Late corneal ectasia after penetrating and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty.for keratoconus

AIM:To investigate tomographic features of late corneal ectasia after keratoplasty.for keratoconus and compare penetrating keratoplasty.PK)and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty.DALK)in terms of incidence,time of onset and risk factors of corneal ***:Sixty.ey.s with PK and 30 ey.s with DALK operated between 1999 and 2021 were *** Pentacam scans were evaluated together with vision and previous *** outcome measures were vision,K values,apparent thinning on graft-host cornea and the difference between opposing quadrants in the thinnest point *** segment optic coherence tomography.was performed for further ***:Mean follow-up was 127.2mo(24–282mo)in PK,and 64.3mo(24–144mo)in DALK.K max was higher in DALK(60.6 vs 56.7 D,P=0.012).Inferior recipient was thinner(595.9μm)in PK than DALK(662.2μm,P=0.021),due to longer *** corneal ectasia rate was 20.0%within *** rate was the same(6.7%)in DALK 2/30 and in PK 4/60 in 10y.and 13.3%in 12y.4/30 and 8/60,respectively..It increased to 23.3%(14/60)in PK over *** ectasia was not seen before 7y.in PK,it could be seen in DALK starting from the 5^(th) *** intervals between keratoplasty.and ectasia were 144.5mo in PK and 99mo in *** recipient was significantly.thinner in 18 ey.s with ectasia(502.7μm)compared to 76 non-ectasia(649.1μm,P=0.000).Inferior graft was thinner(561.0 vs 620.4μm,P=0.006),K max(63.3 vs 56.5 D,P=0.000),and anterior elevation was higher in ectasia(89.1 vs 48.6μm,P=0.002).Accelerated crosslinking was performed on 5 ***:Inferior-superior recipient and inferior graft thinning on tomography.with high K max and anterior elevation emerge as the most reliable criteria for the diagnosis of late *** incidence of corneal ectasia increases with the time.

Recently.deep learning has y.elded transformative success across optics and photonics,especially.in optical *** neural networks (DNNs) with a fully.convolutional architecture (e.g.,U-Net and its derivatives) have been widely.implemented in an end-to-end manner to accomplish various optical metrology.tasks,such as fringe denoising,phase unwrapping,and fringe ***,the task of training a DNN to accurately.identify.an image-to-image transform from massive input and output data pairs seems at best naive,as the phy.ical laws governing the image formation or other domain expertise pertaining to the measurement have not y.t been fully.exploited in current deep learning *** this end,we introduce a phy.ics-informed deep learning method for fringe pattern analy.is (PI-FPA) to overcome this limit by.integrating a lightweight DNN with a learning-enhanced Fourier transform profilometry.(Le FTP) *** parameterizing conventional phase retrieval methods,the Le FTP module embeds the prior knowledge in the network structure and the loss function to directly.provide reliable phase results for new ty.es of samples,while circumventing the requirement of collecting a large amount of high-quality.data in supervised learning *** by.the initial phase from Le FTP,the phase recovery.ability.of the lightweight DNN is enhanced to further improve the phase accuracy.at a low computational cost compared with existing end-to-end *** results demonstrate that PI-FPA enables more accurate and computationally.efficient single-shot phase retrieval,exhibiting its excellent generalization to various unseen objects during *** proposed PI-FPA presents that challenging issues in optical metrology.can be potentially.overcome through the sy.ergy.of phy.ics-priors-based traditional tools and data-driven learning approaches,opening new avenues to achieve fast and accurate single-shot 3D imaging.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity.ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy.transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by.optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity.of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity.at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Rescattering of stimulated Raman side scattering(SRSS)is observed for the first time via two-dimensional(2D)particle-in-cell(PIC)*** construct a theoretical model for the rescattering process,which can predict the region of occurrence of mth-order SRSS and estimate its *** rescattering process is identified by.the 2D PIC simulations under ty.ical conditions of a direct-drive inertial confinement fusion *** electrons produced by.second-order SRSS propagate nearly.perpendicular to the density.gradient and gain nearly.the same energy.as in first-order SRSS,but there is no cascade acceleration to produce superhot *** studies for a wide range of ignition conditions show that SRSS and associated rescatterings are robust and important processes in inertial confinement fusion.

Impact of effective stress on permeability.for carbonate fractured-vuggy.rocks

To gain insight into the flow mechanisms and stress sensitivity.for fractured-vuggy.reservoirs,several core models with different structural characteristics were designed and fabricated to investigate the impact of effective stress on permeability.for carbonate fractured-vuggy.rocks(CFVR).It shows that the permeability.performance curves under different pore and confining pressures(*** stress conditions)for the fractured core models and the vuggy.core models have similar change *** ranges of permeability.variation are significantly.wider at high pore pressures,indicating that permeability.reduction is the most significant during the early.stage of development for fractured-vuggy.*** each obtained effective stress coefficient for permeability.ESCP)varies with the changes in confining pressure and pore pressure,the effective stresses for permeability.of four representative CFVR show obvious nonlinear characteristics,and the variation ranges of ESCP are all between 0 and ***,a comprehensive ESCP mathematical model considering triple media,including matrix pores,fractures,and dissolved vugs,was *** is proved theoretically.that the ESCP of CFVR generally.varies between 0 and ***,the regression results showed that the power model ranked highest among the four empirical models mainly.applied in stress sensitivity.characterization,followed by.the logarithmic model,exponential model,and binomial *** concept of“permeability.decline rate”was introduced to better evaluate the stress sensitivity.performance for CFVR,in which the one-fracture rock is the strongest,followed by.the fracture-vug rock and two-horizontalfracture rock;the through-hole rock is the *** general,this study.provides a theoretical basis to guide the design of development and adjustment programs for carbonate fractured-vuggy.reservoirs.

Investigation of Acoustomagnetoelectric Effect in Bandgap Graphene by.the Boltzmann Transport Equation

We study.the acoustomagnetoelectric (AME) effect in two-dimensional graphene with an energy.bandgap using the semiclassical Boltzmann transport equation within the hy.ersound regime, (where represents the acoustic wavenumber and is the mean free path of the electron). The Boltzmann transport equation and other relevant equations were solved analy.ically.to obtain an expression for the AME current density. consisting of longitudinal and Hall components. Our numerical results indicate that both components of the AME current densities display.oscillatory.behaviour. Furthermore, geometric resonances and Weiss oscillations were each defined using the relationship between the current density.and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) frequency.and the inverse of the applied magnetic field, respectively. Our results show that the AME current density.of bandgap graphene, which can be controlled to suit a particular electronic device application, is smaller than that of (gapless) graphene and is therefore, more suited for nanophotonic device applications.

Gallstone(GS)disease is common and arises from a combination of genetic and environmental *** genetic abnormalities specifically.leading to cholesterol GSs are rare,there are clinically.significant gene variants associated with cholesterol *** contrast,most bilirubin GSs can be attributed to genetic *** pathogenesis of cholesterol and bilirubin GSs differs *** GSs are notably.influenced by.genetic variants within the ABC protein superfamily.including ABCG8,ABCG5,ABCB4,and ABCB11,as well as genes from the apolipoprotein family.such as ApoB100 and ApoE(especially.the E3/E3 and E3/E4 variants),and members of the MUC ***,bilirubin GSs are associated with genetic variants in highly.expressed hepatic genes,notably.UGT1A1,ABCC2(MRP2),ABCC3(MRP3),CFTR,and MUC,alongside genetic defects linked to hemoly.ic anemias and conditions impacting *** genetic cases constitute a small portion of GS disease,recognizing genetic predisposition is essential for proper diagnosis,treatment,and genetic counseling.

Solid Desiccant Dehumidification Techniques Inspired from Natural Electroosmosis Phenomena

Electroosmosis has been shown to be an effective means of different applications in various fields such as Micro-Electro-Mechanical sy.tems （MEMS） and biomimetics applications. This paper aims to prove the concept that the electroosmosis phenomena can also be cooperated into larger scale applications in the building service industry.like dehumidification or damping proof. The electroosmotic flow inside a porous medium is validated experimentally.to further understand the dehumidification mechanism of combined techniques. An experimental test validates that the condensation from the porous medium can be obtained by.electroosmotic force generated by.external electric field, especially.for specific desiccant powders like zeolite and diatomaceous earth. With a range of volts from 5 V to 20 V apply.ng between the testing plates, the maximum flow rate through the cross section in the testing plate achieved during the peak period is 1.35 laL＇min 1. These promising phenomena can act as an alternative way.for energy.choice in dehumidification industrial field. Further researches on new regeneration methods for solid desiccant dehumidification are required to make the sy.tem simple, energy.saving and suitable for small air conditioning units.

Ferroelectric HfO_(2)has attracted much attention owing to its superior ferroelectricity.at an ultra-thin thickness and good compatibility.with Si-based complementary.metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)***,the cry.tallization of polar orthorhombic phase(o-phase)HfO_(2)is less competitive,which greatly.limits the ferroelectricity.of the as-obtained ferroelectric HfO_(2)thin ***,the cry.tallization of o-phase HfO_(2)can be thermody.amically.modulated via interfacial stress *** this paper,the growth of improved ferroelectric Al doped HfO_(2)(HfO_(2):Al)thin films on(111)-oriented Si substrate has been *** analy.is has suggested that nonpolar monoclinic HfO_(2):Al grown on(111)-oriented Si substrate suffered from a strong compressive strain,which promoted the cry.tallization of(111)-oriented o-phase HfO_(2)in the as-grown HfO_(2):Al thin *** addition,the in-plane lattice of(111)-oriented Si substrate matches well with that of(111)-oriented o-phase HfO_(2),which further thermally.stabilizes the o-phase HfO_(2).Accordingly.an improved ferroelectricity.with a remnant polarization(2P_(r))of 26.7C/cm^(2) has been *** results shown in this work provide a simple way.toward the preparation of improved ferroelectric HfO_(2)thin films.
