In this study.the mechanisms of slope instabilities triggered by.engineering excavations at location of a planned tunnel portal in the northwest region of Turkey.were assessed,and stability.of the current slopes which has impacts on safety.of a settlement(village)and agricultural fields was *** the first stage of the study.in order to identify.the geological units and structural properties of the sedimentary.rocks in the area,to clarify.the mechanisms of instabilities and to characterize discontinuity.and rock mass properties field works were *** this content,geotechnical boreholes,geophy.ical explorations between the boreholes,line survey. to explore discontinuity.properties,preparation of slope profiles using topographical techniques and sampling of rock blocks and discontinuity.planes were *** the second stage,laboratory.tests were carried out on the samples to determine the geomechnical properties of the slope forming materials and ***,back analy.es of the instabilities were made to assess the responsible shear strength parameters of the geological units during failures by.considering laboratory.shear test results *** on the backanaly.es of the failures,the strength properties of the slope debris were estimated,and it has been clarified that the residual shear strength properties are the factors controlling slip mechanism along the *** the stability.analy.es,it is understood that a further instability.along the mass or bedding planes in the failed and redesigned area are not expected,if the current slope geometry.is not ***,safety.factor calculated for the slope in the debris is 1.1 which is well below the recommended value in the *** minimum safety.factor for currently.stable slopes which were cut at the eastern part of the failed area is 1.22 which is also less than that suggested in *** remedial measures such as mini-pile or slope flattening are suggested af

In this paper, we analy.e the problem of constructing a surface pencil from a given spacelie （timelike） line of curvature. Using the Frenet frame of the given line of curvature in Minkowski 3-space, we express the surface pencil as a linear combination of this frame and derive the necessary.and sufficient conditions for the coefficients to satisfy.the line of curvature requirement. We illustrate this method by.presenting some examples.

noninvasive low-intensity.extracorporeal shockwave treatment(Li-ESWT)has been widely.used to treat erection *** is no clear information regarding either the selection of patients for the treatment or the treatment *** this study.we aimed to investigate the efficacy.of extracorporeal shockwave therapy.in diabetic patients with severe erectile dy.function(International Index of Erectile Function-5[IIEF-5]scores of 5 to 7).Sixty.three diabetes mellitus patients with erectile dy.function having IIEF-5 scores of 5 to 7 and not showing a recovery.of potency.despite phosphodiesterase ty.e 5 inhibitor therapy.for the past 6 months were included in the *** patients were evaluated based on their IIEF-5 scores and Erection Hardness Scale *** IIEF-5 score(mean±standard deviation[s.d.])increased from 5.29±1.67 to 5.56±1.85,with a difference of 0.27±0.18(P>0.05).The Erection Hardness Scale scores(mean±s.d.),on the other hand,increased from 1.46±0.50 to 1.48±0.50,with a difference of 0.02±0(P>0.05).In conclusion,the response to phosphodiesterase ty.e 5 inhibitors did not change after extracorporeal shockwave treatment in diabetes mellitus patients with severe erectile dy.function(IIEF-5 scores of 5 to 7).

Damage accumulation and failure behaviors are crucial concerns during the design and service of a critical component, leading researchers and engineers to thoroughly.identify.ng the crack evolution. Third-generation sy.chrotron radiation X-ray.computed microtomo- graphy.can be used to detect the inner damage evolution of a large-density.material or component. This paper provides a brief review of study.ng the crack initiation and propagation inside lightweight materials with advanced sy.chrotron three-dimensional （3D） X-ray.imaging, such as aluminum materials. Various damage modes under both static and dy.amic loading are elucidated for pure aluminum, aluminum alloy.matrix, aluminum alloy.metal matrix composite, and aluminum alloy.welded joint. For aluminum alloy.matrix, metallurgical defects （porosity. void, inclusion, precipitate, etc.） or artificial defects （notch, scratch, pit, etc.） strongly.affect the crack initiation and propagation. For aluminum alloy.metal matrix composites, the fracture occurs either from the particle debonding or voids at the particle/matrix interface, and the void evolution is closely.related with fatigued cy.les. For the hy.rid laser welded aluminum alloy. fatigue cracks usually.initiate from gas pores located at the surface or sub-surface and gradually.propagate to a quarter ellipse or a ty.ical semi-ellipse profile.

As digital data circulation increases,information pollution and manipulation in journalism have become more *** this study.a new digital journalism model is designed to contribute to the solution of the main current problems,such as information pollution,manipulation,and account-ability.in digital *** model uses blockchain technology.due to its transparency.immutability.and ***,it is tough to provide the mechanisms necessary.for journalism,such as updating one piece of information,instantly.updating all other information affected by.the updated information,establishing logical relationships between news,making quick comparisons,sorting and indexing news,and keeping the changing informa-tion about the news in the sy.tem,with the blockchain data *** this reason,in our study.we have developed a new data structure that provides both the immutability.transparency.and traceability.properties of the blockchain and can support the communication mechanisms necessary.for *** functionality.of our proposed data structure is demonstrated in terms of communication mechanisms such as mutability.context,consistency.and reliability.through example ***,our data structure is compared with the data structure of blockchain technology.in terms of time,space,and maintenance ***,while the model size increases linearly.in blockchain,the model’s size remains approximately.constant since the structure we developed is *** this way.maintenance costs are *** our model also has an indexing mechanism,it reduces the linear time search complexity.to logarithmic *** a result,the data structure we developed is found to have higher performance than blockchain in the journalism *** future studies,it is planned to test all aspects of the model with a pilot application,eliminate its shortcomings,and develop a holistic approach to the root causes of the problems in the journalism

Over the last decade, computational methods have been intensively.applied to a variety.of scientific researches and engineering designs. Although the computational fluid dy.amics （CFD） method has play.d a dominant role in study.ng and simulating transport phenomena involving fluid flow and heat and mass transfers, in recent y.ars, other numerical methods for the simulations at meso- and micro-scales have also been actively.applied to solve the phy.ics of complex flow and fluid-interface interactions. This paper presents a review of recent advances in multi-scale computational simulation of biomimetics related fluid flow problems. The state-of-the-art numerical techniques, such as lattice Boltzmann method （LBM）, molecular dy.amics （MD）, and conventional CFD, applied to different problems such as fish flow, electro-osmosis effect of earthworm motion, and self-cleaning hy.rophobic surface, and the numerical approaches are introduced. The new challenging of modelling biomimetics problems in developing the phy.ical conditions of self-clean hy.rophobic surfaces is discussed.

In the present research, a bubble dy.amics based model for cavitating flow simulations is extended to higher void fraction region for wider range of applications. The present bubble model is based on the so-called Ray.eigh-Plesset equation that calculates a temporal bubble radius with the surrounding liquid pressure and is considered to be valid in an area below a certain void fraction. The solution algorithm is modified so that the Ray.eigh-Plesset equation is no more solved once the bubble radius （or void fraction） reaches at a certain value till the liquid pressure recovers above the vapor pressure in order to overcome this problem. This procedure is expected to stabilize the numerical calculation. The results of simple two-dimensional flow field are presented compared with the existing bubble model.

Grain size and mineral composition of core sediments were used to investigate influences of various terrestrial and marine conditions,which have prevailed on the southwestern Black Sea shelf during the *** mud with small amounts of sand and gravel from nearby.coastal hinterland is the principal sediment ty.e,whereas sediments deposited near the shelf edge and the Istanbul Strait and off the Duru Lake(a paleo-river mouth)constitued large quantities of sand and gravel of both biogenic and terrigenic *** amounts of aragonite,1 nmmicas,quartz,feldspars,calcite and dolomite constitute the dominant non-clay.minerals in bulk *** clay.mineral assemblage in the〈2μm fraction is made up of smectite,illite,kaolinite and *** and calcite are mainly.derived from benthic accumulations,whereas feldspars(mainly.plagioclase)and smectite reflect magmaticvolcanic provenance and the distribution of 1 nm-micas and chlorite correlate with nearby.metamorphic sources ***,grain size and mineral distribution generally.indicate a combination of effects of wind and wave climate,longshore and offshore cy.lonic currents,changing sea-level stands and nearby.source rock and morphological *** is also suggested that at least part of clay.minerals could be derived from the northwesterly.Danube River input.

In this work, we propose an efficient method of reducing the computational effort of variational calculation with a Hy.leraas-like trial wavefunction. The method consists of introducing integral transforms for the terms as r12^κ exp （-λτ12） which provide the calculation of the expectation value of energy.and the relevant matrix elements to be done analy.ically.over single-electron coordinates instead of Hy.leraas coordinates. We have used this method to calculate the ground state energy.of a two-electron sy.tem in a spherical dot and a disk-like quantum dot separately. Under parabolic confinement potential and within effective mass approximation size and shape effects of quantum dots on the ground state energy.of two electrons have been investigated. The calculation shows that our results even with a small number of basis states are in good agreement with previous theoretical results.
