BiVO_(4)(BVO)is a promising material as the photoanode for use in photoelectrochemical ***,the high charge recombination and slow charge transfer of the BVO have been obstacles to achieving satisfactory.photoelectrochemical *** address this,various modifications have been attempted,including the use of ferroelectric *** materials can form a permanent polarization within the lay.r,enhancing the separation and transport of photo-excited electron-hole *** this study.we propose a novel approach by.depositing an epitaxial BiFeO_(3)(BFO)thin film underneath the BVO thin film(BVO/BFO)to harness the ferroelectric property.of *** self-polarization of the inserted BFO thin film simultaneously.functions as a buffer lay.r to enhance charge transport and a hole-blocking lay.r to reduce charge *** a result,the BVO/BFO photoanodes showed more than 3.5 times higher photocurrent density.0.65 mA cm^(-2))at 1.23 V_(RHE)under the illumination compared to the bare BVO photoanodes(0.18 m A cm^(-2)),which is consistent with the increase of the applied bias photon-to-current conversion efficiencies(ABPE)and the result of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.EIS)*** results can be attributed to the self-polarization exhibited by.the inserted BFO thin film,which promoted the charge separation and transfer efficiency.of the BVO photoanodes.

Advancements in sensor technology.have significantly.enhanced atmospheric ***,metal oxide and carbon(MO_(x)/C)hy.rids have gained attention for their exceptional sensitivity.and room-temperature sensing ***,previous methods of sy.thesizing MO_(x)/C composites suffer from problems,including inhomogeneity.aggregation,and challenges in ***,we introduce a refined method that employ. a metal–organic framework(MOF)as a precursor combined with direct laser *** inherent structure of MOFs ensures a uniform distribution of metal ions and organic linkers,y.elding homogeneous MO_(x)/C *** laser processing facilitates precise micropatterning(y.ical photolithography.of the MO_(x)/C *** optimized MOF-derived MO_(x)/C sensor rapidly.detected ethanol gas even at room temperature(105 and 18 s for response and recovery.respectively.,with a broad range of sensing performance from 170 to 3,400 ppm and a high response value of up to 3,500%.Additionally.this sensor exhibited enhanced stability.and thermal resilience compared to previous MOF-based *** research opens up promising avenues for practical applications in MOF-derived sensing devices.

BACKGROUND Cervical necrotizing fasciitis(CNF)is a rare,aggressive form of deep neck space infection with significant morbidity.and mortality.*** surgical debridement acts as the cornerstone of CNF treatment;however,it often results in defects requiring complex *** SUMMARy.We report two cases in which the key.tone flap(KF)was used for CNF defect coverage:Case 1,an 85-y.ar-old patient with CNF in the anterior neck,and Case 2,a 54-y.ar-old patient with CNF in the posterior *** patients received empirical intravenous antibiotic therapy.and underwent serial debridement,enabling adequate wound preparation and *** final defect size measured 5.5 cm×12 cm in Case 1 and 6 cm×11 cm in Case *** defect coverage,we employ.d an 8 cm×19 cm ty.e II KF based on perforators from the superior thy.oid artery.in Case 1 and a 9 cm×18 cm ty.e II KF based on perforators from the transverse cervical artery.in Case *** flaps showed complete *** postoperative complications occurred in both cases,and favorable outcomes were observed at 7-and 6-month follow-ups in case 1 and 2,*** We effectively.treated CNF-associated defects using the KF technique;KF is viable for covering CNF defects in carefully.selected cases.

Prey.species may.have their own optimal escape strategy.to balance predation risks and the energetic cost of *** species have an advantage when maintaining a short fleeing distance,while others may.favour an earlier escape based on microhabitat,size,or body.***,we examined the escape behaviour of the three sy.topic Northeast Asian anuran species:Mongolian toads(Strauchbufo raddei),Amur brown frogs(Rana amurensis),and Japanese treefrogs(Dry.phy.es japonicus)in Mongolia,Russia,China and DPR *** examined flight initiation distance(FID;the distance from a potential predator to the point when the individual starts to flee)and distance fled(DF;distance between flight initiation and flight termination points)of each species and the effects of microhabitat,sex,and body.*** raddei and *** had a longer FID than ***,and *** also had a longer DF than *** trends remained similar when dividing FID and DF by.a size proxy.snout-vent length)for all *** suggests that the treefrog *** used a strategy.to stay.immobile even when they.were detected,and the toad *** reacted quicker and more sensitively.to predators despite the presence of *** *** had a significantly.longer FID than males suggesting that females are more sensitive to predation risk in this species,but body.size was not significant for any.of the three *** results indicate that the three sy.patric species have different escaping strategies,likely.related to differences in phy.iology.and cry.ticity.

Most microfluidic separation techniques rely.largely.on object size as a separation *** ability.to separate micro-objects based on their shape is crucial in various biomedical and chemical ***,we develop an ondemand,label-free acoustofluidic method to separate prolate ellipsoids from spherical microparticles based on traveling surface acoustic wave-induced acoustic radiation force and *** freely.rotating non-spherical microobjects were aligned under the progressive acoustic field by.the counterrotating radiation torque,and the major axis of the prolate ellipsoids was parallel to the progressive wave *** specific alignment of the ellipsoidal particles resulted in a reduction in the cross-sectional area perpendicular to the wave *** a consequence,the acoustic backscattering decreased,resulting in a decreased magnitude of the radiation *** the variation in radiation force,which depended on the micro-object morphology.enabled the acoustofluidic shape-based *** conducted numerical simulations for the wave scattering of spherical and prolate objects to elucidate the working mechanism underly.ng the proposed method.A series of experiments with poly.ty.ene microspheres,prolate ellipsoids,and peanut-shaped microparticles were performed for *** quantitative analy.is of the separation efficiency.we confirmed the high purity.and high recovery.rate of the proposed acoustofluidic shapebased separation of *** a bioparticle,we utilize Thalassiosira eccentrica to perform shape-based separation,as the species has a variety.of potential applications in drug delivery.biosensing,nanofabrication,bioencapsulation and immunoisolation.
