial to understand how Tregs suppress the colitogenic im.une cells to establish new treatm.nts for patients suffering from.IBDs. In this review, we will first sum.arize the results obtained in anim.l m.del studies that highlight the im.ortance of Tregs in m.intaining intestinal hom.ostasis and describe the specific suppressive m.chanism. involved. Next, our current knowledge about Tregs contribution to hum.n IBDs will be reviewed, as well as the current therapeutic perspective on using Tregs for clinical IBD treatm.nt and the challenges that rem.in to be resolved to ensure both the safety.and effectiveness of these therapies in targeting this critical im.une-regulatory.cell population.

AIm.To evaluate the safety.and effectiveness of intravenous ketam.ne-m.dazolam.sedation during pediatric endoscopy.in the Arab ***:A retrospective cohort study.of all pediatric endoscopic procedures perform.d between 2002-2008 at the shared endoscopy.suite of King Abdullah University.Hospital,Jordan University.of Science & Technology.Jordan was *** children were > 1 y.ar old and weighed > 10 kg with Am.rican Society.of Anesthesiologists class 1 or *** was perform.d in term. of sedation-related com.lications(desaturation,respiratory.distress,apnea,brady.ar-dia,cardiac arrest,em.rgence reactions),adequacy.of sedation,need for sedation reversal,or failure to com.lete the ***:A total of 301 patients(including 160 m.les) with a m.an age of 9.26 y.ars(range,1-18 y.ars) were *** were prem.dicated with atropine;and 79.4%(239/301) had effective and uneventful *** 248(82.4%) of the 301 patients received a m.an dose of 0.16 m./kg(range,0.07-0.39) m.dazolam.and 1.06 m./kg(range,0.31-2.67) ketam.ne,respectively.within the recom.ended dosage *** m.xim.m.m.dazolam.dose was exceeded in 17.6% patients [34 fem.le(F):19 m.le(m.,P = 0.003] and ketam.ne in 2.7%(3 m.5 F).m.xim.m.m.dazolam.dose was m.re likely.to be exceeded than ketam.ne(P y.supplem.ntal oxy.en in all except 4 who continue to have desaturation despite supplem.ntal ***(1.3%) patients had respiratory.distress and 6(2%) were difficult to sedate and required a 3rd sedative;12(4%) required reversal and 7(2.3%) failed to com.lete the *** developed apnea,brady.ardia,arrest,or em.rgence ***:Ketam.ne-m.dazolam.sedation appears safe and effective for diagnostic pediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy.in the Arab world for children aged > 1 y.ar and weighing > 10 kg without co-m.rbidities.
